Silver Tip Pack #2

Chasing Destiny

Rate this book
Some live on memories…

Almost dying during a pack uprising has a way of shaking things up. I’m no longer Mr. Laid Back now that there’s an itch under my skin I can’t scratch.

On a volunteer mission that goes beyond the walls of our compound, we enter the territory of a pack long thought dead, and find ourselves on the business end of their spears.

What I’m not prepared for is what I find within their walls—The one shifter I never thought I’d see alive, the one I’d mourned twice, the one I’d always loved. He is alive, and if I have anything to do with it, he’ll stay that way. But he’s got secrets, and exposing them could lead us to an enemy worse than the bloodthirsty undead shifters wanting to kill us all…

Wow...this was really good, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I have been curious about Bay and his story, ever since he was introduced in book 1. He has been one of my favorits since the beginning...but I have to say that I have a new favorite right now. He goes by the name Nash ;)

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor you're my man + gif

I would advice everyone to not read this book as a stand alone, but to start with book 1. I think starting with book 1 will give you much more enjoyement of the story ;)

Bay is the brother of the Silver Tip Pack Alpha, Dare. I have always liked him a lot and I thought he was funny and the more relaxed one of the two brothers. But Bay isn't feeling so right at all. Losing your childhood friend and potential lover not once, but twice, tends to leave some emotional scars. Not the mention everything else that happend in book 1.

Bay needs a time out and he is itching to get away....he feels something pulling at him, something seems to be calling for him. So when there are rumours about the survival of Reese's (book 1) old pack, Bay sets out to investigate with two other pack mates.

Never in a million years, would he have suspected to come across his childhood friend Nash....who seems to have found refuge with the Whitethroat pack.

jaydenkiss GIF

This Nash isn't the same Nash he always knew though. This Nash seems not only physically broken, but mentally as well.

For 15 years Nash hasn't been living but surviving, but Bay isn;t ready to give up on him...or on them. He is so relieved to get another chance with Nash, that he will fight tooth and nail to make Nash happy again and to get him back with his pack where he belongs.

jaydenkiss GIF

Nash however doesn't think he deserved a place within his old pack. He has some secrets he's been keeping and he fears that Dare will kick him out once he finds out and that Bay will want nothing more to do with him.

into the wild GIF

This doesn't prevend him from getting closer to Bay though...because he just can't stay away from Bay and his intoxicating scent...

Damn these two were HOT together. This book is pretty high on the steamy side with a nice side of "dirty" thrown in :P

"Fuck if you could see yourself" "Sucking for all your worth, begging for my dick, for me to fill you up. You need me in your hole, don't you? You need my come more than your next breath."

crop output image

I totally understood where Nash was coming. Slowly he starts revealing everything that has happend to him. He shouldn't have worried about Bay though... The man was so loyal and so in love with Nash !!

"You're the destiny I've been chasing all my life Nash"

Heart-Actual-Animation-GIF.gif (985×554)

I absolutely loved this one....even more than I did book 1. It was heartbreaking, sweet, HOT, and it has the right amount of suspence. I really enjoy this series and I hope there will be many more books to come... I myself am hoping for Vaughns book... I would like to see him hooking up with the feisty alpha of the Whitethroat pack :P

4 Sequel Stars!

It’s really no surprise that this sequel to Daring Fate was a win, seeing as how I loved the first book. That means if you did too, then I’m pretty sure this will be very well received!

This starts off from where the last book ended, where we meet up with Bay - charming cheeky brother of alpha Dare, who’s on a mission to see if Dare's true mate, Reese, has any pack mates left. Fortuitously, he finds the Whitethroat pack alive and well but just barely surviving and hanging on by their claws. What Bay doesn’t ever expect to find is his long lost, thought to be dead, teenage love, Nash, who’s been seeking sanctuary with the Whitethroat werewolves. Unfortunately, what should’ve been a joyous reunion is mired in a less than enthusiastic response.

