“Where you are will always be home to me.”

I’m happy I finally finished this series! I’m not sure why I waited so long to read The Final Fight. I’ve loved every book in this series, but Blake Daniels book was my favorite. This is his younger brother, Braeden’s book. This was sweet, steamy, and gave me so many feels. I loved Braeden and AJ! And the narration was amazing. Erin Mallon never disappoints.

I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve read a book from the fighting series I’m seriously smacking myself right now because I forgot just how good they were! I feel like I need to go back and savor every last word from the previous books that I did read and hold on just a little bit longer because this really was the Final Fight.

If you’re familiar with the past characters then you know that Braedan Daniels is the younger brother of Blake Daniels who’s now a former UFL Fighter. Well he’s making his own mark now by stepping away from the required family tradition and decides to become a marine. Doing the right thing has never been the problem for this Marine but one look at the brown eyed beauty, and he’s breaking all the rules of wanting something more.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“ I don’t need promises. I only want to live in this moment with you, whatever that means and not think about tomorrow or a week or a year from now”.

Becoming a well established performer in Las Vegas isn’t easy but for someone like AJ, having an opportunity to do so is the only thing she cares about. When she meets Braedan at the casino, AJ knows that this Marine is going to make her feel things she’s never felt before and when her number one goal is to be successful, that kind of distraction can be dangerous.

I don’t want to give the entire story away so this review is going to be short and very vague. What I will say is that I loved seeing Breeden and AJ’s interactions with each other. These two were the complete opposite of each other in certain things but when they together, it felt so natural and complete. I also loved that we got to see more of Blake and his family because I missed them and it was good to catch up.

If you’re new to this series or you’ve just read a few books before, then you’re going to love the final chapter in this epic fighting Saga.

JB Salsbury is one of my five go to authors that never ever fails me. Her writing is raw, unfiltered, diversely layered, and very relatable.

From parental issues, abuse, rape, selling of the flesh; to self-identity crises, personal tragedies, devastating loss and redemption; this series covers a wide range of issues.

description

In the latest and final novel in its series, The Final Fight, focuses upon two fighters. And no, I don't mean in the traditional sense we've now come accustomed to know. Will explain later in review.

Braeden, our male heroine, is a born military man and the younger brother of UFL fighter, Blake Daniels. His lady love, AJ Pines, is an up and acrobat dancer in one of the hottest Vegas hotels premier shows, Eros, looking for her big break.

Both committed to their fields of expertise, neither had ever expected a few days of no strings attached fun to turn into something possibly more.

Now with Braeden about to be deployed overseas to Iraq and AJ to be left in Vegas, reality begins to get real, QUICK, and now the rules have changed and the the stakes are much higher.

description

We witness Braeden and AJ through their highs and utter lows, and let me say, it was gut wrenching to bear at times. For Braeden and those who serve in the military--- the juggle between the call of duty and leaving behind your loved ones can be an agonizing toll. For soldiers and their kin, it's always the fear of the unknown. Not knowing if you're going to come back, or, come back not the person you once were before you left.

description

Can Braeden quench that call to serve and protect and still preserve the man he was? That is, if he survives his next deployment? And if so, can he finally claim the girl he told not to wait for him but yearns for?.... OR will the glitz and glamour of Sin City turn her away?

description

As for AJ, being a struggling performer America's City of Lights, can be both gratifying but dangerous ordeal. It is her dream to become the starting act but as she soon finds out, reaching that ambition might cost her more than she could have ever anticipated.

Can she become the top lining artist she's always wanted to be? Will she ever get the chance to confess to the man who stole her heart but hasn't heard a word from in months?..... Or will she leave with a broken heart and broken dreams?

Fans of the FIGHTING series will be in for a treat in this story of love, perseverance, and sacrifice.
I felt it highlighted the fighting nature of the human spirit in all faucets. From the plights of our men and women bravely serving on the frontlines and the predicaments they take on and off the frontlines....To the hardwork and grueling nature of being an athlete.... These are only some examples of one's resilience and determination to overcome the odds, as shown in our characters, Braeden and AJ.

description

It's a battle that co-exists in all aspects of life really. From getting up in the morning and picking yourself up no matter how low you've sunk. You need to go out fighting and live your life to its fullest. That's what this book and all of the FIGHTING books themes emcompass.

description

I'm still trying to convince myself that this is not the end of this series for me but from what I gather I suppose it is. Pity, I would have read 10 more books of these characters if that I meant I could hold on to them forever; but, it was fun while it all lasted.

