Scott Williams, determined to solve the mystery that is the Treasure Pit, has very suddenly and unexpectedly discovered that two of his friends have traveled back in time. Not only that, but they've sent him a letter through the three hundred year gap, asking for his help. However, he doesn't exactly agree with what they want him to do. Mark Bell is still in love with Samantha, a woman more than ten years his junior, a fellow time traveler, and very much not available. It's all he can do to keep from taking her in his arms as he watches her struggle with the demons of her past, wishing that there was anything he could do to ease both of their suffering. Throwing himself into the work of the secret order of The Knights Templar, Mark tries to focus on anything but what his heart is telling him. Samantha O'Rourke feels like she is drowning, nightmares of being a captive and losing her family plaguing her. Not even the touch of the man she loves most, her husband, Tristan, is soothing the ache they both feel for what they've lost. Hoping to find some sense of their old life, the couple sets out on another mission from the Order, heading toward the legendary city of Atlantis. However, nothing is ever as it seems, and Samantha soon finds herself in a place where friendships will be tested, loyalties questioned, and relationships tried. Will she be able to overcome what's happened to her, or will she fall by the wayside, locked in a prison cell of her own creation?

"It was shard not to feel insignificant under the scrutiny of the skies, or to wonder what my part was in the blip of life I had to make my own."
i'm contemplating whether this book or the first one is my current obsession because holy hell this one was as much of a five star as it can get, so much so i'm apprehensive for the future of this series, will it continue on its legacy of being an absolute banger of a summer read or will it lose its spark?
hidden away had one of the best introductions to a fantasy read i've read in the past two years. despite my slight disappointment of not seeing samantha's pov it quickly changed when scott's pov ended up being such an immersive and intense narrative i couldn't wait to be back under the protection of the order of the knights templar in the future.

and then we dived back in the past in the company of mark who has cemented himself as my least favourite narrator. it's not only the fact that the plot line of having him in love with samantha while having an absolute gem of a woman like abella begging for him to notice her at any time, i find myself completely detached while reading his thoughts and feelings. perhaps when he realizes his samantha feelings are all a coping mechanism for getting through the emotional disaster of travelling back in time, he will be more of an interesting character to be inside the mind of.
and then we go back to the queen's mind and kamery solomon fixes her rushed portrayal of the stages of grief and gives us scenes of pure heartbreak, hope, companionship and belonging so fully and completely to a person who is going through the same pain as you in a moving process of tears and anger and above all communication.
tristan and samantha never fail to leave me praising hymns for them and building a few statues for them as well.
the action in this one even if less than the previous books was wonderful. the twist in legends and the introduction to more elements of magic made me squeak since she has officially incorporated my favourite magical elements and gave us not only a badass mermaid fight, a captain in love with the idea of dying for honour (and a redhead), a crew who would die for him but a conversation with the dead which almost had me crying at the beach.
and the beach is never the place to cry.
so in honour of THAT scene here is a quote that made me cry internally:
"You will have a legacy. And you will be more loved than you ever thought possible."

p.s. my therapist bills are charged to Marion's bank account, please & thank you.

Loved it!

I pre-ordered this book long ago. I couldn't wait to read it. It was everything I hoped it would be. My only disappointment is that now I have to wait for the next one! I was so happy to see old characters again and meet some beloved new ones. I absolutely love when books mix history, myths, legends and lore. What a great series!

Another great read.

I have noticed that this book, while enjoyable, was less exciting. Not to be an uncaring brute, but I found that there was less focus on adventure and more focus on relationship drama. Don't get me wrong, I love the drama of love, but so much of it deviates away from the main storyline and I find myself becoming impatient to move forward with the issues on Randall and the treasures, and y'know, impending doom and all that good stuff.

I also still felt that uncomfortableness experienced throughout the second book, what with everyone's relationships being so shaky on top of all the trauma experienced and rehashed over repeatedly. Still, it's a turning point that will likely make them stronger and lead up to a good climax in the story.

The good parts, though, are pretty good. I hate these cliffhanger endings but at the same time, I really want to know what happens next, so I'll be starting the fourth book today.

I absolutely love this series!! Kamery Solomon is a fantastic author and her attention to detail (historical and visual) is outstanding. I fully feel like I am in the book experiencing everything with the characters.

There are three different perspectives that split the book into three sections. We start off in modern day with Scott Williams who soon discovers that his friends did not die, but in fact traveled through time. He learns a little too much, however, that ends up endangering himself a bit from those who would do the Knights Templar harm.

Then we see Mark Bell's perspective in the past as he struggles to see someone he loves, Sam, and her husband Tristan back together again after being with Sam so long in the second book. But not all is what it seems, and soon he realizes Sam has been struggling immensely since their return (no spoilers, but it is very sad) and he tried to help her husband Tristan pick up the broken pieces of her heart. As much as seeing Sam in love with another has hurt him, I think he'll be okay. There is another love interest on the horizon. If he could just get out of his head and accept it that is.

Sam's perspective is always my favorite because I love all of the Tristan and Sam moments. They really are a perfect couple! Sam is such a strong heroine. Even after all she's been through, she keeps fighting. She did have a bit of a struggle, but once she was back on the sea with her husband (even though the circumstances were not the best) she became herself again. I must admit, I cried when those that were lost came to visit Sam and Tristan (that was probably one of my favorite scenes of the book) and I cannot wait to continue the series in book 4.

FANTASTIC

Only word to describe this book. Kamery has out done herself. I loved the progression and rythm this author gave to this one, giving the gift of healing for Sam and Tristan. Mark maybe moving forward? To have MacDonald find peace with Isobelle and rise to the leader he is, wonderful.
Only complaint the ending, NOT AGAIN.
Man I can't believe it.

Hidden Away is a continuation of Carried Away story in the Swept Away Saga. Book three starts with POV from Scott in the present time, followed by the team in the past, Mark and ends with Sam. The contents are as entertaining as the previous one and with some twists and turns. My favourite part of the story is the visit to the Bermuda Triangle.

However, all events in the story are slightly dull as they lack the real danger present in the previous books. The main villain does not surface until, of course, the end. Hence, making it the worst cliffhanger ever! Nonetheless, we finally get to read about the characters from Taken Away. Yay!!!

It made me laugh, it made me cry. Kamery has an uncanny knack for pulling the reader into the tale, so that one almost lives the experience with the characters. This is the best book in the series to date!

Think I have the hang of how this saga is going and then it twists. I might have gone with 4 stars but leaving Scott’s story hanging bugs me. Still sticking with our main hero and heroine is engaging.

Now what am I supposed to do??? How am I supposed to wait for Stolen Away to be released? This book was (while fantastical) so interesting! I loved all the different mythologies weaved together.

Hidden Away is the 3rd installment in the Swept Away Saga. You get a great mixture of love, time travel, history, mystery and more. You will not be bored while reading this book. The writing and grammar are on point (so that wont take away from the book).

You get to see more of the story of Sam and Tristan (such a hunky pirate) as well as other characters that you have been missing from the other books.

I hope that you love this book as much as I did.
