Northern California, 1996. Entertainment lawyer Katherine Marshall always thought time travel was a Hollywood invention...So how did she wake up in 1892, in the cabin of a handsome mountain man?

Northern California, 1892. Flynt Avery had never heard of anyone traveling through time. But the woman he called Kate could have come only from another era...

At first, Kate thought she had been sent to Flynt Avery to prove him innocent of murder and save him from the gallows. Then, in the soft firelight of Flynt's cozy cabin, Kate found herself thinking about more than justice...This ruggedly handsome man won her affection -- and stirred her deepest desires. But their love was bound by the rules of time, and soon they would have to choose between his live -- and their love...

Good But Too Long

The characters and the plot were good with the right mix of the supernatural thrown in, but it was way too long. She could have removed at least 4 chapters and it would not have hurt the story line. Somethings were also implausible like when the villain attempted to rape her while holding a rifle pointed at her. In my mind that would be hard to do. Also, it was never explained how he found her Spoiler Alert: in the 20th century at her office with no money and no means of transportation to get there. When I read the summary of the book it talked about a lawyer that goes back in time to save a man from being killed for a crime he didn’t commit. By the time I got to the last few chapters and it still had not occurred I was wondering if I had downloaded the wrong book. That part does happen in the last four chapters and was kinda weak. Like I said good, but I started skimming pages because it was waaaay too long.

Rounding up a bit because I did enjoy the story and was interested in what would happen. But the characters and action were a bit flat…there were a few times when events were described after the fact rather than experiencing things as they were revealed. Like reading a news report after than fact rather than the characters revealing events and reacting to them. The hero seemed very distant and simple initially and ends up being a bit more playful, which seemed more incongruous rather than just getting to know him better. Entertaining, just without the feels. I read this for fun because of the setting near Shasta when I would be in the area.

Outstanding 5+*

This amazing very well written time travel romance will keep you on the edge of your seat. Katherine travels back in time unaware that she is in the past. She is in the past to save Flynt Avery. Flynt was wrongly accused of a murder and Kate buts herself in danger to reveal the true murderer. Fascinating story and one that should not be overlooked.

Can't put it down!

another intriguing and clever time-travel by Sue Phillips. I enjoyed the romance and the descriptions of northern California. I finished the book in just a couple of sittings. In fact, I wasn't interested in anything else except Flynt and Kate's story!

When I first bought this book and started reading I was definitely hooked. I haven't read many time travel books and for some reason this one caught my eye. I was surprised at how I found myself immersed to a point that I was Kathern and who wouldn't want to be when she wakes to find a handsome hunk of a mountain man and realizes that for some reason she is in his mountain cabin. From then on the story takes you on an up and down ride in the form of anger, then respect, then a strong liking for each other and then, well, it doesn't take long that emotions go from like to sizzle. The story line is that she is a lawyer and ends up in the year 1892 and Flint, the mountain man is going to be arrested for murder. She feels that she was some how sent to help him beat this charge of murder. The book is also funny and sad but an engaging story and I would recommend all readers to give it a try. Thank you Sue Phillips for giving my imagine a very good time in the year of 1892. If only..........

Timeless Romance

Timeless Romance

I enjoyed this love story involving time travel. Characters were likeable and story line was good. Sexual content was tastefully done. The only complaint I have, it was just a little too long in places, other than that, a good read.

5 stars: The surroundings are well described; you can hear the river flow over the rocks, see the mist and smell the pine trees, feel the snow falling in your hair. The characters are detailed physically and morally. The editing is well done. The impact of the time-travel interesting. The story is well paced. The presence of the supernatural in the story is succinct. All in all, a good read.
