Bad
Daniel Briggs is a core character in Cooper's Corps Justice series of books which are fairly entertaining. The four Briggs books precede the Corps Justice series in an effort to explain the genesis of the character. The first two were pretty good action books to which I gave three stars. The third was terrible (one star). This one was worse. It made no sense, had more plot holes than a hundred pounds of Swiss cheese, and worst of all was very poorly written with sentences intended to be profound that made no sense and writing at about a fourth grade level. I don't know what Cooper is doing, but this one may be the end for me.

TURNING POINT. Tested is the fourth book in the Corps Justice series that focuses on the life of Daniel Briggs prior to him joining up with Stokes Security. This is part of a series, but the book can be read as a standalone. Though, since the books build off each other, I highly suggest you read them in order to fully understand Daniel and his journey. There is violence.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. In this book, the author did a great job of summarizing the main character and the entire series of books written so far. Even if you haven't read any of the previous books in the series, you can pick this one up and figure out what is going on. This time Daniel finds himself in Las Vegas. Of course he ends up right in the middle of something much bigger than he ever expected.

I have read all of Mr. Cooper's books and received a much better idea of who Daniel Briggs is. He is like Jack Reacher and wanting to help out the underdog - even if they don't want to be helped. Tested finds Daniel in trouble after helping a single mom and her young son in Las Vegas. People are disappearing and police are sniped upon. He finally gets lost in the desert and has an epiphany - scrutinizing his inner demons and communicating with the beast inside of him. He is a risk taker and doesn't flinch, even when he knows he is in a sniper's crosshairs and could die at any moment.
The story takes a crazy turn near the end - the results surprising me to no end. Tested is a page turner and readers are held on the edge of their seats while the story unravels and Daniel is no longer the person he was when arriving in Las Vegas only a couple of days earlier.
Great job Mr. Cooper! Keep 'em coming!

Best book in series
And what a series it has been. Daniel is a man of few words and lots of empathy. He almost appears to be telepathic; he seems to be tuned into the world around him in a way that defies the ordinary senses. It's always been apparent that he had great trauma during his time as a Marine sniper. Here's the back story. The author's glimpses into Daniel's heart, soul and his emotions is incredible in intensity and believability. I wondered what experiences the author called upon when he was writing this. Whether you've read another book that focused on who Daniel is or not, do not miss this one.
The author states this is his last "Daniel" novel. I hope not. This is a character I'd like to read about again.

'Tested' truly tested my emotions. The storyline was fantastic. The way it played out kept me on my toes from the start. Full of action, potential friendships, potential enemies, thrilling scenarios, mystery and great characters. Daniel truly went through a reformation during this book. I loved how he finally embraces who he was, is and will be. So many events during this book left me open mouthed. I was not expecting a lot of the twists. And for me, that's an awesome attribute for an author to accomplish. I can't wait to read more. A must add to your tbr list.

Daniel is a complex character that still has some secrets. Author did an outright stellar job keeping plot going through a variety of now you see it now you don't twists and turns. In another life he could be David Copperfield. Pure suspense and Rick solid surprise ending.

A very satisfying conclusion to the four book series about Daniel Briggs.
We first meet him in "Council of Patriots", the second book in the Corps Justice series, where he is described as looking like "a crazy mountain man". He comes to the rescue of Cal, the prime focus in that book, and becomes an important figure in that and subsequent books in the series.
The Daniel of the Corps Justice books is a Marine sniper par excellence, a man with the stealth, the hunting instincts and the power of a high level predator. At the same time he is a man who projects calm and control; a man who has found peace after crashing the depths of self-loathing and despair. The four books in the Daniel Briggs series, written - very successfully - in the first person, show the events that took him from the PTSD-ridden drifter who decided whether to live or die on the flip of a coin, to the peaceful warrior of Corps Justice.
Highly recommended

Wow!!
Another wonderful reading experience but this time with a few more really startling twists. Daniel Briggs is the hero that we all need someone to be and he's up to the task. He has also had a come-to-Jesus moment that allows him to see his own worth and value. The story was riveting and although I didn't see all that was coming I thoroughly enjoyed the story being told and the characters who played parts in the story were real-as-they-come portrayals. I saw a shift in what is to come and welcome it with open arms.

