I have been writing stories as long as I can remember. I am an author with Blushing Books. I enjoy writing both contemporary erotica as well as historical books set in ages past. I love developing characters that are able to tell their own stories. My heroines are multi-faceted women who are strong, intelligent and capable in their own right but find a deep need to share their lives with those strong, sexy and dominant alpha males that capture their hearts. My heros recognize the gift of submission for the gift it is, loving and protecting the women that offer that gift. I enjoy sweet, romantic stories with just a taste of domestic discipline as well as one that explore the harsher D/S lifestyle. I also enjoy writing age-play stories set both in Victorian era where women didn't have a great deal of power in their lives as well as in today's present time where women still find their happiness is greatly enhanced in offering the gift of submission. My hope is that you settle back in your favorite chair and allow my books to entertain you and let you escape into another world.

STRYDER picks up right where Maddox left off with Stryder and Anson off to a slave auction to purchase Zoya. With her help, they hope to not only identify the other girls and their buyers, but to ultimately take down the man responsible for the annihilation of Adira's family... Vasily Poplov. With the help of Adira's grandfather, the Steele's were able to rescue many women and find them some justice. In the midst of it all, Stryder and Zoya fall in love and plan for a future together.

Once again, the characters and the plot were well-developed and intriguing. Although there was an underlying theme of D/s, it was subtly worked in and didn't take my focus away from the plot. It simply added texture to the relationship between Stryder and Zoya. I especially liked the way the authors created a lead-in for Anson's book and his quest to rescue Natalia.

Release Date: February 17, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance (with D/s and suspense elements)
POV: Dual - 3rd person
Steam: 3.5 out of 5

If you haven’t read the first book then don’t read the review there are some references to it.
Stryder picks off exactly where Maddox stopped. This is a great addition and continuation in the Black Stallion Trilogy. There is suspense in the book with complex and flawed characters. Dark and seductive.

Stryder has picked his save in the hope to fight against Poplov who killed nearly all of Adira’s family. Anson and Stryder go off to Russia to find out more about the sex slave ring infiltrate it and annihilate everyone that is involved.

Zoya is naïve she leaves her family in a small village in Russia to move to Moscow to take a job there. She trusts the first person she meets and ends up in a sex slave ring.

Due to Stryder’s past it is hard for him to stand abuse against women. His past is tragic. He wants to save every woman that is at that auction but they can’t. But they will do their best to get them all back.

Stryder is hard and cold as well as calculating. I liked him at the beginning but there were times his treatment of the heroine was unjustified. For me there was one scene where if written wrong might be seen as non-consensual in a way. Especially if this is one of your pet peeves.

But Zoya also treated Stryder unfairly and with a difficult topic she didn’t let him talk about something really important she behaved like a petulant child and wasn’t my favourite heroine that I’ve read so far this year. I didn’t always see the connection between the MC.

Tackling the topic of a sex slave is difficult and it is done well. In my opinion anyway. I found certain scenes put me out of my comfort zone but they belong in the book otherwise it would be too glossy. I enjoy the BDSM elements.

If you like all of the above and want to read something different then this is the read for you. Anson ins next and I look forward to his book.

Men on a mission

Rescuing women who are sold to be slaves to evil powerful and disgusting men.

Stryder his brothers and father along with others make it their mission to rescue women and get the heads of the sex slave operations and auctions and do what they can to bring the organisations down.

About the plot:
Zoya was rescued in Russia she was purchased by Stryder who posed alongside his brother as interested parties in the women slave trade, Zoya was purchased and once Zoya was safe in Texas at the ranch which is the base, a safe house, she provided the men with information on what she has seen and heard from her time in captivity and helped them to gain more information on the sex slave organisation.

An interesting plot, told in third person. While Zoya was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time before her captivity Stryder is a person with a sad backstory that drives him to put himself in dangerous situations for the women they save.

A story where both the rescuer and rescuee fall for each other.

