Falling for the Babysitter

Rate this book
My next door neighbor is a single dad. A very, VERY hot single dad.
And he wants me to be his babysitter.
I could use the extra money so that part's easy. What's NOT easy is the fact I've had a crush on Deacon for years. He never knew, and it never mattered. I was too young then.
But I'm not now.
He looks at me like he wants to rip my clothes straight off. His brother hates me, though--thinks I'm no good, just another woman trying to wreck Deacon's life. If he catches us together, he'll probably throw him AND his cute daughter out on the street just to prove a point.
I can't let that happen.
But after seeing Deacon shirtless... noticing how stiff his whole body gets around me... I'm not sure I can keep resisting.
Or if I even want to.
This is a standalone novella with a HEA and NO cheating!
Penny Wylder writes just that-- wild romances. Happily Ever Afters are always better when they're a little dirty, so if you're looking for a page turner that will make you feel naughty in all the right places, jump right in and leave your panties at the door!

"I want her. I want her more than I’ve ever wanted anyone before. I need to claim her. She has to be mine."

Seriously ladies before I even delve into the actual book content, Let's all take a moment to enjoy this book cover. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Sweet baby Jezus that is one amazing cover! And absolutely PERFECT FOR THIS BOOK.

Now for the down and dirty with the naughty bits.
The hero, Deacon, has been married before and has a baby girl. He is one very hot sweet sexy lustmuffin (going to totally copyright this). He is all about his child and keeping her safe. That is until he is reintroduce to our worth heroine Rémy, who is to babysit his sweet little angel.
He is drawn to her and knows she is a keeper and worth the risk to his newly balanced life. He dreams of her and plans to claim her for himself.
He tell her
“Holy shit, I’ve never felt a cunt so tight. You’re killing me, girl. I don’t think I can hold it in much longer. I’m going to fuck my seed right into your womb.”

description

Usually, I'm the first person playing the SHE IS JUST 18 song.
YES, She is young.
However, in this particular case I must declare that she is one of the most mature 18 year old I have ever encountered fictional and real.
And I should admit, in the spirit of full disclosure, that I have an 18 year old daughter and she is nowhere near this mature.
When she offers to help him not only raise his daughter but to help him with his custody battle, she shows her true maturity.
I was impressed. And that doesn't happen very often.
description

I won't tell the whole story but it was nice that the author offered an extended epilogue a year later to see how everything actually turned out for them.
It was short but sweet.
description

Now, I wonder if his control freak brother Sam has or will get his own story?
He was a very interesting and multi faceted character.
I would love to know more about him.
Hint hint wink wink Ms. Wylder.

Look at this book cover! Just look at this cover :D

Maybe it is time to have another baby....
Just thinking..
maybe....

Nah...two are enough

The story itself is cute and sexy.

I can understand the appeal of falling for a single dad - although I never had this fantasy, not even when I was younger and single.
Yeah but still, young good looking men who are holding children are definitely hot.

I can also understand the appeal of wanting to get pregnant when you are really young and you are absolutely sure you have found the man you will spend your rest of your life with – although when I was 18 I only wanted to study, to travel to see the world and to party.
Yeah but still, I suppose, when you meet your special someone your priorities change.

The story is complete, with its happy ending, its epilogue and everything.
If you join author’s emailing list you can even get an extending epilogue with our extremely happy main characters having a happy birthday party.

IT'S LIVE!

**ARC received in exchange for an honest review **

** 3.5 stars **

Another short, steamy read from Penny Wylder.   I will be honest and say at first I was apprehensive because -

1- he was married and had a child with another woman (even though he didn't love her and was miserable)

2- the heroine had crushed on him and had to watch him go off and start a life with the ex

However, my concerns were unfounded.

Deacon was 12 years older than Remy.  When he went off and got married,  she was 13 and he was 25.  There was nothing between them but a childhood crush on her part. So it wasn't like it was a mutual crush or there was an opportunity for anything to come of it.  Now that he is back,  that same crush is lingering,  but now she is 18 and he actually is noticing her.

~hot older sexy hero who is a great dad (so sexy)
~younger heroine who has loved the hero since she was 12
~no pushing away
~steamy sex scenes (he was very vocal that he wanted to get her pregnant from the get go )
~OM  drama - none
~OW drama - very minimal and it did not cause any problems with the couple
~epilogue was ok.  it was about a year out and i would have liked it to be a further look into their lives

**I'm curious if Deacon's brother Sam will get a storyline.  I felt a lead into one during the epilogue. .....I hope!

The story's cute. Also the H and h together. I just didn't like some parts at the first half, nothing between them. Just thoughts about the past.

