It's been a little bit since I last ventured to Sugarcreek. Time, once again, to see what Cheryl and the Millers were up to. They did not disappoint. This is truly a niche genre with it's cozy mystery Christian fiction angle. Sugarcreek makes me long for some small town life in the most idyllic way. Super creepy cover image notwithstanding.
What I liked about No Time for Trouble: A gentle but intriguing mystery - Or really a series of mysteries. There is no death involved in any of these cases. There are misunderstandings and secrets and disagreements, but the violence is a bare minimum, if at all. Fourteen books in, I find it no small feat to come up with mysteries that entertain but involve absolutely no murder. The creativity abounds and this one was no exception. Beau - It was only a matter of time before Beau took a role in one of Cheryl's mysteries. This was an excellent means to bring this about. To say more would become spoiler-ish, but I thought it was a clever angle. Examples of Christian living - I find it wholesome and encouraging to see various characters living with values that I share. They aren't perfect people and they have struggles in living out their faith, but the examples are relatable and feel attainable.
What I didn't care for: The emergence of Brandon - It felt as though his shift into a main supporting role came without any warning whatsoever. I would have preferred some sort of a more gradual introduction before he just assumed a familiar position in the story. Mrs Lehman - It felt like this lurked around the edges of the story, and while an explanation was provided, it seemed like it was addressed more as an afterthought. Almost as though they weren't really sure where it was going and then couldn't come up with a better resolution by the time the clock mystery was solved.
What left me conflicted: The twins - I understood the role they played, but it felt a bit tiresome to have Cheryl constantly guessing who was who, especially considering she's been living in Aunt Mitzi's house for a year now. Which also begs the question how we're just meeting these boys now if they live right next door and appear to interact frequently with Cheryl.
I thoroughly enjoyed the crazy maze of incidents this case presented. I never did figure out what was going on until it was explained but it didn't make it any less entertaining to follow along as it played out. I am already looking forward to the next installment, where perhaps we will get some resolution to Cheryl's personal conundrum.
I really wanted to love this book. I have been to Sugarcreek multiple times and love it there. I ended up skipping through a lot of the last half. Things really got ridiculous, I mean how many people can get pushed down? And if I had to hear Cheryl ponder about which twin was which one more time I was going to scream. It seemed like Cheryl just stuck her nose into everything and took over when ever anything happened. I'm sorry, I just didn't care for this story at all.

This book was not the best in the series. The plot just did not grab me like some of the others. Cheryl is a horrible boss and store manager. She is never there. I don't have much to say about this one. The festival sounded interesting
I felt like this book was one big mystery after another. It left me feeling pleased at the end to the resolution of all the mysteries being solved. I liked the book very much and kept finding myself looking off the page to piece each piece of the puzzle together. I liked the fact that Cheryl was right by her first instinct on a bizarre embarrassing moment with Brandon, the vet, and in the midst of Felicity, the new Sugar Creek resident. It had me smiling because I can relate to her feelings of jealousy or as I should say having feelings for a boy who has another girls attention for a moment. I think Olivia Newport did a great job in keeping the reader occupied in the story and discovering clues in solving the mystery puzzle. I give this book 4 stars for opening my eyes to certain passage scriptures I needed to read and be reminded of. One example being a quote from Lamentations in the Bible, " Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Another quote that spoke to me directly to the heart is something I need to remember on a daily basis and she phrased it well, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God." I recommend readers to begin this series. It is cute, fast paced and pleasantly fun. In this book get ready for a "Festive" time!
No Time For Trouble is an exciting mystery written by Olivia Newport in the Sugarcreek Amish Mystery series. This is book 14 of the series. The author has done an amazing job telling this story which centers around destruction of the famous cuckoo clock. Everytime there is damage to the clock someone gets injured and there is an event that draws attention away from the clock. This is all taking place at the same time as the annual Swiss festival. New to the series are Cheryl neighbors, twin 11 year old boys. The twins are identical so they could blend in anywhere and could be mistaken as each other. Cheryl believes the sheriff should question the twins about what they have seen before they become the final ones to be injured. There are many suspects involved in this mysterious which makes it difficult to try to solve.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful mystery which I can highly recommend to others.
14th book in series. Its time for the annual Ohio Swiss Festival. Almost everyone is busy and excitied for the festival. Cheryl wakes up one morning and can't find Beau her cat anywhere. She looks everywhere for him, asks everyone she sees and nothing. The new vet Brandon even comes over to help look (bringing cake with him) when they hear a loud crash sound in the front yard. They discover someone and hit her car parked in the street and ran off. At the same time as Beau is missing someone has started vandalizing the town square clock the one that everyone comes to watch and listen to. Cheryl happens to be in the area each time it happens and someone she knows gets hurt in the process. Its time to find out who or what is behind all this. Brandon is showing signs of having some feelings or Cheryl, and shes confused. She still has feelings for Levi but doesn't think they have a chance together. She likes Brandon he's a very nice and good man but isn't Levi.
Struggling with this one.. . Cheryl is acting completely out of character, the story feels all over the place, random plots are coming out of nowhere , and I'm losing interest quickly. Very disappointed in this one....well I ended up skimming a little in the middle, and then read the end. I just wasn't a big fan of this one. Too much running around and not enough of the connection between characters that I like about this series. Hoping the next one is better
This is my least favorite in the series so far. It just all got very far fetched, and I still don't really understand why Felicity had the cat... did I just miss it or was it an unanswered question? And do any cat owners just take their cats around in their arms up and down a busy crowded street? I have never had a cat that would have been ok with that.

I loved this book, I haven't read a lot of this author books, but I really enjoyed it! No time for trouble, but there really was trouble indeed in sugarcreek! very good mystery will be reading more of this series.
This was the second of the series that my bookstore had. It is #14 in the Series but was not hard to follow even if I had to skip 13 books. I enjoyed the story and am glad my store had the rest of the series.
This Cheryl's 1st Ohio Swiss Festival & there are strange things going on that should not be. Vandalism, injuries, etc. Cheryl sets out to find out why & who.
