“How long, O Lord, how long???” The reality of life is that we’re all waiting on something. Marriage. Babies. Jobs. Healing. Family restoration. The list could go on and on… Seasons of waiting on the Lord can be hard, discouraging and exhausting. Perhaps it’s only been weeks or months. But for some, the wait has lasted years. Or maybe you’ve faced an unimaginable trial, such as the loss of a loved one. The journey through grief, sorrow and pain can be filled with isolation and hopelessness. No matter how hard your journey has been, there is a purpose for all of the pain. Come join me in this 60-day devotional as I share pieces of my own story, including both loss and longing. Through the truth shared from God's Word, you will find that it is possible to have joy and declare that God is good, even in the midst of waiting. As you read each devotion, my prayer is that your heart will be healed, your mind renewed and your spirit encouraged to seek, trust and praise the Lord through the storms you are facing today. Although it might be a hard journey now, God is faithful, and he will finish the work that he started in you. If you remain steadfast and don't give up, in due time you will reap your abundant harvest! Be encouraged and have hope — God is in the waiting!
Caroline Harries has a heart for those who are waiting on breakthrough from the Lord. Her unwavering faith is evident as she believes for her own miracle of children. She delights in encouraging women through her internationally followed blog, In Due Time, and her ministry to those desiring to become mothers, Moms in the Making. Caroline holds a degree in finance and marketing from Baylor University in Texas, where she and her husband live.
Yikes, y'all. What the back cover should have said: if you have enough faith God has promised you a baby/a financial breakthrough/worldly treasures because "faith is the currency of heaven". *shudder* Also not as focused on infertility or loss as the summary would indicate. Based on both the blurb and the reviews, I expected something very different, so if this ideology isn't in line with your spiritual beliefs consider passing on this.
This was an encouraging devotional book. There was a lot of sincerity in the words that the author wrote, which made her positivity natural. On occasion, she crossed some exegetical boundaries. However, it wasn't egregious or contrary to the concept of Scripture as a whole, so I wouldn't worry to recommend this book.
A 60 day devotional on giving God all the glory, through His plans, that He works out for good. We can make all the plans, but He has the ultimate say with His plans and His timetable. Caroline Harries put together a very relatable devotional with journal prompts at the end of each entry. Trust that God has you and is with you every step of the way.
Anyone to claim to know the mind of God, has a name it and claim it doctrine! This woman is dangerously spreading untruths! My question to her would be, “Why are you still waiting for a baby ?” .. there are really only 3 options with this type of doctrinal reasoning. 1. Your faith and prayers are not enough. 2. God is not who you say he is. 3. You are wrong and not everyone is promised a baby!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 If you need hope and encouragement in your waiting, this book is a must read! Uplifting and powerful using scripture to inspire a renewed hope in the Lord. Every devotion is based directly from God’s Word. Highly recommend!
I could just read this book over and over! I purchased this book while dealing with the struggles of infertility, but found it is such a wonderful devotional to read regardless of what you are struggling with or waiting on. This book focuses on hope and encouragement at any stage of your life. Must read!!!!
This book is for anyone who needs a little HOPE sent their way. Caroline has a way of sending hope and encouragement in a way that I have not read before. Be it a job search, waiting to adopt, despondency, infertility, looking for a spouse...this book is for you. She is candid and authentic, and will help those who are seeking to find what they need. Hope from the only One who can truly give it. (I found this book to be much better than the Hope Devotional that goes along with Jesus Calling, and not depressing like some others that I have read) This book is spot on and a real find! Kudos, Caroline! Looking forward to any future work.
This book was balm to my soul as I've been walking this waiting journey for nearly three years. The devotional is full of life and truth, reminding me where the ultimate source of peace comes from. Grateful for her kind and brave words as she reminds us of God's promises!
