This book is a collection of short first-person essays written by people who worked closely with George Balanchine during all phases of his career. You can easily pick and choose which parts of it you are interested to read and most of the individual chapters are no longer than 5-10 pages. A few notable people included are Ray Bolger (most famous as the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz) and the dancer and choreographer Katherine Dunham.
