This book is soooooo good. Ms. Rose has just got on my top ten authors list with this book. I literally could not put this book down for two days it was so good. It's the crazy (and I mean real crazy) love story of Imani an ICU nurse and Marcus her billionaire mysterious patient. Both characters are extremely broken with horrific pasts that is way too much to go into detail. Their love is intense and obsessive, neither one can ever live without each other. Their proclamation to each other is "You go, I go" and they mean it. The author takes you on a journey of two people who have gone through so much in their lives and then takes the couple through a hurricane not just a storm. What makes this story unique is the fact that the author gives you the instant love but shows you that loving someone can be hard and for that love to last you got to be willing to endure the bad and good. The book is broken up into three parts and over 900 pages long (according to my kindle). I started reading this author a year ago and her books keep getting better with each story. I highly recommend this story.

This is my first time reading this author. Loved the plot ... so worth the read. Full of twists and turns and several who knew happenings in the flawed alpha's life. His caregiver/nurse was a likeable and feisty heroine but watch his family, employees ... it's great writing

Merged review:

This was Marcus Castillo and Imani Jefferson's story and it was a very special relationship from start to end .... that was heartfelt based on how they were introduced to each other. "Unbroken" was just different all around.

Trying not to give out any spoilers is always difficult for me but take my word for it that this is a story you will never forget from the setting, characters and the plot!

I am a reader who likes my stories quick and sexy so I can immediately move on to the next great read but this one stayed with me. Well it had to actually... it was a long one! To say me reading 907 pages, well that within itself is like going back to school so just know that I loved this one! The writing style was excellent with clever pointers. Not one grammatical error that I saw and I most definitely loved that! There was no predictability in this story but let's just say a very good story that I plan to read over and over again.

Imani and Marcus' love was so worth it in this tale because with their memorable past calamities, they were never broken. Read this one fellow readers!

One of January's book of the month 2017!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a temporary review.

This book clocks in at over 1,000 pages -- so, it's a very, very, very long read. If the author had stopped at Book One I would've rated this book 5 Stars but the story went on and on and on and got crazier and crazier and crazier.

Longer review to follow ... soon.

About the book
Imani is a beautiful nurse who was kidnapped and brutally assaulted ten years before. This horrific event swore her off men for life. That’s until she’s assigned to care for this insanely handsome coma patient, Marcus Castillo. She thinks about Marcus constantly whether she’s at work or home and cannot stand to be apart from him for too long. When he awakens from his coma, her name is the first and only name he calls for. There starts this ridiculous, loopy love story gone wrong.

A “Watch Your Head, Please” Introduction
This book will give your headache a headache. I warn readers that if you continue with this review, there will be spoilers. I apologize in advance but I just cannot get across to you the steamy pile of mess this is without laying it all out there. And it rather pissed me off and wasted my time. I should have known after reading the hot mess that was Major’s Baby, this was going to be off the rails, but guess I’m just a book masochist. Anyway, let me start with the negatives and then try to end on a positive note.

Pacing
This book is redundant. So many repetitive passages, and events replayed in different locations. It’s a migraine waiting to explode. It tops off at more than 1,000 pages. Way too much, a serious substantive edit was needed. A lot of words with nothing new to say.

Characters
Imani is the quintessential damsel in distress, which is okay in other stories, but not in this one. It makes little to no damn sense. Looking for a female heroine that isn’t a dunce? Well, do not look here. This woman is as loopy as they come. She constantly faints, and constantly excuses emotionally and physically abusive behavior. Marcus is the embodiment of the neo alpha-male trope. There’s nothing romantic about him aside from the superficial. Which we are reminded of to the point of exhaustion. He’s so hot, oh look at his abs, look at his dewy skin, and piercing green eyes! And yet he’s an overbearing, controlling, mentally and physically abusive psycho. Oh and no story like this is incomplete without a mustache twisting villain or two.

