Book Two in the League of Vampires Series. This series is best read in order.
A half-blood by birth. Anissa Garnet is half-fae, half-vampire. And she's not the daughter of just any fae, she's the daughter of Gregor, the leader of the fae. Except now she's made the mistake of walking away from her fae kind. As if that wasn't bad enough, she left her mother's kind--vampires--behind. Now this half-breed has gone rogue, but she hasn't done it alone.
Vampire clan leader no more. Jonah Bourke not only stepped down from being a clan leader, he also left behind his entire clan, the one he was destined to rule. All to merge his fate with Anissa, the slayer that had been sent to kill him.
New Alliances, old foes. The Sanctum provides more than sanctuary. It provides answers, which sometimes leads to more questions, and then even more threats.
Really getting into things in book two. So far I'm finding these books quite good. There is always a lot going on, secrets being revealed, other secrets being kept it's great. I enjoy the characters, their different personalities and interactions. Starting book three now.
Edited: *It's been mentioned I'm sharing spoils. If you havent read this book yet then stop reading my review. I don't want to ruin this good book for you.*
This started out slow and had to figure out what was going on when they kept on flipping back and forth in each chapter with who's talking in that chapter. Then it started getting good.
Anissa and Jonah go off to a cave looking place underground to find a safe place. Instead Jonah found his father who's hiding in a different dimension and with a different name now. Anissa was out in the sun and got burned and fed on a human which is against the agreement between humans and vampires.
Anissa went to live with her father in the fae world and Jonah went to figure out what's actually going on with his brother Gage.
Philippa is head over her vampire clan now and her old boy friend is trying to get her back in a way. She doesn't want to get back with him because Vance cheated on her and doesn't want to deal with that pain again. Philippa is trying to figure out what's going on with Gage and Jonah.

Vampire clan leader Jonah Bourke not only stepped down from being a clan leader, he also left behind his entire clan, the one he was destined to rule. All to merge his fate with Anissa, the slayer that had been sent to kill him.

Now the enemy is behind the clan to destroy and black sheep of family is helping them eradicate
The first book was great, but then the characters seemed to unravel and somehow become incompetent as the plot moved on. Anissa starts out as this very competent vampire assassin who is tough and cunning. In the second book, she is made out to barely even be able to tie her own shoes. Same with her love interest--he goes from clan leader to not being able to make a decision or function. Every character is going a different direction and are always working against everyone else. Rather than being intrigued by all the twists and turns in the plot it becomes predictable and childish.
Even though I haven't read book one I really loved this book. I'm definitely grabbing book 1 and book 3 when it comes out. I can't wait to see if Anissa and Jonah stay together and if Fane and Jonah find Gage and give Luicen what he deserves for all he's done to their family.
Great Book I love 💘the book and thank you will find that out for your self The book was great and powerful I could not possible put the book down Thank You For Letting Me Read This book
In this second book the series is moving on in a few directions. It could get a bit muddled I hope it does not because it has potential and near the end it started to show some interesting story lines.
This was a different take on vampires. I have only red a few books talking about half blood vampires. But this one has them mixed with other supernaturals.
I usually really like vamp stories. This one was okay. It just seemed a bit boring, not a lot going on for there being vampires, fae, witches and shades.
Not bad for free...minor grammatical mistakes and occasionally frustrated by the constant damsel in distress scenarios but intriguing ending that has me waiting for the next book in the series
A wonderful follow up to the first book! Jonah has abdicated his position as leader of the Bourke clan in order to be with Anissa. It's a hard road as wherever Anissa goes, trouble seems to follow! They are hiding in a place called Sanctuary where legendary Custodians chronicle the happenings of the world since the beginning of time. However even there they are in danger. If they are discovered, there is no telling what the other Custodians will do. Jonah's twin, Gage, is still missing and Enforcers are hunting Anissa. It seems that no place is safe for them when all they want is to be together. A mysterious man from Jonah's past makes a surprise appearance and brings up even more questions about the honor of the League and the true cause of the Great Fire which killed Anissa's mother and many of the Carver clan; leading to their standing feud. This is a must read packed with magic, danger, and love. Highly enjoyable and I can't wait to read the next one!
The world created by the author continues to expand, and the plot becomes increasingly complex. The mechanic of telling the story first person but shifting the point of view from character to character allows motivations to be explained.in a reasonable way. But while new characters are developing depth I didn't feel the main characters grew much. Still an enjoyable read.
I felt this installment to be big let own after the 1st explosive novel. The girl became a fumbling idiot, the sharp supper assassin is completely gone. The guy became a boy with IQ of ameba and their siblings were petty and self centered. The plot didn't advance much.

I really enjoyed reading this story. There was action, adventure, mystery, and relationship complications. I will definitely be picking up the rest of the series!