Nash. Poor, poor Nash. He’s had it so horrifically awful these past 15 years, and when Bay turns up out of nowhere, it’s his biggest wish come true, but a wish he doesn’t want fulfilled. He’s harboring a secret he thinks will destroy Bay’s love and the rest of his pack, and though he doesn’t want to, Nash tries to push Bay away. He should know better than that - Bay is not going to ever leave him again now that he’s found Nash.

The passion and want and desire Bay and Nash have for the other is the highlight of this story. I loved every single moment showing them together and basked in the claiming possession that these shifters indulge in. Eventually, Nash’s secret comes out and it’s quite a wondrous one, basically a game changer in this series. It takes awhile, but Nash slowly realizes his worth, that he deserves to be with Bay and return back into the fold of his pack. There’s just one crucial, harrowing, tough fight to win first in order accomplish that task.

What I like about this series thus far is the world building and that includes the shifter dynamics that it is steeped in. There’s a backstory that explains this bleak dystopian world this is set in and it’s not easy, it’s not kind. Sadly, it’s brutal and bleak, but also there’s hope and a drive to do what’s right despite everyone else clawing each other’s throats out for survival. Intermix this with all the shifter goodness one loves and you’ve got a compelling, majorly smexy storyline that can last ages as this world is slowly opened to reveal more and more. If only right?

Erickson did not disappoint, and I’m only sad that the next book isn’t here already to see how things continue to play out and evolve! Hurry please!

Man how I still love Bay. He's the perfect hero who doesn't give up on Nash even though he tries to push him away. I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Originally Read July 2017

Holy crap on a cracker! This book! I was really looking forward to Bay's story. It was more than I expected. It really kept me on the edge of my seat at times and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I enjoyed it more than the first one.

Bay is amazing. He will not let Nash turn away from him or run. He pushes and pushes. His only thoughts are to save and love Nash with all his heart. He does everything right in my book.

Poor Nash...when his captivity comes to light I felt so bad for him. I was so glad when Dare decided to take action for him. He was just a shell of his former self. He doesn't think he deserves anything. But Bay won't have it. He makes sure that Nash knows he is wanted and loved. He gets a nice surprise near the end too which made me happy.

I'm really looking forward to more in this series. Maybe there's a mmf pairing???? Hopefully...keeping my fingers crossed.

Megan Erickson,

The romance-

THE INTIMATE SCENES-

This story is what Paranormal Romance is all about.

Chasing Destiny is the second romance of Bay and Nash. From a young age, the two have always loved each other, but life has separated them twice causing Bay to mourn his mate twice. Unexpectedly Bay finds Nash again and vows never to lose him again. What ensues is a heartbreaking, raw love story.

What I loved:

-The intensity. When I think of shifters and romance, my mind immediately thinks of intense love and mating that is hot and dirty. That's exactly we got. I was swooning y'all! Their longing to be together and their attraction for one another...sigh. So freaken well written!!!

-Narration. I loved the way the narrative was broken down giving us readers an insight into their feelings of heartbreak, guilt, and love.

-Angst. It was there, and it was fierce without it being overwhelming.

-Nash and Bay were well fleshed out, and the secondary cast contributed to the plot without overtaking the story.

-The end. I loved how it all worked out and in turn made me anticipate more books from this dystopian shifter world Megan Erickson has created.

Can this book be read as standalone?Honestly, no. For best enjoyment, I think the first book should be read before this one.

I couldn't read this fast enough- it's unputdownable! It had it all:

-Cum play ✔
-Growly alphas ✔
-Scenting <-- I became a puddle of goo every. Single. Time. ✔
-Second chance romance ✔
-Friends to lovers ✔
-And an end that will leave you happy and looking forward to more! ✔

5 Stars!

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and the second didn't disappoint either.
Bay and Nash's story is very different, but not any less engaging. And if you think Reese and Dare were hot ... these two are down for the rough, raw and dirty (VERY dirty) non stop.

But that isn't all there is, by far! Nash's past has changed him, scarred him and made him who he is now. To be able to accept himself and step out of the shadows, he has to deal with what happened to him. Although the author did enough to leave me content with Nash's character development I would have appreciated more depth about how he came to terms with it all.

