Most Lone Wolves have a story--a pack they left behind, a love they lost, or worse, one they buried. Some leave their packs to roam because they crave freedom, and independence. Some leave because in their hearts, they can't bear to stay. Some leave because they see no way to go back...

Enforcer John Nelson has pulled double duty for months, keeping an eye on the Lone Wolves who are his charges as well as those that once answered to Margo Montgomery. More of a loner than most, he doesn't mind going months at a time without seeing another Enforcer as was his typical pattern or at least it was until the formation of the Three Rivers pack disrupted lives everywhere. Now he must divide his time between watching the upstarts and checking on his charges while working with the other Enforcers to anticipate the next move by the Russian Volchitsa. No Enforcer expected to find themselves among the hunted, but when they target the one wolf he can tolerate, John defies orders to go after her.

Hadley Sexton is a bit of a wild card even for an Enforcer, and she loves being unpredictable. More of a mother hen than she likes to admit, she keeps an eye on her Lone Wolves, and treats them more like family than charges...but when three Enforcers are brutally murdered over the course of three weeks, Hadley discovers someone has been shadowing her trail and they aren't alone. It is a dangerous game with a brutal enemy, one willing to kill the wolves she's sworn to protect to draw her out.

For Hadley, John will break every rule, but will he be in time?

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

This is the eleventh story in this action packed shifter series in which the US packs and lone wolves are still in danger from the Russian Volchitsa wolves who are now killing Enforcers and attacking the packs with increasing frequency. As the Enforcers strive to ascertain if there is any pattern to these attacks, they endeavour to ensure the Lone Wolves aren't actually alone and encourage them to move into areas where packs already are settled. Enforcer John Nelson is already trying to cover an increased area but when it seems the Volchitsa are targeting Hadley Sexton, John is determined to protect her. However, someone is shadowing her and danger is all around. Can John help protect Hadley - and Hadley protect John? With more secrets to uncover, fights to be won and perils everywhere, will their love stand a chance?

I suspect that this book would not be as enthralling to anyone who hasn't read other books in the series - and I certainly have. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters are, as usual for this author, well developed and even the more familiar ones from other stories still have revelations made to enhance the readers' understanding of the characters, their action and reactions. The on-going plot is woven seamlessly into this story, adding more to the overall picture and making this a thrilling read. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this entire series to anyone who enjoys well written thrilling, paranormal adventures with a large slice of romance, too! I'm now awaiting in eager anticipation for the final story in this series, Ghost Wolf, to be released!

Many thanks to the publishers for gifting me a copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to read and review.

Hadley had been ordered that all lone wolves within her territory to gather because there was safety in numbers. Hadley knew Julian meant in groups of two or three not twelve like Hadley had gathered together. Hadley’s lone wolves had been alone for five years or more so keeping them all together with no problems would not be easy. Then Haley got a message Calitri- another Enforcer like Hadley was dead. Hadley and Calitri had trained together and at one time had been lovers. He was stubborn, strong, and funny and Hadley could not believe he was dead. When Hadley asked what had happened the answer was Volchitsa . Amy had come to do the autopsy which was an honor shown to the enforcers as Amy typically served the inner circle along side the alpha Serafina and her closest friends. At any given point the number of Enforcers did not rise above fifty . Lately they had been losing enforcers faster than they were gaining them. The Chief Enforcer was Julian. The Volchitsa had been making senseless moves with no rationale that they couldn’t understand until long after wards. The enforcers could not afford to stay so far behind. They were hunting Enforcers. Lone wolves were normally allowed their freedom as long as they followed the rules. John Loved Hadley but understood her need and loved of her freedom and doing things her way. Hadley felt being an Enforcer was like being a house mother at a sorority. John didn’t really like many wolves he was a true loner. John wondered if Julian knew the Alphas were chatting? Or were the Alphas beginning to make moves without the Enforcers? John would have to report to Julian that it sounded like if the Enforcers didn’t take care of the problem the U S packs were planning their own offenses. John was sent to Willow bend to question two Volchitsa prisoners one had killed himself before John could question him.The prisoners had GPS tracking devices in their noses. Then four more Volchitsa wolves attacked the Alpha’s pregnant mate in her home at Willow Bend. John killed the fourth wolf saving the pregnant wolf’s life. Hadley and her lone wolves had been attacked at the Lodge by six Russian wolves . One wolf- Herman was dead and two other wolves were seriously hurt. But Hadley waited until they were well enough to travel as wolves and the went to Oregon. Hadley got the lone wolves on planes to go packs except Peter and Hadley worried where Peter was and if he was okay and hurt over Herman’s death as Hadley had a very big and caring heart especially when it came to her lone wolves. Hadley started to a cabin that was suppose to be a safe place when she got close to the cabin she spotted three Volchitsa wolves. Hadley killed the two males and was fighting with the female when John appeared and killed the female. Hadley had wanted to question the female but could not now. Julian sent John an address of a safe house and it turned out to be Julian’s estate.
I loved this story all the way to the last page and it ended with a cliffhanger not a bad one but still I hate any kind of cliffhanger or this would definitely been a five rating. But I loved Hadley’s character she was tough, strong yet could be gentle and loving. I loved the action and intrigue in this story. The plot was great and I loved the way the story came together.. Julian was a good leader and I loved how John and Hadley came together. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story I recommend. I would give this a 4.5 if i could