I enjoyed Stryder there were parts of the plot that I felt didn’t fit the plot for example the women have been abused, kidnapped seen rape, been raped or sexual abused but there's a play room at the ranch with well everything Mr Grey would use. I didn’t think it fitted this story ok Stryder liked kink but it just didn't feel right with the plot at all. Why couldn't he of just been a dominant alpha who loves to protect and has a bossy side that's more fitting. This is just my opinion but it baffled me that he would be that sort of character or that a safe house would have that on the premises given the history of the women and what they had been through. It just felt like the author just wanted to put some kink into the story but it didn’t fit the plot.

Great upto 80% disappointed in some things.

The brother's are back!!

Help all in need...

This book takes us to Moscow to an underground auction... Stryder knows which one will become the next 'save'. He has seen those eyes before in his life. Eye's that tell a story he is unable to forget. Stryder has been through a lot in his life and his story is one that you wouldn't wish on anyone.

Zoya Morozova has moved to start her life. Arriving in town with nothing, she meets and friends a super nice lady who takes Zoya under her wings. But her wings are very misleading...

Can Stryder keep his promises to Zoya? Proving that his family is willing to do anything and everything to rescue each girl who was at the auction... Can Zoya learn to trust that the Steele family is truly there to help her?

When I grow up, I want to be just like Jennie! Love her in these books and would love to see her have her own book.

Looking for a suspenseful book that is full of swoon worthy men? Well look no further!!! Alta and Maggie have once again delivered in with Stryder, the second book in "The Black Stallion" Series. This duo does great work and will have you on the edge of your seat.

This book picks up right where the last one ended. They are on a mission to get the bad guy in Moscow and this is where Stryder comes across Zoya. He buys here from the sex slave auction, but what she doesn't know is that he isn't the bad guy. That he and his family are out to stop the bad guys and to protect the innocent.

I highly recommend this book and series. It is sexy, suspenseful, dark, it address some series issues and lets not forget the smoking hot scenes!!! I can't wait for Anson's story next!!! Great job Alta and Maggie!

Stryder is the second book in ‘the Black Stallion Trilogy’ by author duo Maggie Ryan and Alta Hensley and picks up where the previous book – Maddox – left off. Maddox and his Adira are happily in love, but the villain from their book is still a free man. The Steele family is after him, and this places Zoya on their radar. This book tells the story of Zoya and Stryder.
“Zoya remembered Natalia’s question. Scared? No, she was beyond scared… beyond terrified, even. Zoya didn’t believe there was a word to describe the feeling that had consumed her from the moment she’d arrived.”

Zoya is a sweet woman from the Russian country side who unfortunately made the mistake to trust the wrong person. This one error has landed her in a hellish place; she’s prepped for an underground slave-auction, to be sold into sexual slavery to the highest bidder. Luckily, she’s ‘bought’ by Stryder, who isn’t at all like she thought her master would be. Although the whole situation has left a mark on Zoya, she’s determined to help the Steele men rescue the other women she met during her captivity. Slowly she starts to think of Stryder as much more than just her rescuer.
“He pulled her up and turned her around, her back to his chest as he moved her beneath the water. Warmth surrounded her, the hot water steaming over her front, his body heat against her back. “Shh, I’ve got you, honey.”

Stryder grew up dirt poor with just his mother. After her death, he was found and adopted by Drake Steele, which saved his life in so many ways. Stryder has a strong moral code for justice; rescuing people in danger is something he just has to do. When he sees the picture of a scared young woman who’s taken by human traffickers, she calls to him on a subconscious level. He has no time for a woman in his life, but Stryder can stay away from Zoya, the woman he rescued.
“I’m scared, Stryder. And I could really use a hug.” He thought his heart had shattered before when she showed her vulnerability. But nothing compared to what he felt now. Hell yes, he would hold her. Not only would he hold her, he would never let her go. Silently, he got up and moved to the bed. “Yes, I’ll hold you for as long as you want.”

