lighthearted, witty...a little sexy... thriller with moments of genuine suspense. Jim Kirby saves the life of a stranger, only to find he has walked into a whole lot of trouble...Hold on to your hats... He burst into the room as she backed herself further into the corner, eyes wide with terror. He made to grab at her and suddenly she found her voice. Screaming and screaming she scratched and thumped at him trying to fight him off….a reflex kick made him back off and double over for a second…but no. Not a chance. He had her!
Hilariously written and without all the description that's needlessly added to pad out a book. Well written and the sexy bits are left to your imagination. Loved Danforth you feel as if you know him
This is one of those books that, if I hadn't agreed to review it on a professional level, I would have stopped reading it by chapter 2.
The dialogue, which is most of this novel, is horrific. No one talks like this. Also, Carr seems to have no idea how to format dialogue which seems like something a halfway decent editor or proof reader could have helped with.
And, most importantly, I dislike every character in this novel. In fact, I hated Jo--a hatred that only increased as it became clear Carr has no idea how to write women.
