This book opens with Able laid on the roof his Remington 700 takedown sniper rifle ready to takedown his target, everything is set until he hears a creak and then a nail drop, the nail he placed earlier. He's not alone, his breathing slows and he opens his senses, alert and ready.
Able is an assassin and it appears someone is trying to kill him, after some checking it turns out it's not just him 3 other assassins have been taken out in the last two weeks.
The question is who's killing them off and why?
Now as a professional killer Able tends to keep people at a distance preferring to work solo but there are times when he needs something so Able reaches out to the ones he's trusts. Firstly his foster brother Samson, Samson's ex-girlfriend Claire, IT expert Sabene, Rife and Milo.
Meanwhile Teagan is breaking the law for the first time, her sister Tabitha uncovered something and it cost her her life and Teagan is determined to avenge her which is how she finds herself in the offices of Hume Corp at night downloading secret files to hand to the FBI.
Able and Teagan find themselves in the same place at the same time, Able is following a lead and Teagan is handing the information she's collected over to the FBI.
Able and crew discover who's targeting them, Teagan meanwhile gets arrested for murder.
Teagan provides the missing information and it soon becomes apparent that someone rich and very powerful is behind this.
This book had a lot going for it, I liked Able, Samson, Claire, Sabene, Rife and even Milo grew on me after a while.
My problem, my only problem was Teagan.
She's completely out of her element I understand that, she's breaking the law for the first time and suddenly finds herself surrounded by killers, but it soon becomes obvious that Able and crew are her only chance of survival.
There were bits that annoyed me about her throughout the book but I let it all slide since she's in a world so different from anything she's known before but then came the TSTL moment and I just can't let that pass but more on that in the spoiler.
Despite Teagan's brush with stupid this was an interesting read and all the boxes are ticked for this to become a really good series.
The story is interesting enough, there's some intriguing characters and some hot sex, Able makes a hot protective male lead and it's all looking good for the future.

This was a great opening book for what I'm hoping will be a great series.
Teagan is on a path to find out who murdered her sister, only problem is she's probably never so much as jay walked in her life. Teagan is so out her element it's not even funny, she slightly reminded me of that girl from the horror movie who's like oh I wonder what who that is and omg he has a axe then bam your dead, lol. But her motives were pure in trying to bring justice for her sister, she has no idea how far it extends.
Able on the other hand is the opposite of Teagan he's a professional sniper and has his own questions about why his team is being targeted also.
There's a lot of really good characters that I'm looking forward to reading about in the series.

What a fantastic way to start a series! Volney drew me in with her intriguing and not-so-by-the-book characters and kept me there with the intricate and fast paced tale that she wove. The world was well developed without being over the top, and was the perfect backdrop for this fast paced tale. Danger and romance both take centre stage in perfect harmony as we get to know characters and the jobs that they find themselves in.
The characters here really made the story for me. I love how intricate the development was, while still allowing the characters to remain mysterious. And the dynamics between the group were fantastic as well. I loved them within this story, but they also have me dying to come back for future novels to get to know them all better.
This is a one of a kind story that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone, anywhere. Volney is a terrific author who never fails to capture my attention and hold it throughout the brilliant stories that she tells.

Teagan sister got killed and Teagan want bring the guy down who was responsible for her death. But things go wrong and before she knows is she is being charged for the murder of a FBI Agent. Abel is a professional hitman. Someone is after him and his gang and suddenly his get involved in a big case where Teagan is an important piece to the case. He quickly finds himself attracted to her and he will do everything to help her and keep her safe. No good dead is a fantastic story with a lot of action. I couldn't put it away. I had to read what was going to happen. it was amazing and I will highly recommend this book

Loved this story. From the fast paced investigation to the hot sex, this book had it all. Teagan and Able had chemistry from the first moment they saw each other and even after she was no longer in danger he could not let her go. I hope there is more to this series as I would love to read more about the other characters.

I greatly loved this book. From start to end, it held my interest, with its fast paced investigation and the hot as sin sex, all neatly wrapped in a great suspense story. Teagan and Able hit it off immediately and he just couldn't let her go, even if he is not good for her.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