I just love this series and Thunder Wolf helps move this story arc of the Enforcers forward, giving us a bit more insight into the Enforcer world as well as revealing more information about the threat of the Russian Volchista.

Hadley and John were both great characters. I just loved watching Hadley go all Enforcer on her charges, keeping them in line and reminding them that just because she may be small, doesn’t mean that she still can’t kick some serious butt. John wants Hadley – no ifs, ands, or buts…except as an Enforcer relationships aren’t something you can do. Of course, from the beginning of this story arc you can feel that the world is changing for these wolves, and maybe involvement is not a liability. I loved that even though John’s base instinct was to protect Hadley, he respected her Enforcer ability and let her take care of herself, never trying to step in front of her, always fighting beside her. It was great seeing these two work together and play together – and I loved how Hadley could bring about that playful side in John.

I also love the way that Heather Long manages to interweave the stories of the packs into each book, allowing us to keep track of the goings on and spend time with some of the characters from previous books. And continuing to see different sides of Julian, the head of the Enforcers, is always interesting – and has me anticipating his book!

As I’ve said before, this is one of my favorite series. I think the only thing keeping me from a 5-star rating on this one was I didn’t feel as emotionally vested in the characters as I have in so many of the other books, which may have been a result of both characters being Enforcers and both were fairly well adjusted – I felt like I was watching a great story rather than being a part of it. Again, still enjoyed this one, just finding it hard to rate it the same as some of the other books in the series that I loved!

Although I think you can read this one as a stand-alone there are a lot of tie-ins to the overall story arc which may make this one a bit harder to follow along with – and really, this entire series is worth the read so why not start at the beginning!

This is the eleventh story in this action packed shifter series and it would perhaps benefit the reader
to familiarise themselves with the previous characters and story-lines.

The US packs and lone wolves are still in danger from the Russian Volchitsa wolves who are now attacking the packs with increasing frequency.
The Enforcers endeavour to ensure the Lone Wolves aren't in danger and encourage them to move into areas where packs already are settled .
Now the Enforcers themselves are being target - tortured and killed ........... is this a continuation of the Volchitsa's plan to take over or is something else in play ?
Enforcer John Nelson is already covering a large area but comes to realise his fellow Enforcer Hadley Sexton might be the focus of an attack , someone is shadowing her .
The story plays out their growing feelings for each other against a backdrop flight and fight - trying to protect their wolves and each other .

This is an enthralling book in an excellent series and I look forward to the conclusion .
I would recommend the book and series to anyone who enjoys a 'shifter' thriller/romance with an excellent story-line and great characters .

I was given an ARC of this book by the publisher and netgalley in exchange for an honest review .

One word! Awesome! Heather Long's series "Wolves of Willow Bend" was the first one that I totally fell in love with. Each episode is complete, yet weaves in and about the others, as Ms. Long spins her web that traps and compels us to continue reading. Her words keep us enraptured as we progress through the stories of the wolves of Willow Bend and the surrounding packs. In this episode, we briefly visit with a couple of the packs, but mostly gain an insight on the enforcers, as they battle an unknown enemy trying to, what would appear, take over the American territories, to dissolve the newly formed band that ties them together. At the same time, we follow the growing love that has been brewing between two of the enforcers. Hadley is the baddest badass there is, and John knows it, but that doesn't stop him from loving her, loving her enough to let her remain free. But is freedom from John truly what Hadley wants?
Once again, Heather Long has captured my attention and expanded my love for this series that she has so graciously gifted us with. Definitely one you want to pick up and start reading. You won't regret it, I'm sure.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Can’t wait for the next one I’ve been waiting on those two to finally meet up and hash it out. I’m hoping the father of the omega is not who we thought it was. Then again I want to get back to Delta Crescent and maybe even Diesel, those two really stand out and seeing that we didn’t get to see Serafina’s pack in action on home turf I don’t want it to be over before we can.

