Actually, most of the women who work at Matiz Cosmetics have. It's understandable since the pictures went viral almost immediately after being posted online. Ryker Moore and his social media star girlfriend were photographed on a private beach in the Caribbean.
No swimsuits, no hats, and no bad camera angles.
Ryker's back in New York City and his relationship is over.
The fact that he's single shouldn't matter to me, but it does. It's not because I've secretly wanted him since I landed this job. It has absolutely nothing to do with that one kiss we shared under the mistletoe at the holiday party last year. It matters because of the way he looks at me when he doesn’t think I'm paying attention. That melts my heart but I know enough about Ryker to realize he's trouble.
He's the last thing I need, but that has nothing to do with what I want, does it?
Author's Note: Although a few characters from my past books make appearances in MELT, it's not necessary to read any of my other books to enjoy MELT.
Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.
She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.
Am I the only one to think that it's weak and pathetic when a woman pines after a man who kissed her and short after got a new gf whom he dated for a year? Is it sexy to want a man whose naked fotos are all over social network and all her coworkers saw them? And this man is her boss. Romantic over the top?.. The "best" part - everyone was ok with this situation, even her brother encouraged her. Except for their prehistory it was safe, no cheating after they got together, OW light drama.

For a short book it lacked chemistry, attraction and "hotness". The hero is weak. Not an alpha, at all. And this is a requirement in my short reads. A hot, strong male. And it took half of book (barely 100 pages)for some action. And what a lukewarm action. After a scorching short read, this definitely put a damper on my mood.
"Melt" by author Deborah Bladon. My Rating: 4 Stars
I loved this sweet, engaging romantic story. The characters were well developed and that says a lot considering this is just a 100 page book.
Ryker and Lark.....
Ryker is a top marketing executive at Matiz Cosmetics. He is sexy, successful, the star of all the women's dreams and a bit arrogant too. I admit he was hard to read at first and I wasn't sure that I liked him. His first scene with Lark left me frowning; I had to wonder if he even liked her at all. But my cynicism was cleared up quickly when Ryker's POV came into play. I completely fell in love with this sexy and charismatic man. He was definitely a case of "don't judge a book by its cover."
Lark also works for Matiz. She has secretly crushed on Ryker for almost as long as she has worked at the company. Unfortunately she knows it's a bad idea to show her attraction to Ryker. He has a reputation that demands Lark keep her distance if she wants to be respected at work. It is difficult for her to keep her distance from him when they work for the same company. To make matters worse, Ryker is Lark's boss.
Despite Lark's determination to not get involved, the memory of a shared kiss under the mistletoe at last year's Christmas party makes her resolve to stay away crumble.
I very much enjoyed this short novella by Deborah. Although there were a few secrets, this was not an angsty novel. I loved watching Ryker and Lark's relationship develop into something solid. I stayed engrossed from beginning to end. I want to say again, I loved the romantic, fun and sexy side of Ryker.
This story does take place around the holidays however I didn't get the feel of a Christmas romance. Still it was perfect.
Deborah Bladon is an author I enjoy reading very much. I have read many of her books but the good thing is there are still many I haven't read yet. I'm looking forward it.
Wasn’t sure this could be everything I wanted it to be, but it was even more. Love the ending. But, once again, I want the story to continue. I want at least ten more years of the story with these two.
This a quick read. Not much for a storyline but I was in the need of something that was not going to make me cry and this book did that. I loved the snow globes in the story. I wish Ryker was a bit more Alpha and I just didn't connect with Lark at all. I think these characters could have been so much more in a longer book but it felt rushed to me.
Just not my cup of tea.. You may love it so grab a copy and see!
Outstanding! I absolutely love all of Deborah Bladon's books. And I wasn't disappointed, Melt had it all. Lark and Ryker hold secret desires but will they finally be on the same page. Can Lark trust her instincts? Can Ryker show her what love feels like? A fantastic read that was made more awesome by the supporting characters. Loved it!