The story is about Deacon and Remy.

He's used to be her neighbor but he sold it to his brother after he got married. Now, he's back, divorced and a single father.

Remy just finished high school and was happy to know Deacon's back and single again. She had the biggest crush on him since she was 13. She even tried to get his attention but because she was still a kid, he didn't notice her that way.

He needed a babysitter for his daughter, Bailey and her mom volunteered her for the job.

They're so cute together. I liked that they didn't let anyone get between them. And even though she's still young, I never felt she's immature. In fact, she's a mature one who stood by his side no matter what.

It has a nice epilogue but you need to sign up for the author's newsletter.

Love Penny Wylder!!

This is a quick-paced (quick read) age-gap instalust read that has a HEA!

Deacon was Remy’s neighbor and age had always had a crush on him. Then he up and got married and sold his house yo his brother and she was heartbroken.

Now some time later, he moves back and ends up moving in with his baby girl, Bailey, who Remy ends up babysitting. One thing leads to the next and you have steamy smutty smut!! And a HEA!

This book has:
- virgin h
- 12 year age gap
- first time sex with no condom
- instalust
- dirty talk
- exhibition
- voyeur

4 steamy stars!!

3.75 Stars. I'm rating purely on a smut scale here. This book stalked me on Facebook for a week, so I gave in to power of advertising and downloaded a copy.

Falling for the Babysitter is an insta-everything smutty little read. If you're like me and enjoy quick filler books that can be read on a lunch break or in between other books, this may be for you. Just keep in mind this isn't an epic love story with extravagant plot or character development; it's a quickie ;)

This sounded so cute. Then I read it.

One dimensional characters.

Tropey.

Insta-love.

Sex scenes are clinical: insert tab A into tab B with anatomically correct terms. Oh yeah.

The h has been in love with the H since she was 13, and pretty much stalked him until he married and moved away. Her mom's house is right next door to the H's brother. She's never even said hi to the brother and just doesn't understand why he doesn't like her when she's hired to be the baby-sitter after the H gets a divorce. It wasn't great, but it was okay until we got to this point....

The H is attracted to the nubile, 18 year old that obviously has the hots for him. He thinks back to when he first met his ex-wife, the mother of his daughter, and knew it could be a problem when she offered him oral sex within the first hour of their date. And it goes on. He marries her anyway as he is at a loss. According to the h, he's a stud-muffin so he has to settle? If he's that stupid, then who cares about him or the too young to know better h.

Seriously into DNF/Skimming mode. It's bad when you want to read MORE about the adorable plot moppet or find out if the h's mother actually gets to go to Europe.

The problem with this book was that there was Zero chemistry. This is a short story of a man with a baby (the baby was there as a small sub-plot, he could have just been an older man who used to live next door.)

*******Mild spoilers ahead**********

So this teenage girl used to pine after this man who went off and got married to a woman he didn't even love..... blah blah BS.

Within minutes of meeting this teenage girl again, this man is sporting a hard on. He is already thinking about claiming and owning this girl. This girl he hasn't seen since she was a skinny little girl.
I would have believed in the attraction if he had spent a few days with her, got to know her rather than just getting hard for this girl who's been hired to babysit his child. Seems like he's just dying to get some since he's been single for a while.

His brother Sam is annoying, getting up in his brothers business warning him about this girl. A girl he himself does not even know, although he has lived next door to her for years.

This story is weak and I could not buy into the insta-lust and Deacon wanting to get this teenage girl pregnant.
It would make more sense to me if this man had some money too but no he's got a regular job and lives in his brothers house. So he's going to tie this teenage girl down with 2 small kids while he goes out to work everyday. What about her future? Her career?

Some of the dialogue was awful too. Here's a sample, "Holy shit, I've never felt a cunt so tight. You're killing me girl. I don't think I can hold it in much longer. I'm going to fuck my seed right into your womb."
WTH, fuck my seed into your womb. What kind of trashy erotic crap is this.

These erotic romance novellas are just being written in a hurry and churned out quick to make easy money. Readers are paying for these stories and the author could try a little harder to write something a little more realistic or believable. Add an actual plot instead of using a baby or ex wife as a sub-plot.