Story
The author tries to justify these poor characterizations under the guise of past trauma and a medical condition, and that may have worked if the female lead (Imani) wasn’t so ready and eager to dismiss the lead male character’s actions all the damn time. What we get is scenes like him choking her out and a heartbeat later her jumping into bed and declaring her undying love to him. We’re told she’s in constant fear of him, he drugs and kidnaps her (hello, call back to her past trauma…) and yet she excuses it, as “the other Marcus, not her Marcus” (not a direct quote from the book, but damn close). They spend most of the story in this never-ending cycle of him screaming, yelling, her fainting, him isolating her from her family and friends (she cannot even get up to go to the bathroom without his permission), and physically assaulting her when he blacks out BEFORE and AFTER they have sex. And by sex I mean, all the time, everywhere, even at church. Yes, I love kinky, and would have been thrilled by this taboo type of scene, but in this book, it just came off as ridiculous and gross! Many things just do not make sense!

Aside from that, other things don’t make a lick of sense. Like his supposed bodyguards conveniently always being a day late and dollar short when they’re supposed to be protecting her from him and all the people out to kill him (because on top of everything he’s also a dangerous, murderous mobster). I mean, really? Everyone’s afraid of him, even his own twin sister. People shake and shiver when he’s around, but Imani’s just like…Oh they’re afraid of bad Marcus, not good Marcus? WTH, lady? Are you serious?

Technical
The copy editing was alright, and aside from what I wrote above and some formatting snafus, it was an easy to read book. Well, easy on the eyes at least.

Final Word
I could go on but it’s so damn exhausting. Reviewing this book is almost as draining as reading it. Almost. On a positive note, I’ll say this about Emerson Rose, she has the potential foundations of a good story. I like how she gives these mental and emotional conditions to her characters, it offers a new spin on these overused and stale genre romance tales. But she cannot seem to take these ideas and build upon them without falling into the bad habit of stereotypes and typical tropes. In Major’s Baby it was OCD, in Unbroken it’s like a multiple personality disorder brought on by a tumor. But that’s where the compelling aspect of her stories begin and end. She does nothing interesting with these issues. She sacrifices what could be deep, nuanced, and intimate storytelling for the inane, overblown and melodramatic. That’s a double shame.

Two things I would like you to know before I end this review, the first is that I had to wait a full day after eighty-sixing this book before writing a review. Yes, it was that exhausting! The second is that this makes attempt number two with an Emerson Rose book, and like the first time, I stopped, started, and stopped again. But it wasn’t working. Tried once more from 63% to 67% and then threw in the towel. If you remember that this is 1,000 + pages, no one can say I did not try my hardest to hang. My best to those of you that can make it to the end. But Three times a charm? No. Not for me. I will not be going for a third attempt at any of her books. Now hand me an aspirin, asap!

My rating: A Could have been better 3.5

Part I
Imani Jefferson is an ICU nurse at Seattle Trinity, a private hospital that caters to an exclusive clientele. Marcus Castillo is a Billionaire Restaurant Entrepreneur originally from Italy owning a worldwide chain called Dominus. After Marcus is in a horrific car accident he becomes an unconscious patient in Imani’s ICU. Imani who was abducted & brutally terrorized for 3 days by 3 men when she was 19 is drawn to Marcus like she has never been drawn to any man before. She talks to Marcus while caring for him in the hopes that he hears her. When he finally wakes the only thing he can do is yell for her. He tells her, her voice saved him from the dark & death. Marcus is used to getting what he wants & no one says 'no' to him because he uses fear to rule his empire. But Marcus doesn’t remember everything about his life for the year prior to his accident. Marcus wants Imani for his private nurse at home & makes a deal with her to make that happen. Once they are settled at his mansion, they have a hard time keeping their hands off one another. Things move fast & they both find themselves in unfamiliar territory relationship wise. They both have suffered from tragic childhood abuse & neither of them has ever let anyone in before now. Just as they admit their love for one another someone breaks into Marcus’ place & the insecurities & feelings of fear come back for Imani. She finds herself running back to her parents & her childhood home.

Part II
Marcus is patient for Imani to come back to him on her own but she stops taking care of herself. When she becomes so ill that she has to be hospitalized, Marcus has had enough. He decides to take her to his home in Italy, only problem being that he doesn’t tell Imani about his plan. While flying to Italy, Imani comes to & sees Marcus praying at the end of her bed. She thinks she is hallucinating & slips back into unconsciousness before any of it makes sense. When she finally awakens & Marcus explains what has happened she is angry about being kidnapping given her history. Things don’t go easily for them because Marcus has a blackout & he ends up hurting Imani. As they try to navigate through the problems associated with his brain tumor, one thing is clear Imani is going to fight help Marcus get better. When she believes she has found a doctor to help, he ends up bringing news with him that shakes the very foundation Imani & Marcus have worked hard to build.

