After finishing a rewarding career in finance and accounting, it was time for award-winning author Rosalie Redd to put away the spreadsheets and take out the word processor. She pens paranormal, science fiction, and fantasy romance in her office cave located in Oregon, where rain is just another excuse to keep writing.
This the third installment in the series. I don’t think this can be read as a standalone because I haven’t read the first two books and I didn’t know what was going for the first few chapters.
So, in a nutshell, two powerful alien races set up a game to determine which one will gain absolute control over earth’s water supply. The winner will either share the water with the human race or destroy it. Given the name of the book I would have thought romance would be at the front and center of the book but instead it took a very back seat. Not only that but instead of romance the two “main” characters got together because of the mating instinct, which I suppose is not bad in this kind of stories but there really was no romance, none whatsoever. It was insta-atraction and the only intimate moment they spent together was just a bam, wham, thank you, ma’am. The female fell for the guy for no apparent reason, and then followed him to his world just because he was the love of her life. Yeah, ok.
Romance aside, I really wanted to like this story. It was entertaining and I felt the idea was in the right place because it had the potential of being an epic fantasy but in the end it really missed the mark. The thing of the matter is that the characters although somewhat interesting, felt flat and there was way too much description of EVERYTHING. Instead of anyone just entering a threshold, there was the finding the keys, turning the key, pushing the door, throwing the key on the table, turning the light on, and so forth and so on. I suppose that may be considered a matter of preference but I prefer the showing more than telling. I also got to a point where I got tired of everyone fisting their hands by their side and clenching their jaws. Too many clichés can take away from the reading enjoyment and I think this is what happened in this case.
2.5 stars rounded to 3.
***I received this book at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***
In book three in the Warriors of Lemuria series, Tanen finally catches up with the traitor, Mauree, after a long chase. He’s determined to protect his king and people by any means necessary, but he’s not a warrior—he’s a scholar and the council leader of the Stiyaha race (an alien race from the planet Lemuria that now lives on Earth). After a few Gossum attack and nearly kill him, he seeks shelter on a human’s property, never expecting he would meet the love of his life. Nurse Sheri Lockwood tends to the injured man in her shed. He’s nothing but trouble—just like her absent father and her drug-addicted ex-husband, Ram—but she’s drawn to him. Then she realizes he’s not human, and her life turns upside down. Tanen and Sheri are great characters. He craves redemption for his sins and finally proves he is a strong, honorable man. She faces her fear and stands by Tanen’s side in a spectacular fashion. The chemistry between them is off the charts. There weren’t many sex scenes, but that’s understandable because the course of this story takes place in a few short days. Ram returns after dying in the previous book, Untamable Lover, and I’m so happy he did. This book wouldn’t have made sense without him! I liked the scenes with Alora on Lemuria, but she keeps making mistakes and letting Zedron get her into trouble. I’m anxious for her to fight back. I like Ms. Redd’s writing style. The story flowed well and kept my attention, but sometimes I didn’t know who was speaking (one character would act or think something, and another character would speak in that same paragraph). Anyway, I’m excited to read the next book in the series. 4 Stars
Karma can find you anywhere. At least it found Ram, the leader of the Gossum. Tired of his failure in defeating the Stiyaha, Zedron decides to give Ram a taste of cruel reality when he resurrects him once more from the dead only to leave him bruised, battered and broken in the human world.
To make sure Ram's suffering is complete, Zedron places Ram in the hospital of his ex-wife from his human days, Sheri. Sheri works as a nurse. Fortunately or unfortunately for Ram, Sheri is his nurse and what particular torture it becomes for Ram when Sheri falls for Stiyaha council leader, Tanen who she finds hiding in her shed. Tanen is in pursuit of Maruree who escaped the keep before her death sentence could be carried out.
Tanen has brought a bit of heat to Sheri's house when Mauree and Jakar join forces and come in search of the blue stone Tanen stole from King Noeh. Sheri can't relocate to Seattle soon enough. Between the creepy patient (Ram), Tanen, and events she can't explain, Sheri is more than ready to move on. However, the move to Seattle is not in the future for Sheri after she falls for Tanen, kleptomania, heartburn and all. Even her retired police dog Cooper falls for him as well. More importantly, Sheri doesn't realize the role she will play in Zedron and Alora's war game.
When the Stiyaha catches up with Tanen, redemption may be too late for the council leader for his failure to sentence Mauree and the theft of the blue stone. All this may pale in comparison since Tanen's found his mate in Sheri. A new warrior is born during the battle with the Gossum and Ursas with Mauree as their leader. Troubled times indeed!