Will certainly miss the entire FIGHTING family and their highly functional-dysfunctional cocoon of guys and gals and their impenetrable bond of love, friendship and unwavering brotherhood. #GOALSBABY

Anyway, #ONE-CLICK #ONE-CLICK #ONE-CLICK STRAIGHT AWAY!! #ANDREI<3U You will not be disappointed!

The Fighting series by J.B. Salsbury is one of my favorites and has a special place in my heart. I read the first book four years ago, and have been a fan of the author ever since. It was bittersweet when I heard that this book would be the last one in the series. I have been through so much with the characters and I love them. I loved that they all were present in this book, it made me want to reread all their stories. Let me stop reminiscing and get back to The Final Fight. This book is about Marine Braeden Daniels, who is Blake Daniels' (main character in the second book: Fighting to Forgive) younger brother. His love interest is AJ, who is an acrobatic performer in Las Vegas. I really enjoyed how they met and their chemistry together. Both are married to their jobs and don't really have time for a committed relationship. I liked that there was no miscommunication about that. They were both upfront with how things would go down, and I really appreciate that. Of course eventually feelings come into play, and decisions have to be made.

Even though I enjoyed this book, it wasn't my favorite. I don't know why, but it was a bit difficult for me to connect to AJ and Braeden. I liked AJ more than I did Braeden, even though he was such a nice guy. He made some decisions and acted in a way that I didn't support. There was even a moment that I was hoping that they didn't end up together. Thankfully, the author managed to convince me that these two belonged together. I just wanted these two to spend more time together, and really grow as a couple. I think that was what I was missing the most in this book. Overall, The Final Fight was a solid contemporary romance with interesting characters. There was one side character, who I hope will get his own book, because I am kind of in love with him.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

I loved EVERYTHING about this book! I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and I felt everything in between! JB Salsbury has given us another emotionally intense story with a romance that is just perfection. I freaking loved it!

While I am sad to see this series come to an end, I’ve been really looking forward to this book, and it’s a very worthy end to a collection of wonderful, character-driven stories, finishing the series with (in my opinion) one of the best. Having said that though, this book would stand strongly on its own, and could be read without the others first (though of course you would be missing background on the side characters).

Braeden has appeared in the series before. He is Blake’s younger brother who, after escaping the controlling hand of his father, became a marine. He loves his job and has dedicated his life to proudly serving his country, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy a bit of fun as well, and he often makes the trip down to Vegas to visit his brother and party it up as he enjoys the single life.

AJ is a performer in a Cirque-du-Soleil-ish act on the Vegas strip. It’s what she’s always dreamed of and she’s loving her new life, working her butt off to make her dreams a reality and not letting anything get in her way.

Braeden and AJ meet one night in the casino, there’s a spark, and it’s all on. From that first meeting full of flirty smiles and witty banter, to fun moments and easy conversation as they get to know each other, you can feel their attraction blossom. And they hold nothing back from each other, offering complete honesty about their feelings and where they are at, all underpinned by sizzling chemistry which builds beautifully into a steaming hot weekend that both of them know they won’t be able to walk away from.

Even though we’ve only spent a handful of nights together, it somehow feels like I’ve always known him. He touches me with the surety of a man who knows exactly how I like to be touched. My heart swells every time our gazes lock together to the point where I feel as if I will burst.

“I don’t want this to be it.” He cups the back of my head … “Tell, if we do this, this won’t be it.”

And thank God, that isn’t it, because what develops is an absolutely gorgeous, though undefined, relationship as Braeden and AJ steal every moment they can – having fun together, exploring their insane chemistry, and being there for each other in all the ways they want to be. But then the time comes for Braeden’s deployment and they are suddenly facing six months apart.

What are we doing?
Staring at each other now, locked gazes, I can see the questions swirling behind his eyes match my own. What started as a one-night stand has turned into something more, something neither of us planned, and yet here we are at an impossible crossroads.

