Fame sometimes feels like a rush...

... unless there is a public scandal that puts you even more in the crosshairs of the paparazzi and leads to a media harassment without peer.

That is the story of pop star Tyler Hart
 :

- although openly gay -, getting caught on video at the receiving end of a blowjob in a public bathroom. The only way possible for Ty, who already deals with some kind of anxiety disorder, to escape the media frenzy is to hide and lick his wounds in a remote cabin in the mountains of Vermont which belongs to the future brother-in-law of one of the former members of Ty's boy band. The only problem? It is already taken...
Dominic....amoveo gaurd to the prince. Black military haircut. Amber eyes. Tiger clan. Has a scar down the left side of his face.:

Garrett Campbell works in cooperation with a seal team as a translator for a government agency, which is a closely guarded secret and not even his family knows what he does for a living. Wounded in a hostage retrieval gone wrong, he seeks revenge for the death of his partner during said operation and is intent on finding the mole who set them up. After the death of another team member, he is also forced to go into hiding and the only qualified location for him to feel safe is his brother's cabin in Stanford Creek, where his peace and his heart is disturbed by the appearance of Ty.

And here we go again! I am not a big fan of insta-love. Although the word is a bit too strong for the situation of Ty and Garrett (at least at the beginning), it was too insta-... something for me, nonetheless. In this story both guys lusted after each other before they even met: Garrett over a poster of Ty and his boy band in his locker at college and Ty over stories he heard from his friends about their assumption of Garrett being a spy of some sorts. Furthermore, I could not really buy the fact that Ty - despite his anxiety - felt safe with Garrett within an hour, even though they exchanged just a few words. Both men just felt too young for me and their behavior too immature sometimes. There were scenes where I wanted to shake them and shout 'Oh, come on... How old are you? Fifteen?' We don't get any information about Garrett's age, but given his profession I would have thought he being a bit more reasonable and Ty is 26, so not that young, either...

This book is the 3rd installment in the Stanford Creek series from author RJ Scott under the pen name Rozenn Scott and can be read as a standalone. The first two books are M/F romance and I haven't read them. At first I had some problems to sort out the names of all the side characters, and we are talking about a damn big family with siblings, cousins, spouses, girl- and boyfriends etc.here, but after a while I just went with the flow and it was fine by me.

The story itself was okay, although nothing to write home about. As for me, I would have wished for a bit more action before it hit the 85% mark, and even then everything was wrapped up too quickly for me. Up until that moment there was a lot of talk, hot tub baths and snow scooping...

I have to admit that the solution to the mystery of the mole took me by surprise, but not even that could make me give this story a higher rating than ***3 stars***.

*** They will be together at a cabin in the woods. ***
Top secret operative, Garrett, worked with SEALS

on a tragic mission, and is now recuperating and laying low ant his brother's cabin.
Tired Tyler, was betrayed by his ex and will be taking a break

from the frenetic band life. Neither man knew they'd have company at the cabin, but are willing to try it. Tyler doesn't know Garrett has had a crush on him from afar, for a long time. The men find a rhythm and schedule that works for sharing chores, cooking, and the like. Garrett can't talk about his top secret life, but the guys manage to have plenty of safe topics to discuss, including Garrett's fantasy. The men begin a fling and become attached.

For each men the sex and feelings have never been this intense. When trouble is on the way to Garrett, he gets Ty to safety, while he and his brother face the enemy. Luckily someone intervenes.

This R.J. Scott series is wonderful, but each can stand alone.
The ending and epilogue will make you smile. ENJOY !!

SNOW & SECRETS (Stanford Creek, #3) by R.J. Scott is a fast to read, short, classic style contemporary romance, but with a hero and a hero. I love these two characters coming together for their HEA! This is the third book in this series, but it can be easily read as a standalone.

Tyler ‘Ty’ Hart, boy band star is all over the internet, but not for a good reason. Threatened with blackmail, chased by the paparazzi and having anxiety attacks he takes off for an isolated cabin in the snow in Stanford Creek, VT. Two of his former bandmates have settled and found happiness there, so he is hoping it will work for him.

