NCIS, Sentinel Tony DiNozzo/Jethro Gibbs, Other minor pairings -------------------------------------------------- Tony DiNozzo was used to his life changing unexpectedly. A broken leg in college turned him in the direction of becoming a police officer, a gunshot wound that nearly crippled him brought him to forensics, and now, coming online as a guide was going to take him someplace a little vicious.
A very good addition to the fanfiction guide/sentinel universe. The unique type of guide Tony is along with the cast of characters and chaos in the background make the story fun.
This is one that I really wish she'd write/finish the promised sequel(s) to. It has a HFN ending (including Tony's brilliant and intense rejection of Gibbs's horrible anti-apologies rule 🎯😢 … which actually opens Gibbs's eyes! 🎉👍), but it's still early in their pairing. They've neither completed psionic bonding nor sex yet (not a complaint — it's good they're taking a bit of time to become not-strangers!), they haven't figured out the job situation now that they — a highly-educated forensic scientist with permanent physical limitations and a field investigator for a different bureau — need to be together, etc.
The "First (Spirit) Guide" element, unique to this 'verse, is intriguing. This ~first~ novella leaves them having figured out only part of what new-to-their-modern-S&GAK-world psionic abilities adorable and demanding little embodied-spirit "ocekitten" Vicious is there to learn/recover and to share with her Guide Ascendant.
I marked the story low-conflict, because it's really not the main focus, but there is one antagonist who has clearly abusively misused their psionic abilities, and that's not yet fully dealt with or even understood either.
Nonetheless, despite how these wishes for more may make it sound, I found this an enjoyable and satisfying read, with well-developed characterization of what Tony and Gibbs might be like with these different backstories (still recognizably *them* but with significant twists), appealing secondary OCs (oh, and good use of Fornell), and the bonus of a bunch of wonderful ocelot kitten photos.