Part III
Imani now has to reconcile the facts of Marcus' life before his car accident with the man she loves & knows today. Hearing that Marcus is the head of an Italian Mob family & everything that goes with it is hard to take in. While Marcus once again lies in a coma, Imani sits next to his bed waiting for him to wake up. Marcus' sister shares that when he had Imani sign papers so she would be taken care of in case something happened to him, one document that was signed was a marriage license. Imani is mad that Marcus felt he needed to trick her into marriage because she would have yes if he had just asked. When Marcus finally does come around his recovery is again threaten by the very man that put him in the hospital. Imani embraces her new found standing as Marcus' mob wife & tells the doctor who has been the source of all their troubles that he will perform Marcus' surgery. That he better not think about harming Marcus because she will make sure he doesn't live if he does. The surgery is long & agonizing but what scares Imani the most is she can't be sure which Marcus will greet her when he wakes up. It seems at long last their lives are going to take a turn for the best when a loving Marcus comes to & Imani is relieved. They soon return home to Seattle from Italy & just when they are given a precious gift that neither of them thought possible the unthinkable happens. Will Imani & Marcus every know peace? Will they be able to have their wedding ceremony as they planned? Who is behind all these bizarre happenings?

This was a trilogy in one book but worth reading every page! It is story about how two damaged people come together & find trust & love in another person. They each lived through ugly pasts that allowed themselves to build emotional walls around their hearts. Not trusting anyone to get close to them other then family & a very few friends. It is a beautiful story in how they grow to find comfort in what they each have to offer. Committing to being honest with one another & working toward healing old wounds by accepting each other as is helps make this love story believable & endearing. This book does have some triggers, it deals with both rape & child abuse so read with caution. This book is meant for mature readers.

Unbroken by Emerson Rose an unbreakable five star read. This is a Bad boy billionaire romance, this is the first book by Emerson Rose I have read, and I am sure it won’t be the last. This is the story of Marcus Castillo a powerful and wealthy man, who has a very controlling personality. He’s in an ICU bed in a coma when we first meet him, and when he comes out of his coma he’s a different man, or is he? He wakes up as he feels someone calling him from the dark depths he is in, a light in a shining darkness. The light he hears is ICU nurse Imani Jefferson, she has a habit of talking to her patients, but something about this patient is special, when she first laid eyes on him she felt a connection, maybe that’s why she can’t let him go, and when his sister comments that he seems mores settled when she is in the room, Imani realises that it goes both ways.
They both have painful pasts; will they be able to help each other to overcome them? or will Marcus need for dominance be too much for Imani to bare. Will Imani be able to get over the fact that he’s a patient? Will they get their happy ever after?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it did lag a bit in the middle, but I think that was me in a book hang over rather than the book, hence why I still gave it a five-star read. It’s well written and deals with Imani struggling when she realises she is falling in love with a patient in a very real and careful manner, it also deals with some of the other issues in such a passionate manner that you can’t help but be sucked into the story.

I was overjoyed when I finally got my hands of this book. It sounded absolutely fantastic. And guess what, it truly is. I love it deeply!
We first meet Imani, who is an ICU nurse. She has had a truly horrific past and no man has ever demolished her walls, until Marcus!
Marcus is Imani's newest ICU patient, who was in a terrible car accident. Everyone fears him and Imani doesn't understand why! She is drawn to Marcus like no other. She talks to him and makes him listen to music while he is in his coma. So when he finally comes around, Imani is the person he needs the most, and she comes running!
From there, he gets her to be his home nurse and their relationship takes other turn. She falls madly, deeply in love with him and he falls for her. She has all the power over him and she doesn't even realise it.
And she just can't say no to him either.
This book has so many twists and turns that you don't see coming. You couldn't even predict any of it, even if you tried, so it's like one shock after another!
At certain points though it does get you shouting at both Imani and Marcus (well for me anyway). I hated Marcus at certain points but then in the next sentence I was in love again.
So many emotions run through you while reading this book.
Sometimes I wanted to deck Imani just for being stupid, and giving into Marcus's every demand and not truly putting up a fight. Sometimes she just seemed so weak.
Marcus is a control freak and he likes everything to be done his way. He uses manipulation to get what he wants but Imani does it right back too.
He can be the most loving person but only with Imani and nobody can fathom why when they witness it. In his life before his accident he was cold, nasty, unforgiving and a menace. There is also a reason for that but you will have read to find out!
I truly believe that this is Emerson's best work yet and you will not be disappointed by this book at all.
I got really frustrated reading this book, and it wasn't the books fault! Oh no, it was the interruptions! (Shouldn't have read it 3 days before Christmas). So I suggest you hide for a couple of days (its not a quick read) if you want to truly indulge in the Imani and Marcus love fest! It is truly unique they way they love each other and how in tune Marcus is with Imani's thoughts (which I found quite wondrous and was a little scared lol) and her emotions.
I could go on and on about this book but that would give everything away and that would spoil all the shocks lol! But as I have previously stated I truly loved this book!