Garrett Campbell is back in his hometown for Christmas to regroup and heal after an assignment goes FUBAR. The death of his friend, his own near death and the unknown source of the danger have him wanting to stay alone in his brother’s cabin, but be close for his sister’s delivery. His unexpected arrival means he has to share the cabin with Ty, who just happens to be a secret fantasy.

Isolated cabin, snow, hot tub and fantasies become reality. The romance is quick and yet it doesn’t feel rushed. Both men realize that they not only have each other, but a cast of secondary characters that all love and care about both of them very much. A little suspense is thrown in to the mix and you have a really entertaining read.

I recommend this book and author to any lovers of M/M romance. Ms. Scott also writes M/F romance, as in Books 1 and 2 of this series. The sex is very sweet and hot in this book. There are explicit scenes of M/M sex, but it is never gratuitous. Excellent romance read!

Snow & Secrets is the third book in the Stanford Creek series, and is the first M/M pairing. This is a book of fantasy meeting reality, mystery and suspense.

Garrett is injured in the line of duty, but of course, he can't tell anyone about it. He is put on leave to recover. He can return, but it will be to a desk job, so he has some serious thinking to do. He returns to his brother's cabin in search of peace and solitude. Tyler is also given a 'leave of absence' from the band, due to the video that has been posted and gone viral, showing him in a bathroom! He goes to Stanford Creek, also for some alone time before he meets up with Danny and Cody. Garrett can't believe that he is actually meeting Tyler as he has been his fantasy for some time. I won't say anymore, apart from stealing a line from the book - "Fantasy is good, reality is better."

Both Garrett and Tyler are injured inside, they need time to recuperate and recover. They aren't expecting each other, but find that they are actually feeling better with the other one with them. Yes, things move quickly, but it is right for this story. There is a balance between them, their friends and family, and the mysteries that Garrett is trying to solve.

I was surprised at the answer to one of the mysteries and unsurprised at the other. I'll leave it with you to figure out which was which. On a personal note, I would have liked a bit more on the "why" on one of them, but that is just me.

Exceedingly well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow. This is a book to read whilst curling up in front of a fire, with a hot chocolate! Definitely recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Wow and not in a good way. I'm frowning as I type this review because I'm not sure where I went wrong. Sigh.
So many people seem to love this book and it left me confused as to why. I am clearly the cheese that stands alone. The pieces were there but somehow it never added up to a whole story for me. I struggled to connect with the main characters who just seemed poorly developed and all over the place. I surely never felt any connection between them and it was so bizarre that Ty walked in on Garrett telling someone he was simply a convenient lay and it didn't phase him one bit. He blithely volunteers that he has 'boyfriended' Garrett anyway. Really? In what world? No annoyance, no frustration, just biz as usual. Yeah right.

I admit, I didn't read the first two in the series (M/F) and that could explain why I was bloody lost. This doesn't stand alone well in terms of character development and many of the situations in which the characters found themselves were magically resolved with little exposition. Garrett's situation wasn't shadowy, the secrecy was just sleight of hand as the author ran out of plausible explanations for what was supposedly going on. At the end of the book, I was no closer to truly figuring out who exploited Ty and despite them being caught, this doesn't remove the pictures already in the public domain. So how come all was magically well? What's going to happen to the band or is all just happy!happy!joy!joy?

This one didn't meet muster for me as a romance, nor as a mystery. Unless you are a R.J Scott super fan, save yourself the annoyance and find something else to read. Giving this a measly 2 stars.

Snow and Secrets is book three in Rozenn Scott’s Sanford Creek series. Now, I have not read book 1 and 2 and I honestly have no idea if I’m right but I think some secondary characters in 3 are in the other books. I also think the other 2 are M/F books. Just a guess. I will say book three can be read as a standalone absolutely. I am curious about some of the characters in the other books and their stories. When the book opened and we were dealing with a mishap with Ty I found myself wondering if I missed something and that sort of lingered for a bit. So I may go back and read the other books.

