At first the length of this book, 347 pages, overwhelmed me because I thought I should really think deeply about and try to memorize each idea. Then, I decided I really wanted to read it and see what I could learn, and what I already knew.
Overall, there were a lot of good thoughts-suggestions-comments that I enjoyed. I dog-earred several pages and decided that some of the shorter pages spoke the most strongly to me. Some of my favorites are:
page 15 “Even if you became an astronaut and discovered other planets, it would not be as great as discovering your own Self right here on earth.”
page 67 “Don’t belong to anything. Don’t belong to anyone. Just be. Feel your being first and foremost, and don’t compare or compare. Just be your being.”
page 69 “In the absence of you personally is the presence of you universally.”
page 153 “Who gave us this crazy idea that we should know how to live? Does a tree know how to live? Does a cloud know how to float? Does the wind know where it is blowing? Does a toad know it is going somewhere? Don’t know how to live, just recognize that you are life and life just is.”
page 99 “Do not cling to any concept or belief of how life should be, for you will be radiant when your projections are unfolding favorably but when they are not, you will crumble.”
page 195 “Find that which cannot be extinguished before the candle of this body melts away.”
page 214 “The book of your Being is open. The pages are empty. Let the Divine write something inside your heart.”
page 221 “I am totally in love with nothing.”
page 343 “Noisy mind, no mind, never mind, same-same.”
page 178 “You are naturally happy. Happiness is your true happiness. No one can make you unhappy. Your imagination alone can do that.”
Overall, this book reminded me that life is a journey and I should aspire to learn and grow each day, and to enjoy my own evolution.
