A Family for the Officer

Officer Bryce Camden never expected his two-week stint in Comfort Creek, Colorado, would mean diaper duty. But that's exactly what happens when he stays at the local bed-and-breakfast where Lily Ellison is fostering an abandoned baby girl. Bryce is drawn to the lovely B and B owner, but being a dad is not part of his plans. His troubled past has shown him that he's not the nurturing type. But he soon finds himself wishing he didn't have to leave. Because Lily and the baby have taken root in his heart and made him think that maybe he could be a family man after all...

I truly enjoyed this story of redemption and love, all centered around a tiny newborn baby. Bryce is only in town for two weeks, and only because he has to be, but that two weeks in the company of Lily and little "piglet" is enough to change his attitude, and his life.

Deputy Daddy by Patricia Johns is a Comfort Creek Lawmen series. Officer Bryce Camden had a father who also was a deputy but wasn't there for Bryce when he was growing up. Bryce punched another officer. He was sent to a small town for two weeks to due duty there. He stays at a Bed and Breakfast owned by Lily Ellison. A baby is left at the police station and Bryce was told to take care of the baby until the foster parent could come and get her. While Bryce was feeling the baby she gobbled the milk down. Bryce started calling her Piglet. Throughout the book he calls her Piglet. This is a funny story and touching and shows you don't have to grow up to be like your parents if they are bad people. Lily is the foster parents. Lily falls in love with the baby and wants to adopt her. Bryce is falling for Lily but doesn't want children because his father wasn't a good father. A very good read. Cute and touching.

I reviewed this for RT Bookreviews Magazine: https://www.rtbookreviews.com/book-re...

Hope and restoration through God is a key focus in this Comfort Creek Lawmen book. While there is some predictability, the emotions are realistic, and the secondary characters are well incorporated. It starts off a bit slowly, and wraps up a bit too neatly, but it is a pleasant, quick read overall.

Officer Bryce Camden is in town to do a brief stint, so he decides to stay at a local bed & breakfast run by Lily Ellison. Lily is also a foster mother, and she is caring for an abandoned baby named Emily. Despite Bryce’s determination to never be a father — due to the poor example he had — he finds himself drawn to Lily and Emily. Can Lily help Bryce see that he is not his father? Is it possible for Lily to have all she’s desired: a business, a baby and love? (LOVE INSPIRED, Jun., 224 pp., $5.99)

Loved this book, all of Patricia Johns books are just so comforting to read. Her love stories whether in the Amish world or the English world are just so full of love and hope. I love to get my into my favorite reading spot, a nice cup of tea or something cold (depending on the weather) and settle in and I have never been disappointed!! I recommend this book to all!