Stryder and Zoya meet under horrible circumstances, at an illegal sex-slave auction in Russia. Zoya is a slave, Stryder pretends to be a buyer to get closer to an evil man. Away from the hellhole Zoya is happy she got away from a horrible faith, but she can’t stop thinking about the women left behind. Stryder and his brothers and father are working side by side to eliminate the villain, but also to find the other women from the auction. It’s a bit of a bad timing for Zoya and Stryder, but they can’t stay away from each other. Like his brothers, Stryder is into BDSM, and he gladly introduces a willing Zoya to the pleasures of his preferences.

Like the previous book – MaddoxStryder is much more than just the story of a couple falling in love. Yes, Zoya and Stryder fall hard and fast for each other and have some hot encounters, but it’s also the story of the fight from the Steele family against a dark underworld. One minor detail; I was expecting a story containing more BDSM than Stryder did, but I can life with it. I was surprised with the ending of a certain plotline, but I’m happy with the decision by the authors. The next book in the trilogy will be busy enough, I can’t wait to read the story of Anson and Natalia.
“Zoya, I knew you belonged to me and I promised myself that once I had you in my arms, I’d do whatever it took to keep from seeing that hopelessness ever again. I love you. God, I love you so much it hurts.” “I love you, too.”

I’ve enjoyed reading Stryder, I give it 4 stars.

Stryder is the second book in the Black Stallion Trilogy but can be read as a standalone book as well. While the Steele's are on the same mission this story takes us to Russia. Stryder and his brother, Anson, find themselves trying to save women from sex trafficking. Stryder is a man haunted by his past. He is a strong alpha male who practices BDSM and believes in domestic discipline. He works with his father and brothers, Maddox and Anson. Zoya is a young and naïve Russian woman. While kidnapped she makes many friends, but unfortunately they are being sold, to mostly evil men, at a human auction. While the Steele's can't save all the girls, that does not mean they won't do their best to succeed in taking down their target of evil.

This story is well written and I could not put it down until I finished the book. The main characters are strong yet vulnerable. While they are angry with some people they are equally patient with others. The secondary characters and those from the first book add depth to the story. the vocabulary is vivid and expressive, which helps the reader feel the scenery and emotions. There is a large range of emotions (anger, fear, sadness, shame, happiness, trust ,humor, and laughs, tears - happy and sad, fear, and relief.) The story ranges with two ends of a spectrum. Love, lust, and spankings, along with kidnapping, crime, action, and sex-trafficking, intertwined with family and friendships ( formed in fear and in love) with nightmares and dreams of the future. Overall this series is about good versus evil. Will the Steele's finish their mission? I highly recommend not only reading this book but book one, Maddox, as well. I can't wait to read Anson's story to finish this trilogy! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Stryder, youngest of the Steele Brothers, is all business and all male. Anson and Stryder are undercover in Russia trying to get information on Poplov and his sex trafficking ring. They obtain invites to the auction and are determined to save at least one girl who will be able to give them inside information on the operation. The Steele family is determined to take Poplov out after all the devastation he has caused their family and many others. Stryder knew before they ever arrived in Russia which girl he was to save, the one who captured him from the Intel they had already received. What happens when Poplov expects all his buyers to perform with their slaves before they leave the auction? Will Stryder’s rage explode or will he be able to do what it takes to make sure they all get out alive?

Zoya has just moved to Moscow away from her family to start her own life. She never imagines that a chance encounter with a nice woman when she steps off the bus will cause her to be a prisoner in a sex trafficking operation. Zoya does as she told for fear they will hurt her family. She never imagines the night of the auction she will be saved instead of becoming a sex slave to one of these cruel, horrible men. Will Zoya be able to trust Stryder and his family or will she run every chance she gets?

