This noisy world can make it hard to hear the assurances of God. Let His voice be the loudest one in your life as He stirs up your hope and confidence each new day. "Take a deep breath, grab a cup of something cozy, and let God's love fill your heart with whatever you need most today." --Holley Previously published as God's Heart for You .
I loved Holley Gerth’s book “Coffee for Your Heart”! (This newest release was formerly “God’s Heart for You.”) It is an amazing book of 40 faith-filled reminders of encouraging affirmations of how beloved we truly are to the Lord. Using scripture and life experiences she sheds light on God’s amazing grace in our lives. Each chapter ends with a few soul-searching reflection questions to answer and a beautifully written poem.
Holley Gerth is a wonderful author who writes with a very honest, heartfelt, authentic, faith-filled voice that speaks to your soul. Her words revive your spirit and bring hope to your weary days. “Coffee for Your Heart” was the soul medicine I needed to digest in this particular season of my life. The life-giving words lifted me up and gave rest to the weary, wounded places in my soul.
I love that each daily reminder is a quick read yet rich with inspiring, powerful truths. Some of the uplifting topics within the chapters are; forgiven, loved, empowered, carried, redeemed, chosen, blessed, called, and His forever. Holley writes about who we are in Christ and our relationship with Him. We are His masterpieces. We are His beloved.
Some of my favorite quotes in “Coffee for Your Heart” by Holley Gerth are;
“Perhaps the reason our hearts long for romance is because our relationship with God is the love story—the one our hearts were created to be a part of for all eternity.”
“Yes, He is committed to refining us, but He is more interested in the relationship along the way. God doesn’t need anything from us. Sometimes we can focus so much on what we need to change, how we should be different, or the impurities that still need to be removed that we forget that God values people more than perfection.”
“All of the mistakes and failures you remember, all the secrets you run from, all the regrets and remorse…they are all gone. Every one of them has been torn from the story of your life. You are forgiven. You are accepted. You are loved.”
Holley Gerth has written many books and each one I have read has been a blessing to me. I think she is a passionate writer, encourager, and warrior for Christ, seeking to help others. I know you will be blessed by Holley’s life breathing message!
Coffee for Your Heart was an easy devotional to read. It wasn't too deep, but also wasn't too light of a read. I liked the way it was written and I did find some things encouraging.
All in all, I liked the book. I didn't love everything about it, but it was overall a nice read.

My Review:
No-one could ever tell me that you couldn't use a little encouragement. Some of us could use it on a minute by minute basis. I personally love sitting down to a good devotional or Bible study to just help encourage and maybe lighten the load. Because living in this world and being a part of this world even if we are just passing through, it tends to weigh heavily on you.
Holley Gerth has a knack for helping you through it. I consider her one of my closest friends. We have never met but she has helped me through some of my "heavy stuff" just from her encouraging words and writings.
Holley's chapter on being known by God struck a cord with me. That even when no one knows who you are and cant recall ever knowing you, our God can and will. He isn't afraid of knowing you or will turn away if asked. He is consistent with His love and knowledge of us on a far grander scale than we can imagine.
Coffe for Your Heart is just a good all around devo. Holley is able to touch on things that I put up and stored away or things that I didn't feel were an issue for me. I love her stories and her attitude.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge from the publisher for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
I love the reason behind the book and why she wrote it. It is so important to let God's love fill you up, not the voices in our world. We live in a loud busy world, full of messages and distractions everywhere. Oh and side note this book is small enough it fits in my purse, so it is easy to bring along with me and enjoy while I wait for my children at their activities. I did just that this week with the book. Each devotion is short and sweet, but packed with powerful truth encouragement and a couple questions for some pondering and prayer time. Each one takes 5-15 minutes depending on how much the words resonated with. So far, each one has for me. Another plus to this devotional, is there are 40 different topics, as you can see on the contents page, so you could just choose which one to read, especially if you are dealing with a specific need. Therefore, you don't have to read this in order and will make a great book to keep going back to from time to time, even after reading it all.
This week I was struggling one day with feeling inadequate and that I was not enough (and I am not without Jesus) but, I let satan get the better of me and I know better, however, he is sneaky. Thankful for the power of Holy Spirit, God's truth, prayer, and some encouragement from Holley's book I was able to shake off satan's attack. I choose to read the chapter on Accepted and Enough.
