Taryn's Camera #8

The Haunting of Bloody Moor: A Ghost Story

Rate this book
A crumbling mansion, dozens of unsolved murders, and a King Arthur mystery. This is one haunted house Taryn will never forget!

The astrologer told her that her destiny awaited in Wales. She should have known the ghosts were waiting, too.

Taryn's latest assignment has her traveling to the haunted Welsh mansion that supposedly once housed the Holy Grail. These days, however, the formerly grand home is crumbling around her and the cantankerous caretaker is not pleased to meet Taryn–especially since her camera is revealing parts of the house's torrid and bloody history that locals would rather forget.

Isolated and lonely on the Irish Sea, she slowly gets to know this isolated home that the people of Lampeter refer to as "The Cursed." Still, Taryn is nevertheless excited to explore the surrounding countryside and get to know the place of her ancestors. She loves exploring the vast moors, countless rooms, and quaint village down the road. When the mansion's caretaker winds up dead, however, all eyes are pointing at Taryn.

Even with its torried past, nobody is going to believe that the house is responsible for his death. It's up to Taryn to prove that history does repeat itself. Will she be able to fight the ghosts, clear her name, and solve the mystery of the house before she becomes the haunted mansion's next victim?

A traditional ghost story and supernatural suspense thriller.

Seriously in need of an editor

I liked the book for the most part story and character wise. The need for a good editor really pulled me out of the story more than once. Wrong word used that looked like autocorrect helped out, using the wrong character name in part that made the section make no sense, and so forth. Small things, but left the book with an unfinished or unpolished feel

Une histoire de fantômes somme toute gentillette malgré une ambiance angoissante. Un peu plus de frissons aurait été bienvenu.

Loved it

The Taryn books are one of my favorite series, and this one, though a bit different from the other books, is a great addition. I loved that she mixed in the Grail legends with the story of the house and her trip to Glastonbury made my day. The Arthur legends have been close to my heart since I was a child, and like Nicky and Taryn, the "Mists of Avalon" changed my life. The connections made in this book makes it my favorite in the series. As always, the book is well written and with appealing characters. Taryn's personal growth is also a focus in this book.

So. If you haven't read the Taryn's Camera series, get busy and read from the beginning, because you won't want to miss a thing.

Bloody Moor

Always enjoy the characters, the storyline was a light hearted paranormal mystery. The rushed editing left the book with many little errors. I don't mind a couple however there were at least a dozen. I still enjoyed the story.

Loved the story

I also love the series. This one however had a lot of spelling and grammatical mistakes in the book. I guess that the editors missed these with their rush to get the book published
They did detract a bit from the enjoyment of the book, which is why it received 4 and not the 5 usual stars.
I love that this book hasn't been a jumpy or as dangerous to Taryn or the other characters in the book but that's not stopped Miss Dixi picking up on what's been left behind over the centuries.
I love how the book is based in Wales as it too is also my spiritual home as my mother is Welsh and I grew up with my cousins there during school holidays and my daughter has grown up with their children.
This is how I also know that the Welsh language is now being taught in schools again.
I am wondering what secrets have in stall for Sarah's House. Yikes.

Good story, but needs proof reading

I have read all the Taryns's Camera books and this is the first one I've found to have a huge amount of grammar errors, misused words, and misspelled words. It's as though the story was rushed to release and the author didn't have the chance to get it edited or proof read prior to release.

The story is interesting, and the side characters are fun to explore. The problems with the text were a distraction, but I still found it worth reading and recommending if corrections are made.

Wonderful

Once again, Rebecca has crafted an amazing book. I could hardly put the book down. I feel like I know Taryn and live how she has evolved through the series. I'm sad robin's there is only one more book in the series.

Great series

So I have read all of these and think they're all great. This one has many grammatical errors, but with a great story; who cares? All of Taryn's adventures are worth reading about, and all are stand alone so you can start anywhere in the series.

Another great story in an amazing series of books.

I found the first book in this series by accident but I am so glad I did. Each book has a different and amazing story to tell that drags you in to the point that you can truly believe you can see the pictures coming to life.
I would highly recommend this series of books.

Excellent book

Like all of Rebecca Patrick Howard books this one was hard to put down. She always puts the reader in the middle of the characters world and you fall in love with them. I always miss them when the books finished and almost morn for them, who have become important to me. Don't know how she does it but by gosh she does each book she writes.

This is my favorite book in this series! Taryn finally did it, she broke free from Matt and went out to experience the world! She always was a very strong and independent person, I never understood why she needed to rely on Matt so much? Anyway, the point is that I really enjoyed this book because she just let go of everything that tied her down and she took a risk that definitely taught her so much about herself and her own inner strength.