I will not spoil by saying anything else, only that Bay has so much patience and love, it really warmed my heart. He is a really loveable, very wolfy kind of character., and my hand was itching to scratch behind his wolfy ears... (YES, I know they are all wolves, but I loved Bay's whuffing and whining and nuzzling and sniffing and scenting .... )

I also really liked the way the plot expanded, giving a bigger picture of this world and what is going on in it, and where it is heading in general.
So, I am looking forward to the next one in the series, hopefully giving us Vaughn/Pace/Cati's story!

Recommended.

A brilliant tale that takes you on a rollercoaster journey, keeps your pulse-pounding, and leaves you exhilarated!

Chasing Destiny is book 2 in Megan Erickson's highly acclaimed and must read series, The Silver Tip Pack. This book, while "technically" could be considered a standalone - I recommend reading book one of the series, Daring Fate , first.

This review is going to be short and simple because I refuse to ruin any aspect of this series for readers. The Silver Tip Pack is set in a dystopian world where humans have been wiped out and shifters's rule the earth. There are three types of shifters: Werewolf (two forms, human/wolf), Were's (3 Forms, Human; four-legged wolf; upright wolf/ human hybrid), and Nowere's (undead zombie like were's stuck in their hybrid form). Intriguing huh? I love the creativity and epic world building that Erickson has put into creating this series!

This story follows a romance that has been blossoming for years. The two MC's have been torn apart over and over. Seeing the longing and love between these two, even as one of them is found broken, injured, and all but defeated; believing he would never achieve his destiny. Erickson brings him back with the help of a persistant were who refuses to give up on his beloved.

“You’re the destiny I’ve been chasing all my life.”

I loved the mystery and suspense that was woven into the romance. No, this isn't your typical shifter book, with a simple conflict/resolution. Erickson makes these characters work to achieve their happiness and then defend it regularly in order to keep it. I can't help but notice how this reflects real life in that relationships -- they take work!

“I’ll remember that for the rest of my life. What we just did. Because no one can take this from us again, you know? We did this, we loved this hard, and that’s all that matters.”

I would be remiss to not mention the sex. Afterall, who doesn't love a hot as hell scene between two strong men?!? Well, once again -- these guys get down and they get dirty! It is hot as hell! Loved every word!!

I highly recommend this book and series. You just can't go wrong with it. If you are not a fan of paranormal, I even recommend this book for you! Erickson has created and written a tale that won't be rivaled ~ it is a must read for all!!

Original review:

Chasing Destiny is another stunning addition to Megan Erickson’s already impressive dystopian shifter series.

The members of the Silver Tip Pack are back, with some friendly (and some not-so-friendly) new additions to this already great cast of bold, formidable and awesomely growly characters.

Here, the focus is on Bay and Nash – childhood friends and sweethearts, who were ripped apart over a decade ago after a horrible attack on their pack resulted in Nash being kidnapped and everyone else long-believing he was dead.

Finally reunited, Bay and Nash get a second chance at a future together they once thought was lost. But nothing is ever easy, and some serious shit has happened in the interim that has left both Weres – most especially Nash – still reeling from the negative effects of years of cruelly inflicted pain and heartache.

They have a lot of challenges to face and even more emotional baggage to overcome in order to embrace each other as rightful mates, but together they are always their strongest and they soon learn to trust that there is little they can’t overcome if they face their (scary-ass) world together.

I’ve got to give it to Erickson (again) for creating such a rich and brutal post-apocalyptic setting that is wholly terrifying and riveting in equal measure. This is possibly one of the best shifter worlds I’ve had the pleasure of becoming immersed in and I eagerly look forward reading more stories from this series in the near future.

Before I go, I must say that this one was outstandingly steamy! No surprise there of course, because all of the Erickson stories I’ve had the pleasure of reading have been deliciously sinful and epically erotic, but when she goes to town adding all the prerequisite sexy shifter tropes you just know shit is about to get real! This one had all the magic words I wanted to hear – over and over again – like suck, lick (soooo much licking), nuzzle, slick (whoa, boy!), bite, claim and mine…MINE, MINE, MINE!!! Gah! Seriously, when put to good use, there is no word I like better in my shifter reads than “mine.” Throw in some perfectly timed growling and some possessiveness and I’m all hands on deck!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! <3

For whatever reason I just don't LOVE this series like I do MEs other stuff. But I do like it. And I liked this one. It just didn't wow me. I didn't find myself dying to pick it up.