I have enjoyed visiting Holley Gerth's blog over the last 18 months or so and I have always found her writing encouraging and uplifting, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to read an advance copy of her latest devotional book. The book consists of 40 daily readings, each focussing on a different truth that God speaks over us: • You are accepted • You are chosen • You are empowered • You are valuable • You are victorious Each chapter consists of a short reading which unpacks the truth for the day, followed by a Bible passage to read, some questions to reflect on to apply it to your life, the beginning of a prayer which you can complete yourself, and a section entitled "Remember" which is an encouragement to own and hold to the truth you have explored. Holley's writing is warm, friendly and encouraging. At times I felt that I was sitting with her, over a cup of coffee, as she spoke truth into my life. As we step out into the world, there are so many different voices talking over one another; there are so many people proclaiming different things over us by their words or actions. The truths in this book are a helpful way to start the day strong in the truth of who God is and our identity in him. This book is a revised edition of a book previously published as "God's Heart For You."
Holley Gerth is one of my most favorite authors/Bible teachers. I first heard of her when I was going through a year of operations and infection. Her books gave me the hope and comfort that my heart was so needing. This little devotional is just as wonderful and I loved it!
There are 40 days of devotions in this book. Each one starts off with a Scripture then something from Holley's heart that teaches us from the Bible. She is so open and honest about her own struggles and feelings of feeling unloved or unworthy at times. We all have those days where we just can't understand how God could truly love us when we feel so unlovable.
My favorite part, though, are the questions at the end of the devotion where I got to dig deep into God's Word and my heart. I love a devotion that lets me participate in writing because it helps me to really apply what I've learned. There is plenty of lined spaces, too, for my responses.
After this, there is a prayer and then a beautiful reminder of who we are as God's children. These really helped me to take into my heart what God really feels about me and to embrace his love and grace.
I love this book and highly recommend it. It's a wonderful devotional for yourself or as a gift for someone else. (This devotional was previously published as "God's Heart For You").
I am a huge fan of Holley Gerth’s blog and the (in)courage online community she co-founded. I jumped at the chance to review this recently updated book.
On a balmy Saturday afternoon, I held this small but powerful book in my hands as I read it through on my front porch. Within the first few chapters, tears entered my eyes, because God was speaking to me through its pages.
This book is divided into forty brief readings, which are deep and thought-provoking. Each reading has three probing questions that are ideal for personal growth. I also enjoyed the “Remember” section, an inspirational reminder for each day.
Holley writes with compassion and sensitivity. Each chapter includes a quote or phrase from another book or story, which adds to the depth of study.
The chapter I liked best was Chapter 12, “Empowered.” Here’s my favorite quote, as I had never considered this truth before:
"But the power that is ours through Christ is limitless and indestructible. If it were converted into electricity, it could light the world for all eternity."
This book will help you dwell in God’s presence each day and deepen your relationship with Him. It’s small enough to fit in your purse, yet it has plenty of room to record your answers.
I received a free copy of this book from Harvest House Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
(Previously published as "God's Heart for You.") "Coffee for Your Heart" is a 40-day devotional that encourages women using Scripture. The author looked at how we are accepted, forgiven, loved, chosen, free, secure, known, strong, beautiful, heard, His friend, His child, defended, guided, understood, valuable, victorious, pursued, comforted, supported, never alone, desired, and more.
Each day's devotional started with a verse, then the author talked about the verse and how it's come up in her life. For example, how we might struggle with feeling accepted and acceptable, but God accepts us. Or how we delight in our children (even though they aren't perfect), which helps us understand how God can delight in us. She included several reflection questions relating to the Bible verse and her commentary and a short, open-ended prayer (so you can personalize the prayer). She ended with a free-form poem reminding the reader of what you just learned.
Overall, this devotional left me feeling encouraged and closer to God. She made some excellent points. I intend to read this devotional again, and I'd highly recommend it.
I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
This is the review of `Coffee For Your Heart` by author Holley Gerth.
This book is perfect for my early morning devotional time while my family is still sleeping. My day can be pretty hectic, but when I read short devotionals telling me I am accepted, I am forgiven, I am loved, and much more, there are 40 devotionals, I am able to handle things a lot better.
Along with the short devotional are reflection questions, response statements, and a remember section that is written to help you remember the devotional of the day. I recommend this book to women of all ages. I am sure there are times we all need to remember we are loved, forgiven and accepted.
