I love Christopher Baldwin's comics, and this one did not disappoint.
Anna Galactic is a teenager on a spaceship that is grounded on a planet with Earth-like features but no other humans. The other main characters are Foxglove, an impulsive young woman, and Dilvan, an young ship officer. Foxglove and Dilvan discover that the ship's captain is lying about the ship not being able to take off from the planet. When Anna's parents are imprisoned for challenging the captain, Foxglove hides her. The three of them escape the ship, along with Anna's nanny robot, and trek through the nearby parts of the planet to try to figure out what's going on.
The planet has several sentient races and other wildlife, some friendly and some dangerous. The humans keep getting into trouble and managing to get out of it. It's humorous SF; all the characters, including the aliens but maybe mostly the nanny robot, are funny. But it's definitely real SF too. The art is excellent, stunning in a few places.
I read it online on the author's site, where it is still available.
