Blake Walker is no stranger to tragedy. Immediately following a horrific event years earlier, he was lost for a while until he embraced his Dominant nature and found his true calling. But things change and now he’s back where he started, helping to run his family’s secluded lake lodge. When pampered Hollywood starlet Shasta Pyke gets into trouble with the law, she’s sent to the wilderness of northern Ontario to cool her heels for a few weeks. There she meets sexy bush pilot Blake, who is tasked with seeing to her needs as the sole guest at the lodge. Initially, Blake isn’t impressed with the spoiled actress, but he’s happy that her visit allows for his sister Jackie and her kids to go on a much-needed vacation. Try as he might, he can’t figure out what the hell Shasta Pyke is doing so far out of her element. Shasta’s attracted to Blake’s obvious good looks, but there’s more to him than that. He sees through her armor to the vulnerable little girl she hides from the world. The Daddy Dominant in him craves to shelter her, to make her his own. Is there any way Shasta will agree to submit to Blake’s Dominance? Lost & Bound is Book 2 of Pandora Spocks’ Dream Dominant Collection, a series of stand-alone novels featuring sexy, Dominant men, and the strong, red-haired submissives who find them irresistible. It is a contemporary erotic romance novel with a light BDSM theme, and features a DD/lg relationship, and is intended for mature audiences.
Pandora Spocks is a sassy ginger and hopeless romantic, living her happily ever after in South Florida.
Pandora has had stories pinballing around in her head for years. At one point, she spent hours daydreaming in Mrs. Howe's ninth grade algebra class. She didn't learn much algebra, but she had some really good ideas. Recently she decided to try her hand at sharing those stories with others.
She enjoys reading and writing literary erotic romance, and believes there should be more gingers in erotica. She is the author of the three-novel epic romance Rannigan’s Redemption, and a naughty little romantic novella, Just One Night. The Dream Dominant Collection, a series of light BDSM stand-alone novels, includes Luke & Bella, Lost & Bound, and For Sparrow.
Pandora is currently at work on her next spicy romance.
I was given an advanced review copy of Lost and Bound and finished reading it in two days. I also read Spocks' Just One Night and loved it, but this one was even better! I don't read a lot of BDSM because sometimes it offends me because it makes the submissive character seem like a victim with no dignity. That wasn't at all an issue for me with this book. What I loved most about this book was that Blake and Amy (Shasta) had suffered in the past and were able to move forward through the solace they found in each other's arms. Their vulnerabilities and weaknesses were nicely counterbalanced with their strengths and amazing traits. Their difficult pasts and how they coped were shown in a way that didn't make either of the characters come across as weak, just as struggling humans like all of us. Also, even though the BDSM sex scenes were titillating and hot, Blake treated Amy in a way that showed deep love and protectiveness. The BDSM scenes sizzled, but also resonated with deep emotion and didn't denigrate Amy as a character. Spocks has me hooked and I look forward to reading more of her books.
Another easy 5 stars for Pandora Spocks. This book will be released on Jan. 31 and if you love erotica, this is a must read. Well, all her books are.
Lost & Bound is part of Pandora's Dream Dominant Collection, light BDSM romance novels. It's fascinating and she writes so naturally.
In Lost & Bound, Actress and brat Shasta Pyke finds herself in a wilderness camp after an embarassing scene with her ex-boyfriend. Either agree to that or spend time in jail. She meets Blake, a wilderness counselor and dominant. Blake recognizes the lost girl in Shasta, and invites her to be his submissive - not so he can dominate her in a bad way, silly, dream dominants take good care of their baby girls, and they're usually strong, accomplished and sensitive men.
For ADULTS only. The love scenes are HOT as Blake introduces Shasta to his type of lovemaking. On the other hand, the romance is deeply touching. What I like most about Pandora's Dream Dominant books, is that the romance tackles deeper needs than the regular romance novels. These needs are not so different from yours and mine, and it's easy to relate to her well developed characters, if you can get past your... inhibitions.
This book and its author were recommended by a friend, but I confess to feeling a little sceptical. The world of BDSM, subs, doms, et cetera is an unknown quantity for me because, without wanting to go into too much detail, I am decidedly a "vanilla" person. However, I am happy to have had my presumptions turned on their heads.
