24 roses.
24 days filled with declarations of love.
24 moments where life will mark her as mine.

I’ve loved Anahi Pratt since she moved in next door at the age of twelve. With her knobby knees and a mouthful of braces she made my heart thump harshly inside my pre-pubescent chest. One look into the greenest eyes I’d ever seen and I was hooked for life. Owned.

However, I was tongue-tied and confused. Did the only thing I could and offered my friendship.

After years, those feelings never changed. Instead they grew—morphed into something deep and profound. But never once did she see me as more than a friend. Never did she see the man that worshiped the ground she walked on. The man that desired to be what she wanted. Needed.

I stayed on the sidelines until that day:

A crash.

Her life on the line and my world came to a screeching halt.

Life is short and changes in the blink of an eye, a lesson I suddenly understood. There wasn’t a second to wait. No more hiding behind the guise of friendship.

She was mine and it was time I claimed her.

Elena M. Reyes is the epitome of a Floridian, and if she could live in her beloved flip-flops, she would.

As a small child, she was always intrigued by all forms of art: whether it was dancing to island rhythms or painting with any medium she could get her hands on. Her passion for reading over the years has amassed her with hours of pleasure, but it wasn't until she stumbled upon fanfiction that her thirst to write overtook her world.

She’s a short and sassy Latina with an adorable pup, a kiddo that keeps her on her toes, and a husband who claims she’ll cause him to go bald prematurely. Lol

I hate it when I love the author but don't love the book. It makes me so freaking sad!! 😢😢😢

Here's the thing... I loved Bryson. The author did a great job of creating a man I want to read about. He was an absolute sweetheart and had the kind of character you want to find in a friends-to-lovers hero. The kind of hero that has secretly been in love with the heroine and didn't really hide it... she was just blind to it. And holy crap was Ani blind. The only thing beautiful about this character, to me, was her name. She was very tiresome to read. Her POV practically put me to sleep and I quickly breezed through it just to get back to Bryson. I wasn't a fan of hers, for sure!

Told in past and present, I really could have done without all of the flashbacks. They added nothing to the story other than to show how much of a pum-pum Bryson was for Ani. I never like to see an 'alpha' looking unnecessarily soft, especially when the heroine acts undeserving. So all three stars go to Bryson alone. He had an amazing heart and the way he loved his woman was amazing.

"These twenty-four roses represent each day it took for us to reach this place, where we are now, and the declarations of love. Each moment and stolen kiss, how life marked our souls the day we were born and led us here. To each other. The represent us, Ani. Our beautiful life and my love for you."

Wow. The Feels. Ani and Bryson have known each other since they were kids, and an unexpected event pulls them together, having them examine their best friend status. What comes next is nothing short of genius. The Author flips you back and forth from present to past effortlessly, filling in the blanks and allowing you a dual POV to not miss a second of these two and their adorable relationship. Hot and dirty, romantic and sweet, it's got it all. A cast of hysterical family and friends, some angsty conflicts for added drama, and the ending!!! Gah, the ending was perfect, and pulled it all together. Their banter alone had me entertained from start to finish. I thank the Author for providing a copy to voluntarily review.

Swoonworthy story alert! These two have been friends forever, but after she's in an accident, he realizes it's long overdue for him to show he wants more. So much more. The only reason she's fought it all these years is fear of ruining their friendship. I can not believe how other girls treat her. Jealous b&*%hes. Bryson is pretty romantic in getting Anahi to see they belong together. Oh, and the end made me cry. Great friends to lovers romance. I received an arc of this.

Review by Country Gals BOOK Blog

Anahi and Bryson have been best friends since they were kids. She watched Bry as he became even more handsome, successful, and had women falling at his feet. Regardless, he was still her best friend and they were still close as ever. Bry watched Anahi grow up from a scrawny beautiful girl to a gorgeous woman. He's always said she would be his. Now it's time to show Anahi he's hers too. But when she gets in an accident he almost loses his chance.

This story is so beautiful. The author definitely pulls at your heartstrings for this one. Anahi is stubborn when it comes to her heart. Bryson is alpha male and sweet but only when it comes to her. They compliment each other well and the story of their friendship shows the deep connection they have. We get to see a glimpse back from after the accident and afterwards. This is a dual POV story so we get a glimpse into what each character is thinking.

Bryson has shown us true romance and i do believe he has ruined all men from my future. Lol 24 Roses for every day it takes for him to win her heart. It's a beautiful love story with some ups and downs but you definitely want to take a chance on this book.