Ty is in a band and he has a twin and they have a really awesome relationship. Ty is a fidget-er and he has some anxiety and when he needs a break he goes to a friend’s cabin. Simple enough right?

Well, Garrett is also using the cabin (since it’s his brothers) as a place to heal and hide. Garrett’s life as a translator for SEALS teams has brought him to a dark place and when he comes face to face with Ty (his dream guy) it’s the best cure for him… for both of them.

I found both of these characters to be so sweet to each other and stuck in their situations. Each a victim. Together they just made sense and it was cute. Their time in the cabin is super-hot and sexy and their glimpses of domesticity gave me the warm and fuzzies!

There’s a little suspense to this story and a lot of love and acceptance and above all there’s a great support for both of these guys.

I liked this book and was entertained throughout! I have a few questions that, like I said earlier, I feel the other books might have the answers to so I'll be checking those out.

This is the third book in Stanford Creek series. While each couple’s relationship is covered within the book - there’s events & people from the previous book that make these best read in order.

Note:If you only read MM, Scott has provided a little rundown of the previous MF books and this could be read as a stand alone.

Garrett has been the mysterious brother in the previous books and now we find out why. However, he has reasons that he’s keeping it all from his family but it definitely strains their relationships and causes him a lot of stress.

Ty is hiding out from a media scandal and ends up sharing a cabin with Garrett and the sparks fly. But really, I like that even though this is a somewhat short book, it feels like these two really get to know each other…as much as Garrett’s secrets will allow.

I liked the forced proximity and the suspense/action that occurs when Garrett’s work finds him in Stanford Creek. The epilogue was nice and gave this a solid HEA.

I enjoyed the update on Cody & Megan but wish there had been a little more catching up on Danny & Rachel. I hope Scott plans to continue the series as I’d love to read more about Justin & Kyle.

Can I tell you how much of a fan I was of both Garrett and Tyler? I loved them both, loved them together, and I'm really hoping they're going to pop up again in another story somewhere because I need more of them.

Poor Tyler...after a bad ending to what he thought was a good relationship-followed by a bit of scandal thanks to a not-so-smart move on his part-he's heading away for a while to hide out and wait for things to settle down. I felt bad for him (even though he should have known better), it's one of those situations where you want to take him to task, yet still swallow him up in a hug. And poor Garrett...his situation is not of his own doing, but it's messed him up physically and emotionally. He's heading away for a while too, needing down time to rethink what he's doing while trying to figure out what the heck happened.

Neither of them is expecting the other, but they wind up at first tolerating each other, then quickly becoming comfortable...and closer. Even though the timeframe of the story is not very long, nothing between them ever feels rushed, and while they each think this is just convenience while they are sharing a place to hide away, the feeling that develop between them say otherwise. Their chemistry is hot and natural, and it really shows once things start to get intimate between them.

The story gets a quick injection of drama-enough to get your heart beating a bit faster-when the situation surrounding Garrett's reason for hiding away comes to a head, but it was resolved rather quickly. The majority of the story up to that point and afterward centered on Tyler and Garrett's burgeoning relationship, and it had me fully invested in their connection. The only thing making me pout right now is that their ending felt more like a "happily for now" rather than a "happily ever after", as things were left too open at the end for my liking. I'm hoping we'll see more of them in another story to get a more solid resolution (I really need my permanent HEA!).

Snow & Secrets was a 4.5-star read for me, just missing that last half-star for the HFN over an HEA. It's a really great read, and I definitely recommend it to any M/M romance fan 18+ (for adult language and M/M sexual content). Oh, and now I really want to install a hot tub...and wouldn't mind if Tyler and Garrett were included in it...

I was given a copy of this story to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This really hasn’t been my favourite RJ Scott series from the start. I had hopes for the first m/m story in the series but I struggled to connect to both men - or their story.

