4 women + 1 man = DRAMA. Because of his lifestyle, Rafiq Harris is pegged as a womanizer. In the eyes of the media, he is the reigning champ of scandal. But, behind closed doors, he's far from the dog that he is made out to be. With so many women chasing him, he only has eyes for one special lady. However, getting the prize isn't as easy as he expected. Soraya Jones isn't impressed by his money and fame, so Rafiq has to step outside of his box to bag his queen. However, it's not so simple when he has a host of women all chasing after the same thing… his money and his heart.
Deanna has been down for Rafiq since they were in high school. She knew what she was getting herself into with him from the start, but, she felt she was entitled to his heart once he was ready to settle down. However, Rafiq doesn't see it that way.
Kendra was hired as his publicist, but, she finds out the hard way why you can't mix business with pleasure.
Brandi is what you call the bitter baby mama from hell. She hasn't gotten over the fact that Rafiq have moved on and now he only wants to do right by his daughter without the drama. However, if she can't have him, no one else can.
Last, you have Soraya, the one that got away. Thanks to his mother, Vanessa, after their one night of pleasure, he didn't see her again until years later and he's willing to do whatever it takes to make her his queen.
How will Rafiq handle all the drama coming his way with the women in his life? Came Along Way is a classic tale, filled with drama, love, and deceit. It's sure to heat up your kindles and leave you thirsty for more. One-click your copy and get in on the drama!
Omg why leave off with that hanger like that. Omg Vanessa is a ole bitter b***h... Unc Omar the truth. Lyric and Zamir got a cute bond. Deanna delusional self. Brandi crazy af. BANGA
I know sex and violence sells but whatever happened to plain old good story writing and character development? Ms. Yo Loni made a good attempt however she dropped the ball. The book can only be as good as the characters. The book started off with Soraya fighting and it ends with her fighting. Where is her growth? She’s a mother, a professional sports journalist and wants to open her own dance studio. Why is she letting peasants get her off her square and fighting random women? Then Rafiq is not any better. He’s definitely clueless and weak. For one, he can’t see that everyone is playing him and how do you not see the conflict of interest with the publicist? Is Kendra the publicist or assistant because she sure does handle more than publicity. Lastly, back to character development…why are the descriptions for the characters so vague? All we know is Soraya is brown skinned with shoulder length hair and Rafiq is 6’2 with caramel skin and a low cut. Damn, that’s all we get? How am I supposed to really connect with the characters and I don’t even know what they look like? Smh
I couldn't put it down... I will say I Love me some Rafiq but he cant seem to catch a break... and lil Za is a trip he brought me many laughs with his bad butt...lol! For some reason I feel like Kendra has something to hide, i didnt trust her from the gate... but i could be wrong! Deanna is on my last nerve and she needs to fall back she is to thirsty for me...lol... and Brandi is just a sad case all together... what shes keeping from Ra is down right wrong... and how in the hell did Trey end up in the position that hes in...what made him go in that direction? I have a few choice words for Rafiq's Mama... i can already tell she has more than enough secrets hidden with her sneaky self. That leaves Terrance...smh i knew he was going to be in the shadows... but what is he about to bring to this web of secrets? Im team Rafiq and Soraya all day! Im hoping that they can make it through the drama that is continuing to unfold. That ending left me with so many questions, I need part 2 asap...lol... im ready to see who really came a long way!
This was such an easy read! I feel as though I started as soon as I began because I did not want to stop reading. I just needed to know what would happen next. Rafiq and Soraya cross paths because their significant others were cheating with each other. A confrontation pushes them into each others arms, sparks fly, a one night stand transpires and a baby is made! Fast forward 7 years and Rafiq is a big NBA star. Fate brings Soraya and Rafiq together once again but everyone in Rafiq's life refuses to allow this to happen smoothly. From his bitter baby momma Brandi, her scandalous best friend Deana, and his trifling mother, everyone thinks Soraya is just trying to get a "come-up". Everyone except Rafiq who knows she was the one that got away, even if it was just a one night stand. I can not wait to see what happens next in part II. It seems like the couple's past is back to haunt them. Please note: This novel did consist of minor editing issues. The editing errors do not make the read hard to follow and may even go unnoticed by the reader.