They face it sensibly, knowing that 6 months isn’t forever, but also knowing that they are both single-mindedly pursuing their dream careers, so they don’t put any unrealistic expectations on themselves or each other. But those six months will change them irrevocably, and finding their way back to each other will be a journey that neither of them expected.

I won’t say any more because you seriously just need to dive in and experience it – and let me tell you that you will feel every single moment of it! My heart ached for these characters. ACHED! I felt so much for them, and I wanted to badly to reach into my book and hold them both. But the way it all played out was just magic. I could understand where they were at, and it was hard and messy at times, but I admired them so much for the way they dealt with everything. And as they work to overcome all that they are faced with, everything that was once between them is still very much there and the love story beautifully and naturally unfolds.

“Where you are will always be home to me.”

Braeden and AJ are amazing. I love their fun, their honesty, their intelligence, and their willingness to explore everything happening between them. They are the kind of characters that I love reading about. But not to be outdone, I loved seeing more of Blake in the role of big brother. He really steps up for Brae, and he had me in tears more than once as he unequivocally has his brother’s back.

The rest of the MMA crew and their girls are all a part of the journey, and I loved catching up with them and getting some progression for their stories as well, but Braeden and AJ and their story absolutely shine among a sea of much-loved characters, and I adored their book.

5 huge stars.

Amazing is the word that came to my head when I read the last word. J.B. gave us a tough subject but she handled it beautifully.

There are many people that have loved ones that have gone through what Braeden went through. And though I have not dealt with something that deep I can only imagine that if they have people like AJ (Adeline), Blake, Killian and the rest of the family that it might make it a bit more manageable.

AJ's life has been anything but easy yet she did what she had to, to survive. When she catches a strangers attention she knows that nothing can come from it because she is focused and determined to succeed.

Braeden was a sexy smooth talker that did not take no for an answer. And though he was married to the military he realized that AJ would not be one of his many conquest. AJ's never been one to "cling" on to guys but with Braeden it's different and that's why it hurt much more.

Y'all be prepared to sniffle, cry, punch and smack some sense into certain individuals. I had to hold my composure at work because I decided I could not wait until I got home to start reading it and good grief was it hard. 4.5 Stars

I'm so sad to be seeing this series come to an end but hot damn did it go out with a bang!

Ever since book 1 I have become attached to every book in this series. JB gives us an ending that does this series justice. Fans of military romance, you'll want to jump on this as soon as it's live! Such a beautiful story of true love and overcoming your demons and coming out on the other side.

I honestly didn't think any story in this series could hit me harder than Killian and Axelle, but boy did Braeden and AJ break my heart and put it back together. I'm pretty sure I cried for 50% of the book. Their story is that real. It's that raw. It's that true. And it's that beautiful. It brings to the forefront what really happens after war and how our hero's and their families are left in a sense to pick up the pieces.

I absolutely adore every word written not just in this book, but the entire series, so JB Salsbury, I think I speak for everyone when I say Thank You for bringing us these fierce loyal men and what a wild ride it's been!

The Final Fight was the eighth book in the Fighting series by JB Salsbury. I may now have a new favorite book in the series.

Braeden Daniels was the brother to Blake Daniels, book two, Fighting to Forgive. I loved how it started, Braeden was rebellious within the confines of his dad, the General’s, rule. “Yes sir and No sir” as expected, but then he paved his own way. Totally confident alpha. And then it just got better, I fell in love immediately.

AJ was a Las Vegas performer as well as holding a couple other jobs to make ends meet. She grew up poor but learned how to survive. Her goal was financial success - she had her goals, she wasn’t afraid to work for it and she wanted it all.

Braeden and AJ met as they were both married to their jobs. They had off the charts chemistry but understood the challenges of trying to make something work. It wouldn’t work and they knew it so they spent time together when they could and left it at that.

Salsbury weaved an emotional tale. It began as fun and lighthearted and then progressed into heartbreak with enormous obstacles for embracing their dreams. Salsbury also addressed the impact and affects of war.

Additionally, the characters that we’ve come to love in the series were front and center as supporting cast. I loved the bonding, family and loyalty that they represented.