UPDATE*****Loved, loved, loved this book!!! I was getting very irritated by life, as I did not want to put this book down or sleep once I started. Dude! Able March is now another book boyfriend for me. I hope the others don't get jealous, Lol. So we have Able, an assassin for hire, who on a recent job is almost killed. Fast forward to a motley crew of assassins and we find out that some, if not all, are being taken out. Next we have Teagan who only wants to do what's right and has some information, that could out the man responsible for killing her sister, behind bars. There is so much action, suspense, backstabbing and spilling state secrets, it was freaking AWESOME!!!! I was so entrenched and I could not believe what I was reading. I felt like I was watching a movie, it is that engaging! Able sees what's going down when Teagan meets up with an FBI agent and decides to intervene before she gets hurt. What follows, pulls you in and does not let you go! Teagan and Able have a chemistry that's undeniable and pours out like hot molten lava, disintegrating their clothes and burning up the sheets! Their sex was hawt! Not hot, but HAWT!!!!! Lol. I loved their chemistry and the fact that they were so into each other, however, that did not detach from the main story, which is finding out what is going on and the best way to take the other nasties out . Very well written, and you will not want to put this book down! Loved it! 5 stars are not enough, 10 would be perfect! Thank you for the opportunity. I cannot wait for next Bad to Be Good book. The rest of the group are very engaged in the story and you get a sneak peek into each of their personalities. I wouldn't mind getting up close and personal with Rife, either. Lol. After things turn sour and Teagan is framed for the death of a police officer, Able comes to break her out of jail since she is a valuable part of finding out who is after him.
Together with the help of their team Able and Teagan work out whats going on and along the way find out that their is an attraction between them that goes beyond the "stress relief" they agreed with each other.
Able is a complicated man that doesn't do feelings though, so can they both find out a way to be together or will they loose each other after the investigation is solved?
I loved this book, I loved the characters and I cant wait to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed reading this amazing book. The story has the right dose of sexy, dangerous scenes and it's full of action. Able is a hired criminal who stumbles in an unwanted situation that can have serious consequences leading him and his friends towards their assassination. Teagan, on the other hand, is seeking revenge for her sister who got killed by a dangerous entrepreneur. Both of their lives are messed up and Able will do everything in his power to protect Teagan because he has fallen really hard for her. I admit, as I kept reading this book I felt personally involved, it actually left me speechless. I highly recommend this book filled with lots of suspense but mainly enriched with lots of steamy scenes. My compliments to the author, she gave the reader the right dose of thrill and excitement. A must read.

I enjoyed this story. This book was very good from beginning to end and hoping that this will be a great series in the future. I enjoyed every minute of this action packed thrill ride with enjoyable characters and hot sex scenes to go with it. Teagan's sister was killed and she is looking to bring down the person who killed her. Abel is a hitman. I loved these two characters a lot they had great chemistry together. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book had a thrilling plot about a hitman who gets entangled with a normal girl who was about to be taken out by his rival.
I didn’t care much for the rest of it. The female main character was an IDIOT constantly putting herself in danger or being oblivious to the obvious. It seemed like the author didn’t know how to keep the plot moving so she made the fmc do something so the mmc had to save her.

Really Good
5 stars this book was different in a good way. Assassins in a group who you got involved with. Plus a love story thrown in for good measure. Problem is I didn't want it to be over. I need more of these people with their own book.