So where do I start? Completely different from what I had thought it would be, but surprisingly good. There were a lot of things I loved about this book such as the funny back and forth from Ani and Bry, or the romantic streak Bry has. I do have to say that the one thing that got to me was Ani as a person. This character has evoked such an array of feelings that I couldn't figure out which won over until the end. The girl was stubborn as all heck and eventually I settled for realizing that if the author could make me feel all these things towards a character then she did her job. This book has some comedy, definitely some steamy sexy scene that were great and a lot of love/romance. It has a good plot and if there was something I would want to change or maybe comment on is that in the beginning Bry comes off as aggressive but then mellows out. Overall another good read from Elena Reyes

24 Roses by Elena M. Reyes is one of those stories that takes you on a journey filled with true, dedicated, everlasting love.

Bryson has been in love with Anahi since they were very young. But Anahi has always denied that his attraction and love were really true.

After a devastating accident, they both learn how precious life is. However, Anahi has so much inside of her to overcome and she will test Bryson at every turn.

Reyes brings her reader into the lives of Anahi & Bryson, and gets you completely involved in their hopes and fears. You'll find yourself completely submersed and in these characters and storyline.

4 Stars!!!

Oh, this one is an emotional rollercoaster. 🌹❤️

24 Roses is a story about years of unspoken feelings, deep friendship, devotion, and finally reaching the point where you realise that life is far too short to keep hiding what you feel.

The story follows a man who has loved Anahi Pratt since they were children. From the moment she moved next door, she captured his heart, and what begins as a childhood crush slowly grows into something much deeper. But instead of risking their friendship, he stays quietly in the background, loving her from afar while she sees him only as a friend.

And honestly? The amount of patience this man has is both heartbreaking and incredibly romantic. 🥹

I loved the friends-to-lovers foundation of this story. There's something special about two people having so much history together, especially when one has been carrying feelings for the other for years. The emotional weight behind his love for Anahi really comes through, making his decision to finally stop hiding behind friendship feel even more significant.

Then everything changes.

An accident forces him to confront just how quickly life can change, and suddenly waiting for the "right moment" doesn't seem like an option anymore.

The idea of 24 roses and 24 declarations of love is such a beautiful romantic concept. 🌹 Each one feels like another piece of a love story that has been waiting years to be told.

If you enjoy friends-to-lovers, childhood crushes that grow into lifelong love, devoted heroes, emotional romance, heartfelt declarations and stories about finally taking a chance on love, this sounds like a book you'll want to add to your list.

Sweet, emotional and full of devotion, 24 Roses is a reminder that sometimes the person who's been beside you all along is the person you've been looking for. ❤️🌹

24 Roses ( Forever And Always) A Friends To Lovers Romance!!! Bryson and Anahi - oh my gosh guys - let me just say I was not prepared for how these two were going to own my heart ❤️. I most definitely was not prepared for how their story was going to make me feel so many emotions I never ever expected to feel . The way it wrecked me and shattered my heart / then by end all those pieces were glued right back together again . 24 Roses has to be one of the most beautiful and very emotional love stories I’ve read in such a long time . Best friends who have always been one another’s safe place , who have been there for each other through the ups and the downs and the most important moments. To watch their relationship grow and change . To see how one tragic moment can ruin everything and tear them apart / even if it wasn’t by choice . What an emotional rollercoaster that had me devouring every word, literally glued to the edge of my seat in anticipation of what would happen from one moment to the next . And feeling the everything from smiling to crying, to yelling and rooting so so hard

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

This is the story of Bryson and Anahi. From the moment that Anahi and her family moved in next door to Bryson and his family he knew that his heart would belong to this little girl for forever. I am going to go ahead and tell you that you are going to fall head over heels for Bryson. He is alpha male, book boyfriend material. When he was a kid, he was a little bashful and could not tell Anahi how he felt about her. He would get tongue tied and keep it all inside. But he could offer her his friendship. But through all the years he felt the same and Anahi never caught on. When unexpected things happen and his eyes are opened to what could happen in the blink of an eye, he decides that now is the time to go after the woman he knows is supposed to be his. This book is full of all the feels. You are going to love every single second of this book. I will warn you that Anahi gets a little tiring at times. I wanted things to go go go when we read her point of view. But alas, they did not. It could have just been me, but I wasn't' feeling her at times.

Elena M. Reyes delivers a story that is romantic and sexy all in a beautiful love story.

Some of us have been there, being friends with that person we wish it was more than just that, a friend. That's Bryson's case. He's been in love with Anahi since his pre-teen days but being the boy he was he never said anything, just offered the next best thing, his friendship. After a pretty serious event in Anahi's life Bryson decides to let his feelings be known and start his journey to conquer her heart.

I love the love and protectiveness that Bryson shows for Anahi, is alpha with some sweetness and tenderness mixed for good measure. Anahi's character was a bit challenging at times, perhaps the fear she kept hidden within was guiding her behavior towards Bryson sometimes. That said, they are both likable characters and easy to identify with.