Praise the lord, it's over. Review to come

Something else … yeah that would be my one liner to describe “Unbroken” by Emerson Rose.

To be fair and honest … that book is unrealistic and has a bunch of what I call plot holes but believe it or not it is my first 5 star read of the year 2017 that made it to my “Hot Reads” Blog list and it took me a long time to even think about writing a review.

First of all this story is LONG … like in “other authors would have made 3 books at least out of this”-LONG – so you can throw all of your usual ideas on how a plot should develop out the window .. and right along with that you should throw out your thoughts about potholes and realistic story development.

When you did that and you are open for an over the top experience of one of the most confusing alpha males than you are ready to meet Marcus. If you ever felt “THIS MAN” Jesse Ward that came from the pen of Jodi Ellen Malpas was infuriating well you did not meet Marcus then.

Still even if he was as confusing as the story was he was still one of the most loveable Alphas that I read lately ... at least MOST OF THE TIME (and you can consider THAT comment a spoiler for you to wonder).

There were pretty unrealistic parts hidden in the plot but if I neglect those the basic made a real intriguing story that captured my attention - hook, line and sinker. I might have had a few “what is going on” moments that were paired with “you can’t be serious” outbursts. But still I never considered putting the book aside – I simply could not.

This one had me clutching my proverbial pearls. I can't believe that I am saying this, but there was TOO much sex. This is my first book from this author so I am not sure if over-sexed leads are a common thing. Not only was there too much sex, which I still can't believe I am saying, but it occurred at odd points in the story thus detracting from the plot. I began skipping those sections after the unnecessary church sex scene.
All of that being said, thank you for fitting everything into 1 book. The length was not an issue for me because I hate cliffhangers.

Marcus is a powerful alpha male who gets in a car accident and lands in a hospital in a coma. Imani is a nurse whit a dark past. While watching over Marcus she develops feelings for him and once he wakes up it's on.

This was a pretty good read and great character development my only issue was the story was just too long. I believe the author could have taken some parts out and still left the story entertaining

What a Ride!

I usually finish books in a day but this I didn't want to finish too soon. Marcus got a second chance to be a good guy and Imani got a chance to experience real love. Their story is an adventure filled with love, sadness and excitement.

I was really torn between 4 and 5 stars for this book. And boy what a book it is - it is in three parts and each part is the same length as most romance books around. This is one EPIC saga and I suggest beginning to read it first thing in the morning when you absolutely nothing to do for a couple of days because YOU WILL NOT WANT TO PUT THIS DOWN - but heck my kindle wasn't kidding when it said it would take over 12 hours to read this!

For sheer depth and range of emotion this book hits 5 stars and the story has more ups and downs, twists and turns than the best of roller-coaster rides. In fact by the end of the book I was emotionally wrung out in only the way a supremely good book can achieve. There are over 100 chapters and we seem to learn something new about either Imani, Marcus or their history in each one. They are both well written characters, the plot is addictive and the emotion bursts from every page. I should have been bored at times with a book this long, particularly as in some scenes not much actually happened. However these scenes that were there to convey the intense feelings and emotions of the main characters, to pull us into the amazing bond that they have and make us a part of that connection. They were gripping.

If the book is so good why did I drop a star? Because I felt the author used the same scenario/reaction just a little too often. Marcus would do something to upset/anger/distress Imani but one smile or wink and she had instantly forgiven him. The author does repeatedly stress how they have both found their soul mates and the love of their lives but I found it difficult to believe that with both their traumatic pasts, she could let some of Marcus' actions go by so easily and quickly. At times it made Imani seem a little weak. However it didn't spoil the book and is probably more to do with how I would react to a situation ... and at least the author was consistent with Imani's character.