LOST AND BOUND is an excellent book, skilfully penned with solid plotting, intuitive characterisation and style. It has suspense, humour, a bit of action and, obviously, plenty of sex. Hollywood wild-child Shasta Pyke (AKA Amy) is sent to "rehab" following a violent altercation with an ex. Her agent, a shifty character, manages to wangle her into a wilderness lodge in Canada. There she meets Blake, a lost soul who's had more than his share of grief. Their relationship seems unlikely to succeed, but have they found kindred spirits in one another?
Of course, this is literary erotica, and there is sufficient steaminess to satisfy the most ardent of the genre's fans. Sex scenes are graphically depicted, yet there is a sensitivity, too. The kinky games are tender rather than sordid, and the emotional engagement with the reader is superb. I found myself yearning for Blake and Amy; I wanted them to overcome their troubled pasts and find love.
In conclusion, Pandora's novel is a multi-faceted tour de force, one which is sure to please her audience, and anyone who enjoys good writing. An easy five stars from me!
Erotic Romance has never figured in my kine of reading. So I started on this with a slight smile. We enter the bratty world of young movie star Shasta, who makes a fool of herself, get arrested and sent off for rehab which her agent manages to change to a wild life type hotel up in Canada. Blake runs the establishment and is a troubled individual who finds release in Dominance parlours. After a shaky start Shasta and he are mutually attracted. This is where I began to learn a few things, e.g. Doms and subservients..He assumes the role of Daddy, "yes Daddy" and she frequently submits to any of his wishes in what ever the varied sexual request. Well I won't reveal more but just to sayI was surprised by the ease and fluency of Ms. Spock's writing. I wasn't prepared for that and had expected coarse and rough text. She handled her narrative with light and consummate ease and made it easy to read I give her 5stars
Shasta Pyke (not her real name) has put her Hollywood starlet career in jeopardy with a high-profile scandal. Packed off to a remote wilderness lodge by her agent, she meets Blake Walker, a bush pilot with tragedy in his past and a hunger for a very specific kind of relationship he's never been able to find. What will happen between these two very different people, when events conspire to leave them alone together in the northern Ontario wilderness?
For one thing, Blake will test Shasta's boundaries, looking to see if she really might be the woman he's dreamed of. For another, Shasta will have to decide whether Blake can be trusted -- with her safety, and with her true self, long buried by a lifetime in the spotlight.
Lost & Bound is an erotic romance, so it gets very explicit at times, though the love story holds the spotlight much more than the sex scenes. I thought both were well done; the romance suckered me in more than the naughty bits only because I'm more into romance than dominance and submission. Both the leads shine, with fun, likeable personalities and emotionally meaningful backstories. We're sure they'll end up with each other somehow (or will they?), but the different lives they come from make it a challenge and a mystery as to how. Pandora Spocks knows how to tease two characters together, building romantic heat and suspense while drawing us deeper and deeper into their lives and their inner worlds. She also knows how to paint a breathtaking picture of the characters' surroundings: gorgeous Canadian lakes and forests and rough-hewn cabins sometimes battered by storms.
I feel obligated to note that one scene crossed my boundaries. I came pretty close to docking the book a star because it took me a while to shake that scene off, and my enjoyment of the story was impaired until I did. [Vague spoilers here:] Although Blake never forces Shasta to do anything, there's an early moment when he takes advantage of her emotional state in a way I found unfair and borderline coercive. She turns out to be entirely willing, but readers with strong notions of consent may find Blake out of their good graces until he proves himself as the novel moves along. On the other hand, for all I know, regular readers of BDSM stories may wonder what the heck I'm making such a big deal out of. [End spoilers]
Ultimately, this book brings together a very interesting set of dualities. Blake has a driving need to protect and dominate, yet he is also kind, sensitive, and determined to see Shasta flourish. Shasta is ambitious and strong-willed, yet she also yearns to find a place of safety where she can relinquish control. The play and weave of their personalities makes for great entertainment as they circle and feel one another out, then for sparks and heat as they connect with ever-greater passion.
I had a lot of fun reading this one, and look forward to seeing what else Pandora Spocks has up her sleeves ...
Disclaimer: I received this book as an Advance Reader's Copy. However, having read Spocks before, I would have been perfectly happy buying a copy if the opportunity to give it an early read hadn't arisen.
