From thriller and suspense master Brett Battles comes Dream Sky, the sixth book in the continuing Project Eden thriller saga.

A hush has settled over the planet. The once dominant human race is in full retreat. But man is not yet defeated.

Augustine dream sky. These were Matt Hamilton’s last words. Daniel Ash has no idea what they mean, but he’s sure they are key to defeating Project Eden. His only hope is that he’s able to figure out the secret in time.

The survivors on Isabella Island are surrounded by death, and need to get off the island before the flu can claim them, too. But there are not enough boats at the resort to get everyone to safety. The only solution involves a risky trip to the mainland that may be even more dangerous than remaining on the island.

In Mumbai, Sanjay’s friends watch as the Project Eden survival station is abandoned. Curious, they search the facility once everyone has left. They expect to find very little, and at first they are right. But only at first.

Ben Bowerman’s search for his girlfriend, Martina Gable, takes him to the only place left he thinks she can be. When he gets there, he’s hurled into the unexpected, where he begins to see the truth of what is really going on, and knows if he doesn’t do something drastic, his days are numbered.

And in an idyllic town covered by a blanket of snow, all is quiet. Except for the rotating squad of soldiers who watch and wait for a problem they believe becomes more and more unlikely as each day passes. The world, after all, is quickly depleting.

But they are wrong.

The End Begins. In this longest book of the PROJECT EDEN series so far, Brett Battles does a superb job of taking us from the shocking ending of EDEN RISING, bringing the key players back together briefly as they figure out the enigmatic message that ended that book, and setting up a truly global endgame. Fraught with taut sequences that fill the reader with dread about the possible survival of characters you've been following for several books now, this book is arguably the single best book in the series of leaving the reader desperate to dive into the next book. Fortunately for those of us late arrivers to this series, the next and final book in this saga has already been published. But I had to write this review before I can allow myself to go to the next book, so goodb

I love the Project Eden series! Dream Sky, in particular, leaves you on the edge of your set the whole time & I can hardly bear the cliffhanger at the end! So close, yet so far! Hurry, Brett, and publish the next one!

Getting rid of a pet peeve in a review is a lot like quickly getting a rock out of your shoe. Once you’ve done that, you can walk in comfort and even a spirit of contemplation. So, let’s get the pet peeve out of the way. I get frustrated with lazy narrators who can’t look up a pronunciation that really shouldn’t be hard to find. That’s the case in this book and the narrator’s constant reference to Ely, Nevada as Eli. I can forgive Mr. Andrews if he’s never passed through the charming, ever-so-memorable town of Ely. Admittedly, not all of us can claim that thrill. But it’s at least well enough known in the landscape of American cartography that he could have pronounced the town’s name right in this book. Lazy human narrators are worse than AI voices. I can forgive an AI voice for mispronouncing a city name. But I don’t know how you give a human narrator quite the same pass. I don’t mean to be vindictive, but if this is as good as it gets with a human, let’s bring on those AI voices and get on with it. They’re coming anyway whether we like it or not.

This has been a magnificent series, and I note that there is one more book in it before it ends. That one appears to be quite short. What I love most about the book is this grassroots movement to champion liberty and human rights over elitism. The author does a magnificent job of portraying elitists in this book as the kind of villains they really can be. They would be unharmed by a virus that wipes out hundreds of millions. They took great pains to ensure that the vaccine they developed would inoculate them against any adversity. But there was no concern at all about the millions indeed the billions who died. They thrilled to the idea that the invasive species that is mankind was about to give the earth its desperately needed rest.

In this book, you will read about several sets of characters. There is a group of anti-elitists in India who seek to liberate their country from the project elites. These are wonderful freedom fighters, and the chapters about them are riveting. You also read about the head of the resistance movement currently stationed in Nevada. That group of resistors we'll keep you glued to the book as you read about the things they accomplish to help steer survivors away from so-called United Nations survival stations. There's a group of college athletes in Southern California headed by Martina Gable who will give you lots of reasons to cheer. You need to read this to determine whether she and her boyfriend, Ben, find a way back to one another.

You want to pay close attention to the scene changes so that you don't get confused as to where you are in the book and which group you're reading about. It moves from these tiny pockets of resistance in places like Chicago and India to Southern California and elsewhere.

I read this in a single sitting, and because of the excellence of the plot, I had no choice. The entire series is like that. I would strongly recommend reading the previous five books. By the way, this isn't a COVID-19 story. Yes, obviously it references a pandemic that kills billions, but the focus is on the survivors. I can promise you all of them are worth reading about.

Dream Sky Project Eden Book 6 By Brett Battles.

