Textbook for one of the most fascinating engineering courses I have ever taken... and have never had an opportunity to use. But I'm glad I didn't specialize in semiconductor fabrication b/c I don't want to live on the west coast or in the northeast.
This introductory guide to Solid State Devices was prescribed to me in my Bachelors course. The first few chapters are quite comprehensive and do a good job of introducing the topic. The exercises and problem questions also help in gaining a better understanding of the subject matter. But perhaps it is the nature of the subject itself, the chapters do not stand so well when taken separately. You need to know the previous chapters before starting a new concept.