The story is a bit slow at times but I think it was a necessary evil to build these character's journey. 24 Roses is a perfect mix of friendship, longing, angst and no doubt love between two people that were always meant for each other.

Elena M. Reyes is a genius when it comes to her alphas and the women they love!! From page one she grabs your attention and has you feeling so many emotions you don't know which way is up.
Bryson is a complete alpha who is fierce and very protective especially when it comes to Anahi the woman he loves. His best friend!!
After a horrific accident involving Anahi occurs Bryson finally decides enough is enough. Anahi will be his. He just has to get through her stubbornness. Anahi loves Bryson, but doesn't think he loves her as she does him. Throughout the novel you get very frustrated with the characters. You are yelling and screaming at them to figure their crap out!! And don't get me started on Jason. Elena sure knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seats as she throws many twists and turns at them!!
I feel in love with Bryson and Anahi while reading 24 Roses!! Such a phenomenal story until the very last page!!!

This was the first book of Elena that I have read!! I had signed up for the ARC and received it in exchange of my honest review of the book. The book is about two best friends who are secretly in love with each other but too scared to admit it. One accident and finally they realise that life is too short to hide behind what ifs!!! Bryson and Anahi's characters are so well written and well defined that one can easily relate with them. I loved the story writing style where the chapter begins with a flash back and then the present day scene is merged. The story was so romantic and OMG Bry was such a patient and persistent lover. Even when the hopes were too low he never gave up on his love for Ani and did everything for her. The way he cared for her, knew what she wanted even before she said it was just so so heart warming!!!
I always enjoy a good love story but this one exceeded all my expectations!! I hope that every reader enjoys this book as much as I enjoyed it!! 5 star ratings for this one!!!

I had a really hard time with this book, mainly due to the language. There was too much swearing for my taste, and I felt like it wasn't really appropriate to the story. For me, it took away from the story. I actually didn't finish the book because of it, so I can't really say whether the story was any good or not.

I thought the premise of the story sounded good, but the writing seemed a little immature. I know the characters in the story are young, but it seemed like they acted even younger than they were supposed to be.

On a positive note, this story may appeal to younger adult readers as it is about a young couple in their age range and they probably would be less bothered by the language/action of the characters. I wouldn't tell anyone not to read it, it just didn't appeal to me, personally.

A sweet, poignant story of 20 something Anahi and Bryson who have been friends since age 12.
This is their journey as they navigate their friends to lovers story.
Even though they've had feelings for each other they never went any further to avoid jeopardizing their friendship.
When Anahi gets seriously hurt in a car accident Bryson makes a decision to make his feelings known.
Bryson learns that Anahi is far more complicated than he imagined.
The characters were engaging, and likable, although at times Anahi was infuriating with the things she did and said.
The pace of the story was sometimes slow, but, seeing the growth of these characters and the dynamics in their relationship develop, kept me reading.
Overall, I enjoyed this story as both characters struggled with their feelings and plotting their romance.
Will he finally get his girl, or give up?

I love a hero that is focused and is done waiting. This novel checked so many boxes for me. I have read other novels by this author and have really enjoyed them. This novel was one of the novels you pick up and have a hard time putting it down. From the first chapter this novel pulled me in and held on tight. I love a good childhood friends to lovers where the male character has always known that she is the one for him. I loved Bryson and Anahi's story. Their chemistry was so good! I loved that once he realized he was done waiting he went all in. I loved that their moms were encouraging him the whole way. I loved it, such a sweet romance. So good!

If you are looking for a story that perfectly captures the "I’ve loved her forever" trope, 24 Roses is an absolute knockout. Elena M. Reyes delivers a raw, deeply emotional journey that proves exactly why some things, and some people, are worth the wait.

24 Roses is a poignant reminder that while life can change in a heartbeat, some feelings are unshakeable. It’s a fast-paced, high heat, and high emotion story that stays with you long after the final rose. For fans of protective heroes and the "it’s always been you" theme, this is a must-read.

Writing this review without giving away the story is going to be hard. This book took me more than s day to read which isn't normal. I usually sit and devour a book until it's done. But these characters frustrated me until I thought I'd pick up smoking and I had to take breaks. Bryson is aggressively affectionate if that's even a thing. He took a second to grow on me and then when I loved him I was done with Anahi and I wanted her to be punished. It felt like Bryson loved Anahi more than she loved him. I don't know if their relationship should've been that hard. Why did she keep shitting on Bryson’s feelings? Can't even describe how I loathe Jason and I was not happy but satisfied with his demise.

"I more than like every single inch of you. In my eyes, you will always be my perfection."

