The adventure continues in Elayna Miller, book two!
Elayna Miller kills people for a living, but only when they really deserve it...
Once one of the CIA’s most talented agents, Elayna Miller struck off on her own for moral reasons. Now surrounded by a like-minded team, she selects her cases carefully and only kills those who really have it coming.

Be sure to follow me on Goodreads to get every update! I live in sunny California with my handsome husband and my slobbery English Mastiff, Rupert. I've always loved stories and wanted to write novels. When I'm not getting words on the page, I'm walking my dog or cooking something (hopefully) delicious. Feel free to ask me a question or connect with me here, but you can also find me on Instagram or my website, JillMBeene.com. I so appreciate my readers! Thank you!
I'm really enjoying this series. It reminds me a little of Gregg Hurtwitz's Orphan X series, except with more of a group feel. The synopsis was terrible for this book though. In this book, Elayna is still dealing with people in the group pairing off. Tensions arise in the group and Elayna her plate full with too many jobs, family tensions, and one team member hiding a secret.
Thumbs up from me and I'm excited to read the next book.
I can only hope more books are to come (based off the ending, it appears there will), and that they're out quickly!
I read this book through in one sitting, because it is just that engrossing. The heroine is basically 007, but with the capability of being faithful to a singular partner.. I adore that and found this book to be a true treat to read. I only hope more people will begin to review this book, because this series definitely has major potential!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Elayna Miller is a real person with real relationships. If you enjoy laughing out loud while you read this is it. Sir Darcy and Bruno, I can't wait to meet up with you again! Book #3 please.
It didn't really come as a surprise to me that Hyde got injured, but part of me wishes that circumstances would have been more dire? He got shot, but almost immediately we learned that he would be okay, so I didn't get the heart-wrenching feeling I wanted (don't get me wrong, though, I'm definitely happy that he's well). I also found myself wondering what Howard was up to a lot of the time. Elayna threw so much stuff onto Frankie's shoulders while Howard just kind of hung around? I don't know, it kind of made him feel like a filler character besides the few times where things needed to go boom.
Another part that rubbed me the wrong way was a comment that Elayna made about being gay - the way she said it made it seem like sexual orientation is a choice (e.g. people just choose to be gay); that isn't true.
Apart from those things, though, I had a wonderful time with this book, and I'm looking forward to the third installment of the series!

This was just good as the first one. Read the first one is my recommendation and then the second one you’ll enjoy even more.. they can be read alone, but I recommend you read them in order. They are just wonderful good heart rendering stories and I’m so glad I haven’t missed him. I’m looking forward to book 3, but I have a feeling it’s going to be the last one in the series.. I’m not sure I want to live with that so I will wait a while before I read book 3. But they are so good. I highly recommend them. They are wonderful, exciting loving stories and they always end good., even though you’re on the edge of your seat and you think for sure something is going to ruin the book.. but it doesn’t. It’s wonderful stories by them you will so enjoy them.
I very rarely read books in a series back-to-back. The first book, Kill Girl, was so satisfying that I jumped right in to Fury Girl. The premise of the books deal in violence, but the relationships and interactions among all the characters in the story are respectful and tender. The laugh out loud scenes balance any darker themes. The reader can dive in as if characters are old friends.
I love these characters! If someone had told me there was a book about a killer for hire where the main character is delightful, adorable and hilarious, I never would have believed them! I have laughed so hard at the antics of our heroes, and winced at their pain and frustrations. Jill makes us feel for them and with them. Seriously, so entertaining, interesting and fun to read! Please keep writing!
Early this A.M. I finished book 1. Started book 2 with my morning coffee. Nothing got done today! I'm not complaining, I'm grateful I have been lost in a terrific story. I hope book 3 is in process. These days in lock down can drag, but for me books are freedom. I am recommending this series.
The author is a natural conversationalist - her characters flow easily, an d interestingly and the responses always surprise me. The good hearted assassin was so well done here and the climactic end was exquisitely satisfying. I can only hope there is a 3rd book coming.
Gotta love a book that has lots of action and real romance. Not the incredibly over done swooning so many have. I love all the characters. They are real rather than the stereotypes I usually see. Ready for book 3.
Here's where we really get to know Elayna's team. The sister in law is (still) horrible - sorry, no redemption arc there as of yet. Good ending and set up for book three.
These books are gripping and funny and have just the right amount of romance. Don’t start reading if you have things to get done—you won’t be able to put this down!
