Lars Ulrich is a bundle of contradictions. He's been the mouthpiece for Metallica for decades. He's never at a loss for words. He's warm and welcoming on the one hand...on the other, sarcastic and obnoxious with a sense of humour that many might find a little warped. One thing the man doesn't inspire is you either love him or you hate him. He delights in winding people up. Does this get on some people's nerves? Oh, yes! Many are totally turned off by his cocky arrogance, his healthy-sized ego, his verbocity, his "Metallica's way or the highway" attitude, his pure ballsyness. Who else would dare to get right up into James Hetfield's face and scream "Fuck!" at the top of his lungs.... And maybe that's why he's been the inspiration for so much band fiction, a mere twenty-nine stories of which are collected here. The stories in DANISH are what's known as "band fiction", a genre enjoyed (and written) primarily by women. Some of the stories in DANISH are "slash"--they contain homoerotic overtones or content.