In the end, it was well written, well developed, emotional, entertaining, a page turner and a worthy read. I can’t believe I read it in one sitting. Bring on the next one, Deacon now needs his story told...

Marine Braeden Daniels is on a weekend visit to Las Vegas to visit his brother and enjoy some R&R while he awaits his next posting, when he meets AJ a Las Vegas performer and they hook up for a night of fun with no strings attached until Braeden leaves on a six month tour overseas. Braeden Tells AJ to get on with her life without him and follow her dream because he has no idea what their future will hold, only neither of them were prepared for how strong their the chemistry and emotional feelings sparked between them causing an unfortunate set of events to keep them apart. Can they get over the obstacles of fate that are keeping them apart from each other? I have read every book in this series and have enjoyed them all and I loved this one. The characters are so lovable and engaging and the story line was a very emotional roller coaster of a ride. A second chance at love that you truly want to see succeed along with some sizzling hot sex, this book is a winner.

JB Salsbury is my go-to author for sweet and sexy Alpha heroes and The Final Fight did not disappoint!! I absolutely adored this story and read it in one sitting. Passionate and funny and sexy and heartfelt. Don't miss this fabulous conclusion to the Fighting Series!!

Back to Las Vegas, the Final Fight does not so much focus on the fighting world as it does on the experiences of our war heroes. All of my favorite characters make an appearance though and the way the author ties everything together was incredibly satisfying.

AJ is pursuing her dreams of headlining as an acrobatic dancer in a Las Vegas show. For now, she's just one of the performers in a Cirque du Soleil-type show. But she dreams big. And nothing and no one will deter her from her dreams.

A Vegas casino is like its own planet—a virtually inescapable planet without obvious exit points. The sun or moon never makes an appearance, so the essence of time is completely lost. People are always milling about, and if it weren’t for the coffee and pastry cart that opens at dawn and shuts down at noon, it would be impossible to tell morning from night.

Braeden is only in town for a short time on military leave. He is instantly drawn to AJ's wit and beauty and drive. He is not interested in a long-term commitment because he knows he can be shipped out anytime. I loved when these two met because they are both funny, driven and just very REAL.

“You think too much.” He angles his upper body toward me, opening his chest and torso for my viewing pleasure. Not that seeing him is pleasurable. It’s not that; it’s . . . he clearly works out or he was blessed with fantastic genes. Not that I’m noticing. Or care. Whatever.

I really felt their intense connection which is SO important for me. Their chemistry is scorching hot but more than that, they share an emotional connection. Even though they both try to deny it.

“I don’t need promises. I only want to live in this moment with you, whatever that means, and not think about tomorrow or a week or a year from now.”

Circumstances and a series of miscommunications lead to Braeden and AJ being separated. JB Salsbury added just the right amount of angst so that the story moved forward but never felt forced. And can I say that I really liked AJ's boss, Andre? I felt that he was a little misunderstood and I can definitely feel another story there!

Braeden and AJ both have to overcome tragedy and curveballs thrown in their way. But their story is ultimately uplifting and inspiring and very, very emotional. Braeden especially was SO inspiring.

“You’ll be okay. We’re going to get through this. We’re gonna fight our way through this because we know no other way. And we’re gonna do it together.”

Fans of the Fighting Series will LOVE how this series ends. 'The Final Fight' is fast-paced, sexy and funny in all the right places. I loved Braeden and AJ and their inspiring journey.

“I will die before I let you go, you hear me? You’ll be back. You’ll be fighting for this shit too, but until you’re there, until you get your fight back, I’m fighting for you.”

Over the past 4 years JB Salisbury has made me laugh and cry with her Fighting series. She's given us sexy Alpha Males and sweet sassy heroines who fight for love. The Final Fight, the last book in the series, is no different.

I was immediately drawn into their story and once I started reading it I didn't put it down. Braeden and AJ have a quick and easy chemistry-with or without clothes on. It was evident they were perfect for each other but timing wasn't on their side.
Their friendship grew quickly and easily. While neither was looking for more, you could feel their hearts breaking when he leaves for his 6 month deployment.

During their time apart they both experience tragedy. They are forced to change and must learn how to mend without one another. Despite constantly thinking of the other one.
At times I found the story to be predictable but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Their heartache and love was so real at times.