After 5 books Dream Sky arrives and Battles starts to move all the chess pieces into place for the final showdown in book 7 Down.
So the end begins as we find our heroes spread throughout the globe after the devastating finale of Eden Rising.
The books in the series have gone from strength to strength and Dream Sky is no different the writing is great with Battles tidying up all the lose ends of the many different stories we have been following throughout this roller coaster of a journey and putting them in all the right places to begin the end of the series.
Battles has to be commended for keeping the reader interested with all the large number of events and characters that have been taking place over the books whilst keeping the tension high with spending just enough time with each story line so Us the reader never got bored or confused with who is where and why.
My only gripe with Dream Sky is that the Kids this time round are virtually forgotten as I felt over the last few books they became an important part of the story but maybe that's just me.
This action takes a back seat this time round and the focus is on the survivors and closing out there
individual stories.
This has been a fantastic series of books and I for one will be sad when it ends, I would love for this to get picked up by one of the many streaming services it would make for some fantastic telly.
However with the events of COVID things written in this story may be a little too close to home for some.

Well worth your time and hard-earned cash.

This is the 6th (out of 7 in the series) book in the Project Eden series.. I would suggest that you read all of the books in order.

But there are not enough boats at the resort to get everyone to safety. everything is coming together

As the groups of survivors have gravitated to each other the story has become more intense and even more difficult to put down. Looking forward to see how it all concludes but also not ready to leave this world that Battles has created and basically stranded the reader inside

After the shock ending in Eden rising the Resistance needs to pause and regroup although not for long as the human slaughter by Project Eden is not over. Rachel is having a hard time coming to terms with Matt’s loss and has taken a back seat.

Ash, who has become the leader of the Resistance, and Chloe are doing their best to work out what Matt meant by ‘Augustine Dream Sky’

Pax is having problems getting the survivors off Isabella Island before a fly over by Project Eden members checking for anyone left alive after they saturated the island with the Sage Flu virus. Pax manages to get the ferry out into the open sea just in time but Robert doesn’t make it to the ferry in time. There is a speed boat in the harbour but he can hear the drone of the plane’s engines in the distance.

Martina and Ben are still searching for each other and Ben’s search leads him to a survival station. It doesn’t take long before Ben suspects all is not as it seems. Belinda also makes it to a survival station but she too is suspicious and wishes she’d stayed at the dorm.

In Mumbai Sanjay, Kusum and their friends find an abandoned station which proves invaluable to the Resistance.

Thoughts

Top marks to Mr Battles for racking up the suspense and tension even more, if that’s possible, while keeping unto date with the groups of survivors. It’s impossible not to be drawn in, it’s like being there, part of each group and willing them to succeed.

There’s so much evil running through the Project Eden people and it’s intensified in this story in comparison to the good work the Resistance is doing trying to save as many people as they can at great risk to their own safety. The parallel stories and characters are so well written and the final section of the story is amazingly nerve-wracking with the world-wide co-ordinated attacks on the survival stations.

Ash and Chloe finally understand what Dream Sky is and means and Ash is ready to give the go ahead for their part in the operation. Watch this space!

So far this is a decent, fun little adventure series. It's all action without much going on beneath the surface, but there's nothing wrong with that every now and then. Battles seems to struggle at times with juggling so many characters and plot lines, but at this point all of those seem to be getting more consolidated and manageable. The first book had a decent amount of mystery and intrigue, but in all the books after that these elementgs are almost nonexistent. For instance, the back story of the resistance movement isn't questioned or even hinted at for so long, I thought Battles had forgotten about it or thought that it didn't matter. Then the answer drops pretty much out of nowhere in the fifth book, and it's impact suffers from lack of any buildup whatsoever.

The death of Matt made me worry about their leadership, but it was proved unfounded. Rachel is the one and Ash and Pax are her backups, I think that performs well.
And finally they are collapsing the axis of evil.

Having somethings to want to say through the series, but I like Mr.Battles. He is a good author I think. I want to read the next one!

I was bored. This book tried too hard to be mysterious when it's simply not necessary. The plot is interesting without all the gimmicks. Just show me what's happening, no need to give me a fifty-page cliffhanger.

The characters became less relatable, which was another problem. Martina's search for Ben turned her into a stupid and heartless character.

It's a shame, I was truly enjoying the series, but now... I don't care.

Another great story in the "Project Eden" series! The action and suspense are non-stop and travel all over the world. I really got drawn into the sub=plots happening in different locations. The resistance group continues to organize and fight against the Project Eden leaders and tries to help remaining survivors. Can't wait for the next book!

Brett did an excellent job of shifting the focus between the four main plot lines, this really helped build suspense and kept the stories from bogging down. A few parts of this book had me totally captivated and anxious. This is one of the best in the series, a true gem.