Such a fun series. In this book, Tanen is still searching for Mauree after her escape from her prison cell for trying to kill the Queen and her baby. Mauree, crazier than a loon, has joined forces with the Gossum to defeat the Stiyaha. Tanen finds Mauree and the fight that follows is devastating. On the brink of death, Tanen hides inside a garden shed. When Sherri, a human, finds him and helps him recover, feelings both have refused to acknowledge surface. I love that Sherri took the time to help Tanen with no strings. I do wish he would have explained the transition to her. I loved how Coop (Sherri's retired police dog companion) decided that Tanen was good enough to be friends with and was able to use his skills to help. I was also extremely impressed with Ram's appearance in the story again. It gave me goosebumps. Due to circumstances surrounding Mauree and Tanin's disappearance, Noeh had to punish Tanen and I loved how that came out. Sherri has so much to learn about her Dren gift and life in the Keep. I feel so sorry for the Ursas players, especially Thorin. They're stuck with Mauree and her darkness. I wonder how things are gonna change with Mauree losing the power of the sunstone. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A wonderful, intriguing Sci-Fi alien romance & an enjoyable read. It is the third book in the series “Worlds of Lemuria; Earth Colony” The plot is intriguing, well-thought out and written. It keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well-developed with individual personalities and have believable emotional feelings & reactions to the situations they find themselves in while going through various trials & tribulations. It is about: a human female nurse (Sheri) finds an injured shape shifting man (Tanen) who was injured while hunting an escaped traitor (Mauree) & they become attracted to each other & from here the story begins. Sheri’s beloved dog (Coop) There is: a battle between good & evil, a blue sunstone, royalty, goddesses, gods, humans, mates, twists & turns intrigue, suspense, adventure, action, secrets, trust issues, duty, honor, danger, threats, violence, enemies/villains, traitors, vendettas, ceremonies, conflict, memories, insecurities, deceit, betrayal, devious plans, complications, manipulations, doubts, blackmail, emotional turmoil, portals, decisions, mating instincts, bonding, love, contentment, some steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy ending for the two main characters. I look forward to the next book in the series with great anticipation.
“Home…it wasn’t a place. It was a state of mind…being with the ones you loved.” What a great story! Miss Redd is a very talented author who weaves a rich tapestry filled with vivid images and fully realized characters. This had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Tanen and Sheri’s beautiful and powerful pairing is wonderfully portrayed as they engage in the battle with the evil Gossum. In spite of terrible odds, betrayal and danger, they persist and the climax and resolution to the story are very satisfying. The happenings in Lemuria and the battle between Alora and Zedron add to the drama and suspense and provide an added dimension to this already well-rounded story. I have also been waiting to hear more about Ram, the Gossum’s former leader, and I was delighted to find his story resolved here, too. If you’ve not started this series, you’d be well advised to begin with book 1. While this book could be read with no prior knowledge, your reading experience will be greatly enhanced if you begin at the beginning. I highly recommend this to any lover of PNR. I received a complimentary copy from the author and willingly choose to review.
A highly addicting paranormal treat with a sexy alpha hero and an amazingly strong and compassionate heroine! I am smitten with Tanen and Sheri. Their love is soft, sexy, sweet, utterly captivating...just like this storyline and plot! I am in love with these warriors and the women that has them falling in love.
Imagined Lover by Rosalie Redd is an absolute MUST read, MUST buy, MUST have on your bookshelf! The story is perfectly paced with unbelievably AWESOME characters and heart-pounding action that will leave you no doubt, on the edge and biting your lip. The romance and heat is HOT HOT HOT and speaks to my inner romantic and whispers sweet nothings to her with every turn of the page. God, how I LOVED IT!
Unimaginable Lover gets a SWEEP ME UP INTO THE SKY FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I am just amazed and in awe of this series that just seems to get better and better.
Continuing in the world of Lemurians, Unimaginable Lover is the story of Tanen and Sheri. A sci-fi romance filled with betrayal, passion, duty and honor. Not to mention a shifter and a human together.
Tanen is on a mission to find justice, on the quest he become wounded and bonds with the human who rescues him. Will he continue with his duty or further his bond with Sheri? With a heart of stone, Sheri finds herself in a world far beyond her imagination. Nursing Tanen back from a mortal wound, she finds herself softening. But if there is one thing she has learned, it’s not to trust.
With stories that flow together, the worldbuilding continues and is woven into the plot and characters. Beware the Lemurian Gods have their own plans for the Earth colony. I continue to enjoy the series and learning more about the Lemurians and the fate of the Earth colonies. I voluntarily reviewed Unimaginable Lover as an advanced copy from the author.