I also liked reconnecting with the other characters. Blake is one of my favorites and excited he was part of this final journey. There were also a few characters in the book that I would love to see them getting their own book.

The story can be read as a standalone and still enjoyed but I would recommend starting from the beginning.

I still remember all the feels Fighting For Flight gave me like it was yesterday. The Fighting series has been one of my favorites, and I have been a die hard fan of J.B. Salsbury's ever since. I am so incredibly sad that this is the end to an incredible series. To see all the characters from previous books, made my heart bleed and damn near teary eyed. I just wanted to go back and start the series all over again, after finishing The Final Fight.

The Final Flight is the story of Braeden Daniels, Blake Daniels brother. And his love interest is AJ, a performer in Vegas. They both were workaholics, didn't have time or want to be in a committed relationship. Made their point known from the very beginning, that this is a fling.... just a fling. Or so they thought!

Why my rating:
Even though I liked this story, it wasn't exactly my favorite. I felt the chemistry between Braeden and AJ, but their relationship felt a bit forced. I honestly had a really hard time liking Braedan..... *GASP* I know, I love his brother but Braeden....It took some time. But overall I thought it was a good ending, a great wrap up for the Fighting series.

I loved this series and I'm glad that I have read the final book. It is great to see all the gang. There were numerous times when I laughed out loud, the banter was excellent. There are also some seriously steamy moments, along with an emotional punch.
The hero is a marine
I didn't mind the triangle that was going on even though the heroine wasn't intimate with OM so maybe that helped. It is not a perfect read but I enjoyed it and couldn't stop reading it.

The Final Fight is most definitely the most emotional story of the entire series. For Braeden and AJ they’re faced with overcoming obstacles that get in the way of their career paths as well as the quickly growing relationship they build. With an easygoing friendship and undeniable sexual chemistry things move much quicker between than than anticipated.

A beautiful end to such an addictive and unforgettable series!!!

And just like that...it's done. The series I fell in love with so long ago, is done. And now, I'm beating myself up for reading this book so fast. Can I multiply the amount of stars I give by 20?? It deserves more than five that's for sure.

I laughed, cried, and got angry all because of the characters in this amazing story. I was a mess. I would find myself putting my iPad down to take deep breaths. I had to take breaks just to gather my thoughts. I didn't expect to cry as much as I did. Braeden has moved into a spot in my heart and made himself a home. He's nice and comfy now. I wanted to crawl into the book and hug him so many times. His story and struggles pulled at my heart strings. I'm in love with a fictional character. He's so perfectly broken.

I have said this before...every time I read a book by JB Salsbury, I get pulled in. The characters feel like they are my friends. People I know. I get emotional anytime someone is hurting like I would with someone I know. How does she do that?? It’s cuz she knows how to crawl inside your mind and heart with every darn word. She knows magic. I always look for books like this. Books that will leave me messed up when I read “The End”. Books that I will read over and over again. All of JB’s books become a part of me. Thank you for writing this series. Because you did, I not only fell in love with all of the characters, I got to meet you. Forever a Fight Girl. #OGFG4Life!

Now I have a challenge in front of me. To some how get out of this book slump I’m now in. Must read series.

JB Salsbury brings her unforgettable Fighting series to a close with another epic and angsty romance. The Final Fight is Braeden and A.J.’s story and it was everything I’d hoped it would be and so much more. Their journey was sweet, sexy, and full of surprises. The author had me riding one heck of an emotional rollercoaster as I fell hard and fast for this great new couple. A.J. fit right into the Fighting world, proving to be the perfect match for Braeden and all of his demons. These two shared an instantly addictive chemistry that burned hot and fast. However, it was their significant emotional connection that gave me all the feels. Braeden and A.J.’s story was a fantastic addition to what is one of my all-time favorite series. With The Final Fight, JB Salsbury leaves Fighting fans totally satisfied.