3.5 stars. This was my favorite by Penny Wylder. I actually felt the connection between these characters and felt that they really wanted and needed each other. These two actually seemed perfect for each other in every way.

HELL YEAH THIS COVER *extinguishes ovary fire*

Sweet insta love story between Deacon and Bailey.
Bailey has always loved Deacon from afar. He's 12 years older than her and she doesnt give up on him even when he gets married and moves away.
Many years later when he moves back with a kid, she becomes his babysitter and the attraction becomes bilateral.
TBH I didnt feel it much. Their attraction felt abrupt and awkward, and I had serious issues with Sam.
Always adore the breeding.
Not safe
Loved the cover too!

Well this was one where real life thinking got in the way of the read.

Remy had a huge crush on Deacon but was way to young for him to notice her. It has been a few years and she has grown up and he has been married, divorced, and become a single dad. He moves in with his brother for a time next door again to Remy. Her mother suggests her to babysit his daughter and she accepts. From her old feelings that never went away to him looking at her as a woman they fall.

I think my problem was that he was single dad but the baby seemed like background. Not to mention that some of the things she did was less about care for the baby and more about seducing the father and getting him to see her as a grown woman which turned me off the story. I also lost some feelings for the hero thru the book too. Little things kept taking away the enjoyment and it wasn't as cute or sweet by the end of it. So for me it was a issue with how everything was played out that I didn't like it very much.

cute & steamy read. its rather short and if you're into insta-lust/love, pick this one up.
loved the connection between Deacon and Remy, plus Remy had been crushing hard on Deacon since young. but sadly, she had to watch Deacon marry his ex because she's too young at that time. now that Deacon is back in the neighbourhood, Remy takes up a babysitter job at his house.

3.5 stars for me. it's a nice filler book in between your work!

Before anything else, that cover can make you pregnant. It'll cause ovaries to explode. Because hot damn! Would you just look at that?! Ohgawd!!! So yeah, I need to make this review real quick before I dissolve into a puddle...

Okay, aside from the cover, I came across some reviews raving about this novella. Naturally, I went crazy with wanting to read this. Because, once again, how can I not after just looking at that cover?

Unfortunately, the story just didn't work out for me. It was smutastic and all's good on that front. Although I cannot argue the insta-lust angle, the fact that Deacon knew Remy since she was a kid just didn't sit well with me. (Yes, I can and will be a prude if I want to be.) It's just a simple no. And Remy? What exactly were her plans with her life after high school? I just could not connect with her character, was too disappointed with how she was written.

I finished this read because 1) it was a quick one, and 2) I was hoping it would get better. But meh, it didn't. It got worse. Ugh.

Heroine was technically a virgin but she almost went all the way with her ex and she is pro at giving head. Lame and it didn't make sense. Plus no real chemistry. Waste of my time.

Please tell me that all the people who actually rated this novel with more than 2 stars are Computers... please...

I can't even...

argh

Anyways, I disliked our heroine. She was super judgmental. And that was funny because she then went on complaining that others were being overly judgmental... Seriously??

Plus, she basically told all the ladies with A cups out there that they won't ever get a guy. Wow. Thanks hon. I mean wth. She tells us that she is so glad she has finally grown up and that she is now the kind of woman who stops men in their tracks. omg. Meaning that what ? All those who do not have C cups are unattractive??

Yeah then there is her infatuation with her neighbour. It all began when she was 13. I must admit her behavior back then was very stalker like. She basically had no life because she had to watch her hot neighbour. Really??!!

Okay and then of course she turns 18 and has no other aspiration in life than babysit and end up as a mom herself. I am now being judgmental. True. Nevertheless, it made me angry to see her that way. I am left wondering whether that's everything she will need for the rest of her life.

Our Hero?
is definitely not that.
I cannot believe that a guy is that irresponsible.
Insta Love? Hey I am all in. But only if there is some safe sex involved and only if the characters have had some actual quality time together that involved them getting to know each other. Not the case here.

It is simply naive for her to trust him like that and super irresponsible of him to screw his 18 year old babysitter after knowing her for some 48 hrs.

And the whole job thing?? wow... wow.. wow. He has had the job for not even a week and takes time off to screw someone???!!!!

noooooooo

Oh yeah and the baby??!! Trust me that could have been a cat.
Not once was the baby anything but an angel. Very authentic. Haha.

I enjoyed this read & the premise of a younger girl who has always crushed on an older guy... who finally notices the woman she becomes is a good one. I like when the girl gets the guy she's always wanted.