Stryder is Book 2 in The Black Stallion Trilogy, but can be read as a standalone. If you love an alpha male, mystery, twists and turns, and HEA, this is the book for you. I loved watching Stryder and Zoya’s relationship develop. Who knew that love could be found in the most unlikely of circumstances?

Such a good second book to this family saga!! 4.5 Stars!! This book picks up where Maddox left off and the hinted next mission would be. Stryder and Zoya are a new fun couple full of sass, humor, love, and BDSM antics. Stryder is an alpha-male with a tragic backstory and loads of heart. Zoya is the naive girl that gets caught up in a sex slave ring becoming Styder's mission and possibly more. I enjoyed watching their story unfold and look forward to the conculsion of this family saga with Anson's story.

This is the second book in the series and you really should read the first one first. There is a background story that runs through the two books that keeps you completely hooked and wondering which way the story will go.

Stryder picks up where Maddox finished and follows Stryder's mission to save the girl he saw on film and fight Poplov the man that killed Adira's family. Along with Anson they infiltrate a sex slave ring, they buy Zoya and hope that she can help them with information on the sex ring so they can take everyone involved out.

This book was certainly hot and steamy with some strong alpha males who like to dominate and make sure the women know who is in charge. I do like the steaminess of the book but I'm not keen on he females being spanked when they do something these men don't like. By all means spank away in the bedroom but pulling their pants down in public and spanking, defiantly NO, they are grown women not children.

I really did love the relationships between the characters, the banter between them and of course I LOVED the girls antics when the boys went off on mission. Jennie is one of my form favourites with her relationships and banters with the boys.

I am really looking forward to reading Ansons book next and his mission to rescue Natalie. She caught his eye at the auction but they could only buy one girl.

Stryder Steele and his brother Anson have gone to Russia to investigate Vasily Poplov and the Russian Sex Slave Trade. He and Anson are able to get an invite secretly and hope they can save as many of the women as they can.

Zoya Morozova moved to Moscow to try and make something of herself while her family remained back home. Upon arriving she meets Katrina Petrova who befriends her and promises to show her around but soon she finds herself up for auction.

When Stryder wins Zoya, will he be able to convince her that he is one of the good guys and will he be able to keep her safe?

This is another great book in the series and I am loving these brothers and don't want it to end!

Almost right from the beginning Stryder and Zoya enter into a special relationship and I found it kind of weird given that she was just auctioned off as a slave.

Stryder was pure alpha and definitely liked having control over things but Zoya definitely challenged him as well.

At times I almost felt bad for Zoya with her stubbornness and her inability to look at things from a different angle after Stryder tried to talk about Sophia.

The stuff that happened in Dubai was expected in a way but I was still shocked at what Hadi was able to pull off and it was awesome!

The end was awesome and I look forward to seeing what is next for Anson!

Stryder by Alta Hensley and Maggie Ryan is the second book in " The Black Stallion " series.

Stryder Steele and his brother are in Moskov to infiltrate a sex slave ring and eliminate the threat of Vasily Popov.
The Steele men vowed to rescue and safekeeping victims of the dark side.

Zoya is a naive russian girl who gets abducted and is to sold into slavery at a auction.
The Steele brothers buy her and bring her to their family ranch, they´re good people.

But what about the looming threat and their enemies? Who´s gonna win this war?
And what´s with Stryder´s and Zoya´s relationship? Can they find their HEA?

Reading this book I could feel the characters emotions. I really liked this book, but I didn´t like much Zoya´s character. She´s too naive.
All in all this is a good read and I give4,5 Stars.
Thank you Alta Hensley and Maggie Ryan !

This is the first Steele brothers book I have read. I could tell some things had occurred with Stryder's brother Maddox, prior to this book, but I felt like there was enough explanation that it wasn't necessary to read Book 1 first.

I was pleasantly surprised to find so much action and suspense in this romance book. This book was so well written, that I found the sex trafficking scenes made me cringe.