A.J. was everything I’ve come to expect from a Fighting series heroine. She was independent, fierce, and perfectly vulnerable. She had a heart that demanded to be loved and enough attitude to handle everything Braeden threw her way. Braeden was equally intriguing and I adored finally getting to know this character after seeing bits and pieces of him throughout the series. Braeden’s personal journey stirred up a lot of turmoil and I appreciated the raw and genuine emotions that poured from the pages of this novel. Together, Braeden and A.J. were a force to be reckoned with. I loved seeing them unravel each other so completely, forcing one another to fall apart so that they could both find a way to heal.

One of my favorite things about The Final Fight was getting to see all of the previous couples from throughout the series. JB Salsbury gave readers a glimpse into the happily ever afters of her beloved characters and I found myself overcome by the beautiful feeling of family the author has so masterfully cultivated over the course of the series. Paced to be devoured, Braeden and A.J.’s journey was completely captivating and the author’s writing proved to be as enchanting as ever. The Final Fight expertly balanced the potent emotional element of the story with plenty of adorable banter and just the right amount of sizzle to deliver something wholly incomparable. JB Salsbury leaves readers with plenty of spin-off possibilities as she brings this phenomenal series to a close with what is definitely one of her best novels yet. The Final Fight is breathtaking, swoon-worthy, and an absolute must read!

I’ve read all the books in this series and every one of them has moved me in some way. Each couple’s story definitely hasn’t been easy, and at times it’s been heart wrenching. I fell completely head over heels for Blake and Layla in Books 2 & 5 and don’t even get me started on Rex, Cameron, Killian and the rest of the boys! In this final instalment we have Blake’s brother Braeden Daniels and AJ, a performer in a Vegas show. I knew Braeden’s story would be interesting just from the snippets of him we’ve had previously and hell, he’s a Daniels so you know it’s gonna be good. I went through the wringer reading it; it spoke of the casualties of war and how deeply it also affects the friends and families and, ultimately, it shows that love never ever comes easy; you really do have to fight for it. It was so good to be back in Vegas and hear from the rest of the gang too. I loved this series so much and felt so engaged with the characters it was like visiting old friends. I think what made it for me was not only the actual love story but the feeling of brotherhood and camaraderie that was evident all the way through and the feeling of belonging. JB did not let us down here, this story rounds off the series so freaking beautifully, it’s truly exceptional. There are some series you read and enjoy but they don’t stay with you like this one will. If you haven’t read it, I urge you to do it, you won’t be disappointed. I’m kind of sad it’s over but I know I’ll be revisiting this series often. A well deserved five stars (and a few happy tears) from me.

I really enjoyed this story of AJ and Brae! The beginning was fast and full of life but then by the middle, it started to slow down but then by 3/4 in...it picked right back up again.

I think I ended up reading the first book in this series and I have no clue why I didn't continue to read about these succulent men! After reading this one...I want to go back now and get each of their stories also! Yumm...

I really do not want to say goodbye to this series. I will not say goodbye to it. If i'm actually forced to say goodbye? I actually couldn't imagine a more perfect end.

Brae Daniels *sigh* i only have to say his name and i go all giddy with delight! Rex is my man of this series. He has been since the day he broke my heart. I can now say though Brae is my joint number 1. Sinfully gorgeous not just on the outside but inside too. He took my heart. He filled it up. He broke it. He shattered it to pieces. Then... then... he glued that thing completely back together then left his mark all over it forever. Dramatic? Maybe. But 100% true.

AJ has a dream. Vegas is the place that is going to give it to her. Landing a job in a Vegas show is the start of that dream. It's only a small part but it's a step on the ladder to everything she ever wanted. Fame and fortune, designer clothes, she wants it all. She's working hard to get it. She has nothing for the time being and has to work another job to pay her bill's and it's there that she meet's Brae.

Brae is on leave from the Marines visiting his brother Blake. He doesn't do relationships ever. There's no point. The Marines are it for him. He will never leave so what's the point in a relationship? He wouldn't want to put any woman through being on their own whilst he was on tour so he has flings on his leave then returns to his true passion. The Marines. In a hotel bar Brae meets AJ. He charms her thinking they could have some fun. Aj is on the same page. She has a future mapped out so Brae is the perfect solution. No ties.

What starts out as a fun fling. A friendship with lots of benefits changes over the course of their time together. There's a deep connection on both sides but it can't ever be they both have separate roads to travel.

