I’ll show her the ropes. And then I’ll tie her up with them.
Asher: Madilyn St. Clair doesn’t know it but I hand-picked her to be the newest employee at my firm. I’ve assigned myself as her mentor and I plan to teach her everything I know. And I do mean everything. I'm her first boss and I happen to know I'd be her first… everything else. I knew I wanted her before she even started working here. Now that she's here, I really f*cking want her. Those curves. That smile. The way she looks at me with those innocent yet "come and get me" eyes. I know I can make her mine. She'll be begging for me in no time. I love how she makes me chase her but she’ll be saying “Yes, Boss” before she knows it. And no one is going to stop me from taking what I want, except maybe myself. I built this firm from the ground up and I don’t follow anyone’s rules. But I do have my own rules in place to make sure I don’t ruin everything I’ve made by playing fast and loose with my heart. Like I’m starting to do with her. I’m used to getting what I want but I’m not used to wanting something more.
Madilyn: My boss is not supposed to be trying to sleep with me. And I’m not supposed to want to let him. Asher Marks and I couldn't be any different if we tried. Sure, we're both ambitious lawyers but the comparison stops there. He's much older, much more experienced in the courtroom as well as the bedroom, he's filthy rich and the word around the firm is that he's a player. I can't stand guys like him. He thinks he can do what he wants whenever he wants. He wants me to say “Yes boss,” “Please boss,” “More boss.” And for some strange reason, I want to say it. I want to do it. What has gotten into me? I'm the type of woman who likes to stay in control of my life, my career and my relationships. So why do I want to give it up— quite literally— to my boss, of all people? And what will happen if I do?**
Yes, Boss is a full length standalone dirty office romance novel with no cliffhanger, no cheating and a happily ever after.
Juliana Conners writes romances you can get lost in, about addictive bad boys and the luscious, curvy ladies who win their hearts. She’s a part-time lawyer and full-time mom, who prefers to write whenever possible!
Juliana aims to live by the Omar Khayyam motto: “Be happy for this moment, for this moment is your life.” In addition to writing, she enjoys reading, traveling, skiing and listening to music… preferably all while in the company of her husband and their two young sons.
Not sure what to even write. Asher hires Madilyn just to f her. When she disagrees, baby boy has a hissy fit. And oh yeah, she replies everything he asks by "yes boss" *dun dun dun* I didn't like the hero ( he was a pompous arrogant ass) I didn't like the heroine (no backbone, tstl) I just can't. Not for me 1.25/5
Best thing about this novel is it's short. Other than that ........ The main character in this book is really quite repugnant He totally abuses his position as boss of a company and picks pretty young ladies to become his transient love interests or as he likes to call them "PETS" (it wouldn't be so bad if he was from Newcastle but no he means pet as in literally pet) So the heroine Madilyn is described as intelligent, shes worked hard all her way through law school (the fact the story takes place within a law firm just adds to the hypocrisy of the story) first day on the job is handed a file with skimpy panties in it and ordered to wear them by her boss; So this bright young thing s you might expect tells her boss to shove the panties up his ass and reports him sexual abuse NOPE she waits a whole day to wear them for him and then gets felt up. (just for the record they weren't these type of panties)
What she should have said to her boss was but no she starts a "relationship" with him even though she knows he has a long history of previous "pets" he has used and abused.
To be honest i've lost all enthusiasm for writing a review of this book.
I didn't even get a quarter way through and I had enough. Are we going back in time where women have to be whores at work to get anywhere. Did she not bust her a@@ in school just to get a job and she has to sleep with the boss or not and be stuck doing intern jobs because she didn't. She says when she heard what he does that she would never do that then 2 seconds in she does. What a stupid air head. This book is stupid.
3 Star Kindle Unlimited Read Yes, Boss. I know this was supposed to be a kinky erotic book and I am a grown ass woman but, Yes, Boss. I just found that so funny. Every time I read; Yes, Boos, Please Boss, or More Boss, I just wanted to giggle. It seemed ridiculous to me.
However, that aside I really like the book. It was another tale of a play boy getting more than he thought he needed. Finding true love in what was to be a short fling.
Madelyn St. Clair is a new associate at the Law Firm of Marks, Sanchez & Reed. She has decided it is the first day of her new job, first day of her new career & the first day of the rest of her life. Asher Marks is one of the Law Firm's co-founder & he is used to getting what he wants. He has a reputation for taking a female associate under his tutelage to groom her into a great lawyer but also to keep her as a temporary lover. Madelyn is unaware of Asher's reputation when she first arrives at work but learns very quickly from the office gossip what he is like. When Asher announces that he has chosen Madelyn to be his new associate in training, she wants to be taken seriously for her work abilities. Asher is disappointed to find that Madelyn is not willing to following all of his instructions regarding their 'working' relationship. Madelyn just wants the chance to explain herself but Asher is not willing to let her have that. Madelyn regrets that she did not do as she was instructed & Asher is angry that he misjudge Madelyn's obedience. He will not let anyone rule him or break the rules he has worked hard to set for himself. But he can't stop thinking about Madelyn & how much he wants her. Against his better judgement, he gives her a second chance to obey his instructions & Madelyn does patiently waiting for what to do next. When it finally seems things are going to work out, both of them are hit with news about the other that leave them both questioning arrangement. Will they be able to work past the news? Is there more to Madelyn & Asher's relationship than just office sex?
