He has to choose - love or honour - because he can’t have both.

Elle may be a Davenport, but she’s finding she enjoys life as a mostly-grey sheep of the Davenport family. She kicked off the Daven Bio uniform and now works for their corporate enemy - Cole Pharma, now headquartered in Preor Tower. She’s got massive, muscular, winged aliens surrounding her from sun up to sun down. But there’s only one Preor warrior who throws her world into a tailspin - Ivoth sen Pezet’li. Strong. Sexy. Sinfully seductive. Hers? No. They don’t share the Knowing, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting him. Bad.

Ivoth made a vow to his sire - the sen Pezet line would not end with him. And yet, when he speaks with Elle, scents her skin, and feels her curves against his hard body, he does not know if he can let her go. He craves her more than any other - perhaps even more than he desires to fulfil his vow - and he knows he must make a choice. Keep Elle and never have dragonlets or leave her and lose his heart forever.

Ivoth has to make a choice, but first, he has to keep Elle alive. Someone wants her dead and Ivoth is determined to kill them first. He only prays to Syh he is successful.

Ivoth is book seven in the Dragons of Preor series by Clea Kyle as Erin Tate.

I was immediately immersed in Ivoth’s story from the beginning to the bitter end.

The author made me feel for both Elle and Ivoth. She showcased their pain and their struggles. She also had me tearing up at times and their where moments that had me stuck on the edge of my seat.

What I really enjoyed was that the Knowing didn’t come right off the bat. It's clear they have feelings for each other and can feel things from one and other, but it didn't came into play until around the last 15% of the story. You may wonder why? Well you will have to read to find out! The delay in the Knowing, to me, added to the story.

I also adored the twin dragonlets from a previous couple. They where fun to read and they added a little cuteness to the story. I also had a blast with Charlie, the quasti, a little creature that is attached to Ella.

Ivoth was an emotional up and down rollercoaster. With heartfelt and heartbreaking moments. The Preor are an interesting race and I do love me some sexy dragon men.

If like me you have followed this series from the beginning you will be only too aware that these dragons are uber possessive and deeply driven by what they refer to as the Knowing. I've kind of struggled with that idea as its more than a mate bond as seen in shifter stories but something far more cerebral with even history of the Preor race being transferred to the human mate. That being said these fun stories are more than just fluff with sexy times thrown in and as shown in this book there is a journey the characters have to go on before absolute trust is formed.
Ok so briefly I liked the heroine Elle, as she is used to putting up a front and can outmanoeuvre most people with her cool attitude. Yet she's bravely taken a huge step and no longer works for her despotic father but instead works with the Preor. Elle and Ivoth are clearly attracted to each other but as the Knowing hasn't kicked in it seems doomed before it begins. Now I did mention that Elle no longer works for her fathers pharmaceutical corporation and pretty soon she finds herself with a target painted on her back! Luckily there's a rather aggressive Preor in the shape of Ivoth by her side and he's got no intention of letting anyone harm the human female who drives him insane.
This started in such an interesting way with a character introduced that is frankly bizarre. Charlie has been a constant in Elles life since she was a child in an atrocious accident and Charlie might be fluffy but I'd hesitate to call him cute! Dangerous is the word that comes to mind yet he is pivotal to this story. What really made me sit up and take notice though was the mention of the Ujal who originally saved planet Earth and introduced the Preor Warriors and I'm left wondering if the author intends to write more stories involving her particular brand of Mermen!
A copy of this was provided for me with no requirement for a review which I voluntarily read and means my comments are my own honest opinion

Nope - cannot say I like this storyline. Especially him continuing to search for a "mate" after he knows he loves Erin. Nope, nope, nope. OK - he does FINALLY commit, but only after she basically dies.

Yes - it all works out in the end, but I felt so sorry for her and I just wanted to smack Ivoth!

WTF-ery or crackilicious, take your pick, this entry fits in just fine with the rest of the series. I will say really like the direction Ms. Kyle is taking this, the dragons are getting stronger personalities (Ivoth is the very literal, slightly dim bulb) exploring more of the human world since the Preors were pretty isolated for a group of dragons trying to get their Knowing on. Also, I really dig the twist she introduced with the Pol Mutation, because it’s breathing life into a formula that could have gotten way stale by now. But it’s all window dressing. The dragons are still winged, possessive and hot and I’m still on this crazy train. If you love sci-fi romances, I’d say give this a shot.

