Luigi Capuana was an Italian author and journalist and one of the most important members of the Verist movement. He was a contemporary of Giovanni Verga, both having been born in the province of Catania within a year of each other. He was also one of the first authors influenced by the works of Émile Zola, French author and creator of Naturalism.

It was wonderful having the fairytales written in both German and Italian, with no English. A real help for both languages!

Non sono celebri quanto le Fiabe Italiane di Italo Calvino, ma le fiabe di Capuana sono altrettanto meravigliose.
La presenza di alcuni termini della tradizione siciliana può rendere queste storie meno facili da leggere, ma è un ostacolo che si supera facilmente nel giro di qualche storia.
Meraviglioso.
