A predatory alien species covertly stalks the people of our world. Worse yet, secretive agencies within our own government knowingly cover up the alien activity in exchange for access to advanced technology. U.S. President Jason Andrews obtains access to the hidden reality of aliens in our world and gains the help of people and technology from another star system. Talented navy fighter pilot Diane Zadanski is recruited into our country’s new secret space program to help fight the Zeta Greys and drive them from our solar system. But the Zeta Grey plan to gain absolute control of our world is almost complete. Is it too little, too late? Or do we really stand a chance to survive?
I know the author slightly. He is a friend of my mother. I was expecting a solid 3 star book.
Boy was I wrong! This is one of the best science fiction books I have read in a long time. Very action packed with interesting plot twists--but not so many that you get lost. If you like science fiction and want Earth to win against the aliens--this is a great read. I can't wait for the next installment to come out.
I also am interested in his claims about global warming in the book. Truth or fiction. I want to do some research.
I really enjoyed this book. I would rate it up as high as The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown for an enjoyable page turner.
The story hinges on world leaders having less power to protect themselves yet more power than they actually possess in reality. It is a very simplistic description of the political structure. Since the whole book tests on that premise, the story falls apart.
Points for having one of two U.S. characters with non-English surnames and not one "Stone, Hunter, Striker, Rock, etc.". The most prominent military character is a woman, points for that. Russia and China are included as world powers, points for that.
That's about it for interesting background. India is not mentioned and except for Russia's aging and poorly maintained nuclear arsenal, it was unbelievable that it was not reversed.
The main military character is a lowly ranked pilot, yet makes all the major decisions for the U.S. military response to the aliens. Her superiors are clueless even with detailed information about the alien invaders from alien allies. Her superiors are given high level technology but don't implement it with a sense of urgency. This is especially strange given the bad aliens have telepathic powers, including mind control.
The interactions between and the responses from the world leaders were Fox News simplistic. Agreements were reached with almost no delay and neither the Chinese nor Russian head of government needed to answer to their colleagues (the Communist Party Central Committee and the Russian plutocrats respectively). It is also unclear if, how and when the Russians and Chinese were aware of the alien invaders.
The U.S. military cherry picks when and if they will obey presidential orders, yet they haven't got the guts to stage some sort of coup. The contradictions were overwhelming.
I'm going to try the second book for kicks. It might be better but it seems that the writer has written himself into a very small corner.
In many ways, The Zeta Grey War: New Recruits is a conspiracy theorist's dream. I can't say more without spoiling the plot. However, I did find the book to be filled with fantastic, high-tech action, and sadly, not all of the good guys survive. The characters are interesting, and both genders have leading, important roles. My only complaint would be that the relationships seem to form instantaneously, which makes them superficial and hard to believe.
I really liked the book though and would recommend it to lovers of alien contact sci-fi.
A new covert operations is taking the best of the world's fighters. They are being trained to find and stop an alien invasion. They have to learn how to fly saucers made from alien technology and keep to under wraps whilst avoiding those human who are helping the aliens. A multinational group of fighter are soon together to help save the planet under the lordship of the their various countries. Using them own technology against them gives the people an advantage that will help to win this new war.
We fight the Zeta Grays to save humanity or all is lost.
The Zeta Gray War kept me glued to this fast paced read. I enjoyed the Arial conflicts with Zeta Gray aliens and America's young dedicated best of the best pilots. I could not put this book down until the end. I have read many scifi since I was a 4th grade. I'm 72 now and this is best I have ever read. D F Capps is my new favorite author.
This is one of those books that grabs you and won't let go from the first paragraph until the last period. Twisted and extremely believable science underscores the book, leading you into believing in aliens, conspiracies and the human will to overcome anything. Pick up a copy of this book now if you enjoy air combat, aliens and desperate fights for survival.
This book started slow, and there were several points in the book where I considered putting it down and starting another book but in the end I'm glad that I did not do that. I enjoy the book and can recommend it to all lovers of science fiction stories.
Too much political wrangling with traitors etc. Outdated equipment such as 45s being current military issue. Nonsensical happenings such as cattle mutations ongoing. Questionable science such as global warming (It's a fact).
I,just loved i just really love it. Especially how everything was brought, together. The falce, climate change, crap. To flying, saucers. Everything was woven together.
Was a pretty good jump into Sy-Fi. I needed a break from the type of books I usually read, which are mystery & murder. Very good. I enjoyed it and think you would too. I will be back for more.
An alien invasion, who only want our bodies for food and parts. Human's to concerned about money and power. An introduction to an Alien Federation. I can't wait for the next book!
This is a wonderful story that keeps me wondering if it could be true. The writing is done so well I just couldn't stop reading. I missed many hours of sleep. I will look for more books by D F Capps.
