Chloe has spent her whole adult life running, with no one to lean on, so she’s more than a little wary of Moose, after all why would he be interested in her? He’s a successful businessman and she’s just a small town girl.

So now she has a crazy ex stalking her and a hot fake fiancé moving in and she’s not quite sure how to deal with either of them. This delightful romance was absorbing and enthralling. Chloe is the product of her upbringing and the mistakes she has made have been the result of lack of education rather than poor judgement. Nevertheless, when her mistakes come to visit, Chloe is terrified, knowing just how threatening they can be. Enter Moose, the overgrown teen-man who like a fully grown Newfoundland puppy barrels his way into Chloe's life, all smiles and exuberant exploits, bearing over-the-top gifts and taking the treat she throws him by snapping up the challenge to be her fiancé when she needs the cover. While Chloe is cautious about the new engagement of convenience, Moose is more than happy to play the part, trusting that while he has the opportunity, she will come to trust him. Protecting Chloe becomes the most important part of Moose's life, especially when the crimes against her escalate. However, Chloe's upbringing makes it hard for her to trust Moose, and he has to realise that his overt charm is not always the answer. I loved the characters in this book, the people of the town and even the Chloe's prospective mother-in-law, who like Moose, just couldn't help herself. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Another enjoyable read by Monique McDonell.

What I really like about her stories is that her heroes are good guys, and Moose (excuse me, Tom, of course) is no exception. He reminds me a bit of a (very) overgrown Golden Retriever puppy in his enthusiasm and somewhat hyper-ness. (And to be honest, some of the stunts he pulls would seriously creep me out... but hey, it's fiction, and grand gestures are in character for him. :) )

With her background, I find Chloe a likeable, if slightly complicated heroine who tends to waffle a bit too much for my taste - though that is absolutely in character, too.

There were some editing / proof-reading issues (Kindle version), but nothing too distracting.

It's not my favourite of the series, but it sure has its moments (Elvises! Parent invasion!), and I enjoyed the story nonetheless. Looking forward to reading more books both in this series (#6 is already on my Stack of Unread Books, and I preordered #7) as well as by this author in general.

A fun, heartwarming, second chance at love, intriguing series that's just perfect to spend the time reading. Best sequentially, but not necessary.

Any Way You Slice It #1 - Wish I could have read these books in order, but it doesn't matter. A well thought out romance with realistic dialog and characters and an interesting, entertaining plot. Any more would be spoilers. This series is more substantial than a lot of this genre.

Any Way You Fight It #3 - Second chance at love. Another well written, funny romance with interesting characters and an entertaining plot. I can't say more or it would be spoilers. I enjoyed reading this series.

Any Way You Want It #5 - If you enjoy S. Claflin and T. Pedersen, you'll love McDonell, too! It's the first chapter and you're already laughing and rootin' for the good guys. A well written, fun-filled romance, this time with Chloe and Moose. My second story by this author and now I want to read them all. Moose is my favorite male character.

Any Way You Build It #6 - A well-written, fun, exciting, clean romance. I had to finish it in two sittings; work, a four-letter word, interrupted me. It was complete, but I believe there's more to the story. This is the first story I've read by this author, but I've got another one ready to go from Amazon. I asked the author if I could review this book.

Any Way You Spin It #7 - Another second chance. Another well written, heartwarming romance with interesting characters and a realistic plot. None of these books are repeats, but interesting, fun books on their own, just a piece of a larger picture.

Any Way You Like It #8 - Another heartwarming, humorous, intriguing second chance romance in one of my favorite places with some of my favorite characters. This complete series is well written with well developed characters with realistic dialog and no stupid formulas, along with interesting and intriguing storylines. While complete with humor and bad guys, these books are substantial pieces, not fluffy junk. This is my second favorite, which is actually hard to decide on since all the books are favorites! There's also a preview of the book, Something of a Spark.

(2.5 stars) - has good moments but it's kind of a slog

There's a fair amount of stereotyping & wishful thinking in here & it resulted in a frustrating heroine who needs psychological help but doesn't get it, and a secular saint of a hero with a not particularly believable obsession with the heroine in a relationship suffering from paternalistic overtones.

*Clean romance level: after returning to her previous level of sweet romance content, the author is again delving into "above the waist" details of the couple's intimacy. Stick to the romance & leave the graphic intimate details for the porn mags & erotica
*Religion: secular in form and in perspective on other forms; takes the Lord's Name in vain, including cursing, unfortunately
*Language: minor amount of swearing with d*mns & h*lls

Wonderful story. I love the continuity of this series. I'm looking forward to more. The stories begin well when read one right after the other and you don't feel like you're taking a course, learning names, etc. You just get right into it! The characters are familiar and mostly very sympathetic and they seem like familiar friends. Tom, especially, was amazing. It's like going home again at the start of each book. And the endings are satisfying as well. I will definitely stay with this author.

Gentle moose

I'm so in love with moose. He knew she was no so experienced and she had a story even though he didn't need it. When chloe told her ex that moose was her fiance that was perfect for him to get to know her and convince her he was the one.

Fun story.

Chloe and Moose (Tom) is a fun love story. Oh there is some other emotions, fear, laughter, anxiety etc. But the story also made me stop and think. How a young woman would feel after the childhood she had. You need to read.

This was cute and had the bones for a really good story, but it didn’t quite reach its full potential. Tom and Chloe were great characters, but needed some depth. The ending felt rushed and could have used a bit more. Overall, I’m glad I read it.

Another fake fiance

How the female characters end up with fake fiance's are quite interesting. How each story has unfolded show love at first sight can be real.