Rosalie Redd is a new author to me but I was intrigued by the blurb about the story and so opted to read a copy. having said that this is book 3 of the series -Worlds Of Lemuria; Earth Colony #3 - but I was still able to enjoy the story without knowing all that background [though I assume it would have been better if I had]. The storyline is interesting and unique - how many of us have found a gorgeous, injured man in our sheds?? The characters were fascinating and really kept me on their toes. Tanen [hero] and Sheri [heroine] have had a checkered past each and are struggling to cope but can these two people have a meaningful relationship and make their lives worthwhile? Will they be stopped and ripped apart~? To find out get your own copy to find out. As I enjoyed this story I do intend to read books 1 and 2 now.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love this awesome sci-fi romance! It is sweet and sexy. Fun to read, and discover more of this fascinating world! I volunteered to read a review copy of this book and I was not obligated to leave this review.
Awesome storyline, leader must capture a trater and dual out punishment. Why not ask for help? Instead finds his love. Drama action and plots with heroiane twists for sure. This war may never end, but the battles are many.
Is the human race a mere player in a game, or maybe they are much more? Only 2 have been turned to Dren, but both have had a very important role in this deadly game created because of the hurt ego of the god Zedron. The goddess Alora is not aware that Zedron watches very carefully and unaware of this attempts to aide her most valued, but depleting players The Stiyaha. Once again she is punished by Radnor for interefering in the war game and has lost her very strong players to Zedron.
Tanen Counsel Leader of the Stiyaha feels responsible for the escape of the traitorous Mauree and leaves the Keep hell bent on finding her before she gets her revenge on King Noeh, his mate and son for shaming her in front of the Stiyaha by choosing Melissa for his Queen instead of her. He is not a warrior and finds himself seeking refuge in the home of a human from the rays of the daylight. He finds his mate in her, but will not put her in danger by staying, but unknowingly turns her into a Dren.
Sherri is trying to forget her very terrible relationship with her heroine addict ex husband Ram by doing the only thing she knows, running. When she finds the very alluring hurt stranger in her shed, her nursing instinct kick in and she can't tun him away. Ram has been killed, but Zedron returns his Gammun leader to the body of a suffering man and Sherri is his nurse. Will the love that Ram has never lost for Sherri redeem his soul and send him to Lemuria?
OMG is this series getting better and better with each book, or what? You never know what is going to happen from one to the next and I've been hanging by a thread trying to figure out if the Ursu are friends, or foe. Don't get me wrong this is not a cliffhanger by any means, only very suspenseful and intriguing.
In Unimaginable Lover, we see more about Tanen - an unlikely warrior, book lover, and truth seeker. You might even say he is 'unimaginable'!
He is chasing after Mauree, determined that she face her punishment as a traitor to the realm. However, he ends up losing a fight with some Gossum, and crawls to a shed in the hope he can recover. He is found by Sheri, the one we've already heard so much about, Ram's ex-wife. She knows absolutely nothing about the world that her ex-husband and Tanen live in, but she is about to become part of it, whether she wants to or not. We also see more of Verome and Alora, learning that they are not the gods that the Stiyaha etc think they are, but beings capable of making mistakes, being hurt, and suffering loss.
This story is very well written, with a smooth plot and pace, and no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. I would definitely recommend this book, but as part of the series rather than a standalone, as I do feel you would get the most out of it knowing Tanen's history, and Sheri's "involvement". For a wonderful Sci-Fi/Paranormal Romance, definitely start this series!
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *
Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Jan 31, 2017
Unimaginable Lover took me on a journey and bonding of a mixed race/species couple that should not have been together but fate had a different path for them both to travel down. This was the read that I had been waiting on when I began this series. The was just something about Tanen that caught my attention, maybe it was being a book lover. Tanen was not your typical warrior. He was drawn in by a perceived wrong and the desire to make it right. In the process, he may just lose more than he had to bargain with to begin with. This road he travels takes him in the direction of Sheri. She has more to learn than she could have ever imagined. She never imagined a lover that would love her for who she was and what she loved. Tanen fills the bill and she fills his. Their forbidden love will be put to the test in various ways. Come journey with them as they find the true meaning of love. The world that begun growing in my mind with the first book has grown into a realm that encompasses vivid imagery. I love the detail given. I love the characters. I find that the interconnection of the couples, the plotline, the history makes the reads flow and grow with each new addition to the series. I found that this plot was smooth and steady. We get to see old and new characters from the course of the series.
This book is part of an interesting series about two groups on Earth that are engaged in a game unknown to the residents of Earth and being controlled by the leaders of another planet. They want access to water. It is a battle of good verses evil and the winning team will determine whether Earth's residents are treated like slaves or like partners.
I do recommend you read the books in order to get the most enjoyment. In this book, Tanen's poor choice leads to a major issue for his group and he feels he must make up for the mistake. During his attempt to fix the issue, he is hurt badly. A human woman named Sheri finds him on her property and takes care of him. He is not allowed to tell her about himself and what is going on but finds it hard to leave her. Sheri had a very difficult marriage and was not looking for another man but Tanen seems so perfect for her. She finds herself in the middle of the battle before long and has an interesting connection.