With so much interest put on Peter I’m wondering if he was in Three Rivers and who gave him a drawer. Hopefully he ties into what’s happening seeing he just so happened to take off before the attack. Great read, just adds to the suspense of wanting to know what’s going to happen next.

Wow, I never gave much thought to the Enforcers before, beyond Julian, but I will now! Our overshadowing story arc takes a few twists and turns here, and in the centre of it all, our Enforcers, John and Hadley. We get to see the true power, the caring, and the intelligence of the Enforcers. There was action, there was intrigue, there was subterfuge, and there were some answers with more questions. But, we get a hint of what life could look like in the future, but we need to get this threat put down first!

The Enforcers are basically chasing their tails. The Volchitsa (Russian) Wolves are attacking at what seems indiscriminately, but even one attack on their own is too many.

John Nelson has been doing double his usual work when it comes to his Lone Wolves. Rules are very strict for wolves that do not stay with their pack and an Enforcer will keep them on the straight and narrow. Now with the random and viscous attacks on Alpha's mates the Enforcers were told to round up their lone wolves and get them to safety, but that just might not be the best idea.

Hadley Sexton is an enforcer who has her lone wolves safely in an old lodge but besides the tension that is normal with wolves that don't like to be near each other, Hadley is worried. The world around them has gone crazy and survival is uppermost in all their minds.

I have to say that THUNDER WOLF is fantastic. I have followed this series from book 1 and have been anxiously waiting for the next one. The way these books are written you become caught up in the lives of these characters and want to know what happens to them next. I have noticed that with the last book (Shadow Wolf) and this one the Enforcer's are fleshed out more. They are less the boogeymen and more real, though perhaps just as frightening because well ... they are boogeymen.

THUNDER WOLF is steamy, sweet, tense and funny as well as filled with action, some hits of sadness and heartbreak as the Volchitsa attack at different fronts. But, of course, the main story is getting to know John and Hadley and watching as they finally figure out that they are perfect mates. Hadley is a mother hen type of Enforcer, stretching the rules a little for her charges while John had seemed more by the rules. His one weakness is ... Hadley. Though they had been only friends he would do anything to protect her and when he finds she is in danger he will disobey the chief and head to her side.

Wait a minute ... Enforcers are pretty much considered Lone Wolf's? I see an interesting twist coming for the future of this fascinating couple and the fate of other Enforcers. I also enjoyed getting to know a little more about Julian and find out he does indeed have a weakness. It has been hinted at in other books, but you will have to read to find out what I am talking about. The Wolves of Willow Bend is an amazing series with Alpha's, mates, healers, omega's and those who protect and serve. Love shifters ... look for THUNDER WOLF.

Ahh! I loved this story!

Though I really like Johns strength and stoicism, he bothered me by being willing to watch Hadley from afar, even with other people. And I want to dislike Hadley for her selfishness where John is concerned, but as I learn more about her, I think she’s just blind to him. But the reason I LOVE this story is it’s focus on the overarching storyline and the advancements it makes. Our wolves are finally making progress and I’m stoked to read the next story!

The Russian Volchista continue to attack the packs in this book of the Wolves of Willow Bend series. Hated that Hadley lost a lone wolf and had others injured but it really pissed her off and made the story more interesting. This book is a little heavier than some of the other books but also moved the story along. I can't wait for the next book and hope this terror is soon taken care of soon.

On the hunt

Enforcers are being targeted now not just the packs. It takes creative thinking just to get a few answers but one thing is certain the packs have found a cohesiveness unheard of before now. Times they are a changen.

With 3 enforcers dead who is next? Can John get to Hadley and keep her safe?
A good read but slow read. I didn't realise that it was a series and I haven't read the others. I did like Hadley and John. 3*.