I just love the Preor and Ujal Series!

I think this is the best book so far. Very strong story line. And then there is Charlie. I hope Ms. Kyle writes one about a certain yellow Preor with a horrible scar on his face...

The ultimate survivor
Yep this is one of those books sure to make me need a tissue box handy. This poor girl has been through so much and the author had to put her through even more before she was able to experience the knowing and claim her Preor mate. The author could not have done a better job of creating the emotions and experiences that just leapt off the page. Every detail was so vivid and clear that I felt like I was experiencing it for myself. I am so excited to see who succumbs to the knowing next.

Not bad

This one wasn't bad. Why not change the popular cultural belief and do what's in your heart? Why can't you marry someone who can't have children, especially if you love each other?

Four and a half stars!

Honest to God, Ivoth has got to be the dumbest hero in Romancelandia. I don't mean this in a figurative TSTL sense, but a literal adorkably-dumb way. I dont know if the author meant to take it this far, but I found it really refreshing to not have a hero who was so smart he seems almost omnipotent. Despite this, what he lacks in intellect he makes up with his OTT dumbass antics.

As for our heroine, I really liked Elle. Cecilia Kyle wrote a mostly believable career woman which I really appreciate. A pet peeve of mine is when an author gives a heroine a vocation that is not mentioned again in the book or where the heroine draws no skill or experince from. Classic examples include doctors who don't do any doctoring (why is the heroine even a doctor?! Why not a dog walker or clown instead - no offence to those professions), or the chef who only makes beast stew and biscuits (yes I'm looking at you Jess of Treyvon fame). But back to Elle, she really did feel like an executive of a company- pre-dawn starts, endless emails, finance reports, staff issues, boardroom meetings, sharp suits and good heels. She even thought like a leader and showed initiative in her actions but what I liked most about her was her strength and sense of self worth. When Ivoth acted like the ultimate dick and broke her, she knew it was unhealthy for her to continue in such a destructive environment and planned to remove herself from the situation. You go girl!

As for the storyline... did anyone get the distinct feeling that there was missing bits and pieces of the story? Like when you start reading a linked series from the second book or if you accidentally open your kindle and start reading from the third chapter? Apparently Ivoth and Elle knew each other for months before I started from chapter one... and they were friends? Wuuut? Where was the lead up to this?! Did I miss something in Zadri (#5) or Hatched (#6)? Then after Elle was released from medical the first time, she went back to her condo, then went back to medical and then suddenly shes in boardroom meeting her dad? It felt like the whole of Chapter 20 was edited out then hastily added back in but didn't actually serve a purpose. We just had Ivoth paranoid that Whelon was checking out Elle's boobs, Ivoth and Elle doing some awks grinding, Charlie being chased and Elle throwing Lorrasyh into the air. W. T. F. Lastly while I'm ranting, I have almost no idea what Elle looks like. Brown hair and eyes mentioned once at the end (I even did a search for it!). Nothing on height or shape of her features or body. Lazy.

Btw, I loved the idea of Ivoth's yummy quad squad (haha), but I'm pretty sure quad means four... and there are five of them. Just sayin'.

Lastly, as much as I liked Charlie, I hope he doesn't reappear in any future books. He's okay in small doses but he can quickly fall into the Gollum / Jar Jar Binks notoriety.

DRAGONS OF PREOR: IVOTH

Ivoth is a Preor warrior who has had an attraction and obsession with Elle, since the day he met her. He and his dragon want her with a passion but due to his sire's last wish, he can't take her as a mate because they haven't experienced the knowing and therefore she can't give him dragonlets. Elle is a strong woman who has endured tests, procedures and pain throughout her life due to her fathers hate. She's learnt to cope with what life had given her, until her father takes it a step to far. Now she must take a stand, and make some very hard decisions. A stand against her father and those who wish to hurt her and others like her. A decision to accept that she will never be good enough for a Preor warrior, and move on with her life.