But Bay and Nash were likable characters. There was no drama. There was plenty of steam. All wins. So not sure what was missing for me.

Still a recommended series for sure. And I will continue on. I have a feeling Vaughn and Pace may be next!

5/5 - Holy dystopian shifter mating! This book was like crack to me. Sexy shifters, terrifying nowheres, tension so thick you can cut it, and a hot-and-cold but still very alive Nash had me flipping through these pages at warpspeed and I'm not even going to apologize for it. Yeah, it was that good.

I just. Yeah. I don't have words. I'm still trying to figure out what to say about this book. I guess to start with, I'll praise this entire series. I'll be honest, I'm very liberal with my stars. It's pretty easy to get a 4 star rating from me if I at least mildly like a book, which isn't usually an issue until I come across books like this that just leave all of the others in the dust. I really wish I could give this book 5.5 or 6 stars. I was skeptical when I heard that Megan was writing an M/M shifter series, but this has completely surpassed all of my expectations and raised the bar for shifter books.

So, like I said, I'm pretty picky about shifter books, and maybe that's because I spent waaayyyyy too many hours as a teenager reading shifter fanfiction. I literally read from about 9pm to 2am every night before I finally went to sleep. I still read my fair share of shifter novels and most of them fall in the 3-4 star range for me, usually more because of the relationship between the characters themselves than the execution of the shifter trope. But Erickson's shifters are the freaking bomb!

After I read the first book, I was so stoked to get my hands on this second novel. I loved Bay from the moment he was introduced in Book 1 and I was a little bit wary of how Erickson was going to write his romance, what with Nash being gone. I was prepared for a lot of heartbreak and hurt/comfort, and maybe a little bit of grimy realness. But I didn't expect Bay and his mate to be so hot-and-cold.

There were a few times that I had a hard time, because they were so back and forth about "I want you" and "now I don't" and "not right now" and "you don't understand" and "I missed you so much" that it just got a little bit exhausting, but in the same breath I can't praise Erickson enough for going for it. The romance between these two was intense and they had chemistry like no other (especially for not being destined mates), but their love was also a fight. And it had to be that way.

Bay had to fight to keep his mate and his mate had a lot of history to talk about and explain. There were a lot of questions that had to be answered satisfactorily for these two to work as a couple, and Megan pulled it off! I absolutely loved these two together and I was rooting for them right from the beginning. They had an intense kind of chemistry that burned under the skin and made them go crazy when they weren't around each other and you could feel that in every look and every touch.

Put simply, this is what shifter books should be. Equal parts chemistry, plot, history, development, and shifter details. I absolutely adore this series and I highly recommend this book, but if you haven't already, you need to start with the first one. You could probably get away with reading this as a standalone if you reeeaaaalllllyyyy wanted to, but there are details in this book that spoil the first one and there's probably some background knowledge in the first book that Megan just assumes you know by the time you open this one (mostly about Nowheres and all of the dystopian history shenanegans). This is highly recommended. I can't wait to get my hands on the third book.

I wonder who it's going to be about...

Another great installment- Nash and Bay finally reunited after 15 years apart. Torture, darkness and pain had swallowed Nash and he lived in a world of regret and guilt. Meanwhile Bay was never fully whole, missing Nash and wondering what ever happened. This was their story that slowly unfolded.

I really liked this second book in the Silver Tip Pack series. This one had a different feel to it than book one but was just as good.

This story focuses on Bay who is Dare’s brother. He’s the wise cracking and good natured one in their family but he’s struggling at the beginning of this story. Bay is grieving his second loss of Nash and he’s feeling restless. His were wants him to leave and look for something but he’s not sure what it is. As a result he offers to visit another pack to see if they can set up a trade pact. What Bay finds there turns his world upside down.

