The Dance

Rate this book
Nearly a decade ago, Detective Tom Wiley worked a case that continues to haunt him to this day. But while the nature of The Puppeteer’s horrific crimes will always remain in Tom’s memory, it’s the guilt of not catching the serial killer before he vanished that still weighs heavily on his heart. Now the eight years of peace and quiet since the vicious killing spree has come to an abrupt and gruesome end. The Puppeteer is back. With the unwanted help of his newly assigned partner, Detective Anna Perez, Tom will stop at nothing to end The Puppeteer’s latest reign of terror. But as the detectives follow the trail of bodies, they quickly realize that The Puppeteer may not be their deadliest enemy, and they’re up against something far more sinister than the twisted workings of a serial predator. Can Tom and Anna survive this world of insanity and death, of love and loss, of myth and magic, where the lines between good and evil are hard to discern? Or will they be forever swept away in The Dance?

I was born in Dover, Delaware in 1971, but have traveled extensively. Some of my travels around the world have been in service to my country. Others have been in service to my family, but most have been in service to my heart.

I graduated from Peach County, Georgia before joining the Army during Operation Desert Shield. I served with honor, pride and a whole lot of spent shell casings during my three-year hitch. I attended college at Oklahoma State University and eventually received a BS in EET.

I live just north of Tulsa, Oklahoma with my loving wife and our rambunctious son. We are an active family and when they can pull me away from the keyboard or out of a book, we spend our free time wakeboarding, hiking, practicing mixed martial arts, riding motorcycles and taking road trips.

Although I enjoy writing shorts, I also have several book length stories in circulation. My novels include: The Writing on the Wall, The Dance, Drums of the Nunne’hi (due out at the end of July) and Pixels and Pain (due to be released this month).

I know the author of this book but even if I didn't know James I would have had to give it five stars. You will not be able to put it down once you start reading it. This one is twisted and I mean that as a compliment. The only way to describe it is that it has twisted horror, romance and quick wit with some sarcasm and comedy thrown in.

I LOVE this book. The Dance, written by James Goodman, is an awesome story. It's a romantic horror, paranormal romance, romantic suspense and romantic thriller all in one!

The story revolves around the hero, Tom, and his quest to catch a serial killer, aka--the Puppeteer. (With a name like that, I'm sure you can imagine what he does to his victims--LOL!) The heroine, Anna, is also a detective and is helping Tom on the case. Theirs is a love/hate relationship, but I haven't seen such great chemistry between partners since the days of the X-Files. (Yes, I'm such a geek. I know...)

However, the romance doesn't stop there. Wait until you meet the villain and the villainess. You'll find yourself loving them as much as you do the hero and heroine. (How can I love a serial killer? Read this book and you'll see what I mean.)

Though I'm not one to read this genre of romance, I'm so glad I did. The Dance kept me on edge the whole time, and well... can we say twisted? This story was fun, fresh, scary and twisted!!!

The Dance is a great book from a great author and I can't wait to read more books from James Goodman.