There has been an edge of suspense to this series all along, but the dangers of Garrett’s mysterious covert life seriously amplifies the tension in the third book. There were times that I enjoyed the contrast of Garrett’s secret life against his family’s happy small town domesticity but the secrecy meant that even as a reader I never felt I really knew or connected with Garrett.

And Tyler. Secret agent meets boy band dancer? Tyler is sweet. He is broken and embarrassed but he feels very, very young. And Garrett’s experiences make him feel much, much older. I understood the attraction between these two but the road from attraction to convenient hook-up to HEA was way too quick. This story was missing the romance and the passion I expect in an RJ Scott story.

Beyond Tyler and Garrett are glimpses of the Campbells in their happy, settled domesticity. I enjoyed Justin more in this story and I really liked the tentative, reparative relationship between the brothers. This isn’t a personal favourite story and I haven’t loved this series from the start. I’m pretty sure that most of my reservations are personal and I’m interested to see how other RJ Scott fans respond to this story.

Did i read a different book from everyone else? This book is made no sense for me (maybe i should have read the previous ones but still) the leads had zero chemistry and the so-called 'suspense' was pretty tame... skip it if you can.

I haven't read the earlier (mf) books in this series, but that didn't matter. There's a minor mystery/bit of action mixed with the romance which brings feelings into focus. Both MCs are easy to relate to and pretty straight forward. Classic RJS writing but still can't compete with the Texas series ;)

Snow & Secrets is a perfect title. Garrett Campbell is the out-gay brother of Megan from Stanford Creek book 1, Notes and Roses. That he has a secret was pretty much hinted at in the first two books. I’m not sure how much I would have put things together, though, if I hadn’t read the books one right after the other.

Tyler Hart is a member of Hudson Hart and he also happens to be gay and out. That’s never been a problem until he was filmed in a public bathroom in a very compromising situation. Tyler needs to get away from L.A. and the scandal until things die down so he heads for Stanford Creek.

When Garrett and Tyler both end up in a cabin owned by Garrett’s brother sparks eventually begin to fly between the two and after a few days they decide to fool around as long as they’re sharing the cabin. This book is the hottest of the three – Garrett and Tyler together? WOW

Snow & Secrets also has the most suspense and intrigue of the three. Unfortunately, it would spoil things if I revealed too much about that intrigue. I can say that both Garrett and Tyler have things going on that make this a very interesting story. Garrett isn’t the mild-mannered pharmaceutical rep that he’s always told his family.

If you love RJ Scott’s books you won’t want to miss this one.

This was adorable. I love how bumbling Ty and Garrett were when it came to talking about their feelings and getting together at first. It was like high school when you would pass the note and get the answer. Too sweet.

Ty was precious. He was feeling hunted and with good reason. He was also gun shy of men and himself. He was not sure if he could trust his feelings or himself. Worst was this incredibly sweet guy was afraid of all the pain he was causing others. He thought so much about protecting everyone around him I think he sometimes forgot about himself. His feelings for Garrett were strong and overwhelming to him. they definitely could be felt through the pages of the story.

Garrett had his own pain. He was dealing with real pain in his back and the pain of betrayal and loss. He didn’t know who betrayed his team and lost a friend in the process. A friend he made a promise to and when he fulfilled it it was too cute with all his bumbling. Garrett though had so many secrets and confusion. He had feelings for Ty but couldn’t process them. He was figuring out where he would go next since his injury would keep him from doing what he wanted and he didn’t want a desk job. He felt loss of his friend and sad because of the betrayal to his team. His attraction to Ty began as fantasies long ago but now were becoming stronger and he didn’t know how to deal with it.

When they finally did give in to their attraction we got some seriously sensual moments. I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the book. They helped each other just by being there for each other. They didn’t need to talk just be there. They went on walks, shoveled snow, read and took hot tub moments together. But they didn’t feel the need to fill the space with noise. It was the comfort they got from one another that grounded them. Watching Garrett help Ty feel safe and less worried about the press finding him was great. Watching Ty ground Garrett and have him feel safe and cared for. He helped garrett feel peace and happiness. I loved how open and honest Ty was with Garrett especially in the hospital parking lot.