After that, I had a hard time putting this book down. I liked all of the characters. Keep in mind that I men in the Steele family practice Domestic Discipline along with BDSM. If those things are not your cup of tea, I would pass on this book.

I will be going back to read Maddox's book, and I am looking forward to Anson's book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is book two in the series and picks up right where the first left off. It could be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading in order.
Zoya has just moved to Moscow on her own. Soon after arriving she meets Katarina. She makes Zoya feel welcome and quickly become her friend and takes time to show her around. Only Zoya quickly learns she doesn't end up being a friend at all.
The Steeler's learn of a sex slave auction going on and make it their mission to rescue them. Stryder and his brother get an invitation and ready to place their bids. Now to make sure their save knows she is safe.
The second book did not disappoint. These Steele brother have quickly become a favorite.

This is the 2nd book in the series & it's definitely built on the good start from Maddox (book 1). It's a well written, well paced & thought out story with great characters. There are also enough light moments through the read that makes it easy to keep reading without a break. Don't worry if you haven't read the first book, as this is completely standalone. My only complaint is that for a non-American, Zoya had absolutely no problem with any of the language even though it's unlikely she would have been overly fluent since she came from a non-wealthy farming family.

Stryder and Zoya from the time they met have a unique relationship. Stryder rescued Zoya from others that wanted her to be
their personal sex slave. She goes to Texas to stay with Stryder ,and his family. The family does this a lot and takes in any
that they are able to rescue from harm. Zoya slowly learns to trust others and her life is changed immeasurably. This is an
excellent book.

description
Love amidst chaos...

Stryder is the second instalment in this bdsm-laced romantic suspense series and delves into the disturbing and troubling territory of human trafficking. The Steele family continues to fight for those in need and Stryder is determined to see Zoya Morozova safe. There is action and tears, and as I’ve come to expect, some curveballs along the way as this unexpected couple find their way…

This story, like Maddox and Adira’s before it, is chock-full of drama whether at home or on the international stage. The sex slave trade is the focal point here, providing the tension and urgency that moves this story forward. Stryder and Zoya are an interesting couple as they come together under high-pressure circumstances. Stryder is an ALPHA-MALE (capitals are totally warranted here) with a soft side brought out by the lovely Zoya. An innocent woman, leaving her life on the farm, is almost cliché as she finds herself thrust into a situation she could never imagine. She was naïve and scared however, she dealt with the changing situation with an admiring sense of purpose.

Theirs was a relationship borne of circumstance yet their coming together was rife with conflict and sexual heat. They seemed right together even as I wished to understand, and feel, more of the emotions that swept both of them away. I could see what was happening but often wanted/needed, to understand why as their emotions invested so quickly. Adding to that were some of the actions and events that seemed to conflict with the main theme/plot of the story. Saying that, however, these authors have created a family and a crusade that has caught, and kept, my attention. I like the quirky characters and the interaction with family this time around was again a wonderful blend of loving support and good-natured ribbing. There is one more brother, one more mission, and I am looking forward to Anson and Natalia’s story.

YOU’RE HIS WORLD, AND NOW YOU’VE ONLY ADDED TO HIS UNIVERSE

A great addition to The Black Stallion Trilogy, and with book two, we pick up with Stryder and Anson going to Russia to a privately held sex slave auction conducted by Vasily Poplov, the man who was responsible for the annihilation of Adira’s family on their yacht. As with the first story, it revolves around mystery, suspense, corruption, greed, power, and this time, young women kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery. The Steele family know that can’t save them all, but are hoping to learn who the other buyers are and from the woman they buy, more about the other women.

Sweet, young, and naïve, Zoya Morozova leaves her family farm and moved to Moscow only to be befriended by Katarina Petrova, a plant for Poplov. Drugged, kidnapped, and held captive along with twelve other girls, and to learn their fate will include being sold into sexual slavery, she will capitulate when they threaten the lives of her family.

