Desperation is a fantasy serial, a collaboration between author and readers. The tale is set in a land long oppressed by the Thryssian Empire, the will of a near immortal emperor enforced by shadowy sorcerer warriors known as the Blood Knights and marked by their emperor's blood red handprint. Life, freedom, flourishes at the outskirts of the empire and in the Eastern Sea Kingdoms that have banded together to balance against the emperor's power. It is within one of those kingdoms, Vaerta, that an unlikely group of heroes, led by a gypsy con artist and illusionist, are about to start a journey that will change the course of the continent forever. Follow along, and shape the story, as con artist, street rat, mageknight, smuggler, and princess begin their epic adventure.