This could’ve been 5 stars but the amount of errors in this is horrible. I’m still gone read part 2 but if the errors are just as bad I will not read anything else by this author. Ik some reviewers said the errors were not enough to interrupt the story but yes yes they were. It’s horrible, also the whole thing when someone getting ready to say something important and something happens to interrupt them was wayyyy overused. It was cute the first time but EVERY SINGLE TIME someone had something important to say this tactic was used. It was sooo irritating. At the beginning of Rafiq story he said he felt like Kendra was the one for him. But then it switched up that it was just an image thing for them. What was the purpose of saying otherwise at the beginning then?
Other than those few things this was a really good storyline. Just wish these author would take their art serious. The amount of errors that’s in this book is ridiculous and an editor is badly needed or a new one.
This is some drama with four women and a spiteful and hateful Ma Dukes (Rafiq’s mom).
IMHO Rafiq does not have the handle on things. One side chick he had for eight years and of course this chick got feelings. It’s eight years what did he expect with these psycho woman. Then the baby mama from hell like to get in women faces, but a wimp when things go south with her dead beat boyfriend.
Ma Dukes out of line for all the underhanded things she does to continue to spend her son’s money. She’s shameful!
This book had so much drama that it kept me interested.
I enjoyed this read it was fast paced ,intriguing and filled with grammar issues. I enjoyed how Soraya doesn't take no one bull. I couldn't believe Rafiq's money hungry mother evil as hell. What killed this one for me was grammar please get a better editor for part 2 cause this could've got 5 * the storyline was good .
Fantastic book. Completely full of action -- a page turner that you will not be able to put down.
I read this book in one sitting and am glad that I did. Excellent character plots. I cannot wait to read more about Re and Sorajay. They are meant to be happy and together forever. This author outdid herself.
This is a darn good story. It's different for the urban fiction world. Not much has kept my attention lately but this did. My only critique is there's quite a few mistakes but not to the point you don't know what the author is saying. I usually take a star off for that but because of originality I'm giving it five stars. I will definitely read part two.
This story is nothing but drama. Rafiq definitely has a trail of women and drama that follows him. If Soraya knows what’s good she would run not walk away from him. I can’t w as it to see what happens next. Rafiq needs to clean up his act and focus on his kids and basketball.
Kendra!! She may be acting like the calm before the storm. Brandi wouldn't do it. She still stuck on stupid for him. Now Deana might have been a stupid enough to do it. But she don't hasn't him dead just the females around him. Then again his empty headed ass mama could be trying to teach him a lesson.
I'm about to start part 2, it was a great book! I been seeing this book on FB but never got around to read it. But I'm glad i did I can't wait to read what's next! I think it was his hating ass mom 😾 who sent Spank there!
Loved loved loved this read. From delusional women to bitter baby mommas to conniving assistants Rafiq couldn’t catch a break but Soraya that woman will see him through because I see a new found Love in the future
My first book by this author, definitely won’t be my last. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ra mama behind all this, she and Brandi are something else. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds. Definitely recommend. Full of drama from the first chapter.
This series is Lit with everything going on I can’t wait to see how this turns out. I want thank the author for such a amazing masterpiece with that being said I’m out on to part two.
From the start I knew this book was going to have some twist and drama. The storyline was good and different. The characters were crazy over one man that don’t want them.. I believe his momma had something to do with everything! What’s going to happen next ?
Will Rafiq & Soraya survive all the drama? Seems like the past is catching up with them both. His mother and bitter baby mama need to be cut off for good. I'm reading for the book to get pass all this.
WTF going on? Is Spank Deanne or whatever her name is brother-in-law? Who was that that Kendra was on the phone with? I pray when they get out of this bullshit that he realizes who the snakes in his garden are.
Rafiq got too much drama surrounding him. Every woman in his life is crazyyyyy including his momma. Soraya the only one with some sense. I really hope things work out for Soraya and Ra. I'm running🏃💨💨 over to part 2!!
This is an interesting read, I appreciate that it's slightly different from the norm , the characters are well developed and the story is flowing nicely. Mann his moms is trifling kudos to the author
Man, this is getting messy messy. I can't stand a snack especially one that's related. You got a baby mama who's trash, a side trick who doesn't know her place, and a public relations chic who I don't trust. I know book 2 about to tick me off
Not a review just a slight critique. The editing is awful. Another book I had to reread sentencing just to comprehend what was trying to be conveyed. It was aggravating.
A pretty good story. It wasn't very predictable and the story is different than the typical. There was an exorbitant amount of editing issues though. Hopefully part 2 will be better edited.
This book was soooo good!!! The plot definitely thickened here. I hope Trey, Soraya and Rafiq are ok. But Stank needs to be handled as well as who sent him.
