I've been a fan of this author ever since her first book, and the Essiens are my favourite series of hers. In this installment, we meet Freddie... le sigh...
You can't help but fall in love with him.
His protectiveness towards Kike leaps off the page.
Kike is a complex heroine. Stuck in a loveless marriage, she needs help to leave her husband and that's where Freddie comes in. I was curious to see how the author would handle this, and believe me she deals with some hefty issues in this story.
There is the pastor husband, supposedly a man of God, yet, he couldn't be more ungodly.
The wife trapped in an abusive relationship.
Then there is the whole underlying BDSM issue.
The difference between a healthy D/s relationship and one built on abuse.
No spoilers from me, suffice to say I read this in one sitting and my heart broke several times in the process of reading it.
I cannot wait for the conclusion of this story, and I'm rooting for Freddie and Kike to get their HEA.

An emotional read, like I've come to expect from this author and utterly gripping.

Kiru Taye is an outstanding author! I thoroughly enjoyed FREDDIE ENTANGLED, and loved that while it was the sixth book in a series, that it didn't leave me confused, or asking too many questions. This was a hot novel, that will leave readers wanting so much more than what Kiru Taye has to give, and in such a great way!

When we first up with the Ogun family, it is a rather peculiar situation. Kike Ogun, a well know actress in Nollywood, receives a phone call that her son cannot be found. Things seem to escalate quickly, as Kike leaves the set she's working on to race to the school, only to find that someone had been supposedly told to pick up her son by her husband, Lekan Ogun. The novel focuses on how Lekan, a pastor for a well known church, has a dark side that only Kike knows of. When the Ogun's discuss the potential of getting a body guard, never once did they think that their lives could be thrown upside down, and inside out for all characters involved.

Throughout FREDDIE ENTANGLED there are so many twists, and turns, and all sorts of OMG moments that left me flipping pages quicker than I ever expected to. As stated, this was my first Kiru Taye novel, and I completely enjoyed it. The characters, the story line, everything about it was outstanding, and really lined up to create a great story. I am looking forward to the second part of Freddie's book, and cannot wait to dive into the other novels in this series.

Freddie Entangled is heartbreaking, passionate, and refreshing in its beautiful delivery of a wonderfully unique and deeply touching story of learning how to rise from the ashes of life. This story took me completely by surprise, and I loved every wondrous second of it! Nothing feels quite as good as a well-written and brilliantly executed storyline that tilts your world on its axis and never lets you recover from it. This story gave me that and so much more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters were utterly fascinating, and I enjoyed getting to know each one of them. They challenged me every step of this journey, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. The plot was wonderfully enjoyable and pushed my limits in some areas, but when surrounded by the circumstances of this story, I can easily go with the flow. Above all else, I loved being able to cheer and root for Kike and Freddie. They are such incredibly complex yet stunningly simple characters who just long to savor and cherish the most important things in life. They both crave things just out of reach, and yet they are both fiercely determined to have the chance to embrace them.

Kiru Taye has stolen my heart with this incredible story! She has taken me on a wild, emotional rollercoaster that made me more addicted to it the longer I rode it. I am in awe of her heart and this fabulous story! I want so much more now, and I am so looking forward to the second half of this amazing journey of love and hope wrapped up in an unconventional yet thrilling plot that has engaged and awakened every part of me.

This is the 6th book in the much loved contemporary romance series about the Essien family based in Lagos, Nigeria. In the first of the duet, Freddie is working his way up to partnership in Banks Security when he gets tangled up with Pastor Lekan and his actress wife, Kike on an assignment. The glamorous couple are not all they seem and soon things begin to unravel. Will Freddie be able to keep Kike safe and keep his sanity with all the mind games going on? This book steams up the eReader!

description

Freddie Untangled was a great 5 star read.

Kike is a famous actress and married to Lekan who is a Pastor with a very dark side.
Freddie works in security and after a near kidnapping, his company is hired by Kike and her husband. He is Kike’s bodyguard and takes the job very seriously.

There is something about Freddie that gets to Kike. He makes her feel things she hasn’t felt in a long time. Freddie is also finding himself attracted to Kike, there is something about this woman that intrigues him.

Sometimes, I feel as if I’m going to be murdered in my sleep

When Kike thinks she’s pulling one over on Freddie, she is the one surprised. I loved that scene.

As we move forward some more surprises and twists are revealed. We learn a few more things about Kike and Freddie. There is a level of D/s relationship and a little bit of masochist/sadist as well. I was all over the place with this book. Would she leave, wouldn’t she leave? Things take a big turn at the end leaving a big cliffhanger. This was my first read from Kiru Taye and I really enjoyed it, I am looking forward to reading more in this series. I need to know what happens.

Different for me.

I love Kiru's writing. Although it goes into subject matters that are different for me. It's a really good story. I was so happy to see Freddie's story, I purchased it without reading the burp. I may not have bought it due to the fact it has installments. I NEVER buy books with installments. I feel that's a way for the author to keep us on the hook and charge two and three times for one novel. HOWEVER, this is one book I understand, a little, having installments. It's dealing with very dark subjects. It would have been a lot in one shot. Also, I never buy a book that has cheating. Having said all of that, I will buy the next installment if it's the last one. I want to find out how Freddie protect and help Kike escape a terrible situation. I can't imagine this is real life for someone. I totally recommend you read this one!

I am not a fan of erotica. I hate books where kinky sex scenes overshadows a story to a point of distraction. However, Kiru Taye has a way of giving that perfect blend of a deep storyline with steamy sex scenes. Here we meet kike an actress who is married to a pastor ( He is one of those flashy pastors who preaches something and lives the opposite of what he preaches) She is stuck in an abusive relationship and is afraid for her life. She hires a hot bodyguard and the story takes off from there. It is a story which depicts the deception some so called men of God unfortunately throw at their church members, blinding their eyes and the hero worship of these church members for their leaders. I enjoyed reading Kike's flashback story. It was an okay read for me and I would have really liked to see how it ended... oh, well, I'll have to wait for part 2...