So Deborah is a fave author of mine. I enjoy the world she creates and just don't ever want to leave. Yet again she did not disappoint. This was much shorter than her other stories but covered all the plots and issues that arose as Lark and Ryker's story came to be. Some faves from previous stories make appearances even though it was quick. Lark - I liked how she was written and developed as the story grew. She has some insecurities and vulnerabilities that, to me, make her seem genuine and real. She swoons in secret over her boss but gets a chance to act. Ryker - is a male that thinks the way to forget someone is get under another. It was interesting to see things from his pov as he realizes what an idiot he was for an entire year. He finally grows a set and mans up to take Lark as his own. Overall it was a nice short story. What this and her previous story Risk have me antsy for is Crew's story! Can't wait for that one.
I have always enjoyed books by Deborah Bladen. Her stories are well laid out with good character development and storylines that are interesting to read. Melt was a short, quick story where the heroine and Hero getting what they want, after waiting a year for it to happen. There was no pretense, no beating around the bush. There was very little pushback or roadblocks after their wait. Although I enjoyed it, it felt like something was missing. It was more like the ending of a larger story rather than its own.
A fairly generic romance story with some sexy chemistry thrown in, nothing particularly awe inspiring just a basic sweet love story. Ryker is Lark's immediate boss in her brother's company they shared a kiss a year ago that left both wanting more but neither caring to make the move. Finally they overcome their fears and can't ignore the chemistry and end up with their happy ever after. Nothing spectacular but an easy read.
Lark and Ryker are definitely an interesting match. Lark is definitely an angel who cares about everyone and is so sweet 🥹. I like how quickly Ryker was drawn to her. At first I didn’t like him bc he seemed so arrogant and dismissive. However I quickly realized his character was very different than I believed. This is a sweet story not my favorite but definitely a great story.
completely missed the mark for me. I didn't like either main character. I thought Ryker's reasoning and jumping into a relationship a few days after a breakup was really ridiculous. Their reasoning for the last year of not getting together didn't work at all. I could not get on board with this relationship.
Deborah once again draws us in from the very first page! I Love all of her books and this one is amazing. The journey Lark & Ryker take to finally be together is super sweet, hot & romantic.
Another fun read from this author. Ryker and Lark are quite the pair. I love meeting alpha males that get knocked down by their ladies. It is so much fun watching them fall. As always....Enjoy!!!!!
I’ve loved every book, until this one. Ryker was way too unreal, not believable. The insta love bit was too much for me. The big scary brother’s response to Ryker was unrealistic. I kept expecting Gem to blackmail or something.
This is the perfect little treat to get you in the Christmas spirit. I enjoyed reading this very much. I loved Ryker! This was sweet, romantic, and the ending was absolutely perfect. The things he did for Lark were things that would melt any woman. I can't wait to read another book by this author.
After Lark kissed her boss at the last holiday party and things remained the same it's been a whole year of anticipation for this year's holiday party. it's a quick cute read to find out what happens.
I rarely love novellas. Most lack character development and I’m either bored or left wishing the author was invested enough to flesh out the story. This is a novella at it best. I strongly recommend it.
These two characters were so well written. The love that they share for their families is amazing as the one they find in themselves. Lark is a very strong, intelligent and beautiful woman, Ryker is hot as hell. Their story will make your heart melt.
3.5 stars. I think that this story was a good one, but this was a little too much for me. There were a few editing issues as well. I feel like it was good until towards the end.
It was a heartwarming story. However, I felt like the story line needed more. I would have liked more dates and intimacy between them. It was a quick and easy read.
very good...this is a novella length so perfect to read when there isn't much time...so a quick read but really sweet, fun and super sexy....will read more books from author:-)
I am a huge fan of Deborah Bladon's books, and I can't say that I've ever been disappointed whenever a new one has been released. I enjoy the tie-in with other books, without having to read a full series to be able to stay with the story line. In fact, I think this has made me seek out older books that I somehow missed so that I can find out more about some of those other characters. Her books are very well written and always keep me anxious to turn the page.