This is a spunky office romance full of kink & not know which way is up. Both of the main characters have an idea of how 'things' are suppose to work but have no way of planning what does happen when they come together. One lives by his rules & the other by her work ethic & they are put utterly to the test by the other. This is an enjoyable read with some sass & a lot of dominance. This book is meant for mature readers.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
wow. Where to start? How bout the every begining where Marilyn says "Yes Sir", but then JC tryst to play it off as "Yes Boss" a chapter later? I can read! And have a decent memory. Don't try to play me or trick me into thinking I read something different, cause I'm the type of person to go back and find that reference to be sure I read it right!
What was with some of the banter? It was like it was supposed to lead up to something (like both their love of the same kind of dogs) ? It never went anywhere. The depth of this was like that of a princess story (with lots of sex and dirty talk). The charatures are never truly developed so no attachment is made by the reader. In fact there's quite a bit of full in the blank of what happens from point A to B (just like in a princess story) you get to make it what you want.
Lastly Amazon says this is 330 pgs. Not even close. I think I finished it in 2 hours.
Don't bother with this. If you want something short and much better read a cosmopolitan short. They seem to screen their stories better!
Asher is Madilyn's boss and now mentor. She worked her butt off to become a lawyer and now she is saying,"Yes Boss, instead of sir as he wants her and takes her. She gives in to the hot look boss. They both have ex's that make their lives a mess but work through it.
It was an ok read. There are some hot scenes but a bit rushed. It is a quick read and the author tries to throw in a little romance. It could have been better but over all a decent read.
Who knew starting a new job could end up so deliciously! Mentoring new Associates is what Boss Asher Marks required for all new Associates at the Law Firm of Marks, Sanchez & Reed. As a New Associate Madilyn St. Clair was ready to do whatever it took to make sure she excelled in her new environment. Grab this great book and follow along as things heat up for The Boss and one of his newest Associates! Loved how the Author was able to work in so much emotional turmoil along with the Heat of the passions between all of the characters involved. So many levels that it kept this reader from putting this read down! Great interactions between main and supporting characters along with the continuation of the histories of the main ones. Recommended to all interested in Spicer Romance with some Dominance thrown in to heat it up. Well Done 🌺
Yes Boss a bad boy office romance is about a young girl Madilyn who has just finished her studies. She is employed by the law firm of Marks, Sanchez & Reeds. Quickly, she meets her boss, Asher Marks. He is beautiful and insanely sexy. Rumor has it that he will select a new candidate as he has mentored. This candidate, he has a sexual relationship until the next candidate. At the welcome meeting announcing Asher that his candidate is Madilyn. Madilyn is very attracted to Asher but is she ready for the kind of relationship and it's smart to start a relationship with her boss? I love office romance and this one is absolutely fantastic. I read it without a break. Exciting and romantic. I can definitely recommend this book
The sexual "converations" were trite and immature. First day on the job in a lawyers office by a lawyer to a lawyer given a BDSM outfit to wear!!!?? The supposed sexual harassment complaint HR brought forward BEFORE discovering the real complaint??? HR asking two people in front of others if they are having an affair!!! How ridiculous! Allowing an ex wife to continue calling post a five year divorce NOT having a friendly conversations??? A better title would have been: Yes Boss, Its Fantasy Time.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book OMG this is so hot. I loved Madilyn St. Clair she was so cute, She has worked hard to get where she is, and yet her new job is just not going right on her first day, The first issue is that her office she was promised is now under renovation so she is sent to cubicle hell lol second her ex boyfriend (James who she broke up with just the night before) is calling her at her new job, third the hot older guy in khakis just told her that cell phone use in cubicle hell is not allowed, and lastly she was in the bathroom and heard 3 other new women at the law firm talking smack about her. she is beside herself with anger and hurt. after some of the things she heard the "mean girls" say she was stunned by who sat beside her in orientation. Asher Marks himself The Head of Marks, Sanchez & Reeds. And Madilyn is now his mentee. OMG Yes Boss is great. I highly recommend this book
I don't quite know what to say about this only that it was odd and a bit confusing. With lots of things that did not make sense or how ended abruptly. His ex, how she threatened him but disappear so fast.