On the bus to Las Vegas Daniel meets a 5 years old boy, Nathaniel, and his young mother and as he learns more about them he wants to help.
This adventure has all of the twists and turns and will keep you turning pages as Daniel fights evil people who are trying to harm others. Follow along to find out all that Daniel has to do in order to help others.

I wish I would have read these four books before the Corps Justice series! Yes, Daniel isn’t introduced until a couple books into that series, but I feel like I know him so much better as a character, now.
Although, conversely, the unknown part of his journey makes him more of an enigma...
either way, now I want to reread the Corps Justice books!

one of the best. i know that feeling when you've been changed so much that nobody recognizes you, not even your spouse. Great feeling. unfortunately only lasted about 18 months before life took charge again. daniel took the cop's gun. that's how he killed the coyotes. editor missed that saying gun was still holstered.

Daniel Briggs, always manages to step into a problem he cannot in good conscious walk away from. Twin serial killers. Sisters. But, they made a horrible mistake. One of them killed a small boy whom Daniel was very attached too. Daniel doesn't walk away. This is an excellent read!

Excellent story
Great character development. Daniel is an enigma within a puzzle. Why only 4 stars? There should always be ròom for improvement I know only one perfect person and He only authored one book. Definitely looking forward to the next one. You have good beta readers since I didn't find a single typo.

An interesting example of personal change.
The impact of time and circumstance is one of the lessons the main character learns in this final, so far, of the series. Briggs was exposed to new things and moved away from his military mind set. Well done by the author, who has a good feel for those who have been under arms in the ongoing defense of our nation.

Transformed
Daniel Briggs had Jack Daniels as his best friend but he finally felt that it was time to end that relationship and when he did he found a new friend... And, he made peace with the beast within himself too. This story was confusing because of the twists within the plot. But, life is confusing at time too. Daniel is well on his way towards Corp Justice.

Great book I do to think sadly about Nathaniel 30 years in the fire service in Miami-Dade
County I think I could still write the narrative of every child who died
on all calls I was on. And I have been retired 20 years. But all in all I have enjoyed the series. Hope there is more Daniel to come.

Once again, a very smooth read from C.G. Cooper. If you are seriously into military thrillers and haven't read him yet, please give his Corp Justice series a look. This ex-military/foreign affairs expert puts his experience in every story and that's why it's difficult to put these books down. Semper Fi!

Good story with a very different plot and progression through the twists and turns of the overall mystery. Too much inner self revelation for me but others might see it as critical to the tale. Different from my introduction to the character.

Very seldom do we come face to face with a power greater than ourselves, but Daniel not only meets the Beast within him, but also his guardian angel. Between the two, Daniel learns who is really is and why he has survived every trial and test that man's evil can throw at him. Learning who he is and how he came to that simple truth changed Daniel forever. The details of that journey you'll have to read for yourself, but I promise you that you will enjoy the truth that exists for everyone. Thanks for another great read.

Good Story again!
Another good story! Although I got the impression that the Author believes prostitution is legal in the whole state of Nevada. It is not legal in Clark (Las Vegas) or Washoe County.

Exciting fast read
I love Daniel and he just gets better with every book. This time the plot is really twisted and and I can't say I was totally satisfied with the ending. But they can't all be happy I guess.

Daniel Briggs' character has been superstitious and ethereal in all the novels by C. G. Cooper. Now the secret has been revealed and it totally explains how Daniel's demeanor was formed. I certainly recommend this book.

Didn’t want to put it down
I really enjoyed this latest installment of getting to know Daniel Briggs. I didn’t want to stop reading once i started it. The twist with the assassin (s) kept me on the edge of my seat.

I have read several of Mr Coopers novels and have not had any disappointments. "Tested" was an excellent example, fast moving, intense, and an evolving plot. I really enjoyed.

Incredible Series - I could read this series again
I must confess - I am being sincere - I did not figure out the ending. I had to read/listen to several sections at the end again. I really liked the end. Godspeed!!! I’m off to authors next book on Daniel.

Definitely a five star book
Wonderful story lots of action and really makes you pause. If you have not read any other books in this series you will surely fall in love with. Daniel Briggs, at least the ladies will and the men may not admit it. Highly recommended.

Great story, great message
The story just pulls you forward, the characters keep you moving from book to book. I like military characters, patriots, and strong values. These books have that and more. Lookkng forward to the next.