I’ve read just about everything Spocks has published, and I am never disappointed. Lost and Bound is no exception. The story is both sweet and spicy, with just enough tension to make it interesting but not so much that it makes me too anxious to keep reading. The BDSM angle doesn’t cross into abuse as as many such novels, unfortunately, do. I enjoyed watching how the romantic relationship helped both main characters to heal and grow as people. The setting and secondary characters were vivid and engaging. Spocks is, as far as I’m concerned, one of the best contemporary erotic romance writers on the scene today. This is a great one to try. You’ll download the rest soon after, I’d wager.
I’ve read everything Pandora Spocks has written and published ever since Luke and Bella. Her work is getting better with each next novel, her style is just as smart and sexy, with a solid dose of romance, adventure, action and sensual kink. She has the ability to create well-rounded, lovable characters of both genders, no matter if they are her protagonists or the secondary players in her stories. The world in which she sets her plots is always well-constructed and with vivid descriptions that allow us to truly get lost in her tale.
One of my favorite BDSM plot lines/situations/themes involves the bratty, arrogant young woman getting knocked down a few pegs and learning more about herself through submission and humility. However, Shasta Pyke, the kickass redhead of the story, a spoiled Hollywood child star and a ‘kitten’ in need of proper taming, turned out to be a lot more than that. She was a merciless tease, not hesitating to use her beauty and charm to her advantage. However, she was also an insecure little girl under her sophisticated ‘armor’ whose strange life of early fame and money left her lost and confused about who she was. The personal drama that pushed her fiery temper and was the reason for Shasta’s brush with the law, the guilt she’s been carrying inside her brought another layer of complexity to her character. Usually, whenever I read an erotic romance with BDSM themes I really hate it when the Dom in the story instantly assumes that the heroine is a submissive. Still, it was done very well in here as it was clear that Shasta could use some guidance and a firm hand that was always missing in her life.
Blake, the bush pilot and ‘mountain’ man, the ‘Daddy’ to her ‘kitten’, has excellent observation skills and powerful intuition. I could buy it that he saw through her act and recognize her vulnerable nature beneath the tough act and flirty starlet attitude. Still, he wasn’t overly arrogant about it and didn’t accept Shasta’s being ‘a natural sub’ as if it was a sure thing. At first, I thought his character would be the ultimate cliché of a macho man living by his own rules. From the very first scene with him, we get to know him as a strong but caring, sensitive soul longing for a very specific kind of connection with the woman by his side. As the blurb stated he was no stranger to tragedy but that didn’t make him cold, hateful or overly cynical. Another thing I really loved was that he and his friend/mentor Scott were regular attendants of BDSM clubs and yet there was none of the usual “I’m using kink play to escape true intimacy and just use women to fill the black hole in me” kind of nonsense. He was a man without commitment issues who was simply exploring his sexuality while looking for his match.
I wasn’t sure how those two would end up together, at times it seemed like an impossible affair. Still, Ms. Spocks worked her magic and made their relationship progress in a really natural way. By the middle of the novel, I was really rooting for Shasta and Blake to stay together. They were completing each other in a perfect way in spite the differences in their lifestyle and proved to be exactly what they needed in spite of the obstacles. Their lovemaking was truly a thing of beauty. Speaking of that, I really loved the sex scenes and the fact that Pandora added more kink and more various play and tools to Shasta and Blake’s scenes. Even if I’m a fan of her writing and enjoyed Luke and Bella I felt that the kink and BDSM themes were way too light. I love her progress in Lost and Bound and how much more adventurous the two characters are. Perhaps the only thing that irked me is the ‘Daddy’ part of the Dom Daddy/Little Girl but that is entirely personal preference. There was nothing even remotely incestuous about their relationship.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, the emotional and sexual development, the characters, the gorgeous landscapes and the resolution that worked out for the best for everyone involved. If you want a feel good, intelligent and beautifully written story of kink and romance, Pandora Spocks is a great choice. Five Bound Stars.
I Voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book****
This is the first book by Pandora Spocks that I have read. I do have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The story was romantic, sexy, suspensful and enticing! I will definitely be reading more from her in the future.