The book is written 1st person from mainly Imani's POV but with some chapters from Marcus' POV. I was pleased that the author included scenes from Marcus' perspective as it made it easier to like and understand him. The book has some dark, dark themes at times, although the majority are things that happened in the past for both of them. However these obviously have an impact in their present.

This is not a will they won't they get together book. It is more a will they live to get a HEA with a huge side order of mystery, suspense, terror and intrigue. Oh and lots of hot, steamy scenes too.

What an emotional and beautiful romance story that defies the odd of what love should and can be. This is Imani and Marcus’s love story. It isn’t the type where boy meets girl, boy gets girl and they live happily ever after. This is filled with angst, pain, distrust, passion, heartbreak, betrayal, caring, and most of all , Love.
Imani is an ICU nurse at a hospital in Seattle when she meets this patient who’s in a coma one night and this patient changes her life. That patient is Marcus. He’s broken, in terrible shape yet he is the most handsome man she has seen in her life. Its like she is being tempted into sin and she is unsure of what to do. She feels strangely drawn to this patient, this man. She takes care of Marcus while he is in this coma and when he comes out of it, first person he wants is Imani. Marcus isn’t a man you cross, he is dominant, strong, even while in a hospital bed. He is wildly successful and when he speaks, everyone stops to listen.
Their worlds collide to never be the same again. They are on a collision course and the outcome is one that neither of them saw. I do not want to give too much away because it would tell you the outcome in the story but OMG this was on hot story that has a lot of angst and a lot of pain on both main characters’ sides. I felt so bad for each yet I can see why they were drawn to each other. There is a lot of hot, steamy, erotic scenes between Marcus and Imani. Their passion felt real and so right. I loved the ending in the story because it was the icing on a delicious and rich cake. I highly recommend this fantastic novel.

Unbroken is different from a typical Emerson Rose book. It veers off the course of her usual romance novels, it has a darker undertone. But, don't let that stray you away because the story is still the usual Emerson Rose brilliance. The magnitude of strength, devotion, sacrifice, and love between Marcus and Imani is indescribable. These two people defy all odds. The true complexity of this novel makes you appreciate Rose an author even more than you already do. Rose gave us everything in this story, raw, uncut and rippling with intense passion. Intriguingly sensual, enigmatic, tumultuous, heartbreaking, heart pounding, heart warming, and awe inspiring, Marcus and Imani's story is one that is unlike any other Rose book you ever encountered. I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review

Imani (Nurse) - Heroine
Marcus (Bar/Restaurant Owner Billionare) - Hero

Marcus gets into a car accident and is in a coma. Imani is the nurse who takes care of him. She talks to him while he is in a coma. When he wakes up from his coma, he calls for Imani. From there, their story begins. Imani suffered something very tramtic 10 years before. She was kidnapped and kept hostage for 3 days.

Imani over does it by calling Marcus "Mr. Bossy Pants". I felt as if I was told he was a bossy, alpha hero instead of coming to that conclusion on my own. Also, some of the things that happen in the story made me roll my eyes.

The firs part of the book was good, but then I found the story dragging. I felt the book was too long.

I received an ARC in exchange for a voluntary review of this novel. It was LONG...and I was wishing that there were more pages when the book ended! The bond between Marcus and Imani was so strong that it pulled him from the brink of death! Her love (and brain surgery) changed him from a sadistic monster to Prince Charming! I loved this novel! Thanks for an excellent read!

Wonderful

First off, the book was like three full length books in one. You would think that would be too much but it was just enough. I loved all the twist and turns. There weren't too many ridiculous decisions being made. It was a book of unconditional love.

I received an ARC copy for a honest review.

Imani Jefferson is a ICU nurse in Seattle. She's had her current job for 10 years. Due to a horrific and emotional past she doesn't trust men and has sky high walls, she does however feel a tug towards her latest patient who's in a coma.
Marcus Castillo is a billionaire and very controlling in all aspects in his life. After waking from a coma he needs Imani - no one else will do.
Can they help each other overcome obstacles or will they be kept apart? I really enjoyed this story, some difficult subjects but handled so carefully within the story.