Guardians

This is the second book in the Guardians of the Wolves arc within the Wolves of Willow Bend series. It is another great read, one that I enjoyed a lot. The Russian Volchista continues to strike at the packs and now the Enforcers. They seem to operate two steps ahead of the Enforcers, striking out in a big/small pattern. Hadley, a former Willow Bend pack member and long time Enforcer, calls her lone wolves together to the Lodge for safety after several lone wolves are killed as a lure for their assigned Enforcer, who was then captured and killed. Hadley is taking no chances, especially when a storm takes out their power and she has no way of communicating with the outside world. Then the Volchista come and, in the aftermath, Hadley and her wolves flee.

John Nelson is an Enforcer with special abilities, and something is telling him Hadley is in trouble. Defying Julian's direct orders to stay in Willow Bend following a Volchista attack there, he drives three days to get to the Lodge, where he finds evidence of a battle and a quick clean-up of the scene. But he also finds a hidden message...Hadley is alive and on her way to Oregon. Which is now John's destination as well, because Hadley is his friend. And she's also his to protect.

This series sucks me in every time. I look forward to when another one comes out because then I can see what is going to happen next in the war of a unusual kind. I also get to become more intimate with characters that become more dear. The Enforcers have become some of my favorite with the biggest curiosity being Julian but not yet his time I guess. In this one it will center around the most on Hadley and John with it finally developing into something thanks to a nudge by unfortunate circumstances. This author gets you right away by your gonads with anxiousness and delight. You will get some answers but then also a couple more questions in the on going dilemma. The intensity is peaking in this one with you almost breaking out in a sweat. The heat will also burn you if not careful. By the time you get to the last of this one you screech in frustration because it seems to have ended to soon for my liking lol. I want Julian's soon too.

Simply Wonderful

What an utterly brilliant addition to the Willow Bend series! The story still keeps me on my toes and I cannot put it down. I loved Hadley's perfect mixture of mother hen caring and absolute ferociousness on behalf of her charges. John was wonderful himself, although stoic and selfless to Hadley's outgoing playfulness. What an all around joy to read. I absolutely cannot wait for the next one!

Two lone Enforcer wolves keep getting closer and closer together. Three have died already from the invading Russian packs. Will they get their happy ending or will it end up bloody?

Hadley has always been a lone wolf at heart since she got her blessing to leave the pack with no backlash. And she hasn't looked back since that day. She teams up with enforcers when she has too. But she happily keeps track of her area and the lone wolves in it. But every time he comes around, he wolf goes a little nuts. It doesn't help that he supposedly saved her, and they are now bucking together in a remote area, baiting the Russian packs to come in. They have a plan, but will it work? And will they get that happy ending that they talked about?

John can't stand it anymore. Of all the enforcers and wolves he's been around. Only one puts his wolf on edge to want to mate. Hadley. She's perfect in every way, shape and form for him. He just hopes he can get her to see that. When they have to bunk together, and her wicked toyful ways of teasing him don't help with making plans, and getting out how he feels about her. But if he wants to tell her, he better do so soon before she is off again. Can he help defeat the Russian wolves with his head in the clouds and get his mate too?

Keeping them all safe, or can they
This is an action-packed story that’s part of a series and yet still a self-contained story.
The enforcer of the Lone Wolves understands them the best because they themselves have a bit of lone wolf in them. But some of them do make connections and friends of the others. Some more than others.
John Nelson and Hadley Sexton are friends as well as enforcers. Each having their own territory and Lone wolves to keep an eye on. In this story, more is going on behind the scenes because of the bigger threat to the lone wolves by the Volchitsa. Both Lone wolves and enforces are being singled out an attacked.
You got plenty to keep you glued to the pages of this well written and very entertaining story.

I’ve been reading the Willow Bend stories right from the beginning. I just love them. Thunder Wolf doesn’t disappoint. (It is a standalone, however, it has characters from previous books popping up. For me, I enjoy “visiting” with them again and again.) This story is about John Nelson and Hadley Sexton – two enforcers who keep an eye on groups of lone wolves who are not part of any of the packs in the US and will do exactly what their title says: enforce pack law. The “bad guys” in the stories so far are truly brutal (to use Ms. Long’s word) and John’s and Hadley’s story is another step to close in on them. Both enforcers are themselves lone wolves but this is their story, weaved in between much action and intrigue, and (for me) it was pretty touching. These two find their HEA but trust that this is an action packed adventure. We also meet some of Hadley’s charges and each character will touch your heart. I love this series, enjoyed this book, and recommend.

