He was also known for his novels of legendary figures placed in realistic historical settings; his retelling of the Arthur legend (Firelord in 1980, Beloved Exile in 1984, and The Last Rainbow in 1985) is set in the 5th century during the collapse of the Roman empire, and his reinterpretation of Robin Hood (Sherwood, 1991, and Robin and the King, 1993) takes place during the Norman conquest and features kings William the Conqueror and William Rufus as major characters. His other well-known works include Waiting For The Galactic Bus (1988) and its sequel The Snake Oil Wars (1989), humorous critiques of American pop culture and religion.

What I thought that was pretty cool is that the book title w.i.t.c.h. has the first letter of every witch's name like Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin. Also when will has the dream in the beginning of the book I thought it was kinda creepy because it would be scary if you didn't have a face.in one little part of this book I think it's kinda wierd.

These books are quick and easy reads! I love that they remind me of my childhood.
In this book, the girls travel to Metamoor through a portal. Taranee gets captured and the girls have to make an astral drop of her (basically a copy of her) until they rescue her. Taranee discovers she is a telepath and told Will to leave her behind. They find out one of their teachers is a monster from Metamoor. Hay-Lin discovers she can see other people’s memories by touching an object. In the memory, she saw that the monster teacher was running away from something when she came to the human world. She was carrying a child (looked like Elyon, who betrayed the girls). Elyon is now working with Lord Cedric in Metamoor. Elyon tortures Taranee. The girls return to save her, but Taranee transforms herself and ends up saving them. They are all united again and return home to their astral drops.

I loved this! The dialogue could be a little better, but, I mean... it's for kids. I am reading this series as part of my inner child healing journey. I read an excerpt of the first book in Disney Adventures magazine when I was about 9 or 10 and immediately fell in love with the premise and the characters. Unfortunately, I had Baptist parents. Anything involving witches was banned from the house. I feel like I am just as capable of enjoying this as an adult as I would have been as a child. The art style is beautiful and magical. I have often wished that I could delete some of my favorite media from my brain just to experience it for the first time all over again. I think this series is giving me the opportunity to do just that. This series would have been among my favorites if I'd been able to read it as a kid, but instead, I get to read it now. I'm basking in the childlike wonder.

A light read for girls.
In the second book, we see more of the girls' powers, and have more dynamics between each other. The action picks up and the tone gets a little more serious (while still being frivolous enough to be considered light-hearted). Once again, it isn't much different than your typical "magical girl" trope we see today, but it does hold it's own small magic in the genre; dealing with realistic problems like struggling with a sense of self and self-doubt.

I'd like to make note that my ratings for these comics are based on the knowledge that they're targeted towards a much younger audience. I'm reading these for nostalgic purposes and rating them as such.

If you want a fun full-color read about magical girls, this series is for you. And, if you enjoy that sort of thing, I also recommend you read the "WinX Club" series as well.
This volume had more action and strategy than Vol.1, since it involved the girls having to spend alot of time coming up with a way to rescue Taranee. I loved the "astral drops" they created for that, especially how Will's kept messing up.
I also kinda enjoyed seeing that their teacher was a monster--albeit a friendly one--who wanted to help them out along the way. It seemed like so many other characters only wanted to hurt them and betray them instead.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

I think this book is a very good comic book. I think that because it is kind of funny. It is about 5 girls trying to get their friend(1) back from the evil. the 5 girls went somewhere and her friend catch them. This book was nice to read.

I gave this book 4 stars because it was good it just wasnt my favorite. There was a lot of action in this book and magic.

:)Thsi book is good it was interesting and never boring. For me it was a quick read but who knows for you!! I reomend this to people who like a good short book!!!:)