Stryder sees something in the eyes of Zoya and knows she is the woman they must bid on and win, no matter the cost. Leaving the auction with their purchase has them on pins and needles. The first order of business will be to get Zoya safely at the ranch, and then the next plan will be learning more of their operation.

The plot is intense and keeps the pages turning in this life and death challenge. It takes the reader into the seedier world of human sex trafficking, and the men who buy women. The Steele family uses money, brains, skills and power to make things happen, even if it is to go to a slave auction and buy a woman. Getting Zoya safely away is the first order of business, then identifying the men buying the women is next. Between Anson’s amazing skills with computers and Zoya’s talents as an artist, this family works together like a well-oiled machine. Zoya and Stryder develop a connection, but her trust level falters with her fears. “He believed in consensual. He believed in firmness followed by tenderness. And he believed in pleasing even more than in giving pain.” “Every living thing needed comfort at times.”

In spite of the intensity and seriousness of the subject matter, there are so many times that something said, or a scene back at the ranch had me laughing out loud. The story has a great cast of characters, many from the first story, and I am sure they will also be carried into the next one. The end of the story will be the set up for book three, Anson’s story.

Stryder takes off almost right where Maddox leaves off. If you haven’t read Maddox, I would make sure you do that beforehand. While it’s not strictly necessary per say, you may find yourself feeling a tad bit lost about situations if you don’t. This book is well-written and covers an extremely difficult topic in human trafficking. It’s certainly not for the faint of heart. And like book one, there were definitely some things I struggled with. But overall, I did enjoy the book.

Zoya is a sweet, naïve young woman. She often acts immature and I think that gives us a glimpse of her age. Stryder is calculating, determined and always in control. The two of them together have some smoking hot chemistry and it isn’t long before they set fire. The characters are well developed, Stryder has more of a backstory than Zoya but both of them have flaws, strengths and insecurities. The secondary characters are just as developed. I’m still in love with Jennie. I think she’s hilarious and adds some much needed comic relief to the suspense.

Now for what didn’t work for me. There were points were Zoya was giving attitude that I felt didn’t exactly fit with her story. I’m sorry but if I’d been through what she had, I wouldn’t be going around calling him names and getting into his face. Secondly, the Stryders practice Domestic Discipline. And there’s an instance where this occurs and for me it’s dubious consent.

That being said, it is an enjoyable book. Others may enjoy it a lot more than I did. However, after now reading two of them, I’m unsure if I want to finish the series. I want to see the conclusion of the intrigue but I’m not sure that’s enough to keep me reading.

I look forward to these Steele brothers from The Black Stallion Trilogy series. Stryder does not disappoint and is every bit as sexy as his brother Maddox. In Stryder book 2 the Steele brothers are on a mission to rescue a woman who is being sold to the highest bidder in a underground human auction. This is a story of three brothers and a father who rescue and provide safety to those that are in danger, taking down the criminals and at times getting revenge.

Stryder Steele finds himself lost in the eyes of a woman that reminds him of someone from his past, this woman becomes part of a mission and he will do what ever it takes to rescue her and bring her home to The Black Stallion Ranch. In hopes that she will be able to help take down all those that participate in kidnapping and sex trafficking in Moscow. Stryder knew that the first time he saw Zoya's picture he would rescue, protect and make her his, he never realized that with helping her, she would also help him deal with his past.

Zoya Morozova wanted to prove her independence to her family and move to Moscow. Her kind heart and wanting to have a friend lands her kidnapped and put up for auction in a sex slave operation. Zoya didn't realize that she had someone out there willing to outbid everyone for her. Feeling the guilt of those girls left behind and the memories of her time taken hostage will she be able to keep it together and help the Steele brothers complete their mission.