And this is how Bryson has felt since he and Anahi were kids. There is no other woman for him, she is it, but he has never professed his love to her.
When Anahi gets into an accident, Bryson realizes how precious life is and knows that it is now or never. He needs to put all of his cards on the table and tell Anahi just how he feels.

With the things Bryson says to Anahi, she must have been dense to not see his feelings and not want to act on them. I know it is tricky when you cross a line with your bestie, but dang...he pretty much treats her like a princess, even before her accident. Heck, even Anahi's mother knows Brysons intentions!

Just as Bryson could be romantic, he could also be over the top, making him fall into the alpha male role and Anahi sprayed the story with angst because she just couldn't pull the trigger on the relationship.

EXCERPT
“How can you say that with this hideous scar on my thigh?” Fuck, she could be as stubborn as a mule.
“That scar…” I hissed out, my eyes searching the floor around her feet for the broken glass I’d heard fall through the door. It was nothing big. A small figurine broken in two pieces. Taking the remaining steps between us, I paused in front of her. “This is proof that what could have been tragic…wasn’t.” Taking her face in my hands, I tipped it up and lowered my forehead to hers. “It means that you are okay and here with me. That a drunken asshole crying over his divorce didn’t take the most important thing in my life away.”
“Stop.” Prying my hands from her face, she brought them between us and squeezed. “It isn’t your job to fix this. I was the one that left the jerk I’d agreed to have dinner with mid-meal and drove off in a rush. I was the one that didn’t notice the car not stopping as his light turned red. I was the one that put herself in this position time and time again.”
“Fuck are you talking about, Anahi?” Every muscle within me tensed as I waited for her to explain herself.
“That I should’ve listened to you when it came to the men I dated.”
Staring into her sad green eyes, my heart clenched. Her pain was mine. “Shit happens, and it was not your fault.”
“Had I been paying attention and not thinking about the ‘what ifs I…” Anahi’s face bloomed with a sudden rush of embarrassment.
“Tell me.” She shook her head. “Please.”
“You want to know? Because trust me, I remember everything about that night.” Letting out a bitter chuckle, she stepped back and released my hands. I missed her warmth immediately. “Fuck!” Ani yelled out while turning around. Placing her hands on the top of her dresser, she hung her head. A sob was caught in her throat, and I rushed forward to wrap her in my arms.
The pain medication she’d been on tended to make her emotions fluctuate a bit.
“Talk to me, babe.” With my arms secured around her waist, I pulled her in closer. Ignored what the feel of her warm skin against my own created. “Let me in.”
“I’m sorry.” Wiping at her eyes, Anahi took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Didn’t mean to pull the crazy chick card on you.” This was said with a laugh, but there was real hurt behind the action. “There’s too much going on upstairs, and I don’t know how to handle it. Between nightmares and anger, it’s a constant roller coaster.”
“Start from the beginning,” I hummed against the top of her head. “You’ve never wanted to give me details about that night. Always vague and avoiding—something about what happened is hurting you. Let me in, dollface.”
“Why do you always call me pet names?” Diversion tactic if I ever heard one; that, and she needed her ego stroked. Not that I minded in the least. For some unknown reason, Ani felt as if the small scar over her sculpted brow and thigh was this heinous thing that offended the world.
“Because I can.”
A huff, and then a smack to my arm. “That’s not an answer.”
“And neither is yours. Tell me what’s eating you up inside, Ani.”
“Every time I close my eyes, I see those high-beam lights coming at me followed close by the sound of screeching tires.” A shiver so hard ran through her that it rocked me to my core. All I could do was hold her tighter, with my presence show her that I was here for her. “Next came the sound of metal bending—caving in on itself—as a searing pain shot up the side of my body. It burned. The intense jolt caused me to almost black out, but even as everything intensified around me, I had only one thought in my head.”
“Say it,” I whispered low into the crown on her head.
Running her fingers over my hand, she shook her head. “Doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, Bryson, but it’s those what ifs that eat me alive. I’ve lost time I don’t know if I could ever get back.”
“You want to know what tortures me about that night?” Turning her around so my blue eyes could meet her green ones, I placed my hands at her hips and squeezed them lightly before holding her in place. No more hiding. Anahi wasn’t running away from the damn truth that was currently smacking us in the face.
Bringing a shaking hand up, she cupped my jaw. “What?”
“The fact that I almost lost you when I’d just realized that I’ve always owned you.”

This was a great story. An intense and romantic friends to lovers tale. Bryson is delightfully patient and swoon-worthy. He realizes that he is in love with his best friend after she is in a car accident. Anahi is a great girl, and what I really liked was, despite her situation, she wasn't whiny. Their romance is sweet. I really enjoyed the story. Once I started reading, I wasn't able to put it down. I received a copy for an honest review.
