If Marigold can’t save her own soul, she'll be the first in a sea of victims. Marigold La Roux finds herself trapped with the raging demon locked inside her own skin. As it hunts down the last shards of her soul, Marigold is flung from one twisted reality to the next. Lost in a maze of madness and memories, Marigold needs to reclaim her body before it’s too late. While Ma is willing to sacrifice Marigold to save millions, Louis isn’t ready to give up just yet. Led by a ghost that's keen on destruction, Louis travels to the notorious La Roux plantation, a place forever scarred by the evil birthed within it. But not everyone is eager to bring the origins of the family curse to light. With Louis inside, sinister forces plot to never let him leave the plantation ... in body or soul. Past and present collide as Marigold and the demon battle for control. Old ghosts rise, ancient powers claw their way into the waking world, and forgotten horrors carve new paths of destruction. Hell is opening and it’s looking for a soul to take. Revised and re-edited April 2017
Marigold is having a really bad time. The demon that’s been attached to the La Roux family is really not letting up, and the stress is starting to show on everyone. Louis is stuck making some very difficult decision, with results that could be terrible for everyone.
I greatly enjoyed his third instalment, the small ensemble cast in this series really have won me over. I like the characters and as I work through this series it’s been nice to see them developing. If you enjoy supernatural/paranormal fiction, give this series a try.
I am so glad each book picked right back up with ease. She gets to the predicament early in the book so that all the paranormal events last tell the very end. Oh, what an ending this book had! I was intrigued by the whole story, the characters, the demons, what a fun refreshing look into a part of magic and culture I know nothing about. . Marigolds character remained strong throughout the series, I enjoyed that she didn’t fall apart in each book. She fought for her freedoms, for friendships, family, and in the end, things seemed to work out for her. Every time I read Louis, I kept thinking of Anne Rice, especially having the book set in New Orleans. He wasn’t an overbearing character, he added a great deal of knowledge to Marigold’s history without being the masculine male character, I felt Marigold was the stronger character and helped him most of the time. The descriptions of the ghosts, demon, paranormal sightings were easy to understand and imagine what was happening around the characters while giving me something new I hadn’t thought of before.
Another will written fantasy world 🌎 haunting horror ghost 👻 demons monsters short story by Sara Clancy and Scare Street(Dark Legacy Series book 3). Marigold is possessed by the demon. She is in the hospital with ma working too free Marigold from the demon. It works in the end with Marigold and Louis making a family continuing to La Crue legacy. I would highly recommend this trilogy too readers of fantasy haunting adventure mysteries. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening. 2022 👒😉🏡
Third installment to Dark Legacy. Can I just say that this poor girl cannot catch a break. I really do not know how she is still standing or how she will live the rest of her life without some serious issues..
The end was pretty glossy and presented itself with a bow of completion- but it is not completed for me. It's like voodoo riding off into black abyss.
At no point reading this book did i know what was happening next. I had what i thought was going to happen, and then WHAM twist. And the rnding was completely out of left feild and incredible.
Have read all three books now and though Book 2 may have been my favorite, this book tied up all the questions in a neat bow. If you like to read about ghosts, demons, voodoo, New Orleans....then this trilogy is for you but read the books in order if you want to get the full effect!
At first I wasn't sure if I would like this book as well as the first two. Marigold going into all these different realities and all. But after some getting used to, I enjoyed it. And although the ending was a little cheesy, this was just the book that needed that type of ending!
Poor Marigold just keeps getting put through hell literally. For as short as this series is (it could have been one book) the authors did an excellent job introducing and fleshing out the characters in every entry. Thankfully during these novellas Marigold has Louis and his clan on her side. Because let me tell you if it weren’t for all of their support she surely wouldn’t have made it out of this one alive! Fast paced action and detail on every page kept me locked in. If you love reading about demons and possession this series is for you. Short and sweet with a happy ending I wasn’t sure Marigold would get.