Guardian Arc Action!

Next to last book in the Guardian Arc of the Willow Bend series. If you are a fan of the series, then you will definitely want to read this book. More action and further details are revealed about the Russian wolves; we start to get a glimpse into the life of mysterious Chief Enforcer, Julian and his relationship with roque, Dallas Dalton; and finally we get a sweet, steamy romance between Enforcers John Nelson and Hadley Sexton. Overall awesome read and I enjoyed every action-packed minute of it.

The mini Arc within the Wolves of Willow Bend continues with another fraught episode!

Lone Wolves are being hunted, Enforcers are being targeted and the Alphas are wondering what comes next!

With attacks on Alpha mates the Volchista are really amping up the terror. Hadley and her fellow enforcers are bunkered down with their chargers. She has more hassle than most as she decided to herd all of her charges together at an old Lodge.

John Nelson has been Hadley's friend for years. He has seen her bedmates come and go, sure in the knowledge that he was her friend and not wanting t cross the line where he might make her choose freedom...or him! But when she falls completely off the radar and doesn't check in, he defies Julians order and rolls to the rescue. Hadley may be more than capable of kicking all furry butts but she must admit some help would be nice. But once she her charges were seen to safety she can delve further into the patterns of Volchista attacks.

There are lots of twists and turns and future plot bunnies a go go! John and Hadley were a great duo and their chemistry sure did sizzle! I can't wait to read Julian's book and know just what this crafty beggar has been up to behind the scenes!

I repeat myself a lot, but talking about Heather Long's Wolves of Willow Bend Series I just can said that it gets better and better with each book. In this 11th instalment of this series, we met two of may favourite characters: Hayley and John. We met these 2 before in Rogue Wolf.....at that moment and in a few lines, I really love Hayle. In Thunder Wolf, we met her again and we can see her in her full glory: strong, independent, fierce, protective, funny and sooo without filters. Adn there is John: strong, introvert, honest, and of course handsome :) Their relationship is not one spark in the moment..they knew each other...and lusted for each other for a long time...but they are enforcers..and that's one of the conundrum of the story..they are throw together in a sad, impossible situation and thatnks to Ms. long's writing they battle each situation with certain amount of grace and respect and fierceness. Also we learn more about the Voltchisca (sp?), and the war that is brewing on..and how the enforcers work...In all her books, Ms. Long gave us little explanations of how "wolves" understand ethics, life style and moral . In this book, I particularly love the explanations she gave us about, truth, honesty, facts, faith, heroes and villains, war, violence. So kuddos, Ms Heather!! I think this is one of the best books in the series...I can wait for the rest to come!!! If you are new to the series do not hesitate and read the rests..you will be pleasantly surprised!

I received an ARC of this novel without obligation. This is my honest review.

Title: Thunder Wolf
Series: Wolves of Willow Bend
Author: Heather Long

Release Date: March 7, 2017
Publishing House: Barclay Publicity

Genres: Paranormal wolf Romance

Thoughts: It is definitely a good story, there were parts where I floundered as I have not read this series in ages and can not remember where I stopped for characters that show(ed) up. So I can not safely say on it's cohesion with the other books and with it being some sort of mini arc? I felt dropped into a ocean.

Thunder Wolf is a terrific story that I probably rushed through hoping to get to the next book which is the story I’ve been waiting for. Julians book is coming! But enough of that. Thunder Wolf is pretty heavy. There is a lot going on in the enforcers attempt to avoid all out war with the Russian Volchitsa. Enforcer Hadley Sexton is doing her job when she and her charges are attacked by members of the Volchitsa. One of her wolves is killed and two are seriously wounded. She is pissed off. She moves her charges to safe locations and hopes to lure the Volchitsa away from the others by using herself as bait. It works but just as she is pinning a Volchitsa to question Enforcer John Nelson comes in and kills it thinking he is saving Hadley. John and Hadley work together to discover the Volchitsa’s plans. In doing so they discover each other as well. We learn a lot more about Chief Enforcer Julian as well. This book reads like a paranormal James Bond novel with humor and love. I loved it and can’t wait for the next.