Fate deals a tragic blow to both of them. Will it bring them together? or blow them apart for good.

Swoon. Sigh. Burn. Laugh. Cry. Break. Shatter. Pray. Hope. Love and finally tears of joy and a bit of sadness at the end. I'm not sure I'll ever get over this series but i will guarantee it will be re-read and loved over and over again. One of the best MMA series you will ever read if not THE BEST.

I can hardly articulate the love i have for this book. I wasn't sure what to expect from Brae. Some of it i knew, being a Daniel's he was gonna be a smooth talking cocky SOB. He was all that and more. The more being a sweetness that you couldn't help but fall in love with from the get go. His chat up lines were corny and fun and i would have instantly dropped to my knee's before him if he'd laid them on me along with that stunning smile. He is everything you would want in a book boyfriend. MINE!!! Sexy with a capital S he had me changing my panties on more than one occasion. Multiple cold showers were needed and not just through the love scenes... all the darn way through!

AJ was nearly perfect for him. She came second only to me lol. She was funny and charming and the banter between them had me smiling big! I loved how despite knowing the different paths they were going she opened herself up to him so completely. Then later on in the story how strong and determined she was when Brae didn't have the strength to fight. She fought for him often taking a few blows for him and i loved that about her. She just kept bouncing back.

The story kept me gripped to the very end. I had no idea of the plot and what was going to happen and i loved that it kept me on my toes.

As i have come to expect from JB Salsbury the writing is impeccable. She knows how to drag you into her story from the very first word.

We see all the characters from previous books in here and it just filled me with joy seeing them all together as a self made family. The love they pour into each other is a tangible thing. I could feel it envelope me in one huge big warm loving hug. There are also a few new characters and i'm keeping my fingers toes and eyes crossed that there may be a military series further on down the line.

A favorite series that i will keep with me forever. Highly recommend the whole series to anyone. I just love it so much i couldn't stop the tears when i read the last word. It really is over. Hopefully only for now and we will see them again some day.

Amazing series you will love to re-read again and again!

It’s fitting that the last book in J.B. Salsbury’s Fighting Series is titled The Final Fight because that moniker encompasses what each and every hero and heroine in the series has had to do in order to ensure that when the final metaphorical bell rang, they were the ones left standing…the ones who never gave up despite their underdog status or the chances of them winning being a long shot…the ones who never backed down, always pushing themselves to keep moving forward regardless of the obstacles they face.

All of Salsbury’s main characters never allowed their fighting spirit to lay dormant and let me tell you, the author definitely placed a significant amount of roadblocks in front of them, allowing them to get so caught up in the chaos and devastation that it had the ability to overpower and consume them, but the fight or die attitude seems to have been harnessed inside of each one of Salsbury’s fighters and while some fought inside a ring, for the most part, life’s battle was far more complex and had farther reaching claws that continually threatened to pull them under to the point where the characters had to decide just how long they could hold on when everything felt impossible.

The hero and heroine in The Final Fight are just as tough and tenacious as the previous couples in the series. Both Braeden and AJ have very clear goals for themselves - ones that don’t allow for any disruptions because their chosen paths are meticulously laid out, but attraction and lust don’t follow a certain trail; in fact, they sneak up on people and knock them on their asses, which is exactly what happens when our Marine Corps alpha male heads to Vegas on leave to catch up with his older brother, Blake, and gets knocked sideways by a sweet, sexy, and driven heroine hellbent on proving to herself and everyone else that she has what it takes to headline a Las Vegas show.

Despite Braeden and AJ’s adamancy about a ‘no-strings’ relationship, they find themselves both yearning for more, but when life’s hazards infiltrate their lives, their fighting spirit is put to the test, and it’s difficult to know if they’ll both be left standing when everything works itself out or if one or the other will tap out because the risks are just too great to overcome.

I’ve read every one of J.B. Salsbury’s Fighting series’ books and each and every time I enter her Las Vegas world and she introduces me to her heroes and heroines, I can’t help but be swept away by her emotional prose and her dynamic characters because she’s a fabulous storyteller - one who allows her readers to truly experience EVERY ASPECT of her storyline along with the complexity of her characters and the trials they face. And as the characters adjust and fight to be who they want to be and be where they need to be, readers witness the true fight of these characters and it’s because of the way the author crafts each scene paying close attention to details that we feel like we are a part of her Las Vegas crew, and it’s a place I’d more than willingly be!