The danger that they were in did bring about some tension only because of the secrets behind it all. Here though is when we see Garrett’s true feelings and afterwards we see them work out things that seemed impossible due to distance. these two loved each other and nothing could take that away. They made each other feel safe, grounded and at peace.

A sweet, adorable story of two young men finding their way through issues with the help, respect and support of the other. They find love along the way and the reader is gifted with a entertaining and wonderful story of love and acceptance and finding your way.

Let me start by saying I was REALLY looking forward to getting my hands on this book. I've read the first two books (although it isn't required because this will mostly stand on its own) and I was super curious to find out all of Garrett's secrets :)

Returning readers know that he's hiding something but we aren't really sure what and I think that Scott handles it well. He's not James Bond but he's hiding things for a reason. Unfortunately his last outing ended badly so he's home to recover and recenter. What he doesn't expect, but something he's going to take full advantage of, is sharing his brother's cabin with his crush.

Tyler is also in Stanford Creek to get his feet back under him after a very public, and very embarrassing, scandal. He thought he'd be spending most of it alone, with a few visits with his old bandmates, but he finds himself in close company with a very rugged and handsome guy. Getting involved might not be smart for either of them but they have a connection that can't be ignored.

I will say that there are two things that I feel weren't delivered as well as they could have been. The first is the life-threatening situation that is suggested in the blurb. There is some danger related to Garrett's job but it doesn't take up very many pages, so don't expect a lot of it. Instead we focus on Garrett and Tyler getting to know one another, opening up about themselves, and exploring their growing friendship and the attraction between them. Which I really appreciated - that slow build to something special.

The other is related to Tyler. He seems to have some anxiety issues which is what sends him running, and while he & his brother understand how to address it, it's not as developed as it could have been. What it does give us is a look at the bond between the twins, a closeness that is so touching and continues even across the miles.

I'm definitely curious where Scott takes us next. She's fantastic at creating well-matched couples with emotional journeys so she's bound to keep putting out delightful reads.

Snow & Secrets is an endearing and sentimental-type read between two likeable characters. Garrett is seeking time and space to come to terms with his near-death experience when he and his colleagues were sold out in a hostage retrieval situation overseas. He ends up being seriously injured, but unlike his colleague/friend who was killed, he survives and feels a lot of guilt. Ty is an “out and proud” rock star who has been caught on video in a compromising position in a nightclub bathroom.

Both Garrett and Ty end up escaping from their respective problems by seeking solitude in a mountain cabin owned by Justin, who is Garrett’s older brother, as well as the older brother of one of Ty’s former band member’s wife. Garrett has harbored a crush on Ty since high school, and Ty finds himself inexplicably drawn to Garrett, even though he hasn’t shared any details about his real job/career with anyone, including his family.

The story steadily builds on the two’s evolving relationship, eventually seguing into danger when details surrounding the events leading to Garrett’s injury and his friend’s death reach a climax. At no point does the story resort to having Garrett and Ty spat over silly issues for the sake of plot strife. Instead, even though Garrett maintains his secrecy, the two approach their relationship maturely – so refreshing! The unexpected twist resolving the mystery behind Garrett’s near-death experience is a brutal shock, but it catapults Garrett and Ty to boldly invest in their HEA.

Snow & Secrets is a well-written, hopeful, romantic and light-hearted read.

“Snow & Secrets” by Rozenn (RJ) Scott follows Garrett Campbell as his mysterious profession finally causes a crisis he can’t explain away. His retreat to his brother Justin’s cabin coincides with the arrival of his celebrity crush, Tyler Hart, who is in search of a quiet sanctuary. Their mutual attraction is combustible but neither dares to offer the other more than a temporary liaison. Perfect? Only until they realize they want more.