I absolutely adored this book, it is definitely my favourite of the series so far. This story was exciting, sweet, emotional, funny, and very entertaining. The characters were amazing. Ivoth and Elle were both strong and stubborn, but they also both had their own insecurities and vulnerabilities. I loved Charlie as well, I thoroughly enjoyed his parts in the story that just added another interesting dimension to the storyline. It helped me understand Elle's character better and what she actually had to endure, and how alone she was through most of her life. Charlie was definitely an interesting and enjoyable creature. This book pulled me in from beginning to end, I loved it!

I'm back with the warrior dragons and their possessive streak. Sure, Ivoth and Elle have a few hurdles to tackle before they can be together, but...things happen in time, right? Even when a warrior has some, err, dragon-blocking warriors trying their hardest to keep them apart.

(Psst, they eventually get around both the hurdles and the dragon-blocking warriors. Don't worry.)

So. Ivoth has feelings for Elle, but the Knowing hasn't manifested, so...he's trying to keep his distance. Elle's feelings for Ivoth are just as intense, but, again, there's the lack of the Knowing thing. Although she might be willing to get involved with him without it, the dragons aren't down with him, err, defiling her (for lack of a better way of putting it) like that.

IT'S COMPLICATED.

HOWEVER, there's more than meets the eye with Elle and as her layers are uncovered, Ivoth becomes more and more possessive.

Bottom line: I like the world. I like the crazy possessiveness of the dragons. I like how they go completely off the rails when their lady is threatened. *thumbs up*

So, it's like this. Three days ago I was browsing books on the Audible romance package. I'm so very picky about books when I'm in a mood. So, I was so happy when I read that this first book had a super possessive alpha male in it. I downloaded the book and started listening to it while I was cleaning.

That was three days ago.

I'm binge listened to the first three books but then I just wanted to read the rest myself. Also, the narrators to these books are freaking amazing. AMAZING!!!

Anyway, once I started I couldn't stop. I am so in love with this series. So, 10 books. 3 days. 2 kids. 1 needy male of my own. I don't know how I did, but I finished all 10 books in three days. I was up late and awake early. Normally, after each book I leave a review. But, I didn't want to wait for the next story. So, I will be posting this review to every book.

Said simply... Amazing story, fantastic characters and the world building is...well...out of this world. I just say that there is a 5 book series on the Ujals. I'll be there if you need me.

My favorite series I've read so far this year...

2.5 stars.

I lielked how the book started, but quickly lost interest after that. I wish I could pinpoint specific reasons but they really fluctuated as the story progresses. I went back and forth about Elle. I'll just say as a final thought on her character something felt off about her the whole way through. I could never get to a point where I could root for her or care about her. Ivoth was a bit better, but again, I couldn't connect. Charlie was an annoyance for me, but only b/ c of the alien language he used. Sometimes you'd get translation and sometimes you wouldn't. It detracted from the story for me. At about 57% through the book I jumped to 80% and then speed read the rest. I ended up going back to see if I missed anything worthwhile but I really didn't. I've liked the other books in the series, but felt this one brought the quality down. I wouldn't recommend this particular book, but just like with movie reviews, everyone's tastes are different. I hope future readers enjoy this more than I did.

Extremely Disappointing

I found the characters of Elle & Ivoth to be boring & at times annoying. There's nothing new or different in this the 7th book of Dragons of Preor. As with all previous 6 books, someone's trying to kill one of the main characters, namely in this book Elle. Exactly as in the book before it, we learn it's a family member. The similarities between Elle & Delaney leave you wondering if the author has simply run out of ideas, or couldn't be bothered coming up with new story lines. It's become boring enough with the same basic storyline in each book of someone attempting kill either the H or h, but to lift great chunks of the previous book & slap it into the most recent one is just not acceptable.
If there is a redeeming character in Ivoth, it's Charlie. This small creature had more personality than either Elle or Ivoth. Was that the authors intent? Quite frankly I neither know nor care. I just know that I won't be wasting my time or money on any more Dragons of Preor books.
Read one & you've read em all.