The Final Fight... Where do I even begin? It's listed as the seventh book in the Fighting series by JB Salsbury (which I've read and loved each book this series has to offer) And even though I highly recommend reading them all... you don't have to in order to enjoy Braeden and AJ's story. So don't hesitate to dive right in... OK... back to the good stuff.

The book opens with a confident/cocky-sexy Marine, Braeden Daniels, who meets AJ Pines, a Las Vegas Cirque de Soleil performer. (I know what you're thinking... Is she as flexible as you'd think? hehehe... you won't be disappointed folks... I promise you that )

AJ is the perfect counterpart to Braeden. He's a true Daniels boy, and doesn't lack any of the humor and whit we've come to expect, and AJ doesn't miss a beat. She can keep up with this unexpected man, that drops into her life, and keep him coming back for more... and more... and more... ( I hope you're getting the picture here)

Even though these two are the perfect match... life doesn't always move in the perfect direction. That's when the story really grabs you. Takes you by the hair, and drags you through the heart of this book. The part that's left its mark on my reading soul and will forever remain on my top bookshelf. I laughed, I swooned, I blushed, I cried, laughed some more... Then I went back and read the book again because I had too... Once just wasn't enough.

I hate when a series ends. I hate when you fall in love with these families and the author says ‘this is it’ however I loved the way JB took us out. This one kept you on your toes. You didn’t know where she was going with this one. Will Braeden return to Vegas and sweep AJ off her feet? Will AJ begin dating someone else to break Braeden’s heart? Will they have a reason to see each other again? These are all questions you will ask yourself.
Braeden is visiting his brother while on leave when he comes face to face with a beautiful woman. For whatever reason his body tells him that it would be fun to get to know this woman, even for a weekend. AJ is right where she wants to be, performing in Vegas, living life on her own and trying to make something of herself. Who knew that one weekend with a marine would change all of that?
Their minds are on each other even though they deny it. Their bodies want no one else. They convince their selves though that life is exactly how it should be. Braeden is overseas, AJ is on the silks. Until one day both lives change and who is the person they envision? Each other.
I loved this story; I loved having Blake and Killer back in my life. I loved that Braeden was able to have the life he wanted under the General even if it was cut short. I hated that AJ had to give up a life she loved but was able to find a purpose. Who knew that Braeden even not in her life would help her find that purpose?
JB has always tears out hearts out and places them back whole again. She allows us to question her thinking while coming up with an answer as genius. She gave us a whole crew of people to get close with and follow through their journeys and continued to give us updates.

I've loved this series since I read the first book Fighting for Flight waaay back in 2013 and have finally reached the end. I loved this one from the flirty and hot beginnings through a (sort of) triangle to their finally being together. AJ is such a strong but sweet character, just what Braedon needed when he hit rock bottom. The (sort of) triangle didn't faze me and given I absolutely detest and avoid them at all costs that's saying something for how the author handled this one.

I'm sad the series is finished, but there's always re-reads, right?

Another one of the books that have been gathering dust on my kindle ticked off.

4 Stars... I wasn't sure of the direction of this book initially, but I was pleasantly surprised in how the storyline evolved and the degree of depth that it acquired... Braeden and AJ both fight to overcome personal tragedy and loss of their purpose in life only to find new direction in one another... I enjoyed both of these characters and the diverse personality characteristics that they brought to the story... Add in past characters and their crazy personalities and the overall story took shape and had me laughing and crying... A sweet and, of course, sexy finale to this series.:)

The Final Fight is an emotionally impactful, poignant and memorable love story that stayed with me long after I finished reading it. J.B. Salsbury knows how to break my heart, but she always sews it back together and leaves me a satisfied mess. Just as Braeden and AJ’s no-strings hookup evolves into something more, Braeden is deployed, and fate leads them in directions they, nor I, ever imagined. There are twists and turns, pain and triumph, and you’ll be breathless in anticipation to find out what happens next. There’s nothing not to love about The Final Fight.
