Porter, Red, and June begin the day trapped in a hoarder's home as a mob of infected descend upon the house, intent upon spreading the disease that's ravaged the country. Cars have surrounded them, and a crazed woman with a split face is threatening to send in her mob. It's the first of many impossible situations to survive that the group will have to overcome to live through another day in the apocalypse.
Enjoying how the character development is coming along with Porter, Red and June. Twists galore as they continue on their journey through the devastation they are being faced with.
This story takes place over a week when the world has gone to hell due to an CME hitting the Earth and taking out the grid. Along with the grid, mankind has also been hit by an unknown virus that turns people into “helpers”. They will stop at nothing in wanting to “help” people turn into crazed shells of themselves by stabbing them with tainted blood. What the purpose is of this, no one yet knows. Day three chronicles the survival of two brothers. Porter and Red along with Red’s girlfriend June on their journey to reach Porter wife and children in Texas. As the days go one, survival for the three gets harder and harder due to the craziness going on around them. Nowhere is safe and they can trust no one so they rely on each other to try and make it…one…more…day. This addition to this series is more nail bitingly good than the last. What our main characters come across is totally insane and had me on the edge of my seat wondering if they would make it out in one piece. Mr. Wise has out done himself with series which will keep you entertained and looking forward to the next installment each month. I love how he broke this up into days, with each one being released the first part of seven months. I look forward to the next four months with trepidation wondering what will be thrown at them next!
I was very anxious to read day three. Although its taken unexpected turns for our trio I've learned to never completely discount this author's characters. Its still almost a minute by minute hopeless situation and I just cannot wait for day four! This is action from start to finish! Great read.
The best of the three "days" so far. From the opening section the characters are out of their comfort zone and everything only escalates from there. I still wouldn't place this series above some of Wise's other works, but this entry has gotten my attention. If you've been on the fence after Day One and Two, I urge you to see how you feel by the end of Three.
