An interesting approach to mind and body health. Consists of breathing more, thinking harder, and being cold. I dont really know what else to make of it.

This is a brochure that summarises a basic knowledge required to understand the biological processes that WHM impacts. Then, it gives and overview of research done on Wim Hof and tries to explain it in context of other research. Not a very special form nor English level of the translator. Nevertheless, the book fills its role: gives strong scientific proofs on possible conscious impact on autonomic nervous system.

It is clear in reading this that the document was translated from Dutch to English. There are some typos and grammar issues. I was also disappointed to learn that the research was based on a glucose metabolism. There were even times in the document the author specifically said how inefficient the glucose metabolism is, but offers no alternative perspectives. The reader was left to draw his own conclusions based on the WHM’s effect on fasting states such as Ketosis and Lipolysis. It seems these metabolic states, from the research provided in this document, are far more favourable to the WHM than a glucose metabolism. In reading this, a potential research door was blown wide open. I hope to see more in-depth studies that extends this research to fasting states.

Wish it would tell more about how to actually apply the WGM (more than just briefly talking about the techniques). The scientific facts are welcomed though.

The techniques are effective. The book is poorly written. Breathing techniques lowered my resting pulse rate and cold water treatment helped with arthritis and aches and pains. Two years later still do the cold water. Need to do the breathing again. App helped, but only used the free parts.
