Wanted: The Perfect Husband

Rate this book
THIS BOOK WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN THE COWBOYS & CALICO ANTHOLOGY Sybil Franklin needs a husband – fast! In order to keep the ranch she inherited from a father she never knew, she must be married within thirteen days. One man comes highly recommended. The problem is, he has no interest in marriage, no matter what she offers in return. Devin McGregor had a ranch once, had a fiancé, had a future. He made a mistake, and it cost him everything. Now, he’s afraid to risk failing again, even though it’s tempting to accept Sybil’s marriage proposal. When Sybil decides to post an advertisement for the perfect husband, Devin knows he has to stop her from being taken advantage of, but there’s only one way to do that – marry her himself. If Devin can’t overcome his fear of failure, he’s going to lose everything again – including the woman he loves.

I found this book in a box called Cowboys and Calico and I loved it. I doubt the box is still available as I’ve had it for some time so I wanted to leave a review for this author. I’ve enjoyed her books over the years and they are special. This story is about Sybil Franklin: she cared for her mother for several years; never married or even courted; never knew her father; then, upon the death of her mother learned her father had left her an inheritance. Along the way in this book, Sybil met the love of her life and I enjoyed every moment of this story. I certainly recommend this book for a wonderful afternoon read.

Great Storyline

Sybil found out her father had died & left his ranch to her along with a few stipulations. She was shocked because her mother had told her he died when she was a baby. She went to his lawyer only to find out she had to be married before the 1 year anniversary of his death. Since the time was almost up she was really in a pickle. She met Devin, but he didn't want to get married. It was funny & entertaining to see how Sybil went about trying to find a husband. This an interesting short read & I enjoyed it very much.

Awesome book!

Loved this book! I really like this author and all her books. My only disappointment is that I only read books on kindle unlimited and only some of her books are on kindle unlimited.

Please add all your books to kindle unlimited so I can read them all!!!

The title tells a story, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
As usual in a marriage of convenience story, romance is involved.
Rocky Ridge sounds like a nice town to visit, if not to move to populated with interesting characters and breathtaking scenery. I want to visit again.

Sybil

Secrets and deadlines spur a move that changes a young woman's life. Full of humor. Very enjoyable. Highly recommend this as well as Mrs Scott other books.

It was good, sweet, a little different from other marriage of convenience stories, since she’s the one who advertises for a husband, when usually it’s the other way around.

a good fun read. I just would have liked the answer to what happened between Sybil's parents to lead to the situation she finds herself in.

Is there a perfect husband?

I liked this book a lot. To see the woman have to search for a man to marry was a cute concept. This is the only book in the series I've read, but I would like to have known more of the back story about what happened with the Mom and Dad. It played a big part in the beginning and then is just dropped. But still a good sweet romance.

YOU CAN’T GO THROUGH LIFE WITH ‘WHAT IF’

I enjoyed this thought-provoking story that brought out some excellent points; no one has a guarantee of tomorrow and how important that we make the best of each day. Sybil Franklin is dealing with the death of her mother, and in a locked trunk, learns that the father she had always been told was deceased, had been alive until about nine months prior and had named her in his will.

She has nothing holding her to Ohio and travels to Colorado. The reading of the will gives her thirteen days to marry or forfeit the ranch. The story is full of characters who are willing to marry the beautiful girl to get the ranch and inheritance. The only man she wants is Devin McGregor, and he turns her down. “I’ll be happy to change my mind, just as soon as you change yours.” Devin tries to talk Sybil out of her advertisement for a husband and thwarts several would-be suitors. “Isn’t everything we do risky?”

Book 4 of the Cowboys and Calico 5 Book Collection

I received this book for free in exchange for a fair review.

Wanted: The Perfect Husband by Margery Scott

This is the first book of Margery’s that I've read and I absolutely loved it! Nothing like thinking you've lost your chance at love to make you fight with all your heart!! This was a wonderful book! It looks like the Morgans of Rocky Ridge series explain why there are so many Morgan families in this town. I look forward to reading more about them!