This book was previously published as God's Heart for You. So, if you already have that book maybe you could give this book as a gift. However, we didn't want you to accidentally buy it if you already own it.
Disclaimer: "I was provided a free copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own."
Coffee for your Heart (previously published as God's Heart for You) is a beautiful way to begin each day. True to Holley's nature, it is written with all heart. Her love for God shines through as encouragement tumbles forth so naturally from her… and every devotional tucked within this treasure. Through Scripture, she reminds us to hear the voice of the One who loves us beyond measure. I love how each chapter begins with the Word and ends by encouraging us to Reflect and Respond, drawing us ever closer to our dear Father. The cherry on top is the Remember conclusion, which ties up each devotional with a gift from her soul.
With so many themes covered, Holley helps us grow in many facets of our faith journey. Even if I had not received this from the publisher in exchange for my honest opionions, I would have owned it upon release. I have followed Holley for many years and her heartfelt style is the type I cherish. This blesses in an extraordinary way and I am forever grateful for Holley's sweet gift of encouragement.
This short book of devotions is explicitly aimed at female readers and is a re-issue of God's Heart for You.
Packed full of warmth and encouragement, this book aims to counter all the negativity we ingest, including our feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness, by reminding us of God's promises and love for us. It is divided into 40 sections, each beginning with a Bible verse, and ending with Reflect (another verse to meditate upon, and questions), Respond (a prayer with room for the reader's own personal praise/confession/requests etc) and Remember (this might be a poem or other concise piece of wisdom). Every day or section includes heart-warming encouragement such as: 'You're welcomed, held, cherished just as you are and encouraged to grow into all you'll become.'
Holley Gerth is one of my favorite writers! Excited to get this book, and to be partnering with Holley once again helping to promote and get the word out about another one of her devotional books. It's called "Coffee for Your Heart"...40 Mornings of Life-Changing Encouragement. Previously it was published as God's Heart for you. I love that you can take it in your purse and read your daily devos wherever you are! A positive pick me up for your soul amidst the negativeness in this world. I actually once I started reading couldn't put it down! I have also read and enjoyed her book "You're Already Amazing". Along with my bible study group, we have read and gone through the study guide that accompanies the book. It "WAS" amazing! Holley reassures us that God loves us unconditionally and that He created you to be you...and that in itself...is AMAZING! Thank you Holley! #coffeeforyourheart
#coffeeforyourheart I received a free copy for a unbiased review of this book.
I love this devotional book. It was previously published as God's Heart for You, and it is a women's devotional book that is very encouraging. I have been searching for a good devotional book recently, and this is just the book I was looking for. Each day has a small devotion to read, three questions that help you dig deeper into your bible, a prayer prompt, and a review of the devotion that simplifies it down. It only takes about 10 to 15 minutes and it helps me start my day out great. This is exactly what women need, especially during the rough times in life.
Very clear and concise stories, with scriptures that were relevant to the chapter. This book was very good and I also liked the questions. To me this made me think deeper about what I had read and the scripture. This is a must have book for anyone, because it will bring comfort when needed. This is the first book I have read from the author but it will not be my last. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest reveiw.
I received a free copy from the publisher for my unbiased review. I love this book! I look forward to reading it each morning. Holley Gerth is one of the most encouraging, uplifting authors that I have read, and this little book is no exception. Her words make a difference in my life. What more can I ask of a devotional than that!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book - great words of affirmation and encouragement. I really liked the table of contents for when you may be looking for words on a specific area or topic.
Holley is wonderfully gifted with words and effortlessly conveys the feeling of friendship through words.
Note- Book previously published as "Gods Heart for You"
I love how each of these are so short but with so much impact. Short two or three pages devotional stories with a prayer at the end. I love everything Holley writes but this is a nice one to pick up and revisit with some coffee each day for a quick reminder of God's love for you.
A good read. Full of inspirational thoughts, sayings, and love. However I thought it used too many of the same old Bible verses we always see in other books.
This book was a great read for my mornings! Chock full of scripture and devotions this is a great addition to the christian woman's library. Truthful & refreshing devotional perfect for your morning routine. When you gear up for the morning don't forget "Coffee For Your Heart!"
Totally loved this book especially the poems at the end of each day's thought. This is a book I am glad I have read and one I will definitely return to at some point in the future. I was given this book by NetGalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