This story was more fast-paced and full of action than Daring Fate was. This one kept me on the edge of my seat from almost the beginning of the story. Bay and his pack mates are fighting other pack members as well as the zombie weres. (Can I just take a minute to tell you how much I love the fact that there are zombie werewolves in this series? Zombie! Werewolves!) All kinds of things happen and there are some shocking surprises.

The love story was also good. I love a good second chance story. I also love a good hurt/comfort story. Combine them together and I’m in reader bliss. Bay and Nash are just wonderful together and Bay is full of swoon worthy moments. Some of the stuff he says… *dreamy sigh*. These two are not fated mates as the couple in book one were, but they know they’re meant to be mates and their romance development was lovely.

I don’t have anything negative to say about this series other than the writer is not releasing them fast enough for me. This one hasn’t even been released and I’m already itching to get my hands on the third one. Looks like we know who the next book will be about but I’m not going to tell you. It’s going to be a big surprise.

What a great second installment to this series!! I loved this. I was eager for Bay and Nash's story since the end of the first book, and Bay was such an amazing character in the first book that I couldn't wait for him to get his happy ending.

I just fell in love with Bay more in this book, he has such a good heart, and he's adorable as well. I loved his determination not to give up on Nash, to stay by his side no matter what. Rarely are characters holding on the entire time in romances, they're always letting go at first before they realize they should be holding on. Not with Bay, who had found the love of his life after 15 long years of not knowing if he was alive or not.

I felt for Nash in this, who went through basically a literal hell, and his behavior made all the more sense once we were told what was going on with Nash and what he'd been through. I got to say he was frustrating me at first, but only because it was from Bay's POV and Nash was being so closed lipped about what had happened. But once we got his POV and learned the truth, I completely understood. And Nash didn't like being called a Hero, but he is, in every sense of the word. And I think with real heroism, someone never actually wants to be a hero, which means they do what they do because it is the right thing, because they're a good person, not for the glory of getting praise. Nash is that person, who didn't think what he did was heroism and actually thought he didn't deserve good things.

Took off .25 a star only because I felt that in the end, the taking down of the Alpha that lead the place that had captured Nash felt a little too easy? I mean they still fought, but I felt like the this big bad Alpha was taken out too easily for how much Nash was like "he'd be impossible to beat." With that attitude I expected a fight to the death - and well, the Alpha does die, and Nash helps get him there, but it isn't Nash himself who has to do it. Felt too easy. But at the same time, Nash had been through enough shit, so...it was nice he got a break. Still, the payoff of that climax could have been a little...more, is all.

I loved the ending, it was super cute, and also Nash's .

Now I'm wondering if the next book - where there has to be - will be about Vaughn and Pace? Or something? There seemed to be something there between them, but then there was some weird thing with Vaughn and Cati (mother of Dare's kid), so??? I'm confused haha. Guess we'll see!

In the meantime, read this if you enjoyed the first one as well because this lives up to the first, and is really an awesome read <3

With Chasing Destiny Megan Erickson continues to build a really cool (yet thank god it's not real) dystopian shifter world. Bay and Nash's story is definitely a worthy follow-up to Daring Fate.
For him, I’d do this. If not for me, for him. We’d both come back alive or I’d burn the world down.

First, if you haven't read the first book in the Silver Tip Pack series , go get it. Seriously - Erickson has created really interesting world building with fun-to-read characters. What are you waiting for?

Here Bay has never forgotten his first love. When circumstances bring them together again it's a fight to make his mate realize they are meant to fight any obstacle together, even if that obstacle is themselves.
I didn’t want to fuck it up. We had time now, a lot of it, because there was no way in fuck Nash would be alone again. He belonged with his pack and with me. As I held a trembling Nash in my arms and ran my hands down his scarred back, I knew I’d do anything I could do see him healed and whole and happy once again.

Chasing Destiny is a great ride, full of hurt/comfort, passion, and a terrific dual POV that shows the regret, loneliness, and longing both men have for one another.
“Why do you keep doing that? Why do you act like you don’t want to go home?”
Nash swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “I’m not sure. It’s just been so long. I’m not sure I have a home anywhere.” His gaze swept to me, and a slight smile twisted his lips. “Except when I’m around you.” He gripped me tighter, and warmth flared through me where his fingers pressed into my flesh. I inhaled deeply, wanting to wrap myself in his scent. He touched his temple to mine and I closed my eyes. “You smell like home, Bay.”