Shasta Pyke was only 23 years old. Yet, during those 23 years she had to grow up fast. Acting since she was 6 months old, it was the only thing she had ever known. Sure she felt entitled and used her curves to get her way, but when she's arrested for attacking her ex at a restaurant, shes forced to attend "rehab". However, her version of rehab was not a wilderness lodge in the boondocks of Canada. Shasta just followed her managers words and went along with it. Little does Shasta know but her life is about to change in more ways than she could have ever imagined. The caretaker/owner of this fine establishment also happens to be FINE himself. Shasta thinks she can use this to her advantage. Not likely. Blake is a brood of a man as well as a Sexy God. He lives at the lodge to help out his sister after her husband left her and their 2 kids. Blake hasnt had a relationship in many years. Preferring to go to a club once a month to fulfill his desires. Hes not your average joe. He prefers BDSM and he prefers to be a dominant. Not to many women understand it nor welcome it. When starlit Shasta Pyke shows up to the wilderness lodge for 6 weeks, Blake is her only source of companionship. Shasta may be hot and beautiful, but Blake only prefers his way of pleasure. When Shasta seeks him out, Blake can only indulge her as another person to communicate with. However, when Blake starts getting to know Amy aka Shasta, he is pulled towards her in a way he has never experienced before with a woman. Will Amy be able to accept him for who he really is? Will Blake reject Amys advances? These two have some hot and heavy moments and find a partner in each other faster that traditionally speaking. Yet, their desires and love can only meet in the middle when it really comes down to the trutg of the matter. These two find what they are looking for in one another without looking for it.
This was an Exciting read and the sexy moments were EXPLOSIVE!
I feel so lucky to have gotten an ARC of this book! After reading (and loving) Luke & Bella, I was excited to see where author Pandora Spocks would go with her next Dream Dominants installment. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed! This story is HOT, first of all - exactly what you want in an erotic romance. The characters mesh together perfectly, the protagonists and as well as their delightful cast of supporting characters. As usual, Ms. Spocks portrays a healthy, loving, respectful, and downright sexy BSDM relationship. This is the real deal, and it's beyond fun. Pre-order your copy today!
Shasta is in trouble and her manager arranges for her to go to "rehab" only it's really a wilderness camp where she meets Blake. They both have a past, but she's really the one he's been waiting for - can they work through all the problems that land at the door, and a bonus Scott who is Blake's mentor shows up and falls for his sister.
This is my first book by this author and I was instantly enthralled by the story and characters. Blake is an outdoor man and has demons in his past Shasta is a movie star who has no direction. The two meet and there are sparks and challenges. The supporting characters are interesting. I totally enjoyed it. Good book
Lost & Bound took me on a riveting, emotionally-charged and unforgettable journey. I am completely in love with Blake and grew to care more and more about Amy (Shasta Pyke) with each flip of the page. I really like it when an author pulls me into the plot to the point that I can experience each scene right along with the characters. This was a beautiful love story with just the right amount of heat. I never wanted this book to end.
Lost and Bound is an erotic romance between Shasta Pyke (Amy), an up and coming actress and Blake, a man who was no stranger to tragedy. Shasta has recently been dealt a devastating blow that left her with a disturbing reoccurring dream that interrupted her sleep most nights. Blake has recently discovered his sexual dominant side and was looking forward to exploring it further. When Shasta and Blake first met they were at odds with each other, more so Shasta, who didn’t want to be at the cabin, but was forced to satisfy her legal obligations. Blake had no sympathy for Shasta until the fateful night of the storm. Afterwards, there was no going back for either of them, as they take the time to explore each other, finding love where none was expected. Great erotica with a HEA. Enjoy.
I loved this book. Take one spoilt, rich brat, and add a wholesome, confident Dom, and what do you get? An electric package. I loved the characters Ms Spocks has created here. Shasta Pyke was endearing once you got past the Manolo's... and Blake had a lovely Daddy Dom nurturing quality that brought out the best in the heroine. The setting in the heart of the Canadian wilderness was stunning and I loved the build up to this blossoming relationship. I confess I do love a Dom that sticks firmly to his guns, and Blake certainly achieved that. I'm not sure Shasta knew what hit her... err... actually I may have had some idea ;) I read this in two days flat and would certainly read more from this author. A lovely writing style, just the right amount of tension and plenty of steamy sex. Honestly - what more could I want? :)