Il faut croire que je suis entrée dans ma période spéciale « assassins », j’ai l’impression de lire que des romances centrées autour d’eux. Bien entendu, qui dit assassin, dit meurt et histoire plus sombre que la normale, des personnages torturés, de l’action et une enquête à démêler. Avec No Good Dead, chacun de ces points sont présent, créant un romantic suspens vraiment sympa avec tout un tas de personnages qu’on a hâte de revoir par la suite.
Able est un assassin depuis des années, il a toujours eu un don pour les meurtres mais attention, il est minutieux dans ce qu’il fait. Ayant grandit dans des foyers, il ne s’est attaché qu’à très peu de personne et il cultive encore aujourd’hui un caractère assez froid et détaché, mais avec une touche d’humour bienvenue. Son frère adoptif Samson est la seule faille que l’on voit chez lui, celui qui fait ressortir ses sentiments, tout du moins jusqu’à ce qu’il rencontre Teagan. Après avoir passé du temps avec la jeune femme, il se remet en question, entraperçoit un avenir inespéré et surtout commence à croire qu’il reste du bon en lui. C’est un personnage vraiment intense et entier dans tout ce qu’il fait, sa carapace est loin de cacher que c’est un sanguin et un passionnel.
Teagan lui ressemble d’ailleurs sur certains points puisqu’elle n’a pas peur de se salir les mains et se mettre en danger afin de venger le meurtre de sa sœur. Elle s’infiltre dans une entreprise afin de découvrir les raisons de cet assassinat et devient à son tour la cible. Able va alors la sauver et la protéger, tout en réveillant en elle des émotions qu’elle ne ressentait plus depuis un bon moment : la sécurité, l’espoir, la passion et le désir. Teagan est une femme forte et admirable qui se dévoile très ouverte d’esprit avec une grande capacité d’adaptation. Par contre ce qui m’a déplut chez elle, c’est cette volonté de se faire des idées sur tout sans preuves, souvent avec des idées préconçues, et du coup se monter la tête inutilement, notamment avec Able.
Leur relation commence de la plus mauvaise des façons puisqu’Able apparait dans un moment de faiblesse de Teagan et que cette dernière ignore pouvoir lui faire confiance. Ils sont forcés de travailler ensemble afin de s’en sortir vivant, tout en surmontant une attirance physique palpable. Il est donc logique que leur couple se base avant tout sur le sexe, comme une sorte de moyen de se rassurer et décompresser. Mais voilà, rien ne se passe comme prévu, alors qu’ils essayent d’en rester au purement physique, ils commencent tous deux à s’ouvrir et les sentiments pointent le bout de leur nez.
Par contre, bien que la romance soit très présente, ce n’est pas le cœur même de ce livre. C’est avant tout l’enquête qui réunit Teagan et Able, comment ils vont s’en sortir sans dommages, mais pas uniquement ! On découvre l’univers violent des assassins, leurs vies dans les ténèbres, la solitudes et le doute, pourtant certains sont proches et forment des groupes ou « familles ». C’est le cas avec le cercle de connaissances d’Able et on rencontre des personnages incroyables et plutôt atypiques qui titillent notre intérêt. Tous les membres sont différents, il y aussi bien des hommes que des femmes, avec des idéaux, des dons et des passés différents. On sent bien d’ailleurs qu’il y a une histoire entre deux d’entre qu’on hâte de voir davantage explorée !
No Good Dead a été une belle surprise pour moi, écrit de façon simple mais allant toujours droit au but. Il y a une facilité évidente dans l’enchaînement de l’intrigue, l’action ne ralentit jamais et il y a suffisament ce qu’il faut de scènes érotiques pour faire des pauses. Pourtant, tout cela était vraiment addictif, on a du mal à lâcher le livre une fois commencé. C’est donc avec très grand plaisir (et impatience) que je lirais la suite de cette série qui en mérite la peine !
Able est un assassin depuis des années, il a toujours eu un don pour les meurtres mais attention, il est minutieux dans ce qu’il fait. Ayant grandit dans des foyers, il ne s’est attaché qu’à très peu de personne et il cultive encore aujourd’hui un caractère assez froid et détaché, mais avec une touche d’humour bienvenue. Son frère adoptif Samson est la seule faille que l’on voit chez lui, celui qui fait ressortir ses sentiments, tout du moins jusqu’à ce qu’il rencontre Teagan. Après avoir passé du temps avec la jeune femme, il se remet en question, entraperçoit un avenir inespéré et surtout commence à croire qu’il reste du bon en lui. C’est un personnage vraiment intense et entier dans tout ce qu’il fait, sa carapace est loin de cacher que c’est un sanguin et un passionnel.
Teagan lui ressemble d’ailleurs sur certains points puisqu’elle n’a pas peur de se salir les mains et se mettre en danger afin de venger le meurtre de sa sœur. Elle s’infiltre dans une entreprise afin de découvrir les raisons de cet assassinat et devient à son tour la cible. Able va alors la sauver et la protéger, tout en réveillant en elle des émotions qu’elle ne ressentait plus depuis un bon moment : la sécurité, l’espoir, la passion et le désir. Teagan est une femme forte et admirable qui se dévoile très ouverte d’esprit avec une grande capacité d’adaptation. Par contre ce qui m’a déplut chez elle, c’est cette volonté de se faire des idées sur tout sans preuves, souvent avec des idées préconçues, et du coup se monter la tête inutilement, notamment avec Able.
Leur relation commence de la plus mauvaise des façons puisqu’Able apparait dans un moment de faiblesse de Teagan et que cette dernière ignore pouvoir lui faire confiance. Ils sont forcés de travailler ensemble afin de s’en sortir vivant, tout en surmontant une attirance physique palpable. Il est donc logique que leur couple se base avant tout sur le sexe, comme une sorte de moyen de se rassurer et décompresser. Mais voilà, rien ne se passe comme prévu, alors qu’ils essayent d’en rester au purement physique, ils commencent tous deux à s’ouvrir et les sentiments pointent le bout de leur nez.
Par contre, bien que la romance soit très présente, ce n’est pas le cœur même de ce livre. C’est avant tout l’enquête qui réunit Teagan et Able, comment ils vont s’en sortir sans dommages, mais pas uniquement ! On découvre l’univers violent des assassins, leurs vies dans les ténèbres, la solitudes et le doute, pourtant certains sont proches et forment des groupes ou « familles ». C’est le cas avec le cercle de connaissances d’Able et on rencontre des personnages incroyables et plutôt atypiques qui titillent notre intérêt. Tous les membres sont différents, il y aussi bien des hommes que des femmes, avec des idéaux, des dons et des passés différents. On sent bien d’ailleurs qu’il y a une histoire entre deux d’entre qu’on hâte de voir davantage explorée !
No Good Dead a été une belle surprise pour moi, écrit de façon simple mais allant toujours droit au but. Il y a une facilité évidente dans l’enchaînement de l’intrigue, l’action ne ralentit jamais et il y a suffisament ce qu’il faut de scènes érotiques pour faire des pauses. Pourtant, tout cela était vraiment addictif, on a du mal à lâcher le livre une fois commencé. C’est donc avec très grand plaisir (et impatience) que je lirais la suite de cette série qui en mérite la peine !