This series has been fantastic so far and I'm really looking forward to more!
“You’re the destiny I’ve been chasing all my life, Nash.”

4.5 stars***Spoiler Free Review***
Basically everything about this book could be a spoiler including who Bay's mate is. So I am going to be vague and make this Spoiler Free.

Bay, brother to the Alpha of the Silver Tip pack, has recently survived a traumatic ordeal and is still edgy and does not know why. He agrees to go on a mission to check out rumors about a pack that they thought was obliterated but may still have survivors.

But he never expected to find how own mate there. This other "Were" has been to hell and back, and has just been ins survivor mode. He is guarded, weak, still healing, and afraid. He is worried about his own lack of control, of his pull towards Bay. He has been conditioned to believe certain things that mess with his mind and make him wary of trying to settle into a pack. He feels damaged, unworthy, and can't really picture a future. He has secrets that he hesitates to share. But he has a strong need to be with Bay even though he has so many doubts and insecurities.

Bay is strong, smart, stubborn, opinionated, and he knows what he wants. He's tired of feeling loss, pain, and death. And this "Were" makes him feel whole and happy again, even if it makes him fearful when he can't seem to reach him and break down his walls. But he is willing to be supportive, patient, and understanding to help him heal. But he is also not afraid to challenge him and push him to want more. They have undeniable chemistry and a strong need both physically and emotionally.

But the only way for this broken "Were" to truly heal is to face his past, set things right, and maybe exact some revenge. He will have to learn to trust himself and his partner, conquer his demons, and find his purpose in life. But none of it is easy and all comes with the risk of disappointment, loss, or physical harm.

This was fast-paced, engaging, and full to twists and surprises. It has danger, mystery, suspense, action, passion, and humor. I loved this couple and getting both of their points of view in alternating chunks. I could feel their pain, need, and their strong bond, but they were also struggling with significant challenges, secrets, and emotional distance. Some of the events I did not see coming and there were some definite nail biting situations.

Even though I do not read many paranormal books anymore, I am hooked on these characters. The world building with the packs of werewolves, weres (hybrids), and deathly zombie-killing-machine-type-weres known as nowheres is intriguing and done well. I was glad to get more with Dare, Reese, Jude, G, Selene, Cati, Mav, Rua, and Vaughn. We also are introduced to some new and interesting characters along the way. I hope that there are more books coming in this series since there seemed to be a bit of a tease. I enjoy the closeness and bonds of the pack and sense of home and family they provide even in the ruthless world they live in.

Just as engaging and engrossing as Book #1 - this is no sophomore slump.

Nash and Bay are amazing together - their chemistry is off the charts hot - the sex is both tender and raunchy and there are lots of fluids abounding. The world development continues to grow with us getting a more fleshed out (no pun) picture of were/werewolf and the state of it all.

I’m telling you, I’m completely sucked in to this dystopian world that Megan created for her hot shifters. This is now the second book, and it’s about Bay and Nash. You’d have met them briefly from Daring Fate. Bay is Dare’s brother and Nash is Bay’s childhood friend who was ripped away from the pack. Don’t worry; it’s a standalone, although I don’t know why you’d wanna skip the first one. It’s a def top fave, just saying…

While this didn’t give me the same high as Daring Fate, this has all the right feels in all the right places. Unlike Dare and Reese from the first book who came from two different packs, you’ll learn that Bay and Nash has quite a history that was snuffed way too quickly due to circumstances. When their paths cross again, Nash is a changed man. Bay, on the other hand, just felt restless. When they met again, they can’t deny what’s always been there between them, just simmering. But the road back to each other wasn’t gonna be quite that easy.