The sex - as always with P-Wyld - is hawwwt enough to burn your eyes & clench your thighs.

For me this read wasn't as captivating & enthralling as her other books, but I think that is totally about me and my growing struggle with 18yr old virgin heroines who want to be pregnant immediately. I'm not judging, that totally does it for some, but it's just not my deal.

I enjoyed this, I was really wary going into this book because H had an ex and a baby, but honestly, it was really enjoyable, it didn't bother me much that he was married once before because it was clear he wasn't "in-love" with his ex, he was just a really decent man, who took his responsibilities in full stride.
I know a lot of people might be turned off that he was with the another woman when the heroine was pretty much in love with him, but, remember that the h was JUST IN HER PRETEENS and he was in his mid 20s!! So, thank Pete there was nothing between them. In present the H is in his 30s and h is 18.
Heroine was nice and really loved kids. Good chemistry between the characters and the sex scenes were pretty darn hot.

One complain of mine is that, we had to subscribe to the writer's Newsletter to read the epilogue which was kind of disappointing because the epilogue was really short and nothing special, cute but just mediocre. I expected a little bit more tbh.

By far and away one of the dumbest books I have ever read. No plot to speak of, no build up of the story.

Teen age girl has crush on older neighbor. He goes off, gets married. Comes back, divorced and with a kid. Wife left him because she wanted to party.

Said teenage girl is now an 18 year old. He is thirty. He needs a baby sitter. She still has a crush. Now he notices her and decides he is in love with her. They have sex, she of course is a virgin, they have unprotected sex, she gets pregnant by a guy 12 years older than her. Mother doesn't care. The brother does but only because he thinks she is like the ex-wife and will take him out of his life again. They move in together after 2 months but of course she is pregnant. Ex-wife shows up, demands custody. They get married in a week, and then have to go to court for custody. Ex-wife is a no show, she left the state. They get full custody. Pretty much sums up this book. Don't read it! The characters have no depth, they basically meet, fuck and then get pregnant. Whole point of this story. Thankfully is was a mercifully short read but if it had been longer maybe it would have had time to actually have the characters have a meaningful relationship and personalities.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

The blurb was so intriguing, but I think my expectations were a bit high.
It's a short read so it's natural that it all happens so fast.
But this was way to fast for me. I wanted to enjoy the beginning a bit longer to them really making a bound instead of this so fast.
That way I would've liked it more or maybe loved.
I was so looking forward to this one, a hot single daddy who needs a babysitter who happens to live next door.
There is an age gap of 12 years. That didn't bother me because love is love.
Penny Wylder is great in creating a wonderfull short story.
But this one just wasn't for me.
A thing that bothered me a bit

Don't let my review stop you from reading it.
Maybe you'll love it.

Deacon and Remy are such a great couple. He was her girlhood crush. He is 12 years older then her. He needs a babysitter and she jumps at the chance to be closer to him. Not once does he act superior to her because of the age difference. Nor does he try to embarrass her for her crush on him when she was younger. He is a gentleman through and though. With a fabulous naughty side

Remy is more grown up at her age then most middle aged people. All she's ever wanted was her dream man, Deacon, and her dream family. I thought the way she handled herself in a tight situation was very comdenable. I very much enjoyed these two together. It shows age really doesn't matter as long as you follow your heart.

Wow-This was NOT my cup of tea.
There's suspension of disbelief and then there's a bunch of idiots knocking each other up.

I really hate rating a one star. Is it better to not rate a book? I don’t want to screw up the average because maybe it’s just me. If anyone has the answer, let me know!

"He's looking at me the way I'd always wished he would when I was younger."

Nothing like a life-long crush becoming a whirlwind romance!!

Remy had been pining over Deacon for years, and now that he's back in town, and she's finally old enough for him, she wants the chance. But will he even notice the woman she has become?

Deacon just got out of an awful marriage and is now a single father. Needing a babysitter, he calls on the one girl he knows and trusts. But she's not that little girl anymore. She's grown, hot as sin, and he can't get her off his mind.

"I want her. I want her more than I've ever wanted anyone before. I need to claim her. She has to be mine."

This was a quick and sexy read full of passion and love. It teaches us that no matter the time, or age, love happens when it's right.
For Remy and Deacon, life had to teach them a few lessons first;)

Great read!!!

"I...I think I've fallen for you."
"You finally caught up. I fell for you long ago."