And the oddest thing was that EVERYONE knew what the heck he was doing with his mentees. Seriously, every fucking employee knew. Girls were excited about the fact that each mentee he chose meant also his new submissive. Alright, so for YEARS he's been doing that and NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE had a stupid thing to say about his morals. However, as soon as he's making Madilyn his new submissive, BOOM. Someone goes to the HR and complains about sexual harassment and how low his morals are, how he actually is not supposed to do that even if he was the boss (which, in my opinion, was fucking normal). It had NO SENSE. No sense at all. I'm sure the author could've found a better plot than this one. Or at least, not to make his ways so obvious.
I won't waste your time rehashing the premise of the book but I will say this was a very steamy and taboo read. Asher crosses lines that a boss / owner of a law company shouldn't. And it is accepted by those in the company, that is until Madelyn is picked to be his next pet. At first she is unsure if she is willing to follow his lead dispite her strong attraction and her need to rid herself of her v card.
The chemistry worked well with the main characters and the reality of jealousy between the women added a nice catty layer to the story. My only concern was the ex-wife storyline really didn't go anywhere. Other than that I enjoyed the power play between the characters and the moment when the Asher realized his true feelings for Madelyn. oh, as an added thought the scene where Everyone is in the conference room being confronted by HR was hilarious. I can honestly say I have added this author to my must read list.
Asher is good at reading people and thinks he has Madilyn pegged, but she throws him for a loop, and in the process breaks down his walls. Madilyn wants to kick butt as a new associate at the firm and lose her v card, while shaking her hard-to-get-rid-of on again off again boyfriend. She gets all that and more with her sexy boss who falls for her but also respects her. Ugh and I hate the Barbie girl mean girls cliques, they definitely don't go away after you graduate unfortunately. And she has to deal with a group like that at work. This is a sweet but very spicy book and I loved it. I received an arc of this.
I loved this book I was gripped from the start to finish. this is about a woman starting a fresh in her new job. she just ditched her long term boyfriend and wanted to start over. even though she was in a relationship for years she still remained a virgin with a nit so innocent fantasy. the boss likes this new associate a little too much but is she I retested in the same things as he is . I would definitely recommend this book
This book was very hard for me to read, the parts of the book that were not "racy" were written badly. I could barely finish the book. I felt like I was reading a high schooler's versions of a novel. The characters were very flat and I could not connect with this book at all. There needs to be a "reviser" to make this text sound better or at least more natural.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I have loved every book written by Juliana and this one didn't disappoint. The story pulled me in from the first page. I definitely recommend picking up a copy.
Madelyn has worked hard and studied hard all trying to please her father, but he dies suddenly and surprisingly from a heart attack leaving her completely unable to get his full approval. She knows that he has not shown her any care for what she was doing in the past, in fact quite the opposite. She also is in a relationship with this guy for four years and he never once tries to move beyond kissing. This is even with them living together. Time for changes. She dumps and asks this guy to leave, he is not willing to let go, but too bad. She gets a key position at the best legal firm ever, this is the one she has worked and studied so hard for. Now she is chosen as the mentor/mentee program from the man himself, one of the original owners of this firm. He has quite the reputation for knowing and winning big cases. However he also has a reputation for his associates to become his partners outside the cases, until he bores of them and moves on. Madelyn is nervous and completely taken aback by Mr. Asher Marks choosing her. She heard what the three Barbie wanna be's said about her in the bathroom.
Mr. Asher Marks is a man who knows what he wants and will not stop until he has it. This is not going to change with Madelyn. Although from the very beginning there is something different about her. To start with on the first day he hands her an according file and gives her instructions. To include the manila folder marked with her name on it. She is not sure she wants that, and he decides to "put her in her place" and move on, but he just can't. She stood up to him, and no one else has done that before. She is smart, sexy and willing to stand up to him, this is more of an challenge to him, and he thrives on challenges. He likes the rules he has created and used in his life since his ex-wife and he parted ways. But it seems that the boss man is about to learn rules are meant for breaking sometimes, and bending a bit more at others.
Ok, so their "relationship" starts off on the wrong foot, but is very quickly corrected. As soon as that correction has been made it is fell steam ahead. He has her come to his office and there is where sparks fly. She is nervous and worried about her job. He indeed tells her that she is not to worry about losing her job just because she chooses not to follow instructions for this training. She decides to let go and just let this happen. Why fight what they both know feels right. Finally things explode, there is Madelyn losing her V-card, Asher learning that he has gotten her so deep under his skin, false accusations by jealous people, and the exes showing up when they are least wanted. But there is a fantastic, deep, and yes love between Madelyn and Asher which allow them to face these hurdles together. I will tell you they have a happily ever after, and it is better than hoped for.