It feels like this has more angst than the first book, and it made complete sense. Nash is a broken man who thought there was no trace of his old self in him anymore. It’s up to Bay to show Nash that his old self has always been there and that he deserved every ounce of love. What Nash went through, it squished my heart over and over. I love how Bay totally got Nash and gave him exactly what he needed which in turn got Nash giving back exactly what Bay needed. Not just that, They’re smokin’ hot together! Just saying…

And just like the first book, this got my heart pumping as the story unfolded until you reach the climax of the story. Quite a ride!

I’ve said this before about the first book and I’ll say it again. If you’re not typically a fan of PNR like I am, you have to give this series a shot at least. Megan’s always able to infuse her story with just the right amount of humor, heat and heart. She’s been doing that with her contemporary romances, and she’s doing exactly that with this PNR series.

A really good addition to the series, albeit a ridiculous amount of gratuitous sex.

Reread Jan. 31, 2018: Because the are so few really good MM shifter stories, I would have given this story 4.5 stars if not for the ridiculous number of sex scenes and all the baby crap at the end. Regardless, it’s still a really good book. Sadly I won’t be reading the next one as it’s MMF. No thanks.

EDIT: 3/8/2018 Rating removed for the author’s collusion with SH.

This one gets ALL THE STARS! 5+ Stars is barely enough to show my love for this book, and this series universe! Megan Erickson has created a post-apocalyptic world where no humans remain, yet still I can relate. A world where everyone has shifting abilities, or is undead, yet I can relate. A world where each character has to be open to the possibility of a true mate, that could end up being of either sex, and yet, I can relate. She is truly magical.

Bay is brother to the Silver Tip Pack alpha, Dare, who had his story told in book 1. They are a pack of Weres, beings who have 3 forms: human, werewolf (on 4 legs), and Were (giant wolf-human hybrid on 2 legs). Bay had been through a lot in the first book, both emotionally, and physically, and he needed a break. His brother's True Mate, Reese, is a werewolf, who's birth pack was thought completely destroyed by Noweres (undead Weres, turned into zombies by some sort of virus). But, when word comes to them that there might be part of Reese's pack left, trying to rebuild, Bay volunteered to go on a scouting mission. He leaves with 2 others in his pack, to see if the rumors are true. He never expected what he'd find, especially not the man he'd loved as a teen, and thought he'd lost forever, twice.

Nash is a mess. He's been near death so long, that he's not sure why he's still alive, and what his purpose still is on Earth. He loved Bay once, when they were just kids, but for the last 15 years, he's been a prisoner, with everyone who loved him believing him dead. Now that he's "free" he still doesn't feel safe to return to his home pack, so he's been recuperating within the werewolf pack's compound. After meeting up with Dare, Reese, and the others in Book 1, and seeming to sacrifice his life to protect them all so they could make it home, everyone thought he was dead, again. So, Bay is SHOCKED, and thrilled to find him alive. But Nash isn't the same boy he used to be, nor is he the man he likely would have turned into, had the last 15 years of misery never happened. He's not sure that he's still the one for Bay, as he is now.

Bay and Nash had a chemistry, love, and care for each other from the beginning, that can only come from someone you've known your whole life. Oftentimes, the 15 years they've been separated seemed like nothing but a blip on the radar, but other times it felt like a wall between them, nearly insurmountable. Nash was still keeping secrets about his time away, and Bay could feel it getting between them. Bay was determined to belong to Nash like he'd always planned, now that they had found each other again, but Nash was less certain. He was worried that if the whole truth ever came out about him, that he would never be able to go home again, and he certainly wouldn't be able to be with Bay. I loved watching Bay knock down Nash's walls, and plow straight through to his heart. The sexy times were also crazy hot, raw, and uninhibited, just as you'd imagine creatures like Weres would be with each other. I couldn't get enough of them together.

I loved the interactions between Bay and his alpha brother, Dare, just as much as I did in the first book. I loved seeing the rest of the Silver Tip supporting crew from book 1 as well, and I'm hoping the next book will be back in their compound, so we can see more of them all. The constant threat of death from the Noweres, among other things, caused me to be in a constant state of vigilance while reading, and it made everything a little scarier. It was so exciting, and I love the feeling of being on edge, and not knowing what might happen. Some of the major side characters in this one were so entertaining, especially Bay's packmate Vaughn. He's cocky, and sexy, and volatile, and I hope we get to see his story soon!!