What an absolutely fabulous story, Emerson Rose draws you in and keeps you captivated!! I loved this novel and would definitely recommend it to other readers. It is a lengthy story but never boring and the hotness factor is off the charts! OMG look at all the exclamation marks, and this author deserves every one, maybe more. I would definitely read anything Emerson Rose writes.

Imani is an ICU nurse and is assigned a new patient, Marcus, after he is admitted after his car wrecks into a river. Imani starts to fall for Marcus while he is still in a coma and talks to him during her shifts.

Marcus wakes up, and immediately calls for Imani. That is the start of their whirlwind relationship.

Marcus has a past, part if it he doesn't remember and another part that he wishes he didn't remember. His personality has taken a change for the better.

They both have issues that they have to get over in order to have to have a relationship.

Imani does a lot of worrying, which at some parts got annoying since she kept worrying about the same things over and over again, even after she told Marcus she wouldn't worry anymore.

I loved how Marcus was completely different with Imani than he had been in the past and how willing he was to show that love. He knew right after meeting her that he wanted to marry her, but waited since she wasn't there yet.

This is a very long book, 107 chapters, but it will take you on so many rollercoasters of feelings, that it is worth all of the time it takes to read it. The epilogue is just a perfect ending to their story. I would love to see more about their future. Hopefully we get another book about another family member that we get to see Imani and Marcus and their family.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Unbroken is about Imani and Marcus. Imani was kidnapped at age 19, held, beaten, raped, and tortured for three days before being rescued. Ten years later, she is an ICU nurse who cannot seem to open herself up to men (for obvious reasons). Only her parents and sister know what happened to her, so it's understandable that her friends try and try to get her to go on dates. One day when she shows up to work, her coworker tells her about their newest patient. They work in a small, upscale hospital in Seattle, so Imani has seen and taken care of many rich, famous, and powerful people. She is not prepared for what awaits her in room 8 of the ICU.

Marcus was in a car accident that killed his passenger and put him in a coma, which landed him in Imani's hospital. From the moment Imani lays eyes on Marcus, she is drawn to him. And not just because he's so obviously gorgeous (despite his injuries). No, there is just something about him. She takes care of him as an ICU nurse should, but feels the need to stay with him, even feeling jealous and possesive of handing his care over to the next shift. She knows from experience that comatose patients can sometimes hear what's said around them, so she talks to him while she cares for him, explaining everything she does for him, and tells him that she's there waiting for him to come back. She even creates a playlist of music for him and plays it for him during her shifts.

On a rare night out with her friends, Imani gets a frantic call from her coworker. She's told that Marcus has woken and is screaming for her. She leaves her friends at the bar and rushes to the hospital. When she gets there and says his name, he immediately calms down and then whispers her name. Marcus practically begs Imani not to leave him, and she agrees. In fact, she rarely leaves his side and he ends up manipulating her to take a leave of absence from the hospital to take care of him full-time at his home.

That is only the beginning if this epic love story of two soul mates finding each other and fighting to stay together. Marcus has his own torturous past and Imani is warned that he is not a nice man, by many people. They have many battles to overcome, lots of intrigue, so many sweet romantic moments, tons of hot sex scenes, some very sad moments, plenty of happy moments...just everything. Epic was the only term that came to mind. I was hooked on this book from the very beginning and only stopped reading when I couldn't keep my eyes open. Get your copy and find out what happens with Imani and Marcus!

Buckle up for a roller coaster ride in this book from Emerson Rose. Imani Jefferson has been through a nightmare you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy, but she survives. Her life may be one on routine and not veering out of what is comfortable. She thought that her job as a nurse was going to be the extent outside of the family and few friends she lets into her life, but all that changes when she is assigned to a new patient. Marcus Castillo is brought in after a car accident an in a coma, talking to him while she is in his room passes the time and hopefully helps him in the process. What she didn't count on was him demanding to see her the second his eyes open. What follows is an adventure her running scared, the two off to Italy and back, someone out to destroy the slice of heaven they have found in each other and more miracles than sometime Marcus thinks he deserves. He knows he was a different man before the accident and after Imani is the reason he is changing, to try to deserve her. While this is a long book, broken into three parts, it had me hooked and waiting to see what was going to happen next. I loved this book from Emerson Rose. “You go, I go”

Meet Imani.

