Oh wow! This is deep in so many ways, strong emotions on both sides. Raw pain so deep it affects how they think and feel about themselves, one thinks he is a monster and she thinks she has a demon inside trying to take her over. How badly people have them, used and abused. When they meet you can almost sense their souls reaching out to a kindred spirit. Where one is more dominant the other is submissive, but even in that they sometimes switch a little as they get to know each other. With lots of twists and some suspense and intrigue this book definitely had me hooked tight and didn't let go, I just wanted to read until the end but life got in the way so it took me a bit longer than I wanted. If you like a story that has a bit of everything including hot sexual content, then this is the book for you, no cliff hangers and though it is the second book in this series I do agree that you don't have to have read the first book even though I had. I must say that I have read quite a few books by Lauren and have loved them all but these do have a much deeper feel, the subject matter and the characters themselves have a fair amount of issues that all play there part in this. I do love books that have a bit more content and this does, Lauren just gets better with every book she releases though how you can improve on fantastic I don't know.

Lauren Landish does it again! This is a fantastic book that has multiple stories going on which I found interesting and exciting. There are so many twists and turns, that I didn’t know what was going to happen until the very end. Rafe is super alpha while Shawnie was so strong after every thing she had been thru. There is some BDSM but its tasteful. Rafe found what he was looking for when he wasn’t even looking for in Shawnie and she found her man in Rafe. The dual POV is great. This is one story that I really enjoyed. Lauren Landish always writes such great stories so I cant wait to see what she has next.

I started out liking this story but as time went on it got a little bit unrealistic. But the thing that bothered me the most was trying to claim the twins were walking at 4 months old??? Hahahahahahaha! No.

Shawnie is possessed by the trauma and guilt from her past. Rafe is convinced that he is monster unable to love others.
Both Shawnie and Rafe have had unimaginable things done to them in their lifetimes. Each of them are coping with the damage that has been done to them in different ways.
Rafe’s a perfectionist, domineering professor who is a control freak in all aspects of his life and expects perfection from those he surrounds himself with. Shawnie releases her anger and guilt by subjecting herself to humiliation and degrading sexual encounters with strangers.
He has to control everything, she feels completely out of control.
Shawnie starts out as Rafe’s TA for the term, but he quickly sees that this job is a waste of her brains and abilities, so he invites her to join his top-secret, government funded aeronautics team. He sees so much potential in Shawnie, but he also sees her darkness and despair and is afraid of what happens when she loses control of herself.
The intensity between these two characters is unbelievable. Rafe and Shawnie are both such deeply damaged people, that they fear that a ‘normal’ relationship will never be possible for them. But maybe they don’t care about being normal after all. If they love each other, can start to enjoy life and can help each other heal, what else matters?
Both of them are engineering geniuses and destined for great things in their field of research, but due to their extra-curricular activities at some high-end sex clubs, they are both vulnerable to blackmail and threats from a man with information that could destroy them both.
If Rafe has to choose between publicly revealing his dirty, dark side or protecting his Angel, what choice will he make? Will Shawnie ever feel worthy of Rafe’s love or will she continue to self-sabotage and destroy her life by allowing the demon insider her to take control?
Dark, intense and very sexy romance with lots of graphic sex and BDSM. Except for discussing her past trauma/assault, all sexual encounters are consensual.
Possible triggers: Several references to (not graphic details) of sexual assault and torture that the heroine endured in the past.

Another dark and steamy read from Lauren Landish. You know Shawnie from Off Limits but this is her story. What a tragic and dark, twisted story it it. Her demon takes off. But Rafe, oh my can he handle her. The Professor known as an Suicide needed a TA. Once look and chat with Shawnie and he was done. He has his own issues that he has to deal with.
This was a story with some dark times but to see how Rafe helps Shawnie and the other way around was refreshing. It wasn't just a hero complex for Rafe.

Crazy, over-the-top, "outlandish" plot. The story had everything thrown into it, along with the kitchen sink. It's like the author tried too hard. For all of the MCs' problems, and even though the heroine was getting therapy, they both came across shallow. The author didn't give me anything to endear them to me. I couldn't put my arms around them and start caring for them. Lost patience and DNF.

Another thinking woman's dark, smexy, steamy read

This book is not for the faint of heart. I think Ms Landish had even warned that this would be a dark and torrid ride through he lives of this h and H.
Once again she did not disappoint.
So I've had a girl crush on Landish books ever since the Secrets & Lies trilogy found its way onto my Thinking Women's Smexy reads list and this is another example of great writing.
This book takes you into the freakish world of a PTSD survivor, two if you think about it, but not in the way you would EVER, EVER imagine. He saves her and she saves him right back...aaaaw!
This is a must, must read.

Lauren has done it yet again. This book had me drawn in from the very beginning. Shawnie has had a tough time coming to a happy place in life since being kidnapoed and torchered. She's escaped part of it by moving away from Georgia, but she still has that inner demon that she fights with. Rafe has had his own struggles in life with how he was raised, but he sees Shawnie in a way that he's never seen anyone else before. He's determined that he is going to help heal her and make her believe that she's the angel he sees her to be. Even with some against them, they fight hard to overcome their monsters and to be the best they can be for themselves and each other. I'm so very happy that I voluntarily received a advanced reader copy of this book.

