I give The Definitive Guide to Understanding Your Brain... 3 out of 5 birds. After reading The Coddling of the American Mind I wanted to read more on CBT therapy and found this one on the library app. It was a very quick read and there were somethings that I felt validated in and found helpful but overall it's more reading about another persons experience with depression and anxiety. Which is totally fine. But wasn't what I was looking for. The author is by no means an expert in CBT and so the information was below basic in my opinion. So three for trying, if you want to know you're not alone this is great, but as far as educated not so much.

While I appreciate the time the author took to put this book together it was incredibly basic and I already knew everything contained within. It was mostly common sense. I was under the impression this was written by a mental health professional.