This KU library read is another great addition to the series. It spins off of book five, with Elle Davenport, daughter of of the Davenport Pharmaceuticals family, joining Delaney Cole to help her run her own pharm company. Elle's father fights her leaving, but it's when shots are fired and her Preor guard, Ivoth, is nearly killed protecting her that she realizes how far William is willing to go. And how deeply she has come to care for Ivoth.
Ivoth is the leader of a quint squad that is now assigned to protect Elle. He has been attracted to her since they met months earlier, but they haven't experienced the Knowing, a sure sign they aren't mates. But when Elle is attacked again, the logical, serious, literal Dragon male will have to make a choice. Claim the mate of his heart, betraying the vow he made to his father to continue the family line, or to continue his search for his preordained mate, the only one who can give him dragonlets

Ivoth....I really wanted to bop him upside the head a few times. Ugh...a promise on a death bed really? You know when it feels right it right you knucklehead! Elle...how I felt for her. There were even times I wanted to bop her too. These guys both had issues but thats what made them perfect for each other. Her father was a bastard. Plain and simple. Her brother Ben? Ugh....he might not be as bad but that boy is in denial up to his eyeballs. Although I dont think Ben would hurt Elle he sorta let her get treated that way for years. Not that he didnt suffer either. It really was a horrible situation. I loooved Charlie. Awww I want one! This was yet another brilliant addition to Dragons Of Preor. Muah!

Intense and full of action

I love a story that combines a great plot with believable characters and nasty evil doers. From the start, this book will captivate you and keep you invested to the end. Elle comes from a messed up family but still seems normal. I loved the way she stands up for herself and the self possession that keeps her looking up instead of paying down. The story unravels at a steady pace and is a prime example of why I read Celia Kyle books every time I come across one and have loved each one, without fail. If you are reading this series, you can't miss this one!

Elle is tough, well she has to be she's a Davenport.
Ivoth made a vow to his sire to not be the last of his line. But he is willing to not keep the vow if he can have Elle.
This is a sweet story of following your dream. Of doing it your own way, or walking your own path. Of course, this has a HEA so this time it works out for Elle and Ivoth. But along the way, they really go through, well you get the idea.
Book 8 is next. I see book 10 coming closer with each book I read. Knowing that when I'm done with this series I'm going to want more. But I guess it has to end someplace.

Received an ARC

THIS is the story I have been waiting for since the series started. Ivoth's dragon seemed to ride much closer to the surface and he seemed to have less human interaction so he came across more "primal preor male" than just an alpha male. I liked that a lot. He and Elle were a great couple, but this was not an easy road for these two. Luckily we have some great comic relief moments thanks to Charlie the quasti. I think I'd like to be adopted by a quasti, but I'd never never want to piss one off.

A Solution

I have always tried to give a review that would entice a future reader to buy a book. This installment of the series had me crying and aching for those who hurt. I am throughly enjoying getting to know each warrior as they find their Mate, and Ivoth and Elle's story definitely is a tear jerker. Love can manifest itself in many ways and this couple is definitely the example. What more can I say then this will give you the hope for the human and Preor race.

I like this one better than the others because while I love the instant mate/love/lust/attraction/chemistry stories, I'm a little leery of some predestined "thing" suddenly taking over what should be the most important choice a person can make in their life, who to love. Don't get me wrong I love those kind of stories too, but I like it more when there is a definite decision and choice made by the characters.
CK gave me that in this story, and I for one loved it.

I throughly enjoy this one in the series. I like that the knowing didn't come right away. The main characters had a chance to get to know each other and develop feelings for each other. A lot of twist in this one and close calls but they prevail in the end.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

Loved this newest addition to the Preor series. I love Elle and Ivoth together. Charlie, Penelope-the-ship, and all the other characters are a fun and excellent addition to the cast of characters. And darn you for making me cry a bit while reading this book. Truly loved this book and the entire series.

I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline is original, as far as I know, with strong characters that you can get behind, or not, as the case may be. It touched me with a lot of emotion - and that’s a good thing. I even enjoyed the little quasti character. As an added bonus, it is not riddled with errors.

I’m so sad that I waited to long to read this book. I devoured this book in an evening. I could not put it down. I had to find out what happened next. This book was a great addition to the Dragons of Preor. I can’t wait to read the next one! I won’t wait so long this time.

The new species we are introduced to in this story is absolutely adorable. I also like the fact that we are reminded that humans are traveling to other planets, not just receiving visitors at home.
