Imagine….a school with no first day; horizontal expectations for learning (as opposed to vertical); emphasis on individual student outcomes instead of whole group results; disaggregated campus designs dictated by learning goals; ceilings removed from student learning; time engineered as part of the curriculum; students taught about how their brains actually work so they may use them better; and a grading system that acts as a gauge – not a goal. Imagine a school based on how students really learn, not on how they ought to be taught - all of it from current research. What would such a school look like?