An ICU nurse at a hospital in Seattle.
She loves her job, caring for patients, consoling family members and watching patients mend.
But Imani is broken internally.
After a horrific (and I mean painfully horrific) trauma that she suffered at the age of 19, Imani painfully had to rebuild her life all over again.

While working one night a patient is brought in after being involved in a motor vehicle accident. Imani is the patients nurse. Walking into the room what she discovers is breathtaking. He’s broken, hurt, battered and bruised, but he’s breathtakingly beautiful with a chiseled body, muscles galore.
He’s like a god sent from above.

Meet Marcus.

Strong, independent and sinfully sexy.
He’s successful to the highest degree.
When he speaks, people listen.
They are a means to an end.
Marcus will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
But he’s broken, battered and bruised.
He can’t open his eyes.
The main is indescribable.
He’s surrounded by darkness.
But he can hear her.
She is an angel sent from heaven.
Her voice is soothing to his soul.
He needs to see her.
It’s time to come out of this coma that has left Marcus dependant and confused.

It’s time for Marcus to me Imani.
It’s time for Imani to meet Marcus.
It’s time for their worlds to collide, never to be the same again.

Guys I seriously will not give you anything more than this because you need to read this amazing novel to appreciate it’s beauty, it’s raw emotion and depth.

But I will say this.
Welcome to a world of sheer heartache and pain.
Welcome to a world hurt and torment.
Welcome to a world of secrets and deception.
Welcome to a world of hope and love.
Welcome to Marcus’s and Imani’s worlds, where love will find a way, no mater what the cost and sacrifice.

Emerson Rose has given us perfection with Unbroken and I cannot recommend this novel high enough.
Believe me when I say, once you start you won’t stop.

A very emotional 5 star read.

OHHHH MMY GOOOOOD!!!!! I loved this book so much just for the fact that it was an actual full 700+ page book and not those, "ooh there is a surprise book or 2 at the end!" This story had EVERYTHING I have been looking for: love, unpredictableness, family, pain, etc. I love how she really changed him for the better. I just wish we got to see more about her past, and that the ending was more...just more. Like I get that their sibling did not like them for her reasons but I wish we got more background on her...actually everyone. Like more on Imani's past, Marcus' past with his sister or just in general, and Tamila's past. I also wish that we got read about the twins/triplets birth instead of 3 years into the future(but I did love the epilogue!!!)

All in all I LOVED IT and would love a sequel to hear more about them or maybe with one of their kids older or even Elena's story with Enrique

I cannot praise this book highly enough....it is dark, yes, but there is so much more to it.

The author sweeps us along through so many emotionally charged scenes.

The characters are well described and the plot is gripping.

Marcus and Imani both have demons from their pasts which rule their every action and impact negatively on their lives. But together...oh, together they become more than their pasts...they are soul mates..

Their journey to HEA is not an easy one. They have to contend with medical problems (change of personality due to a head injury, comas, blindness, infertility), traitors in their midst, someone out for revenge, and the effects of separation.

But overall this is a beautiful love story...just remember to have tissues at hand.

Very emotional read with many unexpected twists! Marcus was known to be a cruel and ruthless person before he has an accident off a bridge. That accident leads him to an ICU where Imani is escaping her own awful past. No man makes it past her walls let alone to be with her. But as fate has it, she is immediately drawn to the unconscious Marcus. When he wakes it is with one person on his mind, and that's Imani. By talking to him while he's in the coma, he begins his link to her. He gets her to be his home nurse, which just begins a very long journey to love. Many twists, turns, surprises and drama fill their story. But there's a HEA and a beautiful ending. Definitely a book you will enjoy. It s long, so don't expect to read it in one sitting!

Imani Jefferson, an ICU nurse, believes that she is destined to be single due to an event in her life when she was nineteen. She survived the horror of being kidnapped and tortured only to keep her distance from all men ever since...until she gets a new patient at the hospital, Marcus Castillo. Imani can not understand why she feels so drawn to Marcus, why she seems to have a connection to him. This was a book that had so much that drew me in...mysterious stalkers, creepy employees, and of course the mystery of learning all about Marcus. I'm going to keep this short and sweet, there are too many details you need to learn on your own. If you're looking for a new alpha hottie, I do believe Marcus will fill that slot!
