Although first published in 2003, this easily digested work serves as a great introduction to finding and researching a wide variety of land records in the United States. Incredibly helpful, lots of resources in the bibliography, step by step instructions for researching and then visiting the county courthouse and finding land records. Filled with practical tips, like, "wear old clothes because the volumes will probably be very dusty." Perhaps a little dated, but I don't know of anything that has replaced this work as an essential resource.
