Yes, only OK. What happened to the original version, you know, the one where the wolf eats the first little "bacon" at the straw house, eats the second little "ham" at the stick house, but ends up in the stew pot at the third little "pork chop's" brick house? Come on people, this re-write reads like some social progressive tribute to modern serfdom. The first IRS agent, I mean pig, shakes down some poor farmer taking hay to his fields to feed his cows. Now the farmer has no hay, the cows go hungry, and soon die, and the USAPCA is after him, along with the EPA. But the pig has his house of straw. The second union boss.., I mean pig, commandeers some poor schmuck's wagon of sticks that he was taking to the local orphanage to provide fuel for their cook stoves and heat for their furnaces. Poor kids, starved and froze to death, but the second pig got his house of sticks. The third HHS agent, I mean pig, confiscated all the bricks that the local benevolent society was using to provide shelter for the homeless, and yes, they too perished in the harsh winter storms, but the third pig did get his opulent palace built of bricks on the backs of all the local townsfolk. Anyway, "the people", you know, the ones mentioned in that old document that starts out "We the People, of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union..." are represented by the wolf, and we know how that story ends--in a stew pot getting our gooses cooked, with all three pigs (now standing for much of our government), singing and dancing away.

This is rather a poor retelling of this old classic tale. It is not told in the correct way, the pictures, while they were nice and colourful, really were nothing special. Not a version I was very impressed with.

The Three Little Pigs is a fable that narrates the tale of three pig siblings who construct their homes using straw, sticks, and bricks. A ravenous wolf effortlessly demolishes the first two fragile houses, consuming those pigs; however, he is unable to breach the sturdy brick house of the third pig. Ultimately, he is outwitted and defeated when he attempts to enter through the chimney, imparting a moral regarding the value of hard work and strategic planning. The central theme of The Three Little Pigs emphasizes that diligence, foresight, and perseverance yield positive outcomes, whereas opting for shortcuts can result in difficulties. The narrative illustrates that dedicating effort to establish a robust foundation ensures enduring safety and success, in stark contrast to the hastily constructed, easily destructible homes of straw and sticks. This serves as a metaphor that highlights how preparedness and hard work can triumph over adversity.

This book was a decent classic version of the story, until suddenly the pigs mother moved in with them, and the illustrations show the three pigs reverting back to little "children" pigs.

With all the different versions of the story available, I don't recommend this version.