This adult contemporary m/m romantic suspense story is my favorite of the series thus far. It was great to finally get a closer look at the mysterious Garrett and to discover exactly what he did. I daresay the band Hudson Hart is being decimated by all of the problems and retreat by its former members but maybe the entire crew will reunite in Vermont, given how things have been going thus far. I do confess to being a little skeptical of how much physical activity a man with Garrett’s injuries could actually tolerate and I wasn’t quite clear exactly what happened during the climactic finale, but I definitely enjoyed the overall story and will certainly be looking for other stories by this talented author, with fingers crossed that more of the secondary characters in this series will get a chance to have the spotlight. I feel that this can be read as a stand alone with no problem, but it does enhance one’s enjoyment to be familiar with the backstory for these characters.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the third book in the series, and is a really good read. It definitely refers to previous events, which means you would get even more out of it as part of the series - but it is about a new couple, and would read well as a stand alone too.

One thing I really liked about this story is that both men have a back story which impacts on their present. It gives them a level playing field, even if Garrett does not think so. I thought that the mystery element was dealt with well, and the impact on the men and their future made sense. I enjoyed the simple times that gave them a chance at getting to know each other before giving in to their obvious chemistry!

I highly recommend this as a fun, sexy and intriguing read. Thank you Ms Scott.

I love me some RJ. I have literally read all of her stuff before and I am loving this new pen name. I really liked this one. If I had to describe it, it would be like a drinking a fine bourdeux, it hits you slow ;) Garrett is translator for the government and an openly gay man that protects his family by telling them he is a pharmaceuticals rep while Ty is a singer in a band who gets in some major drama when he is found in a bathroom getting head (and enjoying it apparently). Garrett has to take a leave of absence after some gnarly stuff happening around him, and so Ty and Garrett find themselves alone in a house where they both discover they don't have to be alone. Loveddd it. Thanks RJ!

Nice little spy/secret identity style mystery romance

This is the third in a series set in the same Vermont town but not having read the first two didn't matter as not only was this a self contained story, but RJ added enough explanation as to how the earlier two books connected to make things easy to follow.

The two MCs were nicely developed and while things happened in a relatively short time, it didn't feel like it was insta love.

There was an element of mystery to this which was never fully explained but even that didn't actually pull much from the lovely romance at the heart of the narrative.

Garrett and Ty were a sweet couple and their romance felt like a realistic development.

What was supposed to be a quite winter getaway and a place of peace and protection turns into more than either man would have dreamed of. Together Tyler and Garrett find a safe-haven from the world, but the haven doesn’t last. But before all hell breaks loose the two find more than they could have imagined for the holidays.

This was a standalone in a series but it was richer with the surrounding characters and their stories to lead you into what was a hot, steaming filled snowy holiday season with secrets and heat. This Christmas may never be forgotten. This was a sexy, hot MMR Holiday read.

I really like this series! Maybe I should move to Stanford Creek. Rock stars and ex-"spies"...sure sounds interesting. These two guys were really cute together and I liked the family atmosphere of all of the extended characters. It's fun when you can connect with the characters and story and feel like you are right there, involved in their lives.

Snow and Secrets is the third book in the ‘Stanford Creek’ series. It stars Tyler Hart, a pop star, and Garrett Campbell, who has a secret past which is part of the story. This is told in third person from both Ty’s and Garrett’s pov.

Snow and Secrets – ( Book 3 ) Stanford Creek Series M/M

This is the third book and presently the last of the Stanford Creek Series. It could be read as a Standalone however to get a complete grasp of all the wonderful characters that Rj Scott has created, I would highly recommend reading the complete Series.

This book is about Ty (Tyler) and Garrett both are linked to the main characters in previous books. Ty and Garrett and gay men pushed together through circumstance.

Whilst this is a HEA story it is filled with intrigue, love, passion, friendship, family and drama. It was my first M/M book that I had ventured to read, probably through ignorance of not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised!
I found Rj Scott’s skill of writing this type of book a credit to her. She can skilfully set a scene for you whilst allowing your imagination to do the rest. Never at any point whilst reading this book, did I feel that sex scenes were overly descriptive, everything was just right – at the right temp for Stanford Creek.