I truly cannot recommend this book highly enough. I loved everything about it, and I think I have an inkling who the main characters might be in the next book, and if I'm right, then I am beyond here for it! I can't wait to see where Megan takes us next in this wild, sexy, scary dystopian universe. Bring it on!

Chasing Destiny is the second book in Megan Erickson's wolf shifter series, Silver Tip Pack. I would probably recommend reading book #1 first because you first meet both Bay and Nash in that one and I feel like it would give you a better feel for the characters. Chasing Destiny also starts right where book #1, Daring Fate, left off. Daring Fate was Reece and Dare's story and this one is about Bay (Dare's brother) and Nash. I was anxious to read this one as soon as I finished the first book. I couldn't wait for Bay's story.

Bay has never forgotten his first love. They were childhood friends and sweethearts, who were ripped apart over a decade ago after a horrible attack on their pack resulted in Nash being kidnapped and everyone else believing he was dead. When circumstances bring them together again it's a fight to make his mate realize they are meant to fight any obstacle together, even if that obstacle is themselves.

I absolutely love the way Megan Erickson makes you fall in love with her characters and really care about them. She does it to me every time. When we first met Bay in book 1, he was the charming, funny and relaxed of the two brothers. After all of the chaos towards the end of book 1, Bay is feeling shaken and restless. Mourning his lost love for the second time. And I really felt for Nash. He has a lot of secrets and isn't the same person that Bay knew when they were kids. His past has left him physically and emotionally scarred. He doesn't feel as if he deserves someone like Bay anymore and tries to keep his distance. This book was much more angsty than the first one because of the dark secrets that Nash is keeping, and the trauma he endured.

I love a good friends to lovers, second chance love story and when these two decide to give in to their attraction, their chemistry is explosive. They have some down and dirty scenes together, but the main focus is on the plot and dangers around them. I do have to admit that the sex scenes did seem a little repetitive after a while tho.

I couldn't put this one down. There were no slow moments and it was full of twists and surprises. I loved this couple and getting both of their points of view in different parts of the story. You can feel their pain, need, and their strong bond, but they were also struggling with surviving their current situations, secrets, and emotional distance. There were a few events I did not see coming at all and some definite nail biting moments. I ended up enjoying the first book just a little more than this one, but I still really did enjoy this one a lot. I can't wait for the next one in the series!

This is a great book, in a great series. It's like all the best werewolf stories, mixed with a health dose of The Walking Dead, with zombie weres and different settlements of weres and werewolves (two different things here!) fighting to survive, but also for dominance over other groups.

We met Nash and Bay in the last book, and I was so excited to read their story. Nash and Bay were childhood sweethears, when Nash disappeared, years ago. Bay lived on, but he never forgot his first love, and then, in book 1, to learn that Nash was alive all this time (but probably isn't now) just about kills him. But then they find each other again, and it's all about finding out where Nash has been all this time. The sex was so very hot, earthy, and in real life, I'd find most of it rather gross, but for some reason, I always love to read about it, even if I have no interest in doing it!

Highly recommended! 4.5 stars.

This one didn't grab me like the first book. It was a little slower and the stuff happening in the world fell flat for me. Maybe the romance a little too.

3.5 Stars

I had been waiting for this book to get released, maybe I was overly anxious or I've just read better books lately, this didn't really interest me as the first one did. I found myself skimming a lot, it's shocking.

I will be reading the next book of course, I hope it's about Pace and Vaughn.

A very fulfilling read after the first silver tip book .. I'll be honest and say that I love the first book mor but still this is a really really lovely read filled with romance and hot, intense sex. I can't wait to find out more about lives in silvertip pack .. especially Vaghun and Dal .. As always, I do appreciate Megan Erickson's work. ❤️❤️❤️

Nash' s story was sad because of the young adulthood he was cheated out of and the torture he had to endure instead. Bay never gave up on Nash and the love they developed starting with they were adolescents, heartbreaking but fulfilling love story. Plenty of steamy scenes to go along with it!! I hope to read more from this series, especially Vaughn story. :-)