Very happy I picked up this book. What a smashing start to a really great new series. I love the idea ...assassins turn their skills to helping people. Tegan is a tough cookie, even when everything around her was well outside her realm of experience. Able is my ideal book boyfriend. Strong, protective, edgy, and devoted to the woman who tangles her life up with him. I don't think the synopsis does the book justice. There's a lot more to the story than it leads you to believe. I picked the book because I wanted a quick sexy read. That's not what I got. Instead I got a book with some really good storytelling. The writing is smart and while the story might be out of the readers experience it didn't matter because the characters were well developed and they were believable. On top of that there is a great cast of characters to look forward to having their own story written. I will be waiting eagerly for the next book.

Oh I am so happy to have picked up a real good suspense romance novel! No Good Dead was intriguing and had you hooked from the get go! The corruption is everywhere you turn in this story. You really have no idea who to trust. I loved the fact that this book kept me on my toes. I was trying to guess every wrong on each page.
Teagan and Able met in a very non-traditional way. I mean being a spy, and a professional killer/contact is a way to go. But is that really who these characters are? I loved that we go into a journey with these two and find their true souls. Once the sheets got hot, it is like the other half of them were found.
You will get the crime fighting, and second guess who is in on it for the sake of good vs bad. There were a few moments in the book that I had a "shocking" moment with some of these characters you thought you could trust. If you are ready for a good suspense romance novel, No Good Dead would be the one to read next!

All I can say is wow..... This was an amazing read. High impact, loads of energy. The chemistry was off the charts. I couldn't this one down. There were a few grammatical errors but the didn't take away from the book at all.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review for netgalley. I enjoyed book, kept you interested thru out book. Able is a hired assassin, when someone tries to kill him on a job, he goes find out why he was targeted, and find out that someone is killing assassins. So the hunt begins, and he contacts his team. While locating the person they think is responsible, they foil the attempted murder of Teagan. Teagan is out for justice, for the murder of her beloved sister, and unfortunately is also being framed for murder. Able, and team rescue Teagan, and find out who is after them and why. Able and Teagan have a combustible chemistry, and the relationship begins, even though both of them think it is just sex, and that they wont get attached. This was a fun book, and you enjoy sitting in and reading to find out what happens next. You will also like the rest of the team of assassins, and now I want to know who is next in line-up for their own story. Can't wait.

Action, intrigue and steamy sex. What more could you ask for in a romance?! No Good Dead has all three and more. Able is the alpha assassin and Teagan is the civilian caught up in something that affects not just her, but him and his team. From their very first intense meeting clear up until the end, the sparks fly and the action is a great backdrop for all the steam going on.
No Good Dead seems to be set up as a series and I hope so, because I really want more from this world.

What a great read! This book is smoking hot from the very first page. You can't go wrong with an over the top sexy hitman lying on a rooftop with a Remington 700 takedown sniper rifle!

This book reminded me of the tv show "Leverage" = awesome!

I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about the characters' lives as assassins. The characters were really well developed and I loved them all. The relationships between the characters were all natural and there were some pretty steamy sex scenes. I can't wait to continue with the series.

Such a good read had me hooked right from the start and i could not put it down full of action and holds your interest just loved Abel and Teagan they had super chemistry such a good read would definitely recommend cant wait for the rest of the series

Able is an assassin and Teagan is trying to avenge her sister's death. In the end they work together and take down the corrupt politician, corporation and more. They distract each other and find they have absolutely hot, steamy undeniable chemistry. Can't wait to read more about Samson & Claire, if that is coming too.