There is lots of action and romance in the book. It is easy to be drawn into the story and the characters. The author does switch the narration among several of the characters which makes for a more intense connection which I enjoyed.
A week on the hunt for the escaped prisoner, Tanen catches up with the traitor Mauree and she's not alone. After being badly beaten by the Gossum and close to death, Tanen is able to find shelter from the sun in a humans shed, but not for long. Sheri is a rehab nurse on her way to Portland to start brand new. A terrible marriage and a lying, drug addicted husband, she just wants to forget. Coming home from the hospital she finds a gorgeous, yet completely wounded man in her shed. Compelled to help him, she doesn't realize exactly who and what he is and who else she'll come across. Someone else she has been taking care of in a whole other way. Definitely loving this series. I very much enjoyed this book. For some reason, I really enjoyed Maurees character. No matter how evil a character can be, the deviousness in some just hook me. I was up in arms a few times at some of the plot twist, but hey, that makes for fantastic reading! This is not only a great stand alone book, but would recommend the series from the start. I am very much looking forward to the next read! I give this a five star rating.
Wow! This latest installment, “Unimaginable Lover” grabbed me from the get-go and held on tight through the whole book! Another fan-freaking-tastic PNR storyline in a unique & entertaining fantasy world that kept me glued to my seat not wanting to stop! ... Get ready for a wild roller-coaster ride full of action & suspense, but wear some gloves, coz Ms. Redd knows how to turn up the heat in the bedroom ;) Fantastic attention to detail & well defined characters that you’ll love or hate, will keep the reader engaged & turning pages! ... Even though I volunteered to read this must read, these are my honest opinions without any outside influence. I highly recommend this to all adult fans of fiction!
Sheri finds an injured man in her shed and takes him indoors to patch him up but her life will never be the same again.Finding an injured man in her shed Sheri takes him into the house to patch him up and when she sees the extent of his wounds she want to call for medical help but he stops her from calling. Tanen is chasing a traitor but when he catches up with her she is with a Gossum only luck stops them from killing him. An adventure where gods use different species to fight wars like a game but a good read to relax with.

Wonderful continuation of the Warriors of Lemuria series by Ms. Redd. We get to see another side of a character from a previous book that I honestly never thought of as a possibility as a main character. Well that totally surprised me. LOL. That's how well these characters are developed. The story keeps you reading and the plot is well thought-out. Definitely worth your reading time!! I would highly recommend this series!! I received a free copy of this book. All the opinions stated here are mine and are given voluntarily.
Each of the books in the (currently) 5-book series is a standalone romance that will have you wanting to see more of these warrior lovers. I have enjoyed all of them and they all contain great action, suspenseful stories and charismatic characters that come alive in these incredible environments. I highly recommend this series of books and this author!
I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Another great book from the Worlds of Lemuria series. I enjoyed Tanen and Sheri's story and seeing the other characters too. I like how Rosalie Redd shows other sides to the villains in the story. I liked seeing Alora and Veromé again. So excited seeing Saar will hopefully be the next book. Since I read the first book I have been interested in his character.
This is the third book in the series and I really enjoyed it.With so much going on you find yourself pulled right into the story and not wanting to put it down.Tanen and Sheri were wonderful characters both have past baggage can they overcome it so they can be together.A super addition to the series.
This continuing story of the Lemurian's on Earth is just as good as the ones before it! Tanen and Sheri find each other and some major changes happen in the war. When will Alora bring evidence against Zedron? You need to get on that girl! I am anxious for the next installment in the series.
The third book in the series and I have really enjoyed it. This is Tanen and Sheri’s story about two people struggling with things from their pasts, can they overcome them and find a way to be together? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout book and liked it so much I also bought it.
WOW!!!! What else is there to say. This was a really HOT story, and you will be missing out if you don't read it. I couldn't put it down it was that good!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
We met Tanen in book two, he is the council leader and tasked with keeping the traitor in the dungeons. Tanen makes a mistake, and chases off to try to save the colony. Sheri is Ram's ex-wife. When she finds Tanen in one of her sheds, she has an instant and powerful reaction to him.
Not as good as book two, but still a very enjoyable read.
Tanen is, as the title suggests, an unimaginable lover, a hero you don't see coming. I loved Tanen, and his internal demons. Loved Sheri and her external ones. Loved how the two of them came together and LOVED who helps them! Did not see that one coming, I tell ya!!
The Gods and Goddesses are again playing with peoples lives, but one wants to keep Earth free and the other wants to enslave it. I still can't see where their story arc is going, that one is proper keeping me on my toes!
I'd love to read more of this series as they come out. I just hope the author doesn't drag it out for too long, because there does come a point when you gotta say, enough, we need a winner.