Yes Boss Madilyn goes into her new job for a large law firm. When she gets there she is taken to her new temporary office. I was in a cubicle which made me uncomfortable since I was promised an office. Everyone that met so far was treating me like an intern. My phones starts to ring and I hit ignore at which time a man walked over and told her no cell phones in this part of the office and then walks away. She had no idea who this man was he wasn’t in a suit. Madilyn had been with her boyfriend on and off for three years when from bad to worse even after counseling. She realized that It was never going to happen so she broke it off for good. She wanted to lose her virginity to someone who knew what to do. Madilyn was in the bathroom when three women walk in. They start to talk about Mr.Asher Marks and how he takes new associates under his wing and in his bed. They were all vying for that position and then stating to one another it had to be one of them. They went through the women in the department one too old, one to plain and me they said has cankles and was too fat so I would never be in the running. At the orientation Asher sits next to Madilyn and all he thought about how much he liked her whole package. Asher assigned Madilyn to himself and the younger girls looked pissed off. Asher dropped a note at her feet and she bends to pick it up the ladies wanted to know what the note had said for her to come to his office after the orientation was over. Madilyn goes into his office and he gives her some work to take home to study. All he keep thinking is how she would look naked. Asher sent her home with files plus some lingerie to wear into work the next day. He was not very happy that she didn’t follow his direction so he put her with another associate and just blew her off. She goes into his office because his door was half open and there was Mandy sitting on his desk flirting with him and saying bad things about her. When Asher sees her she is looking now she was gone out of his area. Asher really likes Madilyn but he wanted her just not just an associate but his pet.. Asher and Madilyn starts to see each other on a permanent basis. Asher gets called into the conference room where Mandy, Janice and Madilyn . Asher is accused of sexual harassment by Melody. Twist, Turns, and Misleading statement makes this an exciting book.
I really like Juliana Conners books. This one is no different. It's a fun read and sexy, sinful and steamy. Madelyn is a young woman who has gone to law school and is ready for her life to change. She has been in a loveless and sexless relationship with the same guy on and off for 4 years. He came into her life when she really needed someone but there just wasn't any chemistry there. He doesn't want to give her up but things need to end. She is starting a new job as an associate lawyer at a big firm. She is very excited to start this job and start over. She find out that her mentor is the sexy, older and firm creator Asher Marks. Well her first day on the job he gave her several files to go over along with an extra one for her to look through. She surprises him by turning him down at first when he propositions her with that extra file. He sees something in her that he has never seen in any other associates. He's good at being a mentor and is sexually satisfying to his "pets" as well. With that kind of reputation does Madelyn want to be one of his "pets". She is a virgin and needs someone to take her V card. Needless to say, they end up having sex which turns out to be amazing. Then with some miscommunication between the 2 of them they both need to decide if this should go any further. Needless to say if I tell you anymore you are not going to want to read this book for yourself and it is completely worth your time to do so. You will not be disappointed whatsoever. I voluntarily read this book through their ARC program.
Madilyn is a new associate lawyer at an extremely successful law firm. She is stuck in a dead end relationship with a guy who she has been living with for a couple of years and she is still a virgin. Her boss, Asher and the head partner has set up a mentoring program for new associates partnering them up with more experienced lawyers. Madilyn's mentor is Asher and she is excited since this is a great opportunity for her. What she doesn't know is Asher chooses one associate and she becomes his pet and is expected to follow his every rule. Madilyn is upset when Asher makes his demands because she is afraid of destroying her career. She at first refuses to be his pet so Asher gives her a different mentor. Asher would normally forget all about her and move on except Madilyn holds a strange fascination for him. He decides to give her one more chance and Madilyn takes him up on it.. He takes her virginity in a really hot scene. After their encounter, both Asher's ex-wife and Madilyn's ex boyfriend almost sabotage their budding relationship. I really enjoyed this story. Asher was confused by how he couldn't treat Madilyn like any other pet. Madilyn for an innocent was also very passionate. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and this is my review.
This was a funny, sexy little book about a woman who is learning to go after what she wants with the help of her new domineering boss Asher. Creatively written, I love that the heroine Madilyn didn't let Asher push her around. She was strong and stood up for herself when she was unsure what she really wanted out of their relationship, and she was submissive when she knew it would get her what she wanted. "...I'd let Madilyn throw me off my game, without doing enough to make sure the game had even gotten started in the first place." "But she is not like the ones who came before her. Something about her has overtaken me the way I thought I would overtake her." "And I've learned from him to go after what I want. No matter how scary or risky it might feel." "I know he's a possessive, demanding man...And it's exactly why I like him. So why am I so upset?" The back and forth between the two main characters made this book so much fun to read and it was not an easy book to put down. Time well spent and laughs appreciated by this reader.
