Beth is a widow and Greg is an ex-con. They are two lost souls who have a random night of sex together. Nine months later they meet again — this time, she's giving birth to their son. Everything changes when Greg holds Josh, but this isn’t real, they're not married, or a happy family. Plus there are ghosts from the past who won't leave them alone. Greg can offer money, but can’t offer love. Their relationship should be doomed, but sometimes the most unlikely of partners bring out the best in each other... if they can only stay alive.
Maggie Mundy lives in Adelaide, Australia and is a member of Romance Writers of Australia, and the local chapter SARA (South Australian Romance Authors). She has also performed for many years in corporate entertainment for which she wrote her own sketches which probably explains why her head is so full of characters. She loves writing romance but thinks falling in love can be scary, especially in her stories where creatures of the night really exist.
The characters were great, the story itself was riveting, and the extra bit about good and evil ghosts adds a nice touch to the story making it much more than just a typical romance. The ghosts added an unusual touch to the story from the opinions of Beth’s dead husband to the horror when it is revealed that one of Will’s voices is a ghost from Greg’s past. Seeing Beth and Greg finally get over their hang-ups and be together despite bad opinions, restless ghost, and psycho neighbors possessed by said ghosts made this a great read. Random Meetings is a powerful story of grief, redemption and second chances. The romance between Beth and Greg is real and honest, and the situation they find themselves could happen to anyone. Despite each of them struggling with their own demons, they work together to build something greater than themselves. There are big hurdles to overcome in this story, but their are also big rewards. This is an emotionally powerful read.