Firstly I loved the fact that shawnie's best friend Abby was mentioned (off limits bk 1 ) although that book doesn't have to be read it introduces the characters.
Abby & shawnie were kidnapped drugged & sexually abused the man responsible is now in prison he also abused others before getting caught.
Rafe is a professor who has high demands for his assistants after dismissing another one the headmaster insists he hire his own asap & gives him 3 possibles. shawnie becomes his assistant he spots something in her a need, can he help her? Abby has demons & rafe has a secret can they trust each other to heal & move on ?

Conflicted
The book was good in the sense that it depicted shawnie struggle and how she coped. But what it didn't have were the what ifs and why like what did Mr.Robinson stand to gain? Not to mention towards the end everything was rushed at least that's how it felt to me. And even though this was Shawnee story I felt like Abigail could have been mentioned more or at least as much as Shawnee was in Abigai's story. Then there the whole rafe and counselor thing I understand the complications but the story short of blurred in trying to distinguish themselves apart and how they played a role in shawnee life. It started off promising but towards the end it left me blank and confused.

4-4.5 Stars! This was a really good book! I felt so bad for Shawnie & everything she had been put through! A few parts are a bit unrealistic, but it is a fictional book! I really liked how this book switched chapter by chapter from Shawnie to Rafe's point of view! This book was exciting and had a few twists, turns & surprises!! It has a few scenes involving BDSM but nothing too outrageous-it was all very tasteful! I love how it was sexy with BDSM scenes but still had the emotional & loving parts between Shawnie & Rafe down perfectly!! Definitely a great book to check out!! I enjoyed it very much!

Enjoyed
This feels like a book written by Ms. Landish...characters that are developed, intelligent, and a good storyline. Before this novel I read Scorpio and the writing is like day and night. This book is smart, unpredictable, and overall very enjoyable - please stay on this path and don’t deviate anytime soon. With that said, the book did take a too far fetch improbability for me but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. MAY CONSIDER THIS A SPOILER SO READ AT OWN RISK - I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the intimate scenes were in some instances too darn detailed but I understand it worked with the title of the book and storyline.

Never have I ever....read a book as dark as this one or the two main characters as tortured and broken as Shawnie and Rafe. My heart just broke for Shawnie. The sadness and the pain never stopped and then add on Rafe's unbelievable past indoctrination.....WOW! INTENSE! One feels all the emotions, the mystery, the excitement, the hopes, the confusion, the desire to understand. It's heavy but oh so worth a place on my bookshelf. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

This story really should not be read if you have not read Off Limits. After the events of Off Limits, Shawnie is trying to move on and not being successful, doing things that make her hate herself worse. Enter Professor Rafe. He has his own dark story, but nothing compared to hers. He decides to be her safe place to rebound and recover, but it doesn't work out quite the way he hopes due to interference. They have an amazing story of recovering yourself after awful trauma and accepting the darker parts of yourself.

Loved this story
This book was so intense. The storyline was deep and intense. I was hoping Shawnie's story would be told. I even had to go back and read Dane and Abby's story again to catch back up. Rafe was such a unique character and I really enjoyed ready about his own history. This story was so well described and written! I certainly hope that we gat a story about Madam Lynn??

Another great read by Lauren Landish! All about tortured souls plagued by demons of the past, looking for real acceptance and love, dark and stormy with a intense sexiness, romance, a detailed plot and a killer hea! I had to tivo my favorite show tonight because I didnt want to put this book down! Shawnie and Rafe made a great couple, what an interesting connection they had! IMO this is a 5 star read!!

OMG this was so insanely good. The writing was impeccable. A story that captures you from start to finish.

Better than you think
I read the preview and did not think I would like this book! Man I was wrong and so glad I did. Certain parts especially they way “Angel” was abused in her past and her self destructive behavior was difficult to read but overall please with this book and loved the ending.

No Limits!
This book was dark with many twists and turns. It was well written and is definitely worth the read. I was glued to the storyline from beginning to end. I wanted more after it ended. I am really happy for Rafe and Shawnee. After what they went through, they both deserve happiness and I am glad they found it in each other.

Nothing really bad to say about the book just that it can be really intense. This book has more erotic scenes then some of the erotics books I have read in past. There is more to it then erotic though if you read carefully. A deap meaning behind the charactors.

Love Shawnies story
I love this story! I love to see the fight within her and the struggles that she suffered from the 1st book. You'll want to read no limits 1st! You get backstory on Shawnee and what she suffered through.Totally love this story great great read

Wow. Just wow! This book was dark and intense, so much so that I had to step away at times to absorb what's was happening, especially what Shawnie went through and how she later felt about herself and how she deals with it. it definitely.

Limitless!
This book has it all! Drama, suspense, romance, mystery, sadness, and a guaranteed happy ending. The energy is out of this world. I read it twice just so I could get the feelings all over again. You won't be disappointed! I almost forgot how erotic it is! No limit!!!

4.5* Really enjoyed this book. Loved the dark aspects, loved the way that they evened each other out. He was exactly what she needed and she didn't even realize it at first.