Authors Hensley and Ryan give the reader everything that is expected in a suspenseful erotic romance. Stryder is full of love, the love of a father, brothers and the women who stand by them. I found it to be light on the BDSM but the sexual tension and passion is intense. I loved the humor in the story it made the dark subject of human sex trafficking a little easier for me to handle. I am a big fan of the Steele men and I am looking forward to Anson's story. This is a 5 Star must read for me!

This wonderful tale picks up where Maddox left off. It is well written and your attention never waivers, staying with it till the end. I can’t wait for the third! In this one, Stryder and Anson go to a sex slave auction and focus on saving the one girl that garnered Stryder’s attention in a photo. Zoya is a beautiful Russian girl that was lured by an unexpected friendship in a strange city. But on a night out, that ‘friend’ proved otherwise, setting her up for two men to take her into sex trafficking. So much happens that I don’t want to give it away, but this promises to be as well received as the first…and undoubtedly the third, which I am impatiently waiting for. This is the second book in The Black Stallion series. This one finds younger brothers Stryder and Anson undercover in Russia for a high end slave auction, run by the Steele's nemesis Vasily Popolov. Unable to rescue all the girls, Stryder insists on rescuing Zoya, a girl that first caught his attention in Book 1.

Just like the first book this book offers a nice blend of action adventure and romance. The alpha males are hot and the submissives are submissive, but still very independent. The settings are again beautifully described with such details that it made me feel as though I was there. This book leaves me anxiously awaiting the third book in the series.

This can definitely be read as a standalone but I recommend read in order. I just started book one , Maddox , now and out of order and wish read in order. If you enjoy in depth characters with lots of angst and emotional turmoil, adventure, intrigue, bad guys verses better highly Alpha guys then this series and book is for you. Contains a lot of erotic heat and an unconventional love story. Read this book.

Loved how they came together and even though they had an agreement you knew it was going to develope in to more.i gotta say i didn't see who the killer was coming. we had a general idea but still. Just wish it would have told a bit more about the engagement and her finding out about the pregnancy but its still a great read. its a stand alone with a HEA

Stryder is the much-anticipated second book in The Black Stallion Trilogy. This time, baby brother Stryder and middle brother Anson head to Russia where it’s off to buy a sex slave. The evil Vasily Poplov is selling women to perfectly horrible rich people, and the Steele brothers have wrangled themselves invites. Anson wants to save one in particular, but Stryder already had his sights set on Zoya Morozova.

Zoya had come to Russia from her village and been grabbed up. Now she was being taken back to the Steeles ranch to help with recovering the other girls and bringing down the buyers, and Poplov.

Of course, Stryder is attracted to Zoya and even though he comforts her, you know the spankings are coming. Granted, sometimes I had to give a good eye roll at some of the reasons behind them, and I’m a sub. (Maybe that’s why the Steele boys don’t like American women?)

Still, it’s a great read, and well written with some truly hot scenes. I’m still up in the air about Jennie though. She’s loving, and wonderful to her boys and their exotic women, but pushing veganism on them like she does, then smoking pot and getting drunk is hypocritical, not to mention dosing someone you propose to care for with laxatives? That’s just wrong.

Still, I give this book 4 Stars because the story is well done, the sex is hot, and despite the craziness, I can’t seem to put the books down.

Stryder is the second story in the Black Stallion Ranch series. Stryder is one of the three sons of Drake, and brother to Maddox, the lead character in the first story in the series – Maddox. As in the first story, there is a mysterious Russian criminal behind a slave trade in young women – and Stryder is going to solve it along with his brothers and father. Zoya is one of those women, and the story of how she is saved and becomes an accomplice in helping to bring down the criminal is a good one – as is the love affair that develops between Stryder and Zoya. The story moves quickly and the love affair develops in a believable way, with episodes of spanking and other discipline. I really enjoyed the book – my only complaint was that it was hard to believe that Zoya, a Russian farm girl, could speak such good English, including colloquialisms. The book can be read as a stand-alone, but one who has read Maddox first will understand the story better.
